Hey Supervillan got a slot open for a friendly neighborhood bard-slinger? :D

Feast of Ravenmoor | Dead Man's Debt

Hi Lynn, there are two slots free at present. You can sign up here.

I should point out that this is quite a dangerous scenario to 'play up' in. Current sign-ups are two level 9s and two level 7s I believe. I've played with all of them before - the level 9s are strong characters.

You're used to risk, after the last scenario though :)

Devil hates a coward right? I put my name on the sheet, might help drag the APL down a little and maybe make it a tad easier. Plus finally got over that money hump so i bought some really awesome armor for Lynn(hopefully it'll be enough)

Hi SV (and pleased to meet you, Lyn!)

Player name: Yours is mined
Character name: Antonella Schiavo
PFS number: 69095-4
Faction: Silver Crusade
Progression speed: Probably normal. What subtier are we playing?
Day job (roll): No day job

I know you are familiar with Antonella’s shenanigans, GM.

For my fellow players, Antonella is a paladin-monk hybrid who can pump her AC up quite high. However, unless she’s smiting, her damage output is not quite where I’d like it for her level.

Fortunately she can smite quite a bit ;)

Very much looking forward to this game. ;-)

Looking forward to playing at your table again supervillan...do I need to buy another manticore-bearded cloak for this one?

Flyn will be 9th level for this one (he'll be taking a 6th level in Ranger (Infiltrator)...will be leveling him up soon...

On another note, I have the Model Pathfinder Agent (Grand Lodge) boon...noticed we have a couple of characters that are lower tier...this boon should help them a little bit:

If you are playing an adventure in the higher subtier, you may confer one of the following benefits upon each of the PCs who are 3 or more levels lower than you for the duration of the scenario: a +1 bonus to AC, a +1 bonus on all saving throws, or +1 hit point per level.

I'll confer whichever benefit those characters prefer...

Looking forward to playing with everyone!

After the craziness that was the previous scenario i think i'm one for the AC or HP bonus, haven't decided yet. Locked into normal progression speed for this level sadly, but i think i'm gonna start doing slow so i can build a few more prestige points back up.

Lynn is mostly utility here, she's only got 1 damaging spell and relies on her pistol(s) for damage. Recently got a huge upgrade in terms of armor, which now that i look at it again i realize i calculated wrong, i added my leather and chain shirt bonus's together like a derp, that'll be fixed by the time this post comes out though.
So yeah i'll prolly go ahead and grab that there +1 AC bonus if no one minds, though hopefully i won't need it.

Bringing an innate +6 morale bonus against fear to the table for anyone within 30ft before i add ontop of that inspire courage, or any other performance, due to the shiny new chain shirt, Lynn'll stay towards the back and provide what help she can, as well as many uses of a CLW wand i've got 17 charges on one and a fresh one after last scenario.

Feast of Ravenmoor | Dead Man's Debt

Oh, manticore-beard is so last season! All the cool kids are wearing coatl-feather this season. How chic you want to look whilst you're exploring the tapestry is up to you Flyn, but the odds of finding a high-society wedding party are fairly slim :)

That's a lovely Grand Lodge boon - where does it appear? Would be nice for my level 10 Grand Lodge cleric.

Lynn, just to note that Rallying armour does not stack with Inspire Courage for bonuses against Fear, they are both morale bonuses. I think that's why the armour gives a +6 for characters that have an ability like Inspire Courage, instead of its normal +4.

Right right, gonna have to read up on morale bonuses again, but yeah that makes sense. But i believe it would still give a bonus to things aside from fear(the attack and damage, again i'll have to look at all that jazz)

Oh and Lynn, also your prestige is halved when you slow track.

Feast of Ravenmoor | Dead Man's Debt

The Rallying armour property only boosts the save vs fear - 5000gp is a reasonable price for +4 or +6 to saves vs fear in a 30' radius.

To boost Inspire Courage bonuses to attack and damage, check out the banner of the ancient kings and the dervish sikke.

