Cleaver checking in!
Varg is your typical Ulfen Barbarian, but he has developed a taste for the southern climes. His brief tour of duty in Taldor as an Ulfen bodyguard led him to the society, and he has since been on three successful missions as an agent. He is indespensible in battle as an accomplished rager. He is intimidating and quite physically impressive in size and appearance.
I am an experienced gamer and active PbP participant. I have been playing D&D since 2nd Edition, for well over 25 years, or so. My life is now dominated by my two young sons (2 and 4) and my occupation as a Contract Analyst in the Legal & Contracts Department for a global corporation. So, if it has to do with numbers, I am fairly useless.

A mwangi man who appears in decent health save for his thread-bare clothing strides in. His clothes are all grey with only a small emblem of manacles appearing on the breast. He immediately heads over to the snacks are and begins eating like a halfling at first breakfast.
Experienced gamer and active pbp participant as well. D&D since the redbox, I am at about 23 years experience. My life revolves around me wife and 7 month old daughter. I work outdoors and am a black belt in several martial arts, so I tend to describe my attacks and make them with flow instead of 'power attack' 'power attack'. May not be optimal in any sense I like it.
PS: Don't kill the level 1 Wizard.
Nice to see you again Varg or should I say Narnel, this is Harlynn from Sigil's game. At least this wizard will be different from my diabolist conjurer.

I am another gamer with over 20 years under my belt as both a player and GM, and have a few years experience with PbP games. I'm also a family man with a child (3 year old girl, nearly 4), and I work in the entertainment industry as a location sound mixer.
Regarding a character, unless there are objections, I'd like to play Maps, my level 2 gunfighter / alchemist. He can handle healing in a pinch.
Maps is a tall man of dour expression. With the exception of his face, tattoos of exotic maps cover his skin, peeking out from under clothing, giving the impression that his whole body might be decorated with them. His features give little indication of his land of origin, though he seems to bear a touch of Keleshite stock. He is a man of few words, preferring to speak through his actions.

I have been actively playing PF for two years now but have been interested in Dnd for six years. I repair computers for a living and I write, draw, paint and am currently single.
Aram is a young half-orc, with olive skin, brown hair and long sideburns going down his face, and small tusks jutting from his lower lip. Aram is dreamy and introspective, and recently had to wrestle with a part of himself that comes from his rakshasa heritage. He wears an indigo robe given him by his foster-father. He has been on two successful missions for the society.

Achlas here is your standard Elven Archer, Aarogant and aloof, but he's young so his greenhorn status shows ocassionally. He wears his father's helmet and studded leather of an olive tone, and carries a longbow and longsword visibly. He also has a thick winter cloak of dark fur. Light Skin, Ashen blonde hair. This will be his first mission.
As a player, I'm 21 but have been playing d&d and other tabletop rpgs since I was 10 or 11, and was playing battletech by the time I could read. It's been a couple years though since I've played Pathfinder and this will be my first stint with a PFS character, so if I have some missteps feel free to let me know. I'm unemployed, save for working every now and then with a temp agency, so I'm searching for a job. Also I'm a musician and occasionally play shows on weekends.

I have been involved in PFS since last June. Since then I have GMed more than I play. I discovered the PBP and it has been awesome. Got a little too busy last fall, but now I have cut back to a manageable level. I'm a but of a PFS PBP addict, as you can see from my profile. :)

As far as how you run your game, I really like it when GMs roll initiative for everyone at the start of combat. It really helps get to the action quicker.
I also highly recommend players put their important stats in their Race field in some way, AC, saves, etc. It really helps the GM out when he does not need to click on our character sheets every time he makes a roll.

![]() |

I agree with Opal. I'd even go so far as to suggest the GM rolls saves and passive perception checks. It can really slow a game down when everyone has to wait for someone to make a roll.

![]() |

I personally dislike posting out of initiative order, though. It absolutely takes out the strategic element of interraction within an encounter. One's action is often highly dependent upon the acts of another. If you are not able to post in order, then you should not be playing. Take too long, and the GM should take your action for you.

![]() |

The only problem with posting in order is that some people can only post once per day (I'm not one of them - I can usually post a few times a day if needed), and have little control over when that is. Waiting for your turn can push a combat round back for days.

![]() |

That is why the GM should simply post for the PC if they do not post after a reasonable period of time. I have seen just as dramatic a delay when everyone has to retcon their actions because of those taken out of order that they never would have, or possibly could have, done.

![]() |

Seems like that would have been easier to simply rule that a post out of initiative order (if taken within a reasonable amount of time) means that the person who might have gone off at an earlier initiative was forced to defer out of indecision. However, once the enemies have acted, does it really matter when the players act amongst themselves? Seems to flow better when everyone posts as available, reacting to other posts.
I'm in a game where the GM explained his initiative theory like so:
Combat begins:
1. All players who rolled initiative higher than the enemy act
2. Enemies act on their initiative
3. All players act
4. Enemies act
5. Players act
And repeat

![]() |

I am one of those players that can't necessarily dictate when I can post. Being able to post out of order and then resolving in order is much faster. Yes, there is the occasional change you need to make to your action, but that's less of an issue at low levels. I have not found it to be a big problem.

![]() |

I would like to highlight that we are talking about two different things.
A. Do we post in Initiative Order
B. Do we resolve our actions in Initiative order.
Yes to A implies a Yes to B.
So Varg is Yes, Yes.
Maps says No, No.
I say No, Yes (but I am ok with No as well).

![]() |

I'm a little closer to No, Maybe. I'd like to post whenever and have GM resolve in order if possible, with interpretation and modification of actions that might conflict.

![]() |

ok as far as initive i'll roll as well as saves and passive perception checks... if we happen to wait on you for 24-48 hrs i'll go head and post for you... For rounds post in any order... but ensures that there is a post contains the round that it was meant for at the end of the round i'll repost it in proper order... if that sounds good...

If you put a link in the short campaign description it will show up at the top of every page. Real easy to find that way.
I like using maps this way. Just so you know, I will be unable to edit them while I am at work during the week, so I may ask you to move me if needed.

![]() |

I'm sorry, I was distracted by doctor visits. You were waiting for me to move? But I already had moved two times before hand. And now my character is in negative hit points. Does this mean he's dead?

![]() |

You are not dead until your hit points exceed your con score in negative hit points. In your case you have until -14. You are considered to be bleeding out until then and will take -1 a level until you can stabilize.

![]() |

When I ran this scenario, my players actually had some trouble with that encounter. It was unexpectedly difficult, partly because my dice were hot, and partly because they didn’t have a well-placed Color Spray. :)

![]() |

Sorry about being schizophrenic with my avatar. They just don’t have one that fits her perfectly.
Tell me about it. I don't think this one fits him but I have few choices.

![]() |

Yeah, I looked at making a Half-Orc character. There are like 2 reasonable choices for avatars. The few others look terrible! Gnomes, halflings, and half-elves have similar problems.

![]() |

Well, I hope our GM comes back full force. But if he doesn’t, I am willing to have Opal drop out and run the rest of this game for you guys. I have GMed it once before.
Either way, stick around. This won’t die.
