This is an interest check to see about running a pure 3.5 game for Eberron setting the only Pathfinder thing I will use will be the point buy system from the Core rulebook. This will be a Campaign with the PC starting out as a group together in Sharn. You are being hired to explore Xen’drik I will gauge the roster and let you know when I am ready to close it.
I tried this a while back and it fell apart because I did things crazy. So after taking a break from the attempt and getting my school life under control I am ready to attempt again. I am looking for Players to be my group for while.
I am all about the story and having fun. I will use the rules but I am not a rules nazi. I will work with you on your pc idea. I am looking for Role Playing and Roll Playing.
I will be using PM during this game to speak to your PC’s so be advised.
Fun…..Its Eberron Noir Fantasy the Dragonmarked Houses ,the Emerald Claw, prophecy and intrigue. My job is fairly busy but I will post once or more every 2 days, weekends at least once depending on real life. You as a player are expected to post once every 2 days and once on the weekend. I do this because rather have some feel left out because they can’t post everyday. So keep that in mind. I also use the discussion part of the forum to see how everyone is. I am looking at making good gaming friends as well having a good time here.
Abilities score will be generated by the point buy system in the Pathfinder rule book. It will be the 25 Point buy system. Source material will be Eberron books and the D&D 3.5 books.
Races: Eberron Races only see Races of Eberron for guidance
Starting level will be 1.
Max hit point for first level
Action points will be used so if you have Eberron CS take a look at it.
No LE or CE for alignments
Action Points and Dice will be used
Since I am not using traits you can have an one additional Feat at the starting level but it needs to be from the Eberron setting.
Combat will be a mix of theater of the mind and maps on roll20.net
Text I will accept “this is speaking sometimes” if your on iphone or tablet. I get the coding can be a pain.
Mirana Falataur
Mirana hails from Arenal where she trained in the arts of a Bladesinger, combining sword skills with magic.
In the last war she fought as a foot solider doing honorable service for her people in the battlex
As for her goals in Xen'drik, she seeks to find lost artifacts of the elven people that were left there after her people fled to Arenal. After all Xen'drik was originally the homeland of the elves.

Simon d'Jorasco
Simon is more or less completed. A simple cloistered cleric (variant from the Unearthed Arcana, giving up most of my armor profs, shield profs, my medium bab, and a d8 hit die down to a d6 for 6+int skills per level, bardic knowledge, and the knowledge domain) from Stormreach. Simon is rather young for a halfling having only attained adulthood 8 years ago. Originally he hails from Sharn but when his dragonmark appeared, through political manuevering and an arranged marriage, Simon was moved to Stormreach.

So just with the people that have posted so far we have two melee combatants (knight and Mirana), a divine caster that sounds like he might be a capable face (Simon), a scout (Beguiler), and 1-1.5 arcane casters (Mirana and the beguiler both using limited spells). Sounds good so far.
@Ashman, are there any guidelines for fluff that you'd like us to follow? I think you mentioned that we should already know the people we're adventuring with, but anything else?
Tenro
Eberron is my all time favorite! Not sure which way id like to go with this. I have several ideas and more popping out by the minute.
Aundairian Warmage
Karnathi Dread Necromancer
Changeling Factotum or maybe just rogue
Seren Dragon Shaman
Warlock drawing his powers from a Lord of Dust
Drow Druid of Vulkoor perhaps
Those range from sorta standard to somewhat wild and uncommon
"Nix"
Nix's crunch is up. There weren't really any changeling pictures and Nix was taken so I had to use quotes but there it is. I'll be throwing up they're background in a day or so, my cold is sapping my energy to much for me to type it out.
It's been a while since I've played in Eberron so I was wondering if someone could give me some language advice. I've already got Common and Elven (as I'm hoping to connect Nix and Mirana) but am not sure what to go with for the other two. Suggestions?
I also left a bunch of indeterminate money to be spent on clothes based on if you'll allow reversible clothing (and what, if any, the extra cost would be) and how strictly you're planning to follow the encumbrance rules.
Tenro
alrighty by the end of the week i should have the Warlock one statted up. i was thinking of having him as being from Aundair, a low-ranked assistant scribe working in the Arcane Congress who has heard whispers from Sul Khatesh or Hektula.
