Toki scrambles back from the open area and shoots Beordt a look, that his ursine companion knows all too well. The devious mark of Loki splays across the young skald's face, as he mouths, Cover me...
The charges up the stairs and tries to step off the gearforged dwarf and then leaps, an axe in each hand! Reaching out, Toki tries to snag the two oil lamps by their hanging cords and yank them to spill flaming oil on the ogre to set the big brute on fire!!!

N'Dateh feels the beat of the desert surge through her; an impossible hunger, and a lust for the kill.
Swiftly, she rushes the frogkin, following Beordt's javelin. Perhaps it wasn't the spirit if the desert then? Perhaps it was some canine urge to run in the wake of flying sticks?

As leaping is often associated with Athletics, may I apply proficiency for Athletics (still using Dex)? It is only a difference of 1, because of Jack of All Trades, but I figure I would ask. I figure Rilkus attacked already, so no worries about having him help...

Toki leaps in the air, but just falls shy, his axes whiff in the air as he bounces off the ogre, falling to the ground!
| DM - Tareth |
Beordt launches the big javelin toward one of the frogkin. Not seeing the incoming missile, the hapless amphibian finishes grabbing another arrow and turns directly into its path. With a startled *croak* the creature is thrown from the stairway by the force of the bearfolk's throw. He plummets to the floor below where he lands with an ear cringing crack and twitches a few times before dying.
Rilkus charges up the stairs, a flurry of furious metal destruction. The second frogman watches frozen in horror as the mechanical powered silver hammer crashes into its face. Teeth shatter and bits of ivory fly from the frogkin's mouth as blood pours from its broken face.
A sad, pathetic *bibbit* is all that bubbles forth through its lips before it collapses and tumbles down the stairs to foil N'Dateh's oncoming charge.
Surprised by the sudden and complete elimination of his fodder...err...allies. The ogre is unprepared when the rest of the party focuses their fury upon him. While Dur's trick arrow shatters as it bounces of the stone wall, Lilly's holy flame sears ogre flesh and elicits an angry howl. His howl is cut short when an arrow blooms in his mouth, piercing the fleshy back of his throat. The howl turns into a pathetic gurgle as he reflexively bites down and breaks off the end of the long shaft.
Toki makes his glorious leaping charge, axes glittering in the lamplight, only to fall several feet short of the mark. Sprawled upon the steps, the ogre moves down and attempts to kick the bard off the steps. Fortunately, the northern skald is just able to roll himself down the stairs enough that the big grime covered boot skims past without actually connecting.
After the ogre moves down the steps, another pair of frogfolk poke their heads through the arch and fire their bows one at Rilkus and one at the big bearfolk. The first frogfolk manages a spectacular shot that actually finds a seam in Rilkus' armor. The iron point drives into gears and mechanisms. There is a loud *SPROING* as....something...gives way inside the gearforged as he feels a momentary weakness and spinning as his balance mechanism is thrown off.
The second frogfolk, overcomes his own panic and fear. Finding that center and happy swampy place within his mind he sends his arrow flying toward Beordt. The shaft slams into the bearfolk driving its tip clear through his meaty shoulder.
Toki is prone on the stairs. Rilkus takes 11 from a critical hit (this does not include your resistance) and you are at Disadvantage on your next attack. Beordt takes 8 damage from an arrow. D'Nateh is on the stairs below Toki and Rilkus. The two frogfolk at the top of the stairs have partial cover. Party is up!

