Taking Thar aside a moment as he goes by "...hey...you better keep that on the down low, the bulls are seeing red..." likely referring to the crest of Cannith, a metallic bull.

Turning back to the device he reaches for the light and startles at the voice warning "Heh. Well hello beautiful...you certainly don't sound like a 300,000 year-old primal energy encapsulement usually sounds. How would you like to be handled?"

Wolfgang winks back at her. "Oh, I'm sure we can find _some_ use for it. For now tho,"

Wolfgang takes a step back send of black wave of black, brute anger into the door's lock.

Eldrich Blast, which hits with the force of a polearm, until it opens.

Stitch, visibly downtrodden from failing to find Alitia, goes to check on the Cannith and further tend to their wounds. Then finally goes to look for Blacklock.

"Can you fly this ship? I'm worried about the people in the sea. There's no land anywhere, they're just...swimming."

Stitch touches Blacklocks shoulder and with a quiet prayer casts Guidance.

+1d4 to an ability check of your choice.

Tharivol looks at Blacklock and hesitates a moment.

Wolfgang slams in the door. Normally, an airship's door of good quality would not give this strategy the time of day, as the concussive energy would just bounce on it. But in this case, this door seems to be of a lesser quality, which is perhaps strange, but fits with the rest of the ship being surprisingly spartan in decorations, giving you the sense that this is not a 'finished' ship. As such, Wolfgang feels like the door is giving, albeit slowly.

Blacklock returns to the panel and speaks to it. For a moment, nothing seems to happen, though Blacklock can feel subtle shifts in the flow of magic around him. After a pause, the 'eye' blinks and turns from red to yellow, then says: "Faulty eldritch flow pattern zeta-three, unable to attune to engine."

Stitch gives Blacklock divine support.

He scratched his rough beard puzzling over the device "I'm gonna try or else we'll have to jump...and yeah, it'd be a loooong swim. Yer lucky though doc, ye'd rust before ye drowned." then snapping his fingers "I think this isn't the elemental engine, but some kind of proxy construct for it. Somethin' more like you, doc."

He tried addressing it directly "Ship, what other systems besides the engine are you responsible for?"

"Well, actually, I am mostly made of silver and Litae wood, and am somewhat buoyant. I won't rust. Though I do need cleaning and polishing to look my best," Stitch scratches at a bit of drying blood splatter on the silver plating. "I um--what would you like me to do now? Should I keep watch? Do you need help here? Oh, I'm probably distracting you," Stitch stops talking and takes a step back from Blacklock, giving him room to work.

I'm back.

After hesitating a brief moment, Tharivol replies loudly for the whole crew to hear, "I dispatched the Purple Peril! These Cannith's live, because of my actions. They should come help clear the deck. Stitch will save their friends who can be saved. And those that cannot be saved will not need their valuables."

The dragonmarked elf turns getting closer to the Canniths and standing on something like a stage. "That's it, now. Enough moping. We were struck by a Purple Storm, you and us. My companions and I were lied to and contracted to crew for the Purple Pirate when he was impersonating a Professor from the University. Only when we spotted your craft did he reveal his true intentions. And, we were given the opportunity to jump from his airship without a magicked falling token, as opposed to participate in taking your craft."

"Now, the Purple Fish Eater has received his reward for his cowardly behavior, and we have received ours: life. Now, join us! We are far from civilization. Tell us your story, and help us bring this airship alive. I've a gig in a couple of days, and I shan't be late."

Persuasion: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

He tries to identify the captain and other officers, so he can loot him of valuables.

Wolfgang keeps at it and the door feels like it will give soon, but not yet.

Meanwhile, Blacklock and Stitch stand in front of a panel and discuss with it... the panel replies, it's light yellow: "This entity oversees the elemental engines and interfaces with the pilot. At this time, I feel no connection with the elemental though."

Tharivol speaks to the Cannith, which seems unconvinced. One of them steps forth and replies: "You're looting the dead. Pirates loot the dead. Which are you?"

