Kemnebi 'Djal Ibenbast' |

His adrenaline up, Kemnebi is literally bouncing on his toes now. He teeth showing in either a grin or a snarl, he swiftly makes a mystic gesture,
"Oh yeah?!? Resist THIS sucker!"
And another barrage of mystic bolts flies into the abomination that dared to resist his blinding rainbow.
"We have these guys, GO!" He calls through the link, sounding,... very sure of himself, unlike his usual tones.
Magic missile dmg to the resisting guy; 4d4 + 4 ⇒ (4, 2, 2, 1) + 4 = 13

Valegrim |

The undead mage casts a spell, his skeletal hand flys from his wrist to the second abomination in line and scratches the target with 4 skeletal claw marks; the area of the scratches is cold, grey and dead, tendlrils of force fly back to the undead mage whose vitality looks stronger; the hand returns to his wrist. The area on the abominations that was struck cracks and flakes off as it moves.

Fox of Silver |

The little masked mage finally regains her senses after the blinding flash of moments before and realizes in her confusion that she was about to target a section of tunnel wall rather than the abominations. Growling much like a dog, she gets turned around to face the foes and casts, sending a yellow-green orb of acid into the fray.
Point Blank Shot, Precise Shot, targeting a wounded abomination in hopes of finishing one off to relieve the front line if possible. I'm assuming she's able to target one within 30', also, so I'm including the PBS boni.
Ranged Touch Attack 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
Lesser Orb of Acid damage 2d8 + 6 ⇒ (4, 1) + 6 = 11
(I have a bonus of +2 listed in my attack line, but I don't recall what it's from and if it applies to both attacks and damage - I included it for both; please adjust as necessary.)