Rilkus stomped towards the frogmen who were peppering him with projectiles, but the damage to his gears was immense. "Ahhaha! Have too many beans for dinner last night little man?" The ogre laughs as Toki's thunderous wave rolls across his frame, doing little more than rippling the fat around his jowls and belly.
The frogmen beyond are not quite so lucky. One manages to duck behind the opening avoiding the worst of the blast. The other does not. The wave hits like a sledgehammer. Bones and cartilage liquefy and blood splatters as the blast slams him against the wall. What remains, simply slides to the ground quite dead.
D'Nateh slips past Rilkus and then Toki to nip at the ogres heels but she's unable to sink her teeth past the big creatures armor. Rilkus tries to attack through the bard, but simply cannot work his way past within the narrow confines of the stairs. The same is true of Beordt who, unable to close with the enemy, picks up another javelin and with a solid heave hits the ogre in the leg. The pile up on the stairwell, make things difficult for Dur to get a clean shot with his bow. But at the last moment an opening blossoms and the little ratfolk sinks another feathered shaft into the ogres shoulder.
From the shadows, Dacknar also chooses his moment carefully and manages another hit with his own bow that leaves the ogre bleeding from his other arm.
Yet the beast seems to take all of this in stride, as if it were just another day's work in the slaver's tower. For just a moment he looks at Toki and then points a big meaty finger out toward the crates beyond Beordt. His eyes sparkle with glee as he gives the bard a toothy grin. As the bard tracks the pointing finger, the mace comes swinging in from right to left. D'Nateh feels the wind from the blow as it passes over her canine head. Rilkus instinctively flinches back as Beordt shouts a too late warning.
The blow catches Toki directly and squarely in the side. Ribs shatter, his air leaves his chest in an explosive decompression. His kidney ends up somewhere above whatever remained of his stomach and liver as he is knocked from the stairs in the general direction of the crates beyond Beordt. That is where he lays. For the second time in such a short span, his life quickly ebbing away upon the cold stone floor.
Moments later, the remaining frogman pokes around the corner and shoots an arrow into the hyena on the stairs. The little arrow, catches D'Nateh in the side eliciting a pained *yip* as the frogman slips back under cover.
Toki takes 17 points of damage and is on the floor below the stairs. The stairs are only 5' wide with the ogre blocking them halfway (15') up. D'Nateh is engaged in melee with the ogre. Rilkus is 5' behind and can engage as well since D'Nateh is in animal form. Anyone else will need a Reach or Ranged weapon/spell to reach the ogre on the stairs.
Beordt: Since you couldn't engage in melee, I assumed you went ranged and threw a javelin. (There are still a few at the base of the stairs where the other ogres died.)
D'Nateh takes 4 damage from an arrow.
Only the ogre and one frogfolk remain at the moment. The frogfolk has partial cover.

Joints creaking and gears whirling, Rilkus forced himself towards the ogre. His body was having great difficulty in doing what he wanted, but through sheer force of will he was making it happen. With ponderous steps the gearforged advanced...and either leapt or fell towards (it could easily have been either) the ogre, his hammer raised and carrying with it the full weight of his very heavy body.

| DM - Tareth |
In the end, it was the ogre's slow reflexes and his overconfident feelings of invulnerability that was his doom. Perhaps he should have taken better care of his armor. Perhaps if he had been hugged more as a youth or given the bigger bones to gnaw rather than always having to wait for his older, and much bigger, siblings to finish before he could pick through the leftovers. Perhaps then, he would have retreated, backed down. Called for help. But this was not his way and so standing in the open upon the stairs he succumbed to the combined fury of the companions from a doomed ship.
N'Dateh, although her teeth could not quite slip past the ogre's scaled armor, provided just enough of a distraction that the hammer blow from Rilkus lands. The silver headed hammer shatters its right knee. Unable to pivot on the nearly useless leg, Beordt hits with another javelin that lances into it thick, fleshy belly.
It turns and sees Lilly calling more of the burning light, but it simply takes much too long for the warnings to travel from his beady black eyes, filter into and be interpreted by his fat addled, slow witted mind, and then have it send some sort of signal to his body to actually duck. No the signal arrives much too late and the searing fire envelopes him once again.
Blinded by the light, pierced by arrow and javelin, leg shattered, he never really saw the final blow coming. From the shadows across the chamber an arrow flies. Doom written upon its feathered shaft. It catches the ogre just above the ear. Usually a head injury is not much of a challenge for such a creature, but this time the steel tip found a weak spot in the usually hard skull. It cleaves through the thin bone and into the brain where eventually it hits something vital.
The ogre's eyes roll to the back of its head and it's massive body collapses forward on the staircase causing Rilkus and D'Nateh to leap back or be caught beneath its dying weight.
As the ogre's life ends, Dur races to Toki's battered body. Although not what one might consider a bonecutter by any means, he'd seen enough death and bodies in his time to know a thing or two. It is good fortune for the fallen bard, that ratfolk are not a usually a squeamish people. For having to gently tuck a kidney back into place, reset the ribs, and then sew the whole bloody mess up in a matter of a few life saving moments would have surely been impossible for one with a weaker stomach. However, Dur was up to the task and although Toki's wounds still ooze blood and fluid, the worst of the danger appears to be past.
At the top of the stairs, the now lone frogfolk sharpshooter quickly counts the odds as he peaks around the corner. Although his mathematical skills really don't run to truly knowing the overall odds of his survival at this point, they do tell him one simple thing. Run you idiot! And so he does. The slap of his feet dashing down the hall echo in the now quiet chamber.
Ogre is dead. Frogfolk has fled. Toki is stabilized. Combat over.

Slowly Rilkus got to his feet, though it was with great difficulty. It had been pure fortune that his hammer blow had landed when in reality all he had done was fall down in the right direction. The irony of the statement was not lost on him. Regardless, he needed some time for his body to heal itself.