Although many of them are pretty cool and would influence my invocation selection.
Simon d'Jorasco
Let's see, from Stormreach back to Sharn wouldn't be that different for Simon. The healer's guild probably has business for him to do, or wants him to do something important. I have a feeling that the warforged knight (if we ever hear back from roidrage) and Simon have some kind of connection, and might have just met Nix and Mirana. Maybe they met at sometime since Simon is part of the healer's guild he might have healed them in the past.
Bludgeon
Oh, an Eberron game! Yay!
Current roster:
Mirana Falataur (Elf Duskblade)
Simon d'Jorasco (Halfling Cloistered Cleric)
Nix (Changeling Beguiler)
I submit Bludgeon, LN Warforged Fighter among the last to be created during the Last War within the Creation Forge of Metrol, Cyre.
He expected to do battle soon against Karrnathi militias, alas the Day of Mourning changed everything. Bludgeon was traveling via Lightning Rail closer to the frontline, when the mystical energies struck and destroyed everything.
Years later, a group of adventurers discovered his body, damaged but salvageable, and they repaired him back to functional status. Having nowhere to go and no purpose on life other than war, Bludgeon cursed the Treaty of Thronehold and his new useless "freedom".
He followed his saviors for a while, asking for and obeying their orders because that's what he's been always taught to do.
Bludgeon respects strength and authority, and would rather have orders to follow instead of thinking of his own, for nobody ever taught him to see the world any differently than via absolutes, like allies vs enemies, superiors vs subordinate, functioning vs broken.
Depending on other PCs, it would be nice if one of those be Bludgeon's savior and commander.
OOC, my character would welcome new ways of thought, but that would require time and roleplay within the party. Bludgeon isn't stupid, but his tactical mind hasn't been honed with any comprehension of emotions other than those used to train him: fear, expectation, surprise and trust.
DM Ashman
Tenro sorry for not getting back sooner. I have no direct overlord ideas but I am sure we can come up with one for the warlock.
Current roster:
Mirana Falataur (Elf Duskblade)
Simon d'Jorasco (Halfling Cloistered Cleric)
Nix (Changeling Beguiler)
Bludgeon the warforge fighter
Tenro warlock
As soon as he is up and running we can get moving.
@Nix I am not going to be super strict about clothing or encumbrance. Use your best judgment and modify from the there.
Tenro
I am almost complete right now.
I didn't see starting wealth under crunch. Are we using max, average, rolling, something else?
EDIT: also i am going with an aberrant dragonmark for my DM-given eberron-specific feat. i figured it would be interesting, and it's always flavorful. the other eberron feats didn't really impress me much, many of them were made with core classes in mind so they didnt mesh well with warlock.
EDIT 2: i figure Bludgeon has the melee covered plus help from the duskblade. I figure the beguiler has "face" covered, with help from the duskblade. cleric has heals covered, so i geared my warlock as ranged attack. some decent skills (3 knowledges) but made CHA higher than INT so i could get some good DCs on my invocations later.
Bludgeon
I wonder if someone would know some repair spells just in case? Perhaps Mirana or Nix since they're arcane casters? Or Tenro if he happens to be a Cannith :)
I can repair myself overnight with craft checks but am otherwise impervious to healing, however yes I feel I can cover the melee (quite literally, "bludgeoning" over enemies)
Tenro
Gonna change my invocation, since me seeing in the dark wont matter if someone else I the party needs a torch. (Gonna change to Otherworldly Whispers)
As for repair, I dont have extra skill points for it and I dont recall having seen an invocation for it. Later down the line I could use Use Magic Device to use a magic item on you thought.
And not a Cannith, my character will be associated with the Arcane Congress of Aundair as a scholar/researcher/teacher.
Bludgeon
I will keep craft (armor) maxed with my own skill points regardless, so no need to worry about that, I'll self-repair overnight, regaining 2 hp after 8 hours of work.
Later on, I will buy a wand of repair light damage and hand it to someone able to use it, and keep some oils for emergencies.
Meanwhile, I'll do my best to keep allies alive by forcing death upon enemies.
Currently, I am a LN Fighter. Assuming we go that far, in-party role will determine whether I'll become a LN/LE Juggernaut or a LG Reforged. Can't wait to see how the personality will develop :)
