"You Jedi do really seem to like revisionist history, don't you?" Garrett quips, his eyes shifting towards Quen. "Do you honestly think that if I was afraid of the CSA, I would have broken into their compound to steal medicine? One of your own is seriously injured, and another nearly incapacitated; as I said before, none of my people have so much as a dent in their armor. If you want a 'peaceful solution', you can stop with your idle threats. Neither I, nor any of my people, are coming with you or surrendering ourselves into your custody. The only 'peaceful' way to end this is you give me the medicine I need, and then leave well enough alone." Garrett cocks his eyebrow at Quen, baiting the Jedi. "If you're willing to give me that, then get your friend to put away that blade and we can talk. Otherwise, don't bother wasting your breath on asking me to put down my weapons if you lot won't do the same."
"Oh, I might add; if any of you 'scumsucking mind-rapists', as she so lovingly referred to you as, try anything, she's promised to ventilate your brain. I wouldn't try any funny business." He cocks his head to the side, shrugging his shoulders a bit. "So, what'll it be?"
Taking a 10 on Intimidate to force Quen to back down as well; I score a 20, which is one point higher than his listed Will Defense in the header.

Garrett has a +11 Perception, he's incapable of failing the check. Still, I'll roll to make sure I don't get a 1. Also, Quen has different Will saves listed in different places, so to be on the safe side...
Persuasion; Intimidate: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21
I'll just roll it instead.

Did you want to use Diplomacy to ask Garrett to lower his weapon Quen? If so then I would agree an Initiative check would be in order.
Ultimately, if you are both going to request a de-escalation of the situation I suppose it matters little who "wins". Unless of course Quen asks Garrett to come quietly which he would not agree to...

Never said I'd win initiative, I was referencing the fact that one of my teammates has a readied action to shoot anyone who tries something. Since that's a readied action, it triggers before your action, meaning that if you use Force powers, you get shot. That is how the rules of the game work, if you care to read up on them. On your comment of winnning initiative, I'm the likely winner according to statistics. Moreover, I don't need to be in initiative to make a skill check. This has become a social encounter, and I am using social skills that I placed skill ranks in. Unless you want to roll initiative and attempt to use Persuasion on me before I can intimidate you (which, logically speaking, still doesn't change the fact that I succeed against Caleb as it occurred before we roll initiative anyway), I have beaten your Will Defense and therefore successfully intimidated you. If you desire to roll initiative, go ahead; I'll roll mine too.
Initiative: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (17) + 14 = 31
Is there anything more you'd like to add to the pissing contest, or can we be done now?

Agreed though Diplomacy/Persuasion would be a skill check for Quen I think Force Persuasion simply allows Persuade rolls using the UtF skill so not a Force Power per se, at least that is how I read the rules as well so no Readied Action would trigger in this case. That is why I called for an Initiative test.

So if I start using my abilities are you going to complain, Garrett? And who would say that you win initative?
Please don't bait the other players. I know you are still steamed about the past transactions but we are past that now, I think... :-) Though Caleb just dropped for good so I might just DMPC him till we get past this scene.
