Here and ready to go! I may switch some traits and skills around depending on final party makeup.
Maddie Elthis
Same, more or less. Still figuring out stuff like feats, languages, and equipment.
Remy Tomovici
A healer would probably be helpful.
Hileal Jothule
Thanks for inviting me to the game. Probably some kind of an divine caster would be nice for the party.
Edit: Made the basic alias quickly. Will update the rest tomorrow.
Hileal Jothule
Now Hilael is mostly done but still need to look rest of the equipment for him. GM do you want us to give you ideas for the Sihedron Heroes?
I've played through Shattered Star so I have a character from that ready for it if needed (the character can be found here). Most of the history etc is in Finnish but at least you see all the other info.
Maddie Elthis
For the final member, agreed on having a healer would be useful. Looking at the applicants, I think there's a few that would be good (my favorites, for whatever reason):
Mama Gnash (plus it would be fun to have a super old and super young character in the same game)
Mayken Vondel (she also seems like a really fun character in general)
Zagulo Maresh and Alina are also good submissions, but considering I've already been trying to post this for a day now, so I'm not going to delay the reply any more.
Remy Tomovici
I second votes for either Mama Gnash or Mayken.
Remy Tomovici
Awesome! The party has assembled!
As far as connections go, Remy would probably have conferred with Mayken seeking information about her "condition," so she would know about what happened to the monk. Hileal and Maddie would likely know who Remy is but not much about her, as she's only been in town a few months and tends to keep to herself.
@GM, I'm considering taking a drawback to gain an extra trait. Could I take a re-flavored version of Honored Fist of the Society? Normally, you have to be a member of the Pathfinder Society to take it.
GM Moonknight

Yes, you can take it.
Maddie Elthis
I’ll be able to finish up my stats soon, hopefully. This week is also crazy for homework, so it may be a bit. I could start RPing, though, as soon as Gameplay starts.
Remy Tomovici
Yes, you can take it.
Thanks! Deciding between Secret Shame and Vain for my drawback. I will update my sheet in the morning, but I am ready to begin RP when gameplay starts.
GM Moonknight
Hileal: Thanks for the reminder.
Ok, while you are working on finishing up stats, I also need a basic background for ONE Sidedron Hero per player. You don't have to stat her, but she needs to have finished Shattered Star or Rise of the Runelords (I'll be ok with Crimson Throne or Second Darkness, but would prefer SS or RotR).
I just need the basic idea of her (or him) -- name, race/class, history. Your character doesn't have to have a connection with them (unless you took Scion of Legend ... Mayken), but this will allow me to flesh things out for later in the campaign.
Mayken Vondel
Should our Sihedron heroes form a functional party (like a standard party with roles covered), or does it matter?
Remy Tomovici
I have a few options for Sihedron Heroes, depending on the others' choices. My top choice is Cosmo the Varisian bard.
Hileal Jothule
I have that Slayer/Horizon walker which I linked earlier who I've played in Shattered Star. I've also GM:ed RotR but don't have any character ready from that.
Hilael should also now be ready with equipment and rest of the stuff. He would probably at least now all of the others because he's already spent five years in the town even if some of it has been spent traveling around rest of Varisia.
Mayken Vondel
I have an archaeologist bard, the one named in Mayken’s background, and a bloodrager from RotRL. I have a slayer from CotCT.
Maddie Elthis
I don’t have any characters who have played all the way through any campaigns, but I do have a Paladin//Sorcerer in an ongoing RotRL gestalt game on the boards who I’d use if that worked.
Remy Tomovici
How about we use Hilael's slayer, Mayken's bard, Maddie's paladin/sorcerer. I will use a cleric of Sarenrae who went through RotRL.
Mayken Vondel
Well I think I'm done.
One nice thing, she can pick up Disable Device as a class skill due to her campaign trait. Unfortunately she can't afford thieve's tools yet. Of course just having the skill in class doesn't let her disarm magical traps. Maybe a 1 level dip into rogue at some point might be worth it?
Until 2nd level, when she can pick up the first part of Way of the Shooting Star, she's going to have to be an archer mostly. Can't really afford a starknife yet either.
She won't be a bruiser in combat but she should be a pretty good caster for a bard. Her archetype will let her cast from scrolls and spellbooks a time or two a day without consuming them.
EDIT: Actually a 1 level dip into Seeker Oracle would be much better than Rogue I think. Same trap abilities as rogue and Mayken won't need weapon finesse. She could take the Lore mystery, which fits her fluff very well, and get sidestep secret as her revelation. It would also give her access to divine spells so no need to UMD wands and so forth if she's the group's healer.
Hileal Jothule
That sounds good Mayken. I think both of our frontliners would enjoy mage armor at some point as both get better bonuses without armor. Hilael will be using armor at the start because that would look more professional when working as a guard for caravans. I'll put up the basic information about my Sihedron hero as spoiler here.
