Background:
Jade was had a life different than most half-elves. Where most are born to one elvish parent and one human, Jade was born to two half-elves. They were part of a small traveling group that performed in towns and villages across Golarian. These half-elves were all worshipers of Desna, and so she grew up worshiping Desna. They travelled, danced, sang and performed. Jade learned many of these things, but she loved to dance. When she danced was when she truly felt alive.

Because they were always strangers wherever they went they were often blamed for any trouble that popped up. It also made it hard for them to seek justice, which meant they had to deal with a good deal of bandits. Some of the group trained themselves in combat for this purpose. Jade loved to watch them train. She couldn’t help feeling that it was its own type of dance. But when she asked to learn she was not allowed.

When Jade was 12, the troupe was travelling through Galt, when they were attacked by some particularly vicious bandits. Jade and her mother, Yarina, managed to escape, but most of the rest of the band was killed. Jade never found out if anyone else escaped another way, but she does not believe anyone did. They were near the Souhtern borders of Galt, and made their way to Taldor, to seek refuge.

There Jade learned of the wonders of Saranrae, and having gone through the loss of her family so recently, attached herself to the goddess. She especially liked the part about bringing justice to unrepentant evildoers. There, without a strong guiding force in her life—for Yarina had to put most of her remaining force of will into making sure that the two had enough food and money for shelter—Jade found she could study the combative arts. She studied under a group of people devoted to the Dawnflower, studying combat with the inquisitors there, and religion with the clerics. She studied hard for several years. She was right about fighting. She loved it as much as she did dancing. She could see how the two intertwined so wonderfully. She came to see combat as the ultimate form of dance.

Though she studied hard, clinging to the precepts of Sarenrae, she did not find true acceptance in the church. Most there wore the goddess’s colors—red and gold. But Jade could not stand it. She continued to wear the bright colors she grew up with. And she never could bring herself to be as solemn as the rest. And as the people of the church began to see that she would not change, she found she had fewer and fewer friends. That’s when her mother passed away. A strange wasting sickness came and took Yarina from Jade.

After that, there was nothing tying Jade to Taldor anymore. Her itchy feet from her youth began to call to her. So she left. She travelled all over Golarian, but first she went to Galt. There she began her quest to clean up some of the filth in this world.

She travelled far but she began to find some recognition after she helped defeat a group of gargoyles who had been terrorizing the city Tamran. A few months later she found a letter in the room of her inn. She did not recognize the name of the that had signed it, the Nightfall Scion.

Personality:
Jade loves beauty. She thinks the ultimate beauty is dance, and the ultimate dance is combat. Because of this she loves to fight. She will fight at anytime, anywhere. She is often the cause of small bar fights, though she thinks of these fights as simple fun, and tries not to hurt anyone . . . too bad. Most of her fighting is done with her fists and legs, though she enjoys using the scimitar occasionally as well.

Appearance:
You see a tall woman standing before you. Her blond hair is tied tightly behind her neck. Her bright clothes are reminiscent of the smile painting her face. She moves gracefully through the crowd toward you.