Zaarah is right about slow track - you get half the xp and half the prestige. It's great if you want to squeeze in a few more adventures with a particular character, and you can decide from one adventure to the next which progression speed to go at (you used to have to decide level by level, but that changed).

I'm afraid Flyn is pretty behind the times when it comes to fashion :)

I traded a boon I got, either from PBP Outpost last year or Gameday the year before, to GM Hmm for this one...it was a boon she got from PBP Gameday VI in 2017 (Boon #1). You have to spend 1 PP to become a part-time instructor at the Grand Lodge which lets you give those bonuses. The boon also has a bonus that allows you to get free supplies (50 gp per level) via the Society (three times only) for any sessions where a Venture-Captain of your choice (I chose Jorsal Lautenbury) provides the mission briefing. Any unused supplies have to be returned at the end of the scenario...

Hey GM, after you let me know about the FAQ on +3 bows, I decided to go into a different direction with my purchases:

Upgrade to +2 Mithral shirt - 3000
Upgrade to +2 Elven Rune Cloak - 3000
Bracers of Falcon's Aim - 4000
Cold Iron Arrows (50) - 5 gp
Blunt Arrows (20) - 2 gp

Bracers of Falcon's Aim will continually grant Flyn the benefits of Aspect of the Falcon spell without the spell's physical transformation; he'll get +1 to all ranged attacks and his critical multiplier when using his bow will now be 19-20/x3. He won't get the +3 competence bonus to Perception checks (his Lenses of Detection already grant a +5 competence bonus to Perception) .

Thanks again for pointing out the FAQ to me concerning magic bows, I appreciate it...

Feast of Ravenmoor | Dead Man's Debt

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news again Flyn, but the bracers took a hit from the nerf bat too. Here's the current version.

This was one of many changes in the 2nd printing of Ultimate Equipment.

To be fair the original was under-costed somewhat.

Grand Lodge

Male Elf Ranger (Inf) 6th / Monk (ZA) 3rd / Investigator (PD) 1st| HP: 87/87 | AC:25 T:17 FF:18 | CMB:11 CMD:27 | Saves F:+12 R:+18 W:+11 (+2 vs enchantments) | Init:+8 | Per: +21 | IP: 3/3 | Spells: Gravity Bow (x2), Psychic (x5)

Oh well back to the drawing board...I was wondering why it was cheaper than Bracers of Archery, should've figured it had been nerfed. I agree it was undervalued but can't see paying that much for something that's only good once a day. Seems like whenever they nerf something, they go too far the other way; with that nerf it's no better than having the spell (which I do)...

I'll stick with the two upgrades but definitely won't be doing those Bracers... probably run with the lesser archery ones but will research more first...

Thanks again... I'll Google it next time before I add anything else...got the Ultimate Equipment PDF not all thag long ago but I guess they don't update the actual manuals after release...

Or does anyone else have Use Magic Device? If not, Antonella can cope, but it’s better if she can get mage armor up early and often ;)

With that said, In an hour I'll be making my start to a very long commute to my relocation to the United States! I will likely have difficulty in posting but will try to get connected to the Airport Wifi during my long transits! I expect to be fully back to normal in 30 hours or so.

No worries Batpony. We're not due to get underway till Monday 11th.

Good luck with your relocation :)

Feast of Ravenmoor | Dead Man's Debt

I believe I have GM'd for or played alongside everyone at this table :)

For those I have not yet GM'd, I've a couple of bits of advice:

I like to run a fast-moving game, by pbp standards. At least one post per day. If you think you can't manage that minimum please let me know. I understand that real life gets in the way of gaming, and as a new dad I may find that I have days that I struggle too!

If you haven't already done so, please put a Bot Me spoiler in your profile with basic instructions for combat. I will bot you or delay you if you haven't posted within 24 hours of your turn coming up in a fight.

We will begin on Monday! (I'm on GMT by the way).

While I was thinking about purchases, I forgot this whole time that Kelumur has +5 competent bonus on Stealth checks from his +1 shadow mithral shirt.

