I have been really excited for 2e. I like the flexibility this system gives the GM.
And, since you brought it up, here's a bit of my background on 2e:
I headed up the local PFS Playtest group running the entirety of Doomsday Dawn. Then, our playtest group decided to continue and have so far played Book 1 of Kingmaker in which we're all playing goblins who are trying to prove to the longshanks that we're "civilized."
I am also getting ready to GM this scenario on Wednesday for some of the local GMs and Venture officers so we can all get some experience and questions answered before we roll it out to the entire PFS group in September.
That's awesome! I for one am happy with what I have seen so far. As a player who loves playing non-caster gnomes and underdog race/class combinations I feel like I have more flexibility right from the start.
Male Human Ex-Aspis Ruffian HP 17/17| AC 18 | F +4 R +7 W +6 | Perception +6 | Hero 1/3
I haven't gotten to play it since the Playtest, but I enjoyed it then - and most of my complaints got addressed. (Though since I was mainly doing it PbP the pace was a little hectic)

You can't add the PFS2 factions to aliases unless they've been created as a PFS2 character at the moment.
When they become available you'll do so by going to Account Settings in the dropdown under My Account, then click the Edit button next to the appropriate alias. Right now if it's just a general alias though, you'll only have the PFS1 factions available.
The start date for Gameday VIII has been pushed out two weeks to September 9th. I'll send a PM to everyone about a week before to muster everyone. Sorry for the inconvenience. Below is a copy of the email I received today. Let me know if you have any questions. I'll continue to update if I get any more information. Thank you for your patience.
Email to postpone start date:
Subject: Gameday VIII Delayed
Hey Everyone,
I have some unfortunate news. I regret to inform you all that we will have to postpone Gameday VIII by 2 weeks.
This would place our new dates for Gameday at: 09 Sept 2019 - 17 Nov 2019
WHAT IS GOING ON? WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?
As most of you are aware, the majority of the GM’s have not received their scenario support for the Convention to include a good portion of the Specials. With Tonya occupied by other duties this weekend, we realized as a team that we are very unlikely to see the remainder of scenario support drop by Monday the 26th. Multiple avenues were discussed and what seems to be the best solution is to push Gameday back by two weeks. This will allow enough time for the GM’s to receive their scenarios and prep them.
BUT WHAT IF WE ALREADY HAVE OUR SCENARIOS, CAN WE START THEM?
Please hold off until the new start date to be able to eligible for your boon rewards. I understand this is a large inconvenience, we are doing everything we can to make this work. Part of that is to have everyone one the same start / end times rather than scattered.
We apologize for the inconvenience that this may cause, but we want all our GMs to have a chance to shine.
HOW DO I NOTIFY MY PLAYERS?
Go ahead and post the news to your tables. Feel free to copy this email if you wish. We will be posting notices in all the PBP lodges as well as the Gameday VIII Announcement page.
I know this is not what we hoped to do, and I’m sorry. Thank you for understanding that we’re scrambling to fix this.
If you have any other questions please don’t be afraid to ask.
We are less than a week away from finally getting underway. I know it's been a long wait. Can everyone please check-in. I just want to make sure everyone is still here.
FYI: I'm going to be out of town without access to a computer starting next Saturday (9/14) morning (US/Pacific time). I return the next day (9/15) in the early evening.
Given that I can post Friday evening before I leave and Sunday evening when I get back, I hope this will keep disruption to a minimum or non-existent.

Everyone starts with 1 hero point. You can spend your hero point to reroll any d20 roll or you can spend all of your hero points if you have the dying condition to stablize.

I've got a question about exploration activities. I chose "Scout" which gives the party a +1 circumstance bonus to their initiative rolls. Does an exploration activity benefit end when confronted with a challenge like this one, where it opens up with diplomacy and knowledge checks?
Hopefully I start running Age of Ashes tonight and this is pbp has been a great primer.

I would allow the scout ability to remain active. You're still more vigilant of the creature. (I forgot to add the +1 to everyone's initiative; though wouldn't have made a difference this time).
I did allow Diplomacy as a possibility for everyone's Initiative check for this encounter since that is what everyone was doing. The only PC it benefited was Arfsnarf so I rolled Perception for everyone except Arfsnarf for whom I rolled Diplomacy instead.
I really like the new initiative system. It's a lot more dynamic face to face when the PCs start understanding it and negotiate what they should roll instead of Perception.
As we are about to enter combat, could I kindly ask for some aid.
This is my first try with P2 and I am not 100% sure I do it correctly.
I have two actions or three? And I use one to get in melee ranger and one to attack. Correct?
N gnome (feytouched) cleric 2 l HP 28/28 | AC 14 | F +6 R +4 W +10 | Perc +8 | Stealth +0 | speed 25 ft | focus 1/1 | spells 1 heal (2/3), fear, fear, magic weapon; C (1st) daze, disrupt undead, guidance, forbidding ward, stabilize; mage hand, message innate (1st): detect magic, electric arc | Active Conditions: ---
You have three actions. So, you could use one to move in, one to attack, and you would have one left. If you want the benefit of your shield, you should probably use your 3rd action to Raise Your Shield.
Hey folks. This is an FYI that I'm going to be away on a camping trip this weekend Nov2-3 (US/Pacific time), and unable to post until I return on the evening of the 3rd. Please bot as necessary.
Gameday officially ends November 17th. This doesn't impact the scenario at all. The only difference is that it will be reported early. We will still continue to finish the scenario to its completion.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Sparkin will continue farther into the museum.

Carefully framed spellbook pages hang along this room’s walls, while eldritch relics stand in small display cases in the room’s center. Her voice is thin and reedy, but eerily familiar. “Congratulations! Let me spice up that punch a bit for you—to celebrate, of course!”

Pretty sure this is her.
That's actually a memory of yours. That's a manifestation of Calisro Benarry from the new initiate party.
