Nick Gave me some Basic Guidelines to Work with
25 point Buy for Attributes, but please be considerate about optimzation against characterization, the goal is the storytelling rather than how easily you can solo your foes.
the Southern Tribes are the primary villain, but you can ask nick for more about the setting
the books used are any Pathfinder Material by Paizo Publishing Within Reason, including the Revised ACG playtest with the following Caveats
individual characters will be reviewed case by case
optional rules are best avoided unless you make a character they like
the party is currently 1st level at the moment
Average Starting Gold
2 Traits, a drawback can be chosen to gain a third
the following Races have been Approved by means of the Race Builder and being proven to not Upset Balance
Houri (Half-Nymphs)
Attributes; +2 intelligence +2 charisma -2 strength; Houri are charming and creative, but slight of frame due to a combination of their nymph blood slimming their frames, softening their features, bestowing enhanced youth and improving their persuasive tendencies, and their human blood boosting their creativity, their ambition, their adaptability and their drive to learn
Fey Type; a Houri bears the fey type but also possesses the (Human) Subtype
Medium Size; a Houri Takes no bonuses or Penalties due to her size
Fey Eyesight; a Houri receives darkvision out to a range of 60 feet; this replaces the low light vision possessed by most fey. Most Houri are more Photosensitive than either their human or their nymph parent due to an odd genetic interaction; A trait that often leaves them with Migraines in bright sunlight.
Nymph Blood; a Houri counts as both a human and a nymph for all intents and purposes pertaining to race, such as prerequisites for racial options (such as archetypes, spells, feats, or favored class bonuses), effects that target race (such as favored enemy or bane weapons), or items that work differently for specific races
Fey Heritage; a Houri Receives Fey Foundling as a bonus feat due to her fey heritage. (see the pathfinder inner sea world guide for fey foundling)
Light Sensitivity; Houri are dazzled as long as they remain in an area of bright light due to the photosensitivity derived from the odd interaction between their mixed human and nymph heritages
Able Learner; a Houri due to her human ambition, tends to pick up new skills rather quickly, this works exactly like the skilled racial trait possessed by humans, giving her a bonus skill point per level. (if playing 3.5, multiply these bonus skill points by 4 at 1st level)
Normal Speed; a Houri has a base land speed of 30 feet
Persuasive; a Houri receives a +2 racial bonus on Bluff and Diplomacy checks In addition, when she uses Diplomacy to shift a creature's attitude, she can do so up to three steps up rather than just two. She tends to be quite influential and quite able to pass her words in some pleasing manner of delivery
Languages; Common, Sylvan, Bonus Languages; Any
the story will be featuring very high fantasy elements. the current site is the capitol city belonging to the kingdom of Jendar, but if somebody wants to play a character from an allied region, you can ask Nick about the countries of the Violet Flame Treaty or the Kingdom 3 days to the southeast of Jendar, the Fey Paradise of Synethra, a collaborated country
Synethra, is a small relatively Urban (for Fey of course) kingdom where the humans, elves, fey, elemental kin, and any involved hybrids live as equals, able to climb or descend the social ladder based upon their actions. the Synethren Citizens are usually of a mixed bloodline, and while they are generally peaceful and accomodating, and a nation on the border of the northern and southern halves, they are a choice stop on a long trading route because of that. the terrain is mostly forested with the cities built into the forest terrain, akin to Pora Elinu from Tera Online. Apartments are built into large trees with minimal damage to the tree, and the cut wood is regrown with alchemy to keep the trees from dying. each tree can hold a single family of moderate size or a single business, and each tree is alchemically treated and cured for it's survival and shaped regrowth. when the trees expand, additional homes can be built for new sets of relatives. whether by birth or marriage. the construction is often done through alchemy.
Each Family basically gets a Suite or Few based upon family size, but instead of paying actual funds for it, they pay for it by working,
Umbriere, Niece of Count Maximilian Aniri. a Synthren Countess to be, if the nation survives.
she doesn't mind the use within the campaign, as long as it and anything attached to it don't appear published within a novel, RPG hardcover of the like. will you promise to not publish the name of the country or anything that pertains or utilizes it.
a name change isn't needed, but she is really anal about names of her projects.

Can't seem to get the link to work. Just is taking me to the main messageboard page here. I was hoping to see some more information there as there seems to be a lot missing here like when do you meet and how often? Is this in Golarion or a custom setting?
The focus on story and character sounds awesome though. Doubt my schedule with shiftwork will fit, but thought it wouldn't hurt to ask.

copy and paste the above URL
it is a custom setting by my newfound Virtual friend Nick and His Wife

Pastable DM link
my PC is a socially oriented Half-Nymph Arcanist from Synethra, a Count's Niece raised by her nymph mother and her human uncle. something happened offscreen to her human father way back then.
a young girl sent by her uncle to request aid from the kingdom of Jendar and to request shelter for Synthren Refugees, there are other messengers being sent with groups to other allied nations
i don't know what the proper age would be for half-nymph standards, but she seems about 12 or so by human age measurements. her mother is a nymph arcanist with a focus on sorcery, whom happens to also be an alchemist and scientist researching medicine, and her uncle is a human arcanist focused on conjuration.
PM the DM about more.
we are looking for a total of 5-7 players, and an 8th is fine too if sufficiently compelling
i'm currently an arcane caster that doubles as a face through trait and feat selection, and will likely go the route of buffer and debuffer with a smattering of utility
the time hasn't quite been fully arranged, but we have a game tomorrow at 9;00 EST or 6;00 PST.

