Masumi |
Parry: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (18) + 13 = 31
Masumi easily knocks the clumsy lizardmam's claw to the side, avoiding what could've been a very damaging blow. She almost moves to slice back in retaliation when the man's entire posture changes. It doesn't take very long for it to register as Thoughtform possessing him, especially when he cries out in pain.
Her maw snaps open to give what could be considered an apologetic cry of terror, before now turning her attention towards the various gunmen...
Mk'voryal Cn-Yarlo |
Mick raises his sniper rifle as he locks his gaze on the reptilian, but quickly lowers it as he sees Masumi backing off and hearing the alien's new tone, calling out, "Excellent work, friend! Now their commander is our ally!... But non-lethal tactics? I will see what I can do, though if our safety becomes compromised I will not hesitate to neutralize the threats." Throwing the sling around his arms, he lets the rifle rest across his back as he regroups with the Masumi and Thought's puppet.
"I do not think they can see me without specialized evolution or advancments in technology. I am going to proceed against their flank to catch them off-guard and attempt the Stone Cold Stunner against the closest enemy. I have seen this tactic work several times on your television networks and it seems to be highly effective when executed."
Without giving his teammates a chance to react, Mick crouches and walks slowly through the entrance and will hug against the side walls as he tries to approach and get behind any enemies that seem vulnerable to a sneak attack.
I assume that there are no enemies close enough for an attack in the same round, but if there are here's an unarmed attack roll :P
Attack: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19
Atsuko, the Conduit |
Jaster Kite |
Atsuko, Felix. The Phantom's voice says in both of their ears. Our Doctor has found himself in a bit of a rough and tumble situation in the bedroom, and not in a good way. I'd suspect he'd need help.
Shmidts shot first, his men followed, all shots aimed at Apocalypse.
Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Toughness vs 19 for all.
Those with their sights on you raise their new, state-of-the-art rifles and fire at you.
Against Ravager: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Against The Darkstorm: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Against Mick: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Tough vs 21 for all of them.
The man-beast swings a lumbering fist against the nearest thug.
Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
Tough: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
And send him flying, spinning, and crashing on his back.
Tough: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Tough: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
The Darkstorm's blast strikes down another thug, as does Mick's strike.
Dr. Apocalypse |
As the bullets fly, the modified alien cells laced through him react. Technically, they react a few microseconds before the guns fire, but that's just quibbling. They shift to build pockets of tissue reinforced with kinetic energy. They absorb the energy of the bullets and the Doctor doesn't even flinch.
Reaction: Immunity to bullet damage. Shifting variable neurology to presence. Memory engrams: 1 to ranged combat, 9 to intimidate.
He smiles at the men, "Move along boys. You're out of your league, and my friends haven't arrived yet." intimidate: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (6) + 15 = 21
He then wraps up Schmidt in bands of telekinetic force.
grab, move object: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24 DC=20
Atsuko, the Conduit |
Jaster Kite |
On Felix and Atsuko's way up to the Doctor's room, they are interupted on their path by a masked man with a white skeleton mask and hood, sword pointed towards Felix, the visible one.
Had a feeling you I would see ona you idiots. The man said in a heavy brooklyn accent. Though I was imagining... someone I actually recognized. Taskmaster, here. And you just walked into a world of hurt, buddy. He flourished his blade. Make your move, buddy.
Initiative: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27
The men hesitate before their next shots, then take a glance to the door, thinking more likely, What friends?
You got to them. Now they're on edge.
Res: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Schmidt falls absolutely still, gripped by your powers.
The two men fire once more, their aim notably more haphazard. The woman behind you screams, running, ducking behind the bed.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Good point. I was thinking that when I rolled, but thought to just roll anyway in case. Let's continue along the turn.
Thoughtform Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
Resist: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Conked on the head by your backhand, the thug drops on his back like a domino, his mouth still agape from the shock of the incoming blow.
Felix Cabricornious |
Shifting Array to Immunity: Attacks targeting Parry
"How polite, introduction and everything. Then as you invited..."
Felix goes into a fighting stance, nothing professional mind you. It was natural, honed from years of impromptu sparring during his childhood at the main estate. Servants were as likely to help you wash the dishes as they were to attack you with the kitchen cutlery. No teachers, only primal learning on the fly.