Anyway, I'm either thinking of expanding Kelumur's dagger versatility to get 2 adamantine daggers (2x3002) or upgrading his silver dagger to a +1 ghost touch (+8000). Anyone have any thoughts or preferences which way I should go? Both are for very specific circumstances but far too many times I've seen players unprepared for those situations suffer.

Also, I've discovered that my silver P/S daggers have a -1 penalty on damage rolls, which I need to account for in future..

Nicely played, GM, with Aram Zey. Felt kind a guilty when I played Marnarius in Serpent's Rise a while back and the Aspis invaded the Grand Lodge and we faced Aram Zey. That scenario also portrayed him as a pompous ass but I thought it was just because it was portraying him from the Aspis point of view...but now I see that wasn't the case. Now I'm glad we...

For those that have played Serpent's Rise:

Sorry Kelemur, I somehow missed this post before. Don't think you could go wrong with either choice. I think you'd likely use the adamantine daggers a bit more as I think hardness and DR/adamantine is a bit more prevalent than incorporeal...but I also think running into an incorporeal creature without a ghost touch weapon would be much more dangerous than facing a DR/adamantine creature without an adamantine weapon...

That's funny as I just found out about the -1 silver damage not too long ago as well...never realized it before...and I wonder how many others don't know as I don't recall seeing it enforced/accounted for until recently...

Probably to account for the fact that silver doesn't hold an edge for poo. But yeah incorporeal targets are gonna be the bigger threat 'if' they show up and you don't have any heavy firepower casters. So i think i'd keep that one over the adamantine, even if adamantine daggers would make pretty great wall scaling tools.

A curious thing about the Tapestry: it specifically lacks compass directions. There is no North, South, East, West within the demiplane. But residents of the Tapestry still speak in terms of compass directions. This apparent contradiction isn't referenced in the scenario (or other Tapestry scenarios that I have played or run) although the lack of compass points is. I would surmise that residents, or their descendants, use compass points out of learned habit and use known landmarks as reference points. (Or, it's just a recurring continuity error).

Your wayfinder compass needles, should you examine them, will spin uselessly whilst you are within the tapestry demiplane.

Hello guys, the grappling hook idea is good. Let’s try that but Zaarah has super low strength so Flyn could throw and someone else needs to pull.

I didn't expect my arrow to hit anything but I was hoping it'd startle something if it was in the water and maybe give away the ambush if there was one...but maybe nothing's there after all...the gold looks mighty suspicious...and when Grodel mentioned being attacked by folk similar to us, I assumed Aspis. Guess I was wrong on both counts...

What's the range on throwing a grappling hook? It appears to be over 70' to the other side...Antonella flying over seems like it might be easier. What does everyone think?

Antonella flying makes a lot of sense!

I'm just about to go to bed.

If everyone is agreeable I am OK with drinking a potion of fly and getting over to the other side to start setting up a rope bridge, if you want to bot me, GM SV.

I believe we have at least 150' of rope and a grappling hook.

I think flying the rope over once we deal with the aspis is the best idea. Lynn is easily strong enough to support one end while the others go across. So we only need to anchor the recieving end. Then it's as simple as tying herself and swimming/jumping across.

I'll try to get a combat post out tonight during lunch, but no piercing attacks is gonna be hard. If they stay underwater

I misread the initial attack post...was thinking the underwater only affected those near the south...on the road now will repost when I get home...

How far does the water extend? Does it cover the entire map?

Feast of Ravenmoor | Dead Man's Debt

The high water extends as far as the rapids.

I assume the whole map is engulfed.

That's what I was wondering...must be a very powerful caster around to put the whole map under water...with the draugr giving negative levels and us in 15' deep water, along with the aforementioned and unseen caster, this could go south pretty quick...

Before I post my revised action, how tall are the rocks and how tall are the trees? I'm assuming some of the trees are probably higher than 15'...if so, where might they be?

ETA: I don't know spells very well, but if the caster raises the water level 15+ feet, won't the water disperse to a much lower level once it goes over the bank?