Is yours the only character so far or what/who else is currently being taking part? I did shoot Nick a message for some further information.
Unfortunately I definitely have a 12 hour shift tomorrow so I definitely wouldn't be available then at all. Pity.
Thanks for the information!
i'm the only character so far
i hope to get others to join later

Umbriere Moonwhisper |

I haven't played many online games. I have a mic, no camera. Do you always play on Monday nights? It sounds interesting will this be first session or has the campaign been going already?
the days, i'm not sure about, but there should be a game tomorrow at 9;00 PM EST.
so far. it seems to be, "any time that doesn't conflict with too many schedules."
Umbri could use a bodyguard or something, a protector from Jendar would be a fitting character. sent by the lord of the keep.

Aleron |

The PM from Nick seemed to indicate when most people would be available. That could potentially work for me as I do know my schedule well in advance.
I did want to say, even with the link straight to the Roll20 campaign above (even when I'm logged in) it gives a "Not Authorized" message so I can't view anything on there yet. I suspect you need to be part of the campaign before you can read it which is too bad.
Waiting to hear back from him if there is an 'eastern' equivalent country or if samurai and so forth would be completely out of place. Have an idea I've been puttering around with in my head a little and seems like it could be fun.
*edit* ...and now that I've seen your sheet, wow did you ever dump your strength hard!

well, she is petite framed and extremely underweight, plus there is the fact she is a half-nymph of a particularly young age and not very athletic. she spends most of her time studying and attending meetings alongside her uncle
well, i do have one dump stat, it's just a really low and fitting dump stat. but yes, i did dump strength pretty hard.
but i'm not walking around with 20s, even with that dump stat. i had to afford what little constitution and wisdom i had somehow
and yeah, i'm sure that even if a full on Japanese style samurai ended up being denied, that you and Nick could collaborate on a fictional culture with a similar set of values. or you could even be a highly honorable and strong willed Jendarian soldier left to protect a particular guest and messenger as a body guard
the concept of an honorable and strong willed warrior can be reskinned in a variety of ways
so the class could logically still end up used

Aleron |

Got it, makes sense in that context. Just surprised me, I don't tend to get that see that low of stats very often in any of the games I've run. I've only ever gone as low as an 8 strength or so because even that I find it very hard to carry all the equipment I generally acquire. I also hate seeing my characters encumbered so that is probably a large part of the reason.
I don't necessarily need the full on samurai for the concept, just wasn't sure what was available yet. The important parts I was leaning toward was their set of values, emphasis on honor, and a code of ethics like bushido. Their views on spirits also would be fitting.
The way I was envisioning the character (mind you, before really filling in details and just as a concept) was using the Bloodrager class with the eastern armor and probably a naginata or nodachi to represent an honorable warrior that is blessed (perhaps even possessed) by celestial spirits during difficult or stressful combats. For race, I was leaning Angelblooded Aasimar with the Scion of Humanity (so for all appearances he does appear to be a fairly regular human) and Deathless Spirit (blessed at birth that gives him protection against dark and evil energies) alternative traits.

OK won't be able to use myth-weavers.com for a character yet I hit enter after their bot-detection realizing too late that there was another section to fill out. now I have to wait on admins to e-mail me before i can register.
another sheet storage site is fine too, as long as we can view the online sheet and you can reliably update it.

Aleron |

I use mythweavers for all my statted up NPCs and PCs so that is easy enough. I'll work on the character and fill in some details a bit more while waiting to hear back from Nick.
Out of curiousity, do you use Roll20's built in chat system or something else? Or do you just type everything?
Additionally, how does everyone communicate meeting times and keep in touch? Email or otherwise?

Update
Games will be on Mondays at 9;00 PM EST with the occasional interlude session on a random day chosen by the group together.
9;00 PM EST is
8;00PM CST
7;00 PM MST
6;00 PM PST
the reason for mondays is as follows
1. Weekends are loaded with Household Outings, a common time for chores, and Parents often have to devote excess amounts of time to their children.
2. Mondays are often a day that requires something positive to look forward to. so something to make mondays less painful by providing an outlet, both for monday work, and the stress of weekend chores helps
3. Children often have school on mondays, which often gives parents time to play while their children are busy with sleep, homework, or the telly
4. Parents need time to unwind their weekend stress, and a game where they can escape the stress, right after the hectic source, by roleplaying, helps greatly
