Reincarnate & Archetypes (and FCB)

Rules Questions

Ok, Maskor, 1/2 Orc Witch 5 (Scarred Witch Doctor), has had what is known as a bad day at the office; having acquired a large hole in his chest cavity...

Thankfully, his friends retrieved his body and procured a reincarnate spell. Before we closed last session, we rolled a 63 = he's coming back as a halfling. Now to rebuild the character.

1) Race
He had a +2 to int, Sacred Tattoo, Intimidating, City Raised, Darkvision and Orc Blood.
If I understand correctly he keeps +2 int as it is mental and City Raised (proficiencies are mental as they are learned knowledge). As physical stuff he loses intimidating, dark vision and Orc blood. Sacred Tattoo is a luck bonus - does this qualify as mental or physical? (IMO, it should be gone, as the tattoos are, and I wouldn't let you get them re-applied).

He gains a -2 Str, +2 Dex, is now small and has a 20' base speed, halfling luck, keen senses, and sure footed. Can he take alternate racial abilities (for example war slinger or outrider to replace sure footed? (I don't think so - those feel like trained, ie. mental, abilities).

2) Classes & Archetypes (and FCB)
Ok, this is where it gets a little complicated. Scarred Witch Doctor is a racially restricted archetype - orc only. Does he lose the archetype and become a standard witch (with the associated changeover of hexes and abilities; he would lose Fierce Intelligence, Hex Scar, Fetish Mask and Scar Shield).
As I don't like the 1/2 orc witch FCB, he has taken his FCB bonuses as HP so far, so that doesn't need to change. However, can he take the halfling one ( +1/4 to CL for patron spells) going forwards? If I had taken my race specific FCB, what would happen to it?

First, I agree the tattoos are gone.
However, if as a witchdoctor Maskor would have been able to apply it to himself or others, I don't see why he couldn't make new ones for himself. If an actual shaman or tribe elder is needed, then no, they are gone.
Mostly the description implies they work by personal conviction, so I would myself allow him to reapply them .

Since the reincarnate spell specificaly states its a new body hes coming into, I would deny the scarshield until a new set of scars could form, but otherwise I would rule that he could keep the archetype.
I assume Maskor leaned heavily into his orc heritage, and since he soul/mind is unchanged, he could arguably end up even more dedicated to his previous racial identity.
In other words, since this happened in game I would allow him to keep his Archetype.

As the spell specifies they keep class abilities, that will include archetype stuff and hexes.

Sacred Tattoo: wrote:
Many half-orcs decorate themselves with tattoos, piercings, and ritual scarification, which they consider sacred markings. Half-orcs with this racial trait gain a +1 luck bonus on all saving throws. This racial trait replaces orc ferocity.

They apply these tattoos to themselves, so after the reincarnate, they can do it again. [I could see not getting the benefit until time is spent to re-apply. I also agree that the Scarshield should wait for the scars.]

I would suggest he soon get a Hat of Disguise. Then he can look like the Half-Orc he was.
