"Spelling your name?" Korvus absently asks in response to Lucius' observation as he studies the letters forming upon the wall.
The half-orc wizard frowns in thought for a moment, then looks up at his companions - his face contorting into an expression of horror as he realizes the implications of the priest's statement. "Gentlemen! If these letters are spelling our names, then I suspect that we are in the presence of the ghost of Professor Hean Feramin - the Splatter Man!" Korvus warns. With a flick of his wrist, the half-orc wizard brings his magical wand to hand from the spring-loaded sheath hidden under his sleeve. At the same time, he reaches into his pack to retrieve a scroll while attempting to cast a protective spell upon himself despite his fear that the Splatter Man may steal the magical energies from his mind.
Swift action to retrieve Wand of Magic Missile from spring-loaded wrist sheath. Move action to retrieve Scroll of Detect Undead from pack. Question #1 for DM Haldhin - Has it been an hour since I last used the Wand of Mage Armor on Harold, Maximus, and myself? I used it just before the party climbed down to the lower level.

"The letters! We must destroy the letters before the Splatter Man finishes writing our names, or he will consume our very essences!" Korvus alerts his companions.
"I will attempt to summon a creature that can help us!" the half-orc wizard announces, focusing his will to attempt to summon an extraplanar ally despite the chance that the Splatter Man might disrupt his spell.
Full round action to cast Summon Monster II to summon a small earth elemental - DC 12 Will save to cast successfully: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 - failed.
"No! I cannot! I can sense that he will steal the magical energies from my mind - making him stronger! Perhaps the wand will suffice!" Korvus exclaims, pointing the wand at the letters and nearly shouting the activation word to fire a bolt of mystical force at the wall.

Round 2
A deep growl rolls out of Harold's throat, a sound both primal and angry, as the half-orc stomps over to the wall, "The bloody bastard fnks 'e can write me name on da wall an' take me soul, 'e's got anuvver fn' coming. Tell me, Mr. Splatterpants, what yew gonna write names on when I take dis wall apart, brick by bloody brick?!" Harold proceeds to bring back one massive meaty brass knuckled fist over the letters forming his name on the wall. The thunderclap of metal and flesh striking stone soon follows as Harold unleashes his full fury upon the wall.

Alexei charges and slams his morningstar into the wall, knocking several small chips out of the stones.
Lucius fires two bolts at the wall, but watches as they bounce off with little damage.
Bjorn slams his hammer into the wall, causing a crack that splits one of the stones.
Korvus tries to cast a spell, but fails! Pulling a wand, he fires a missile at the wall, blowing out a small chunk of rock.
Harold moves over and unleashes a couple of powerful attacks, breaking the stones as easily as if he was attacking wooden planks.
As the blood continues to flow down the wall, each set gains another letter: "ALE", "LUC", "BJO", "KOR", and "HAR".

After hitting the wall and seeing the letters continue to form, Alexei glares at it supsiciously. That... didn't seem to do anything? Is Korvus sure of this?
The oracle walks over to the half-orc mage and nudges the man with his shield. "האם אתה בטוח לגבי זה? אני מקבל את ההרגשה שהוא אין מה לדאוג," he asks, worry still causing his brow to knit.

Korvus replies anxiously to Alexei's query.
"It's not enough! We're running out of time!" Korvus exclaims. Thinking back to their battle the previous day versus the Ember Maw, the half-orc reaches into his belt pouch to retrieve his haunt siphon. The wizard then points the glass vial toward the wall and twists open the metal casing.
Move action to retrieve haunt siphon from pouch; standard action to activate.

Alexei shrugs and looks around.
Lucius wracks his brain to figure out if there is a religious connection to these letters, but he cannot think of anything related to this occurrence.
Bjorn delivers a massive blow to the wall and shatters several stones.
Korvus opens his haunt siphon, the blood on the wall streaks into the vial, completely erasing the letters forming his name!
Harold attacks the wall again, continuing to break even more stones.
As members of the group pummel the wall, an ominous laughter fills the cell block. The blood flowing down the wall begins to slow, and the letters start running down the wall. With several sharp reports, stones and supports give way throughout the cell block and debris rains down throughout the area.
Reflex save DC 15; fail - 14 points, success - 7 points
As the group recovers from the collapse, a skeletal figure in tattered robes appears inside one of the cells on the south wall. You can tell from the gestures and vocal intonations, he is casting a spell.

Alexei & Lucius, you effectively delayed in the round, so you may act.
Everyone else, please let me know what you want to do next round. The mental effect has worn off so you no longer want to attack the walls, but you continue to have any ability damage you suffered.
I'll work on getting a map up tonight or tomorrow.

He then hefts the weapon to the heavens, causing another burst of bright white light to pour forth, enveloping everyone, and the newly arrived threat, in positive energy.

Lucius dodges most of the debris and the resulting minor wounds are healed by Alexei's positive energy. Seeing another skeletal figure, he sighs as he walks up to Bjorn to pay it forward.

Round 4
Harold shakes his head as the room shakes, rattles, and rolls underfoot and feels no need to continue to pulverize the stones in the wall. As the skeletal figure appears in the cell, Harold spins and points at him, "Oi! Bonehead! First, I'm gonna snap yaaahr spine in 'alf then ram one end up yaaahr arse an' da uvver down yaaahr froat. Then we're gon'a connect da pieces wiv some strong glue in yaaahr gut. Then da real fun begins..." The half-orc pulls out the dagger that was lost at the bottom of the oubilette from his belt before continuing to stomp toward the cell.

Harold pulls the dagger he recovered from The Lopper's tomb and advances on The Splatter Man.
Finishing his spell, The Splatter Man gestures and two giant rats appear, one beside Bjorn and one beside Korvus. The rats both attempt to bite their targets, but both miss.
The Splatter Man (defensively) casts another spell and magic missiles fly out and hit Alexei, Bjorn, Harold, and Korvus. 5 damage each
Alexei moves forward to engage the creature, but he is vexed by his inability to hit!
Lucius pulls a scroll and reads from it, calling down a bless for his allies. please factor it in on your future rolls!

ARGH! In reading back through my posts, I realize I was not clear with my description of your enemy. The Splatter Man is incorporeal, but he appears as a skeletal figure in robes. Sorry about that - especially to Bjorn. If you want to change that grapple to an attack, feel free to keep that 19 if the die roller takes it from you.

Round Four:
Despair clutches Korvus' heart upon seeing the ineffectiveness of his wand against the ghost of the Splatter Man. The half-orc wizard takes a step back from the giant rat threatening him and fires his wand at the summoned rodent even as he reaches into his pack to retrieve a scroll.
5 ft step back to the northeast. Standard action to fire Wand of Magic Missile at the summoned dire rat that just attacked him. Move action to retrieve scroll of Shield from pack.

Burned, baked, choked in smoke, ran fruff by a guard's blade, shanked by a fellow prisoner, i' don't matter 'ow yew died, just what yew are dead. The Splatter Man steps back and casts another spell - four more magic missiles fly out from his hand, hitting Bjorn, Alexei, Harold, and Lucius. 5 damage each
The dire rat tries to bite Bjorn, but it cannot get through his armor.
Alexei drops his morningstar and pulls out his haunt siphon. Flipping open the lid, he watches in satisfaction as the gas in the vial shoots out at The Splatter Man. The specter is engulfed in the writhing fumes which change color from light gray to black before they fly back into the vial.
Lucius fires two shots at The Splatter Man, but both bolts miss the ghost.