"Hmm...it must still be there though, otherwise we'd have already crashed. Alright hon, you mentioned a link being broken, maybe I can fix it? Wheres the nearest access panel to zeta-three?"

Tharivol's smile creases to a thin line and replies to the Cannith, "Looting the dead? Wake up! Do you know who I am? I'm Tharivol Galanodel d'Phiarlan! And I just saved our lives."

"I'm collecting valuables for the living. Some will be my share for my actions. The same as when I entertain a room."

"Now, what are you doing? Besides insulting me, I don't see you contributing to our situation here. Get up and do something. Help Stitch with the living. Help me with the dead. Help Blacklock with the controls. Help Wolfgang inventory your cargo. JUST DO SOMETHING productive! Otherwise, go swimming with the pirates. Whining annoys me."

Persuasion: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

Tharivol, your speech felt a lot more like intimidation than persuasion, so I'll adjudicate as such. Let me know if there's something I'm missing that would make it persuasion.

Blacklock, the control panel takes a moment then says: "This information requires authorization. Please provide level 1 access code."

During this conversation, Tharivol walks up to the Canniths and explains himself. They lower their eyes, nod: "Aye! Yes! Let's see what we can find below deck." says one of the three survivors and they climb down the wide ladder leading to the hull of the airship.

Intimidation requires a threat. Tharivol made no threat nor implied one. Plus, he revealed his true identit which is an entertainer and not anyone in power over the Canniths. The speech is like a tough coach who’s yelling at his team.

Snickering "Tch...just kidding." adding sarcastically "I feel like a stroll anyways, let me just search the entire vessel." before frustratingly searching the entire vessel for the jacked up conduit.

Stitch will aid Blacklock to grant advantage.

you can also add the 1d4 from guidance

Investigation, aided and guided: 1d20 + 4 + 1d4 ⇒ (11) + 4 + (2) = 17

Blacklock was distracted, he started to wonder what other tricks Moonsong left for them. Luckily, Stitch was there to keep him grounded as he tracked down the nebulous vortex.

Blacklock, when anyone aids anyone to do anything, you get Advantage, and can roll twice, taking the better of the two.

Indeed :D

"Otherwise, go swimming with the pirates." I’m not sure how that is not a threat?

There's still no threat. It's a choice like everything else Tharivol suggested. Look. Take it how you want.

I admit that I also took it as Intimidation the first time I read it, but with the "hard coach pep talk" modifier, I see it now. It's like a "be useful or I don't have time for you!" kinda thing. Yeah?

It's the first time I hear that coach do not intimidate players! That they do not wield the power to punish as much as the power to reward. For me, references to threats, in the context of bodies lying everywhere and boarding as pirates and killing friends to make things worst, I call intimidation. On the other hand, a call to a higher purpose, a request for self-sacrifice in order to turn the odds, or asking for a favour, that's persuasion. Coaches can do either and often do both. As well, keep in mind that Tharivol is looting their friends' dead bodies. That also sets the tone.

Blacklock and Stitch spread out and start figuring out how energy and commands flow between the control panel and the engine. It takes a bit of time, as most things are not in plain sight. However, they realize this ship is not as well built as regular airships. Panels, latches, all are easier to open or break. Finally, they seem to have located a cable that has been detached. Blacklock can sense energy accumulated at the end of the cable.

Blacklock, please roll Arcana.

Stitch:
When you approached the panel, something stirred inside you. Please roll Insight.

Finally, Wolfgang's efforts pay off and the door blows open. Obvious to see from the entrance is a large soarwood table covered, some would say littered, with maps, navigation and writing instruments, and a small book note. Beyond, you see a small bed and a small bolted chest.

But then you see the three Canniths emerge from the hull and make a run for the gunwale, with the obvious intent of jumping overboard. They're carrying some kind of orange sphere covered with handles and marked with a white glyph roughly meaning "Emergency use only."

You can all roll initiative, unless you don't want to do something about the Canniths.
