A second or so after pressing the fob button, the foldable doors roll up accompanied by the whine of stressed motors and general clanking and scratching noises. A large space is revealed containing a maze of piled boxes. Hanging above the entrance is a thicket of meat hooks, gleaming in the thin light that shone in shafts from the skylights above. Of course there was no real sky, but the omnipresent illumination of the city lights studding the vaulted cavern roof far above.
A musty odour wafts out, vaguely reminiscent of a butcher shop mingled with something earthy. Stepping inside the temperature is markedly lower, but not enough to be useful for refrigeration. Presumably the refrigeration machinery is in here somewhere, but now you've got to find it.
Dr Munroe gave a low whistle, "This is a big place! A proper exploration will take some time!"
It'll take you 8 hours to find the machinery and the control panel unless you roll a DC 20 Kn: Engineering check which cuts it down to half an hour.

That looks like cart marks. This must be the place that Mr Lyrin told us about.
Ignoring the crates for now, Zendara goes straight to looking for the refrigeration system, eventually finding the control panel.

Doctor, if you want to get people organized to look through the crates, Xindyra and I can hop over to the repair shop and get what we need to fix the refrigeration unit. Sound good?

As Xindyra knocks on the glass, twins sets of eyes blink open. The twins had two heads sharing one body and this arrangement seemed to cause them anguish, or perhaps it was due to being woken suddenly. Either way they thrashed about causing the giant glass bottle to pitch over and smash into tiny fragments, spreading a wave of noxious formaldehyde out over the nearby floor and crates.

Edwin stepped back putting a create between himself and the and the twins before casting a defensive spell. It's just as well the crate was there for the cruel mutations afflicting the twins gave them twisted arms with unnatural reach! They have 10' reach but Edwin has partial cover which IIRC prevents AOOs.

Sorry for the delay.
With a flash of insight, Yukarii knew how to deal with this sort of foe. She sent out a ray of frost hoping to slow the twins down. The ray left a tracery of frost on their slick skin and their movements became sluggish.
Rounds of slow: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 4) = 5
Edwin shield of force snapped into place and then he moved in to stab the twins. He managed to break past their guard and land a decent cut, but their pickled hide was tougher than old leather and the resulting wound was shallower than he might have liked. It has DR.
While continuing to sing, Zendara took careful aim and loosed. Her arrow smacked into the twins and stood there quivering as it jutted out of their chest. Despite liquids oozing from the wound the twins didn't flinch or register the damage in any way.
Xindrya stepped away and downed an extract that made her skin take on the rugged texture of an old oak tree.
Pleased with the results of her spell, Yukarii sent out another ray. The twins nearly managed to twist aside but again it landed, building up yet more frost.

COMBAT OVER
Dr Xavier Munroe
Breathing hard, Dr Munroe took a moment to compose himself before muttering, "Ye gods! How horrible was that?!"
DM Fang Dragon
Before you could reply to Marek something really strange happened, a pair of spider bots burst into the warehouse. They vaulted over the piles of boxes and moving as one skewered the remains and scuttled off with it. City runes appeared in the air behind them."[/b]
Zendara
Those bots just said that they were happy that we killed... uh, whatever that was. That it was an old enemy. ... I'm hoping that means they like us now, but ah, I can't be certain of that. I mean, they didn't attack us, but you know. Watch your step just in case.

Xindyra wipes off the brainy fluids from her rapier. Well, making some slashing motions first, then wiping the rest on the twins' corpse just before it gets snatched away.
"As glad i am they are dead, for more than one reason, it's sad their minds degenerated into that state. I'm inclined to consider this a mercy kill."
To Zendara's comment of being liked,
"Like might be a strong word, we're talking about constructed metallic creatures. Rejoicing is an odd word to be using, though, by them. But maybe they at least deem us not an enemy for now, which i'll gladly take."
Edwin J. Whiskers, Esq.
After resting for a moment and gathering his wits Edwin asked, "Alright, what's next? Resume searching the crates, or head to the repair shop?"
Zendara
Both? Why don't we make this our base, since we have to come back to fix the refrigeration system anyway, but Xindyra and I can go to the repair shop and find the part we need, since we know what to look for.
(Zendara also wants to go get another upgrade if possible, and obviously it would be better to not have Yukarii around for that.)
Dr Xavier Munroe
Dr Munroe frowned for a moment before saying emphatically "I think we should all go." said Dr Munroe, "If we got separated and something happened, that wouldn't do... So uh lead on!"
Perhaps reluctantly the girls lead the group outside and along a twisty network of narrow garishly illuminated streets. This looked like a shopping area but with animated signs and strange manikins in the windows that waved and tracked your motion.
"That's more than a little creepy..." muttered Dr Munroe as you passed a large display window behind which were several dozen of these manikins in outlandish dress, all eerily waving as one as you passed.
A couple more turns and you were outside a small warehouse which was labelled Tech Repair and Vapes in Marin. There was a small office/shop attached to the front, and as you approached an automated glass door started revolving. Inside you can see a number of devices the ladies recognise as terminals along the walls and at the far end is something they call a conveyor belt which disappears through a hatch in the wall and runs into the warehouse.
There were a number of signs in Marin, most of which were uninteresting but one seemed relevant...
Zendara
Zendara went up and examined the terminal, looking to see if the system could get her what she needed to both repair the holo and the refrigeration unit.
Need a power unit and an indrium amplifier for the holo ... a nanotech printer module would also work, and for the refrigeration unit, it was nanobot printer schematic X-356223-B2, or an electronics kit to jury-rig it, but of course better to have the correct part.
DM Fang Dragon
It takes Zendara a while to get to grips with the terminal, the system is complex with a bewildering array of operations. It turns out there isn't just one type of indrium amplifier, there's dozens with varying pros and cons. Likewise there's a great variety of power sources, none of which were quite right but she discovered voltage regulators which could adapt it although those needed heatsinks and naturally there were whole catalogues of those to choose from.
After half an hour she made her selections and the terminal informed her they would be ready in sixteen hours. Apparently they will be printed to order at a central location and later transferred here. While exploring the voluminous menu systems, Zendara uncovered a menu which let her see the print queue and discovered vast print jobs seemingly ordered by Vesta for all sorts of suspiciously military looking hardware...
Hanging around here for sixteen hours?

I'll get back to you re modules. Yes the repair materials for the registration unit are in the print job too. Incidentally they are going to be bulky so you will need several trips to haul them back to the meat processing plant.
