"Alright, do you want us to take a look at your injured? Master Chief Chivix, is a trained combat medic."

Shifty |

"Sure" Alis seems surprised at the offer. Chivix sets to work attending some of the wounds - noting that the wounds definitely are consistent with the robot weapons you just encountered, and enough time to get a good look at the equipment they are carrying, certainly Aspis issue.
With a fairly good mood setting in between the two groups, they step off towards the Government District, leaving you to head into the Residential District.

Apartments in Sky Town, particularly on the upper floors, have the best view of New Hope and the surrounding landscape. Businesspeople, artists, traders, and people in many other professions once favored this area.
From the vantage of a now abandoned penthouse apartment, you can see that Green Town sits between Miners’ Town and Sky Town’s high-rise buildings. The houses in Green Town are spacious and have plots for recreational farming. Shops and schools are also common in the area.
Further across in Miners' Town, the homes are compact but built from high-quality materials. Architecture and landscaping combine dwarven, human, and other Pact World aesthetics. Shops and dwarven alehouses are also common in the area.
You estimate the three zones would likely house around 60,000 residents
As the group moves through the Residential zones investigating the area, you notice many things which suggest that whatever caused the colonists’ disappearance was swift and unexpected: there are unfinished meals inside homes, shopping carts full of groceries near vehicles, and discarded items left randomly in the streets.
Based on spoilage in the meals and groceries, you estimate the disappearance happened two weeks ago.
It’s evident the attack was very systematic. All homes look as if they’ve been ransacked, and various personal effects are laid out in plain view.
Seemingly random items are obviously missing: lightly shaded squares on the wall where paintings used to hang, conspicuously empty spaces in bookshelves, and so forth.
***
Navigating the streets.
You find bullet holes and bloodstains on the walls and pavement.
Following some of the VERY subtle clues, you eventually find thousands of bodies—humans, lashuntas, and other species—unceremoniously discarded in otherwise empty storage facilities. Despite the high body count, it’s obvious the number of victims represents only a fraction of the total population. The bodies have plasma burns and deep lacerations from some vicious bladed weapons - you estimate the victims died two weeks ago.

Chorizal stands near J'Shun, backing him up as his swordbrother plays hardball with the Aspis.
"Good guys...good guys..." he comments after Chivix has done some patching and they head off in the opposite direction from where Chorizal's Chosen are heading.
"We uh...locked the ship, right?" he says, considering where the Aspis will end up.

But those aren't the sorts of thoughts Chorizal has.

Sports Stadium
This open-air arena was intended for spectator sports and large concerts. One of the goals is tipped over, while the other one is still standing. A ball sits in the middle of the field, but there are no players or spectators. Bloodstains on the grass suggest some form of violence occurred here recently. A large screen on one side of the arena still flashes “What a goal!” in huge letters.
You manipulate the screen to play back earlier footage, the screen shows a dropship deploying a few dozen heavily armed robots right in the middle of the ongoing game, then shoving people around to herd them into smaller groups; a few kasatha and human athletes attempted to tackle some of the attacking robots but were promptly killed with blades and energy weapons. The others went willingly after witnessing the attackers’ firepower. The footage confirms that most colonists were indeed captured rather than killed.

"We need to report our findings to Starfinder Fleet Command as soon as possible. This could be the beginning of an invasion of the Pact Worlds by these bots."

Moments after J'Shun makes his commands known you start receiving signals from other ships in the Starfinder fleet.
Fitch reaches out to the group on comms. “We have just arrived, but I can see you’ve already landed in New Hope. Are you all right? What’s your status? What have discovered so far?”

![]() |

Chorizal looks around at the group, doing a quick visual inspection.
"We're good so far," he reports back. "We've discovered evidence that this place was invaded by an army of killer robots. We've encountered a few. Nothing we couldn't handle but probably dangerous en masse. It looks like many of the citizens were killed but others have been abducted.
"They also seem to have ships so watch your six."
He stops then remembers something. "Oh, and the Apsis are here. At least one unit of them. Looks like they clashed with the bots, too and came out the worst for it."

![]() |

"Captain Chorizal's report accurately describes everything we've experienced on this mission so far."

Shifty |

“Thank you for the report. What you just told me is concerning, but we must continue our mission despite the colonists’ disappearance. Zigvigix’s fleet is currently spreading out to try to uncover anything unusual within the system, but something urgent has just come to my attention: ships from my fleet detected a strange power reading from several points on the planet and nearby moons. One of these sites is very close to your location. It appears to be an underground facility just east of the city’s industrial area. Please, investigate the site as soon as you can. I’ll dispatch other teams to investigate similar sites on the planet, while Zigvigix takes their fleet to the moons to investigate.”

J'Shun, will find a quite spot to prepare his mind for the upcoming battle the Kommandos may face when they arrive at the industrial site.

"Kommandos, move out!"

Shifty |

When you arrive at the site, you find an entrance to the underground facility, which turns out to be an abandoned mining site. A plaque at the entrance, dated 50 years (Pact Standard Time) ago, states that mining operations have been moved to the three lifeless moons, so as to keep the planet “green and clean.”
Signs of recent activity contradict the message. Barred doors and other physical barriers blocking entrance to the mine are destroyed, allowing easy access. Inside the facility, the ceiling is 30 feet high. About 15 feet above the ground, there is a walkway with safety railings that overlooks a conveyor belt system that stretches through the facility
Safety and emergency lighting gives the place a softly lit appearance.

![]() |

J'Shun, activates the light projector on his tactical shield and prepares to enter the mine.
"The bots could have been searching for something in the mine or the remaining colonists could be hiding in it. Either way we are going in.
Captain Chorizal you're on point, let's move Kommandos."
He's got his sword in two of his hands and his shield and SMG in the other two.

![]() |

"Aye, aye Captain...I mean, Space Admiral," Chorizal says.
He takes the lead, his combiweapon at the ready.
After going a few yards, he leans over and looks at the drop, glad that he's not afraid of heights. Quite predictably, he spits over the edge and watches it fall before continuing.

Shifty |

Chivix finds the systems to be fairly unuseful and not particularly well networked, one system for operation of conveyor belts, which have not been run in some time, and toggling the lights yields little results as only minimal power has been diverted to this largely disused tunnel system - generators haven't been run in years.
What you do see up ahead, however, looks VERY powered on...