Kosan Silveraxe |

The abominations attack; do 22 to Kojan; and 19 to Astinos,
The undead cleric casts a group healing spell; everyone is healed for 41 who can take that much healing.
----------
next round; round 8
I take the 22 HP damage and yell: You misbegotten dung worm for that you shall die.
Round 7:
AC with shield = 29.
I have the feat: Tunnel Fighting (no Minus for fighting in enclosed or tight areas to Attack or AC).
My initiative is 21.
Enlarged tp 10 ft Hight and Str of 25, 29 with gauntlets. Str Adj = +9. Can reach to 1 Extra Hex to Hit.
Hit #1 (Axe side):
16 (1d20) + 8 (Base Atk) + 11 (Mod + Growth) + 1 (axe Focus feat) + 2 (they are CE) + 5 (Bless from Horus) + 2 (me and Abominations are touching the ground) = 45.
Damage: 6 (1d10) + 11 (Mod + Growth) + 8 (3 and 5 2d6 they are CE) + 2 (me and Abominations are touching the ground) = 27.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hit #2 (Axe side):
18 (1d20) + 3 (Base Atk) + 11 (Mod + Growth) + 1 (axe Focus feat) + 2 (they are CE) + 5 (Bless from Horus) + 2 (me and Abominations are touching the ground) = 40.
Damage: 9 (1d10) + 11 (Mod + Growth) + 10 (4 and 6 2d6 they are CE) + 2 (me and Abominations are touching the ground) = 32. (Good Hit)
I look around is all the grease gone?
Valegrim |
Yes the grease is gone; just smoke in the hall giving a few peoples a caugh and burning the eyes; not much air flow down here.
------------
the green ray hits the second abomination and it shrinks 60% which leaves it about 5 ft high.
------------
the acid ball splashes the first abominiation, but it hardly has time to scream before Kojan cuts off and arm and smashes its head; it fall smoking to the ground; the smell of acid will slighly burn those in the area for some additional discomfort but no damage.
Seeing that my sight has returned I give quiet thanks to my patron. Thanking her for protecting me from the eternal night of blindness. My eyes focus to aquire targets of opportunity. Glad once again to bring death to my peoples ancient enemy. As for the one who blinded me. I will have a few choice words for him when the combat is over.
Val, is there any snakes that I can still take target of opportunity shots on?
Valegrim |
what does it take for you to have a target of opp with your xbow; unwareness or ...?
Sorry it took so long to reply. Misplaced the book. Anyway to get my Dex Bonus in Damage is requires the opponent to be flat footed. My ranged percision always works unless its against undead, constructs, slimes, molds jellies etc, unless I buy a specific feat to overcome that.
Valegrim |
thanks for the heads up
So I don't put this off and forget to do it altogether, I need to let you know that we will be taking our annual fall trip to not-here. I'm not certain how much Internet access I will have, so I may be unusually quiet from Sept 10 through Sept 17. Please feel free to DMPC Fox as necessary.
Kemnebi 'Djal Ibenbast' |
Bolstered by the earlier, unexpected, successes of his spells, Kemnebi puffs up his chest a little, and casually sends another barrage of mystic bolts into one of the remaining snake-men. One not likely to be chopped up by one of the others in the group this round! :)
"And don't worry, there's plenty more where that came from!" He shouts as the bolts smash into the abomination.
MAgic missile dmg: 4d4 + 4 ⇒ (4, 4, 4, 2) + 4 = 18
Aahz, with over hammed whispered excitement somehow breaks into the mindlink....
"hey, is this thing on; hello; anyone home,<like to someone else--are you sure they can hear me; no, I dont here nuttin, I gotta what..oh"
"hey, is this thing on, I can hear you guys now; Hey, in this next room; oooh; looks all mystical and stuff; some guys all on some type of magic drawing with all kinds of burning torches and incense and lots of chanty type; room is like an inverted flower pot. Oh, I see the girl; wow she is cute; man is she pissed; all chained up and stuff; they cut her up some too, I see all kinds of mystical power flowing around her and the room; these chains are really big too. Wonder how they got her in here; the door is only 12 feet high but she is like 30. I see a old dead dudes in bandages, and other there looks like a vampire with some thralls; lots of snakemen in concentric rings; if I had to guess; looks like there are summoning one of their nasty snake gods to come eat the really nice looking goddess we are saving; did I say she is cute; they took most of her clothes too; she looks a bit sad too. What did you say she was goodess off? anyway; they got her all suspended by chains in the air over this pool of red stuff; oh ick; its blood; magic blood, I can see them sacrificing creatures and the blood filling the pool. There is some, hmm demon looking dude seems to be overlooking stuff; he looks creepy, big time. oh; something is starting to form in the blood; it getting all lumpy and swirling..
Hey, is this thing on?"
Llvenoc |
In the Mindlink: "She is the Goddess of the Earth."
From Aahz's description it sounds like we are almost out of time, and I need to move now. For if we fail the responsibility falls on me. As I am the last one who took the pledge volunterily in the group.
Out loud so our allies can hear: "Make me a hole. The ritual is almost done, and I need to get to her."
Kemnebi 'Djal Ibenbast' |
Out loud so our allies can hear: "Make me a hole. The ritual is almost done, and I need to get to her."
"Working on it!" Kemnebi shouts back out loud as well, looking for another target,... and waiting for his nbext turn! ;)
In the mindlink;...'Aahz! How did you,...?!? Nevermind! Good job! Give me a picture of your location! I'm going to magically trade you with Llivenoc!'
Plan on using my transposition spell to trade Llivenoc and Aahz. Next round if possible.
Round 8:
AC with shield = 29.
I have the feat: Tunnel Fighting (no Minus for fighting in enclosed or tight areas to Attack or AC).
My initiative is 21.
Enlarged tp 10 ft Hight and Str of 25, 29 with gauntlets. Str Adj = +9. Can reach to 1 Extra Hex to Hit, Dexterity = 21 and being a dwarf I get a +4 to bull rush.
I scream out: Dumatiion give me strength and sure footing in my hour of need.
I run forward and try to make a hole for Llevonic. I put my shield in front of me so I can still see the direction I am going, I get low into a good stance and try to clear the way.
I am running straight for the door hoping to bowl over the remaining aborations. Then I will go towards the feet or hands as instructed by Llevonic.