After completing his training he was sent to Magnimar where he was assigned to a new team which was set to investigate some rumours about Runelords. This team managed to beat the odds and they stopped the invasion which was heading to Magnimar. After this the group split up but Tharag still was intend on exploring the world and finging more information about the past so he started looking for other experienced adventurers. Most stories about him tell of an expert dungeoneer who could navigate in the weirdest of tunnels without problems and that he could spot most of the traps intuitively.
Remy Tomovici
Mayken, a dip into oracle sounds like a great choice for your character. I'm looking forward to seeing how she develops.
Yes, mage armor would be quite useful. We should probably try to get a wand of it as soon as possible. Remy is going to be a straightforward melee bruiser. Planning on going straight monk.
Ten years ago, he was among the heroes who defeated Karzoug, the runelord of greed. Since then, he has wandered Varisia performing acts of kindness and mercy, but he is always ready to take up arms should a powerful threat surface once more.
Mayken Vondel
@Moonknight: If Mayken does take a dip in another class, are you okay with using Fractional Base Bonuses from Unchained? It would keep her BAB and Saves on track rather than setting her back a level.
Maddie Elthis
I'll try to nab craft wand once I can qualify for it, but Maddie is something of an anomaly when it comes to my characters. While I usually have at least a passing idea of what they might one day go towards, I have literally no clue how Maddie will turn out, which is sort of fitting as well.
Kind and compassionate most of the time, she is utterly unrelenting in the destruction of evil, and in the heat of battle has a ferocity that seems completely alien to her normal temperament. Since the fall of Karzoug, she has founded a few small churches to the Dawnflower across the Varisian countryside, but also likes to travel incognito, traveling and inspiring others when possible.
Remy Tomovici
It sounds like Daimon and Rixa would probably be wandering across Varisia together. Perhaps there might even be a romance between the two? ;)
Maddie Elthis
Who knows? It's not impossible (and decently likely). Even if not, I would imagine there's an insane amount of trust and mutual respect that would come with years of being together.
Almost done with Maddie
Starting Wealth: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 5) = 10
EDIT: Okay, pretty sure I'm all done now.
Mayken Vondel
Ro has never been comfortable with the moniker "hero". The young woman of middling height with short, sandy brown hair has always considered herself a singer and musician first and foremost. She is almost constitutionally a nonconformist, but one gifted with enough personal magnetism to come across to most people as impious and cheeky rather than nastily contrarian. Those on her good side know Ro to be warm and generous, while those on her bad side find themselves on the receiving end of her snarkiness and lacerating sense of humor.
Ro often describes her involvement in Karzoug's defeat as "lucky enough to have survived, not lucky enough to have avoided the whole thing". Despite her somewhat reluctant participation, Ro's quick and sometimes outside the box thinking allowed her and her partners to make valuable allies. She commonly planned and lead combat operations.
Although Ro had always planned to see much more of the world than Sandpoint and portions of Varisia, her long affair with Rynshinn Povalli kept her there after Karzoug's defeat. Ro and Ryn made things official a few years back, and now Ro sates her wanderlust by helping Ryn with her growing business, representing her interests on trips to Magnimar, Korvosa, and other regional locales. Ro swears she will get Ryn to take an extended vacation to visit Goka (a longtime ambition of Ro's) eventually.

Alright, settled on Vain for my drawback. I'm eager to get started!
GM Moonknight
Hey, everyone!
Time for some introductions. My name is Eric, aka MoonKnight, after my favorite comics character. We will be starting later today, but I wanted to take a moment and talk about the upcoming game.
A little about me first: I’ve been playing tabletop RPG’s since 1980, when I was 9. I have been playing off and on ever since, through high school, college, the military (there was A LOT of gamers in the Army when I served), college again and now ‘real life’. I’ve played all manners of games and genres. I am now a 40-something with an incredible wife and child, and I still play on weekends. I am also a big sports fan (Go Pats!), comic book fan, movie buff and pro wrestling fan (even went to wrestling school when I was younger and stupid). So, how I’ll be writing this game will incorporate some of my interests.
I am not very good at prose. My wife is infinitely better. I used to be ok, but as I age, I feel myself losing vocabulary. So, instead of classical prose-style, I’ll be experimenting with a hybrid script style – a little film script, a little comic script, and a little e-wrestling script (that’s PBEM Wrestling, called e-wrestling when I played). Here’s an example:
{Description of what is going on, as if you this were a film. Such as: FADE IN to the wide eyes of a monster, we PULL BACK to see the full face of the dragon, staring at the reader with fierce determination.}
CHARACTER 1: Dialogue!!!
CHARACTER 2: More Dialogue!!!
You all DO NOT need to follow this style. Write the way you feel comfortable. We’ll revisit the format later, and gauge how you like or dislike it, and adjust as necessary.
So … what about all of you? Stand up and introduce yourself.
By the way – Moon Knight is way cooler than Batman. Just wanted to put that out there.
