Congratulations on creating such exciting and interesting characters! This is a lurker friendly thread, and discussion page for all things pertaining to this campaign.
I will use this thread for: move involved out of character questions, special rules that are campaign specific, and if I or someone else is going to be absent for a period longer than 3 days.
Let's make this an awesome campaign!

Just so you all know, the campaign presumes that none of you know each other. However, if you wish, some of you can know of each other.
I will be creating the gameplay thread this evening, and I will be pming each of you privately with the setup. The posts should be up no later than 10:00pm EST.

Cassiel Hawke |

It'd certainly make sense for Katrina and Cassiel to have met once--perhaps they were originally students under the same tutor before Cassiel was moved over to paladin training.

Emanuel Gaskel |

I'm afraid Emanuel didn't have the means to go to the Academae and went to the Theunexus, instead. However, he can be found regularly at the Pantheon of Many at Erastil's shrine.

That would work either way. Katrina has been studying/living at the temple for like the last decade and a half which sets a pretty good window for them to have met. I'd be open to having them shared tutors or sparred together. If you want to work out more specifics feel free to PM me or post here.

Harrow Point Uses: Edge of Anarchy
Dexterity Rolls: Spend a harrow point to reroll any one Initiative check, reflex save, attack roll modified by dexterity, or Dexterity-based skill check. You must abide by the new result (although if you have additional Harrow Points remaining, you can use them to attempt additional rolls)
Dodge Bonus: Spend a harrow point to gain a +1 dodge bonus to your Armor Class for one encounter. You can spend up to 3 harrow points per encounter to increase your Armor Class in this manner.
Speed Increase: Spend a harrow point to increase your base speed by 10 feet for one encounter. You cannot spend multiple harrow points to increase your speed multiple times in one encounter.
Harrow points unspent at the end of the adventure are lost.

Cassiel Hawke |

Preferably something other than this. XD
I've run this part of the adventure before--at least the PCs then were kind enough to just lure him and his buddy outside and colour spray the both of 'em.
Come to think of it, the dog put up more of a fight then too...

some apologies are in order. this past week has been bizarre. I stopped counting the varieties of hell I've suffered somewhere around 25 (ironically, that was the hell of hyperbole) and simply have had neither time nor energy for pbp. between my job in retail management and a bunch of personal stuff, I don't see things getting any easier until the new year and am bowing out of just about everything. I am sorry for any inconvenience this causes.
I hope everyone continues to enjoy themselves on here, and with luck I can rejoin you come January.

Ah, I remember when I worked for walmart in a college town, right as the students came back, so I can relate to the insanity that gears up this time of year. I will continue the game without you, but if you would like to come back, the position will be open.

Oh dear, now I've used all my good rolls up!
I'm sure that won't be the case. :whistles innocently:
Also, you are all aware of five small state-run orphanages that receive frequent inspections from the churches of Abadar and Sarenrae. These orphanages also take in children from abusive parents or parents convicted of violent crimes.
There are three middle sized orphanages that stand in Midland (with one apiece in High Bridge, Pillar Hill, and Slope), with the largest in North Point's Mainshore ward and the smallest in East Shore. All together, the five orphanages can house up to 450 children, although the number seems to be holding steady at around 150.

Cassiel Hawke |

And at least I'm getting my bad rolls out of the way right now...
And Cassiel was suggesting that the kids go to Zellara's until we can finish dealing with Lamm's operation.

I understand, I was just letting everyone else know about the other options. The kids can also help out with whatever encounters remain, as they know the fishery well and are eager to give comeuppance to their tormentors.

It just occurred to me, that I have not stated how I am doing xp. Since Curse of the Crimson Throne was originally a 3.5 adventure, we will be doing fast track xp for in the pathfinder system. So you all should only need 1300 xp to level to level 2, 3300 xp for level 3, ect. The chart for level advancement can be found here

I'm not overdoing it with Cassiel's quips and taunts, am I?
Please let me know if I'm going overboard--I can tone it down.
I think that your taunting is appropriate. I will give you one warning if I feel that you are treading towards non-lawful, non-good waters. This is because there is a second level cleric spell (augury) that can help the party decide if an action will have a negative or positive outcome.
Also, as Paizo was down for a considerable time last night, I will wait until 10:00 pm EST to post the next section. Currently you are all interested in going to check out the barge instead of the door, correct?

Well I paused to listen for any obvious sounds coming from the other door. My intent was to be certain nothing was sneaking up behind us. I realize I rolled a 9 and probably don't hear much if anything and will assume nothing will jump out at us from that direction while we are looking at the barge (unless of course you suggest otherwise).

Other than the young shark circling in the water, you do not think that anyone is going to come up behind you.