Unsure on what to roll so I will roll everything and take what you need:
Hit #1 (Axe side):
15 (1d20) + 8 (Base Atk) + 11 (Mod + Growth) + 1 (axe Focus feat) + 2 (they are CE) + 5 (Bless from Horus) + 2 (me and Abominations are touching the ground) = 44.
Loosing Footing checks: 1D20 = 13, 18, 14, 16, 20.
I hope that covers it, and Sorry I have been distant I have been sick and School, and work, ...
pretty much everything that is not elemental: fire is susceptable to scorchingy ray; while Fox doesnt know if they have any wards such as Resist Fire as they magic is so different; it is a good be that it will work just fine; flesh burns, scales too. Oh; by the way; dont forget you can always get advice from the Mages of your order with your mask (free time)so you always have the advice of other mages at hand; additionally; you have a link to the Orb and dont forget you can choose to attempt to channel the power of your mask icon; it is very difficult and I dont remember if anyone is in there or not; but basically, other mages in your order can channel power to you, sometimes taking your place or sending help or opening your mask to manifest.
Do we know if the abominations are susceptible to fire damage? Trying to decide if Fox would know if Scorching Ray is a waste of time or not.
uhm; 54 + 9 is 63, lol, but that is just to low a roll. you of course have the option of doing something to garner the dieties attention <thus getting another roll>
To plow through the abberations; there is a roll specific for that; roll vs roll thing; dwarves are pretty good at resisiting it; but I dont remember it off hand; it replaces the old overbear rules; am at work just now and cant look it up; but it is in the book in the combat section toward the end....
Kemnebi 'Djal Ibenbast' |
Yes, Yes I was. Sorry, thought we were still in LAST round! <blush>
Kemnebi closes his eyes to better focus on the mental image from Aahz.
'Perfect! Thanks Aahz! Stand by Llivinoc! There may be a alight tingling in your extremities,...'
Kemnebi begins casting with his eyes still closed. He deftly dips his gloved hand into a belt pouch and sprinkles a dust into the air. His every motion is swift, sure and precise. As he speaks the last word it hangs in the air, not quite fading, as if waiting expectantly. The feline mage opens his eyes with the grin of one who knows he has done something right.
"Aaaand, Presto!" He says with a ginormous grin that reveals almost all of his feline teeth. There is a swirl of displaced air, an almost inaudible 'pop', and a brief flash,...
Unless there is something blocking it, Aahz and Llivinoc should swap places! :)
Fox will take a moment to share what she's seeing with her order and open herself to receiving their suggestions.
Valegrim |
Kemnebi's eyes open wide; the blocked spell goes wild as something from the eather grabs hold of it and twists, power beyond even the imagination of mortals. A sudden magic vortex opens around everyone in the hallway snakemen or adventuring party.
Everyone can choose to attempt to resist or aid the process of Kemnebi's transportation spell on magic steriods. Just post a will save and say if your aiding or resisting.
Kemnebi; you can use your will save agumented by your Use magic device bonus to direct this spell.
Those faithful to a diety; ie the paladin and the priest/druid types since I dont remember offhand anyone else sacrificing or praying; cept the Drow whose diety doestn care....hehe, anyway; you can do an instantaineious prayer for a sort of Augery; ie; you can test the outcome agaisnt you faith; thus make a will save augmented by your level; so if your level 7; add 7; if you make it; you will get a feeling of yes or no as divine guidance.
ok; we are off :)
Kemnebi 'Djal Ibenbast' |
Heheh. Sometimes, you just have to cheer on a cat! :) Will save, plus bonuses
1d20 + 15 ⇒ (6) + 15 = 21
Caught by surprise, the young feline magus' eyes go wide in shock, and not a little bit of fear.
But not terror. Not yet. He's saving THAT for when he's certain everything has gone pear-shaped,...
Quick as a, well, cat, Kemnebi grabs a hold of the mystic forces as they start to backfire on him. With a strong voice he repeats his chant, commanding it to yield to his will. Then his eyes flash with cunning, and instead of forcing the energies to yield, (something even the impetuous youth realizes is futile), he begins to coerce.
One by one, he takes the energy from the linked thoughts of his companions, and their nearly indomitable will, and shapes it INTO the energy of the spell.
Sweat running down his furry face, he grins almost manically. He is enjoying this challenge!
"Let's see how you like it,..." He growls to his invisible adversary,...
BTW, Just letting everyone know. This week snuck up on me, and it's going to be BUSY. Very good chance of no communication on most days through Sunday. Sorry. I'll try to keep up with reading, but posting will be minimal. Thanks.
Magic swirls about the party and duo images of everyone are impressed on the area; presto chango, all positions in the hallways are reversed.
Thus; the Snakemen now have their backs to the hall you came from; and the party has their backs to the large room they were trying to get into. Only Aahz was not affected. The paladin and dwarven warrior are still in melee, and anyone in the second rank; like spear distance; is still inside the snakesmans attack of oppurtinty range and would run that hazard if they withdraw.
Kenembi; roll a d3; you will be stunned; ie -4 to all actions including initiative and have to roll to get a spell off; all that power channeling through you have left your mind and body a bit...addled. Your hair stands on end and the smell of burn cat hair is in the air and magic sparks around your person. Take a d4 of backlash damage.
From the hallway; hundreds of voices begin to chant some unholy litany. Anyone who is Lawful Good will consider this to be totally horrific. and will be -2 to all actions as their body attempts to reject this evil. Kosan, the earth itself cries out to you as this corruption wounds the Earth. The stone is bleeding a putrid ichor. All LG people take 1d4 unholy damage.
Neutral good and Chaotic good people; -1 all actions and 1 point of unholy damage.
most neutral alignment unaffected. if I need to post for CN or any evil alignment; let me know.
-----------------
Kenembi's spell affects both time and space so....
Ok; initiative from the top of the order.