Remy Tomovici
Agreed! Moon Knight is awesome! :D
I'm Russell, a.k.a. Brainiac. I started playing RPGs in middle school with the WEG Star Wars RPG, then switched to D&D when 3rd Edition came out. Been playing 3.0/3.5/Pathfinder ever since--17 years now! 0.o
I play in and run several games on these forums. In fact, Maddie's and Maykem's players have characters in some of my games. It will be fun being on the other side of the table with them here.
I'm in my early thirties, married, and have two daughters, one 2 years old and one who just turned 4 months old! In addition to roleplaying, I enjoy comics, movies, and video games.
It sounds like your format will be interesting. Looking forward to seeing how it plays out. :)
Maddie Elthis
Hello! I'm Daedalus (or Kaleb), and while I'm a relative newcomer to RPGs (having only really gotten into them about three years ago when I found Pathfinder), I've gotten quite a bit of experience playing on the boards (such as with Brainiac), and recently having started GMing a RotRL game for some of my friends.
I'm a Physics major, crawling my way through college, and really love fantasy, comics (though I don't read a ton, the definitive on-screen versions of characters are, to me, those from Young Justice and Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes), sci-fi, and the like. I'm an alright writer and I think your style might be fun to try out.
So... yeah.
(Also, just saying that Dr. Strange is cooler than anyone else.)
Hileal Jothule
Heyas all! I'm Toni (or Swyrlyn). I first dabbled into RPGs while I was in high school but it dwindled down in a few years. Then about six or seven years ago my friend invited me to try an RPG that her friend was making. After that testing was finished we got a new group together and started playing and testing all kinds of games.
For the last few years I've mostly been playing Pathfinder in campaigns and on PFS (I'm also the VL for Helsinki area in Finland right now). I really enjoy playing and running Pathfinder and right now I'm part of four different campaigns which run in slightly different timetables (three RL and one over Roll20). I don't have much experience in pbp in here but I've played a few shorter ones on another platform and I've wanted to get into this side of things also for a while.
I'm also in my early thirties and married. We don't have children but we do have a couple dogs running around. I'm sure I will make mistakes writing in english because it's not my native language but I will do my best to make it understandable :).
Mayken Vondel
I'm Rick (rdknight) and it looks like I'm one of the later bloomers here in playing RPGs. I did dabble a little when I was a kid, playing some AD&D and Gamma World here and there. But it was long forgotten about until I ran across this article and read it: All I needed to know about life I learned from “Dungeons & Dragons”
It made me think "yeah, that was pretty fun. Maybe I should look into it again." There's a game store just down the block from where I used to live, and it turned out they have a PFS group. I played with them or about a year, but decided the very episodic nature of PFS and the shifting parties week to week weren't all that great for roleplay. Then I moved and didn't really have the time to go there anymore anyway. That's when I checked into PbP here. I've been playing on the boards now for about 3 years.
I'm in my mid-forties, divorced, and I have an 11 year-old son. I've always been a fan of fantasy, sci-fi, comics and so forth, but I've consumed them casually so I don't have a particularly deep background in them. As a "grazer" then, I tend to have tendencies instead of favorites. I lean Marvel over DC, Star Wars over Star Trek, and so forth. But yes, I like Moonknight too. :)
One of the things I like best is character building, backgrounds and personalities over mechanics. I steal often and liberally from all kinds of sources and reassemble the bits and pieces. For example my Investigator in War for the Crown is part Charlotte Ritter from the show Babylon Berlin (great TV series if you haven't checked it out), part Irene Adler, with ideas from a couple of songs, and personal quirks from a couple of people I know from work.
That was a bit of a digression, but anyway I'm on west coast time, Portland Oregon, and mostly post in the evenings. I'll probably be the last person posting after an update due to those things.
And yep, I'm in Brainiac's Iron Gods campaign, which is a good time. :) Mayken is nothing at all like Kaska Brainiac.
Mayken Vondel
Oh, and one thing I forgot to comment on back when it came up, relationships.
So, Mayken knows Remy. She would also at least know who Hileal is and something about him if he's been around for as long as 5 years. They might not be close friends or anything (though they could be), but he would stand out in Roderic's Cove too much not to notice.
Mayken probably wouldn't know Maddie. She's been living in Sandpoint for 2 years, so Meddie would have been quite young when Mayken was around last. Mayken could very well know her family though. Mayken does make it her business to know everyone, and all the stuff going on around town.
Actually one of the reasons I placed her out of town for a while was the gap between her personality and her Knowledge Local bonus. It's far too low for if Mayken had been around the whole time. She's a busybody.

My weekend was great. I'm still on a staycation until Thursday. :) Eager to continue!
Hileal Jothule
Nothing special here but did ran a session of Carrion Crown forward on Saturday. Still recovering from a flu so that was kinda hard on my voice.
Mayken Vondel
It was good, very low key with no traveling. There are a bunch of us on my block who get together every year.
Yes, ready to continue on!
Maddie Elthis
I had a pretty good weekend; mainly traveling back to school after Thanksgiving, but pretty laid-back all told.
