Ah, yes, rules-as-written you are correct, but I wanted to ask before I straight-up ruled it out. I think this may be a case of you rules-lawyering yourself like you alluded to when we were beginning.
Considering we might be from here (local, history) or there might be certain above-ground architectural features that give it away (engineering), I don't think I should just assume dungeoneering. (Underdark, yeah, but this is different.) It always helps to be a squeaky wheel on these kinds of things instead of playing "vanilla" D&D.

The guards are approximately 50 yards down the hall and around a corner in a guard house. They do not have line of sight. There currently isn't a guard posted at your cell specifically, but every now and then a guard wanders around the corner. You can spend time watching them if you want to get their schedules.

Persea, unsure of how to respond to this cacophony of attention deems first to pull the patch containing the masterwork picks. "I moreso meant how are we going to hide these patches becoming things..." She remarked pointedly to Darling before tossing the tools that the patch had become in his direction. "Free us and I'll distribute the goods, as it were." She cast a glance around the room "Let it be known that, for this, you all owe me. Nothing comes free."

Persea, hearing the guard coming, looks around her in a hushed voice "Shh, make yourselves quiet and useful--pretend that you are still shackled." She contorts her wrists to hide the unlocked shackles and make herself look chained until after the guard has passed again.

Odakirk has wisened up to the fact that escape may be a possibility now and you see a tactical shift in his mood and facial expression. Complying with his partners, Sturm attempts to bluff the guard if needed, showing that his shackles are still on.
However, you still hear him whispering Asmodean proverbs to himself.

"Cowards!" Malus Hisses to his companions.
He extends an hand to Persea, gesturing for a dagger.
"Toss me a blade! I'll gut this weakling and we can be on our way!"
Regardless of if Persea hands him the blade, Malus moves to hide himself just inside the door, waiting to ambush the unsuspecting guard when he enters.

To Persea, "We better make this exit quickly. Throw that window up and I'll give it a test! I'd rather take my chances out there than cornered in this cell!"
Kirk readies himself to sprint and dive through the window, closed or open, when and if Persea uses it. If the guard is brave enough to threaten Malus, Kirk will ready himself to tackle the guard and attempt to disarm him.

Helena poised herself ready to jolt to action, still and decisive. She stood attentive for signals and cues from the others as whether to leap if enchanted window is utilized or to attack the guards if necessary. Her eyes scanned across the room, in eager anticipation.

Two more guard dogs arrive along with their guard hounds. Persea peels a patch off the veil given to her by the mysterious stranger. She throws the patch against the wall and a window magically appears.
"They've somehow built a window! It's a sorcery of somehow! Summon the warden!"
Two guards surround your cell and keep their distance. One runs off to fetch the warden and more guards. He continues blowing his horn.