Felix moves in swiftly, attempting to move past the sword, grab Taskmaster by the cuff of his costume, and drive a knee into his side.
Unarmed Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
Atsuko, the Conduit |
The Darkstorm |
Darkstorm will take this opportunity to try and scare off the remaining goons.
Surrender or flee, I don't care. But I dunno how long it'll be until your old boss takes you out!
intimidation: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
Jaster Kite |
If you know anything about me, bub, you'd know not to bother with that. He said, rolling his eyes and dashing forth, swing his blade and missing the man. Got some moves, don't we? He asked, striking out three more times and missing. Fancy footwork, buddy, but you can't keep it up.
Felix fails to grab Taskmaster, weaving under his arms and attempting to kick him in the shin. Hell, man. It's like fighting Spider-Man.
Schmiddt's face reddens at the Doctor and Atsuko. You dirty sonofab!tch! He yelled, then the Phantom's voice rings in their ear. Remember, he's the reason why your here. Try and take him prisoner.
Let's free-flow for this fight. Next time I'll be more concrete with the Order.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
The remaining three men stand strong against Darkstorm's words, raising their rifles at him in particular. Two fired at him.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Two more fire at The Ravager. Reluctant to shoot at their former boss aside her.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Tough vs 21 for all of them.
Felix Cabricornious |
I just remembered what Taskmaster does. Is this genuinely a fight where two people can't hit each other?
This guy has some moves for a weird skeleton themed bondage guy.
Felix didn't really know much about the villain he was facing, but he was the perfect example of his non-understanding of why people dressed up as heroes and villains. True - there were perks like helping abilities and protecting identities, but a skeleton with a hood? Weird.
As Felix trades glancing blows with Taskmaster, he buzzes in on the comms.
"You guys okay over there? I'm having a bit of a tango with this one guy. Sass-master I think?"
Masumi |
That's utterly hilarious actually.
Toughness: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Oof...
While she dodges one of the gunshots, the other seems especially effective as it... slips through her entire skull spraying the ground behind her with green ichor. She stumbles a little, dazed, and for a moment it seems the gunner may've lucked out... Until she swings her arm forward where it stretches and bends in ways an arm shouldn't, in an attempt to whack him into the side of a building while her wound already closes up.
'ranged' close attack, DC 27: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
'Ow ow OW! Being shot in the face is really painful!
She took an increased failure for -2 and dazed, but I believe her regeneration is enough to remove that damage right out.
Mk'voryal Cn-Yarlo |
Continuing his rounds, Mick will proceed onto the next nearest baddie to work over with his sleek technique-combination of Metal Gear Solid inspired close quarters combat and WWE utter flashy-and-fabulous brutality.
Close Combat Attack: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19
Literally the exact same roll as before? Nice. xD So it's going to be one of those campaigns...
As he engages the foe, he whispers softly, "In the words of a patriotic American warriour... 'You cannot see me!'" With hopes that his utterance will channel the wrath of John Cena upon this enemy of justice.
Atsuko, the Conduit |
Atsuko just looked at the complaining man - who seemed utterly unable to get free of the bands of force he'd been wrapped in. "You really should just cooperate." she said, trying to talk him into calming down. She'd yet to do anything hostile, so hopefully, he wouldn't think of her as an enemy just yet. "I refuse to take any responsibility for his actions..." she indicated Doctor Apocalypse. Hey, he was a former villain - what was anyone expecting? "...but if you decide to volunteer information and cooperate, that's probably going to be a lot better for you. I know you people have that whole 'snitches get stitches' thing, so you can just say we read your mind or something, and you didn't cooperate willingly. ...It's probably what we'll actually do if you don't start telling us about Cardinal." She couldn't condone the use of torture, or the threat of torture, in order to get information... but she was totally willing to hand him over to Thoughtform.
Persuasion: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
The Darkstorm |
toughness: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
Oww
Darkstorm grimaces in pain as the bullet hits him. He narrows his eyes at the goon who hit him. I gave you a chance! He says, throwing a ball of bio-energy at him
bio-energy: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27
Jaster Kite |
I don't know. Is it? :)
Prick. Taskmaster said, taking a step back and pulling a gun in one deft move. Yer fast, kid, but let's see just how fast.
