Darren moves in front of his allies to face the door and draws his sword and shield. "What is the meaning of this, sir?!" he cries, a hint of angry panic in his voice.

The door opens and several shambling creatures rush toward you.

From behind, the sound of rushing water fills the rooms. Only you see it's not water beginning to stream toward you, but chemicals from the vats!

Karl and Darren get an action, then we'll move into standard combat rounds. There are four "zombies" heading toward the group, and chemicals from the vats are starting to enter the room from he single doorway you passed through at the bottom of the stairs.

Darren, yes, he left before the zombies appeared.

The sound of chemicals rushing out of the tanks continues, and the three remaining zombies continue to shamble forward.

We're going to move into standard rounds now, I'll have a map up later tonight or early tomorrow. In the meantime, please let me know what you would like to do.

Darren takes another zombie down, while the acid splash and one of Karl's arrows drops a third.

Perception DC 12:
It seems the zombies are bleeding - real blood. They're not undead after all, they're alive!"

A scream echoes down the stairs and a pink skinless humanoid leaps down to land on the floor. His mouth opens wide and reveals rows of pointed teeth. His hands extend forward to reveal long black talons on the ends of his fingers. "Now I'll take all of your skins!"

From the room containing the vats, daggers fly at Karl and Faradir, but both sail harmlessly past the men. A small figure has broken free from the shadows and is standing in the doorway.

Int/Knowledge (engineering):
The chemicals are heading into the room you're in, but you have another 30 seconds or so before they black access to the staircase.

From your engineering background, you also know that the chemicals are likely flowing from an emergency release valve at the base of the vat. Such valves have a wheel that can open and close the flow.

Map is in the shared folder. The blue triangle is the remaining zombie, the pink star is the skinless man, and the lightning bolt is the small figure that was hiding in the vat room.

The Professor's voice carries over the din of battle and Karl magically grows to twice his size.

New People

Spoiler:
The sounds of combat startle you - your vision returns as you blink, and you realize that you have been asleep... But something is wrong. You try to move your arms, and find them held fast - as are your legs.

Now you remember.

The scars on your arm are still fresh from the most recent procedure, and you remember the man who has come to visit, time and again, to take a sample of your skin. Even now, you count twelve narrow wounds on your arm where layers of skin were excised with surgical precision. You remember his voice, and his stench, and most disturbingly, his sadistic pleasure at causing you pain.

You look around and to your surprise, you see two others beside you, also strapped down on operating tables.

The three of you are strapped to tables. You do not know how long you have been here, and you do not know where you are. Given the hazy fog in your mind, you believe your captors drugged you.

You are only wearing clothing, and you do not see your gear. There are cabinets of surgical tools on the wall, and a door leading out of the room.

Feel free to improvise at this point. Strength checks to break the straps, skill checks, scream for help, etc. Just remember the sounds of fighting are right outside the door.

The variety of tools and implements in the cabinets are vast, and most of them look to be quite dangerous. Characters can find the equivalent of any Light or One-Handed melee weapon. There are plenty available, so feel free to take as many as you want.

Morbury moves into the room, near the half-elf, observing the scene before him and gambles that he is on the "good" side due to the unnaturalness of the skinless man he's fighting.
