They are feral in nature. Mindless and savage. They will not know any arcane arts, however do note that they will use weapons and while their bite is rarely used. Their saliva carries the curse of Lycanthropy, if it enters your bloodstream you will run the risk of contracting it.

Alferd nods in approval of the brightness of the daylight spell.

This should give us some advantage.

There is hill only to the left side. The right side is a drop to the canyon. It is at least 250 feet tall, however it has many small ridges and ledges at the side which can allow creatures to traverse on it.

"Hmm... Alfred, what do you say to turning over the carriage? We could get up upon it, gain some height and protection from these creatures."

Silver Crusade

Male Aasimar 8 Bard/2 Inquisitor 49/56 HP Ac 21, FF 17 Touch 14 Fort +5, Ref +3, Will +11

I do not think that is possible...the issue now is speed rather than our ability to kill them off. It will be for another day when we will hunt every last one of them. But not today, for if we take too long we will be overrun by their numbers.

Will start only when everyone is in position.

"Very well... we need to clear the area while the guards move the boulders. I say we push the carriage against the side of the hill, and move the horses up behind the guards. This will give us a more open battlefield."

Strapping on the helmet of telepathy, Thak holds his bow in both hands. "Wearing this may give me a few seconds of warning before they attack; hopefully..."

Alferd nods.

A sound plan. Depends on what the others think.

I agree. Jade nods, beginning to climb out into the bright night. As she steps out she flips the lever marked Scorpian Balista. I'm not quite as familiar with the crossbow, but someone who is might have a fun time with this.

Y'all can see to the preparation of the cart, I have some other preparations.

Once she gets out she looks around at her surroundings. She reaches down pinching the dirt beneath her fingers. Muttering to herself in concentration. Then she pulls out her symbol of Saranrae, and says a small prayer. Finally she draws her scimitar, replacing the symbol in her pouch, and begins stretching as they wait.

Assuming I have enough time: Cast Longstrider on myself. (Increased speed to 60' a round)
Cast bless in 50' radius burst (All allies in area gain +1 morale bonus on attack rolls and saving throws.)

Like magic, the complex gears cranked into motion as the front portion of the roof splits open outwards to reveal the silvery full moon to the inhabitants in the carriage.

The Scorpion ballistia rises out of the carriage top like a cobra sticking his head out of a snake charmer's basket. The mount locked into it's position with a loud clank. The base of the stand is a pivot device that allows the user to maneuver the Scorpion easily. The collapsible platform falls into position at the spot where the Scorpion was kept as it locked its entire structure.

Since no one voiced an objection earlier...

"I'll handle that beauty." Angrim says, stepping up onto the platform. "Oi you lot, get your arses in gear. Get the horses out of they way, then move those boulders!!!" He roars at the guards, his polite demeanor slipping and a mad glint showing itself in his eye for a brief instant. He rests his scorpion whip on the ballista within easy reach. He chants a brief prayer under his breath and a darkness swirls briefly up around him.

Casting Expeditious Retreat on myself.

Went ahead and moved the horses. Nothing worse for monster bait then a horse. Or we could use them as meat shields, but then we might have to pull this thing ourselves. Also moved the guards, if anyone wants them somewhere else, speak up.

DM, is that red line where the cliff starts?

Homo Sapien Current Arena Map; Current Monster Stats

Yea the red line works. You do not engage the lycans under they leap off the cliff. Hmmmm if the horses are at the side then in the event the path is clear how is the Hedgehog gonna move? Just for your info the horde is probably endless, so you just wanna clear it and move on. The entrance into the carriage is also only through the back door.

Ok this is how it is gonna be, I am going to roll 1d3 every round for the number of Lycans leaping off the cliff. The positioning of the Lycans will be random depending on my rolls. Once they landed they will be able to take their actions as usual.

Alferd will also take part in this battle. Anything to the right of the white line your Scorpion Ballista cannot reach. You may use your whip on top of the carriage too.

I was gonna add the light sources to the map, but with the daylight spell having a 60' radius it's not necessary. It covers the whole map basically. Then it extends another 60 feet of dim light. Along with your dancing lights, this place is lit up like an arena.

Spell Trigger: Spell trigger activation is similar to spell completion, but it's even simpler. No gestures or spell finishing is needed, just a special knowledge of spellcasting that an appropriate character would know, and a single word that must be spoken. Spell trigger items can be used by anyone whose class can cast the corresponding spell. This is the case even for a character who can't actually cast spells, such as a 3rd-level paladin. The user must still determine what spell is stored in the item before she can activate it. Activating a spell trigger item is a standard action and does not provoke attacks of opportunity.

A symphony of howls and jeering is accompanied with running feet at the hillside as loose gravel and stones rolled downhills due to the commotion uphill. The symphony is getting louder and now you can hear the snarls and deep panting of the horde as a nauseating stench of wet fur and decay hits your nostrils. Through the dim lighting on the hillside, you saw hundreds of brown forms dashing towards you. Sickly yellow eyes with snarling visage monstrous humanoids; half man half beast.

The moment was surreal when a dark form leaps off the cliff falling towards you. It seems time has stopped while looking at the Lycan in mid air before it landed among you.

The daylight revealed the abomination in great detail. It has the head of a rabid wolf with a torso of a human being. The thick fur from the head slowly fades lighter from the head down and you can observe familiar human body parts enlarged to abnormal proportion.

Just when you have done observing the Lycan, a few more landed beside it. Fortunately the daylight proved too bright for these Lycans as the sudden transition from darkness into extreme day light momentarily caused them to be disoriented.
