Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

As you sneak down the formerly trapped corridor, you hear the voices stop when a sharp "Shh! What was that?" was spat out.

Coming to the larger chamber, you see embedded into the floor is a ten-foot-diameter granite emblem of a faded gold and white longsword. Four passages lead out of the chamber in different directions. A portcullis blocks the southern exit, and a sturdy wooden door leads west. A ladder in the southern corner of the room leads upward, and a small chest and decrepit bookshelf face one another from opposite walls.

You see two figures.
One is a middle aged half orc in leather armor, the other is a human sized troll.
The half-orc spat out an orcish curse as he slowly drew his blades. The troll yowled and leapt.

No Surprise.

Round 1_______________

Players take their turn in order of posting, enemies will go last.

TACTICAL MAP

With a yell, Asher sprints across the room, heedless of the attacks of the half-elf and the troll.

Crunch:
Asher is already fighting defensively, using Combat Expertise (EitR), and has entered Panther Style with Panther Claw technique, fused with Crane Style. He Double moves 40 ft., intentionally crossing into and out of the threatened area of (both, if possible) of the flood troll and the half-orc. When they trigger their AoOs, Asher gets a retaliatory attack on both of them as Free Actions after their attacks. He will Power attack on both attacks. Asher retaliatory attack against the troll; Bless, Power attack: 1d20 + 2 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (19) + 2 + 1 - 1 = 21 for 1d6 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 1 + 2 = 6 potential points of lethal bludgeoning damage, and Asher retaliatory attack against the half-elf; Bless, Power attack: 1d20 + 2 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (19) + 2 + 1 - 1 = 21 for 1d6 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 1 + 2 = 6 potential points of lethal bludgeoning damage. His current AC is 20. If the monsters hit, or if Asher hits, go ahead and describe it however you'd like.

Ideally I'd like to wait until Grobradon starts to Inspire Courage, but I'll at least post my intentions. I'll include that buff on the assumption that he does it this round. If he decides to do something else, it'll just be 1 less Atk and 1 less Dmg.

"A friend of yours?" Varys asks of the middle-aged half-orc as he moves up and sticks his rapier into the troll's heart.

Grobradon almost immediately begins to sing That inspire Courage you wanted and we can all use even as he moves closer "Our fathers fathers watch us from their great ancestral halls. They look the the mists of death to see us answers battle's call! And they cheer us on, as foe blood spills in the hall! Shame them not, sons of glory shame them not! They cannot touch the foe, and fight by our sides, yet even dead men are allowed to bask in family pride! Our fathers fathers fathers, and fathers before them , know that their line is locked in battle grim! We do what we must and we won't dishonor them. Shame them not, Sons of Glory ,shame them not!"

He's not sure where her heard the song. For all he knows he's tweaked a dwarven ditty. But it fits.

Oh! Sorry! I guess I lost track of where things were at.

Clover follows Varys toward the troll. When she's close enough to reach the thing she pops out from behind Varys long enough to take a quick jab at it.

Round 1 completed_______________

With a yell, Asher sprints across the room, heedless of the attacks of the half-elf and the troll.
The troll managed to tag him for 3 points as he passed, but Asher’s immediate retaliatory strike hit perfectly for moderate damage, although the troll’s rubbery hide seemed to absorb some of that damage..
Flitting by the half-orc he dodged the sloppy swing and made another immediate retaliatory strike that again hit perfectly for moderate damage.

Grobradon almost immediately begins to sing That inspire Courage song.

"A friend of yours?" Varys asks of the middle-aged half-orc as he moves up and sticks his rapier into the rubbery troll for moderate damage.

Clover follows Varys toward the troll. When she's close enough to reach the thing she pops out from behind Varys long enough to take a quick jab at it, but missed.

The troll roared and reached out to grab Varys, who made an opportune parry to fend it off and stabbed it again for serious damage.

The half orc tumbled around Asher easily, but missed widely when he tried to stab him.

Then you looked on with disquiet as half the damage you all had dealt the troll healed right up.

GM:
You previously gave me the go-ahead to look at the creature's stat block, so I have to ask how it healed half of 27 points of damage? Does it have unlisted DR? Is it touching flowing water? You did not describe the presence of any water in this room. If there isn't, then its regeneration should not activate. If there is flowing water, then regeneration would only proc once per round, not once per attack.

Grobradon: This is what Varys previously recommended.

Asher grunts as a swipe from the troll slams into his shoulder hard. "Kill the troll, but let's question his lover here. I have an alchemist's fire." The half-elf dodges around him, swinging wildly. Asher shunts the attack to the side and runs at the half-elf, kneeing him in the midsection, laughing. "You're the lover, pretty boy." He bounds away, striking quickly with a jumping roundhouse to the troll's face, pushing back and creating distance from the beast and his humanoid ally.

Hey, I'm the half-elf! But there are two half-orcs in the room. Don't attack Varys, please! He is a pretty boy, but not much of a lover.

Oh good hell...I've been saying that incorrectly for a minute. Even DM-Camris said half-elf accidentally. Oopsie-daisy.

Round 2 completed_______________

Varys:
Regarding your question about the damage taken by the Troll; Your detective’s observation notices the creature is harder to hit, more resistant to damage and regenerating when by rights it should not. And yet, the half orc has none of those. You put that together with a couple of empty potion slots on the Troll’s Adventurers sash. The Troll has several magic effects on him, ones you didn’t see him activating, so they were in effect before you got on scene. You suddenly leap to the conclusion that the Troll came ready to and intending kill the half-orc!

Varys steps to the side to let Clover or Grobradon have an opportunity to attack. He stabs out ineffectually and adopts a more defensive stance.

Grobradon “By Cayden's mug, it's healing.”

Grobradon:
You know that it usually takes fire or acid to stop a troll from regenerating.

Even as he tries to remember old lore, he slides up to stab at the troll. He hit for minor damage, as it seems resistant somehow as well as regenerating.

Clover Cynosure Half panicking and half rushing, Clover accomplishes nothing useful.

Asher grunts. "Kill the troll, but let's question his lover here. I have an alchemist's fire."
Asher shunts the attack to the side and runs at the half-orc, kneeing him in the midsection for minor nonlethal damage. He bounds away, (his AoO from the half-orc’s AoO hitting for serious nonlethal damage) striking quickly with a jumping roundhouse to the troll's face, pushing back and creating distance from the beast and his humanoid ally. That last damage to the Troll seems to have been entirely resisted.

The half-orc, startled and half-shocked at the violence of the attack, retreated down the hallway behind him where he took the time to unlock a door before throwing it wide open.
Before he did that, you heard the sounds of someone pounding on the door and shouting “Help!”.
When the door is thrown open, you see a kid you’ve never seen before, and he is frightened by the half-orc, cringing away.

The Troll, frustrated and enraged, lashed out at Grobradon.
Claw 1: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12 for a possible 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 slashing damage. Missed.
Claw 2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19 for a possible 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 slashing damage. Hit.
