I thought I posted this yesterday...not sure what happened.
Gear bought. Total came to 55 gp 2 sp and 2 cp. So about 14 gp remaining from the average starting wealth of a sorcerer. Character sheet to be updated momentarily.
"Recovering the armor and fulfilling this last request," Malbrighka says to Vekaessena and Farrin, "sound important. Let's do that before we...enter below. What else do you require, Vekaessena? A bedroll? I will spare some of my coin to buy rations for you. I recommend Budgrik's salted meat. He prepares it one of the traditional half-orc ways, blocks of salt rock pressed into the strips of meat."
She passes the ink pen back to Klokk. "How about 70% buyout? That seems fair to me. As far as a name goes, I was thinking maybe the dwarven word for ‘freedom,' the half-orcish word for ‘dream,' and the word Kata could form our name. Is that too complicated? Or perhaps ‘Deep Roots,' followed by that LLC. We all appear to have deep reasons for being here. Not simply the acquisition of gold."

"70% buyout, just round it up to 75% should make the math easier.""Cooidjaghtys Jrian Deep Roots LLC?" "My people have no word for Freedom, nor for that matter is there a direct translation for retreat. Cooidjaghtys means the concept of Togetherness, unity, companionship."
"Thank You, I need to at the least try to find him."
Malbrighka
”Cooidjaghtys,” the half-orc repeats the word, practicing it, feeling the sound. ”I like that! Let’s just call it Cooidjaghtys LLC.” She presses her wood block into the ink stone’s basin. ”Is the contract ready for me to stamp?”

"Almost.. one last thing."In small print in the bottom Farrin writesThis document was written and agreed upon by the us the founding members CJDR LLC, Cooidjaghtys for short. Reaching into his pack he pulls out a another stone sealed vial, dipping the silver pen in it he signs his name upon the bottom of the page in both dwarven and common, leaving enough room for everyone else to sign above him. Farring then slides the parchment over to Malbrighka.
"Indeed m'lady it is ready for your stamp. Farrin meets her eyes but blushes as he call hers his lady. He thinks: Now ive gone and done it.. she probably has the wrong idea about me.. thinking who knows women think.

So. We have a name and a contract. We are official. Now, let's decide on what we actually want to do.
From what I've gathered so far:
* Farrin needs to find a body.
* Vekaessena would like to find her armor, but is fine just descending the Gilded Hole. I don't mind either way as a player.
* Malbrighka seems interested in aiding both Farrin and Vek.
* Garrett? As a player, what do you want to do? As a character, what is Garrett up for?
Do we want urban investigation for either one or both Farrin/Vek, which we can hope to wrap up quickly, or straight dungeon crawling? Both have their distinct differences - likely more role-play and skill use in the former, combat and exploration in the latter.

I suppose this IS the OOC thread :D
-Farrin: Need's to find a Living Winslow, he'd prefer not to find a body.
Willing to help Vek find her armor.
I say before we go down, we try and take care of both veks robbers and my duty. that way she is better armored against the unknown. and well they hurt my new friend. But then I am biased. As who knows this human could be dead for all I know.. Farrin hasn't the foggiest clue at gather info.. so no clue where to even start IC wise.
As a player.. I am fine with either.

Gerritt is honor bound to search the dwarven ruins for an artifact that he doesn't believe exists and to keep searching until he finds it. He's in no hurry to get started. We can find Vek's armor and Winslow for Farrin before we descend.
After spending the 20gp he has 6cp to his name. I think it costs more than that to breath here so we better get started!