He fires.
Attack: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (18) + 14 = 32
[ooc]Tough vs 19[/dice]
Schmidt's face fell. Damn it... What do you want to know, freaks? He asked, glaring with eyes full of hatred at the both of you. Whatever it is, I'll tell ya. He's smuggling weapons at the docks now, you know. If you just let me go and leave, I'm sure you can still catch 'em.
Tough: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Tough: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Tough: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
All but two thugs are knocked out, the two dropping their guns and raising their hands into the air in surrender.
Good work, team. The Phantom's voice said into the earpieces of those wearing them. Detain them and see what you can find.
Thoughtform |
Jaster Kite |
Yup, then you're dazed if you fail, or, if you fail by five or more, you're stricken with the next degree of failure... Which presently escapes me.
Those of you with earbuds hear the answer to Thoughtform's question from the Phantom.
Depending on their level of power, they're imprisoned either here or elsewhere. What have you got there?
Masumi |
Jaster Kite |
Felix is dazed. Also, Doctor, you find he's telling the truth, and remember that that is where the other half of your team presently is.
Killer Kroc. The Phantom says. You would take him to the station and then he'll be shipped to Gotham. He explained.
Good work. Good work. I've got squad cars headed your way to help you clean up the mess.
Atsuko, the Conduit |
Masumi |
Was there anything else we came here for, again? Masumi has Elditic Memory, so she'd recall if so.
The Darkstorm |
Thoughtform, stay in the man. I'll fly him there. We can rendezvous back at the, what ever the heck we have, once we drop him off. If everyone is okay with this plan that is.
As he speaks, he will enhance his strength using his bio-energy Using Strength enhancement, bumping it to nine. Cannot use my blasts or turn invisible
Jaster Kite |
Don't worry. The Phantom relayed to you. I gave them the details that he was posessed by a friendly ghost.
The cop cars arrive, a little wary of thoughtform and Ravager, but otherwise, their dealings with the Phantom keeping them used to dealing with masked men and caped crusaders.
Do you have rides back to the station? One of the officers asked. Or can you make your own way?
Well... I know a few o' the Cardinal's plans. He said. But before I say anything, I want a guarantee I'll make it out of here unharmed.
Felix's blow actually managed to scrape against the skull-mask of your opponant.
Tough: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
He stumbles back, rubbing the mask's jaw. Good one, bozo. He said. A real fighter, eh? Who did the teachin'?
Felix Cabricornious |
Felix shrugs.
"Its surprising what you learn in an environment that's constantly trying to kill you. All in the name of getting s%++ done."
Felix overhears the message over comms.
"I think i best be going. We'll have to spar again sometime, I think I'd learn a lot from you."
Felix begins to retreat, switching array to immunity to attacks targeting dodge.
Atsuko, the Conduit |
Jaster Kite |
The Taskmaster unloaded an entire round on Felix, all of them missing, and it looking like he barely tried to dodge them. Finally, he threw down the gun and pulled out a longsword charging after him as he met with Atsuko and they whisked away to the roof. Cursing out loud and turning. This was a fight for another day.
Th-The Cardinal is planning something with the Vigilantes. He wants to be da guy to 'liberate' us from them. The Phantom. Media. The Shadowhawk and Thrush. He's going to wage his 'holy war' on them. He wants them dead. He took a long look at the three of you. More vigilantes, I'm assuming. Doesn't matter. He might not win, but there will be enough collateral damage that it won't matter to you.
You got what you need? The Phantom asked. If so, come back to the ECPD at your earliest possible convenience.
The closest officer points Thoughtform to a large armored car that would comfortably fit the Kroc in his entirety.
The offcer Masumi roared at yelped a little bit and began shaking, running away. The other officers, probably warned ahead of time about her, just shook their heads.
Masumi |
She transfers the ones in her custody to just one arms, which twists and stretched to bind them all together and securely. Ravager then, now that one hand is free, proceeds to launch herself at a nearby building, quickly scaling up it. Once the roof is reached, she starts leaping from building to building, the police station in mind as her destination.
