Doktor Middens |
Doktor Middens examines the hedge. Taking a close look at the flowers and the vines he tries to plot a low impact (to the plant) way of cutting a safe passage though it

But seems to get more tangled in the thorns.

Blanka tries to climb over the hedge, figuring he can always cut it down later.

Blanka is able to climb over the hedge with ease, with Rhin jumping from branch to branch while avoiding all the thorns. The Doktor's attempt to cut through is unsuccessful and some thorns gets the better of him afterall. 3 piercing to Doktor. Afterwards Simeek is able to cut through from afar. While Simeek is successful, it is rather clumsy and makes a bit of noise. Grimmnir, Simeek, and The Doktor are able to pass through without further issue though.
Entering through the hedge the group discovers the inside of the garden. The luscious, foot-tall grass has collapsed under its own weight, lying in flat waves across the perimeter of this carefully cultivated field. Smooth white stones form neat paths across the lawn, decorated with fallen blossoms from flowering trees.
Upon entering the garden, a giant badger is seen sniffing the hedge's border and moving towards the group. The badger hasn't acknowledged the group yet or shown aggression.

The group rushes into the bushes and holds their breath. Grimmnir is breathing particularly loudly but a quick elbow in the side helps her focus on being more quiet. The giant badger continues to follow the hedge until it gets to where the group came through. It sniffs around for a moment before retracing it's steps and eventually disappearing from sight.
Now that the badger has left, the group takes a closer look at their surrounding. You find yourselves in tall hedges that are trimmed into geometric shapes and that sprout foot-long roses. White paths curve between them, creating a meditative path through the garden.
Suddenly, the group hears the distinct sound of kittens from nearby, though upon investigating no kittens are found.
Blanka Cassa |
"Huh. That's weird. Why would we hear kittens where there aren't any. Just the sounds make my mouth water!" proclaims Blanka.
GM redeux |
The Doktor doesn't see any sign of the kittens but while searching Doktor finds himself decorated with an assortment of flowers! And nothing can explain why! A few moments later a kobold appears out of nowhere in the middle of the group but doesn't move at all and seems to be some kind of illusion! Blanka Casa, however, notices a tiny dragon hiding in the rose bushes casting the spell. Everyone knows that the Hookclaw clan would be ecstatic to win the favor of a dragon, tiny though she may be!!

Doktor Middens sees the little dragon then looks around very quickly. "Here little kittens. I have some cookies for you." He then sees the illusionary kobold. "Are you the kitten? Well would you like a cookie?"

Blanka moves towards this dragon, and then kneels down in supplication.
"Oh great wyrm, you have come to bless us with your benevolence. What can such minor drakes us as do for you? Please do not feel you need to reduce your awesomeness to remain at a size unthreatening to we mere kobolds. Bless us with your power!"
Taking liberties with that roll.

grimmnir: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
simeek: 1d20 ⇒ 2
Grimmnir chases the lights frantically meanwhile Simeek unenthusiastically tries poking them with his halberd.
The dragon flutters more at Rhin's dancing and Grimmnir's fruitless chase, but seems disappointed in Blanka's words and Simeek's reaction "You mock me, but your friends praise me! I may be small but i am a dragon!!" a roar is heard but doesn't seem to come from the dragon. She then comes out from the rose bushes, "You may call me Irilini, please tell me about yourselves. Are there more of you? I am most interested! "
Blanka Cassa |
Blanka was 100% sincere
"No, my noble wyrm. You misunderstand me. I prostrate myself before you in humble supplication! Please don't eat me!"
GM redeux |
No worries, hope all is well
The Dragon gives Blanka a curious look, "Oh, of course, of course! I wanted to see your reaction!" To Grimmnir, "Tell me more about this tribe, they are gullible you say? I am impressed with you and your friends, I would like to visit your tribe sometime!"
If anyone else would like to continue to interact go for it, otherwise I'll assume details are exchanged so Irilini can visit the Hookclaw clan.
Irilini spends a few more moments talking with the kobolds before saying "Well, I'm off. See your tribe soon!" with an enthusiastic laugh and then vanishing in the blink of an eye.
The group continues through the hedges until you see a strange building that lacks any walls and only has a round, sloped roof held up by a ring of pillars around the edges. At the center of the structure is a glass-enclosed interior, with a few couches and a locked chest.
Approaching the building, you see tables, benches, vases with flowers in the structure. Spotting no traps, the group enters and tries to open the closet door but there is an old, rusted lock preventing it from opening.

Doktor Middens |
Doktor raise an eye at the spinning trimmer. "Ach! That is curious. Be careful with that, don't want to be cutting the wrong hedges with that"
He tries to figure out how and why it is working that way.
Crafting: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
GM redeux |
Doktor isn't able to learn much from the hedge trimmer, but he is certain it is not some kind of mechanical-based movement.
The group gathers the rest of the treasure and heads out of the structure when the ground begins to shake violently. Holes open up in the pristine grass of the lawn, rapidly filling with water. Suddenly huge chitinous lawn crawfish emerge from the tunnels and begin to surround the group; claws chopping in anticipation.