@Charlemagne's Brain - you still with us? We haven't heard from you in days, though the bad guys seem to be proceeding apace. Do you want us to quit the town stuff and just descend the hole?
Vekaessena See
Night C-Brain. Glad to have you back.
P.S. If only I wasn't so happy with my concept I'd be asking if we could rebuild our PCs with any of the new ACG playtest classes when they come out on Tuesday! ;)

I'm deliberately avoiding starting little scenes with these because I want to quickly wrap this stuff up so you can all be doing something as a group and we (or I guess just I) can get back into the groove. Then everyone can re-split up as necessity dictates.
Also hopefully we can ignore the last two IC posts. Blushing emoticon.
Also: HOLY CRAP! My script blocker almost ate that whole post and I hadn't backed it up. That would have sucked so much.

I'm really sorry everyone, I just don't have the free time I did when I start these games and I'm having a huge issue keeping up with two games. I don't want to kill this game but my post rate has been and probably will continue to by abysmal for a while still. I don't know if you guys want to wait it out or abandon the game or get a new DM, it's up to you. I apologize again.
Vekaessena See
Look, as I said a lot earlier, if you think you can keep the one game (the other group) going well and dump this one I'm fine with that - I'd hate to see the others suffer by spreading you too thin.
Also, given the peripatetic nature this game has experienced, and the slow post rates generally, I'm prepared to bite the bullet and abandon it. By all means, if you continue this please PM me and alert me that it is returning.
C-Brain, I really like the premise of Venture Town. I'm saddened I haven't been able to experience it in all its potential glory.
Malbrighka
I vote for ending the game, or at best hiatus. I think having one game running really well is better than two games that are struggling. I enjoyed the time spent in the campaign. It was a fun concept. Good luck with your other game.
Oh and thanks for being upfront and honest about your difficulties running two games. I've seen too many games just end without any communication.

Nice one Dajelly!!! You might have to PM the gang (Garrett, Mal and Farrin, and C-Brain! in case he isn't checking this) to get them back together.
Vek still wants her hauberk-khirt back from those vewwy bad guys.

Cool, now Garrett is happy again!
*edit* Actually I have a confession to make. I was really happy with this character so when this game died I found another game for him. I'm happy to move on with this game as well but I'll have to re-build the character with another name and alias.
Malbrighka
I’m willing to return too. I can’t guarantee multiple posts a day. The time I was going to spend on this game has been taken by another, but that’s moving slower than anticipated, so I think I’ll be able to keep up with 5 posts/week, not including posts where only a roll is needed. Thank you Dajelly Man for taking over the DM responsibilities.

Here's Garrett re-skinned to Marrant. I restored his equipment and traits as closely as I remember to what they where for this campaign. I'm looking forward to getting going again!

Aw, I'm flattered by all the thank yous. I emailed C-Brain about it and havn't heard back. I don't really want to take over his campaign/idea without his approval...
So, as opposed to venture town, anyone else have any specific settin they'd wanna play? I still want to run a game for these characters!
Vekaessena See
Just reskin it as Aventurepolis? The concept of a ruined city below and the dark seethig corrupt mercantile settlement above is what drew me, both for the urban possibilities above and the roiling darkness below.
@Dajelly - haven't had a chance to change Vek up yet. Same chargen rules, but any chance I can reroll my starting gold or take the new class' average?
Vai'anassena See
Ok, Vek's sister is now replaced by Mai'anassena See, or Mai for short, a Direlock.
If anyone wants a copy of the Direlock PDF, PM me with the email you use for DriveThruRPG/RPGNow, or failing that I'll get Liz Courts to gift you one through Paizo which may take longer...
DajellyMan
I have access to really any setting. I really dig the pathfinder setting but played a lot of dragon lance and forgotten realms as well. Still no word from C-brain so I suppose I will work on getting something ready.
I have a couple other campaigns I'm running that I sorta fell behind in last couple days as I've been super busy so I gotta get those back in track first

I'm not really a fan of DL, and FR is like Prozac to me. The beauty of Venture Town for me was being able to help create the setting with Vek's origin story and a sense of blank design space.
But ultimately it's up to you Dajelly. I *could* cope with DL or FR, I just don't know if Mai would fit either, and my FR lore is way poor apart from playing NWN...
