Midioto then takes the next little while looking through some of the items in the room and picking up the potions, and a scoops up a few of the crystal shards before the kobold can collect them all. He also connects to Ishak while he does so.
--Hia! Names Midioto. You seem to be a capable (snort) arcanist of some sort. Do you mind if I take a few of these shards? I've spent an eternity staring at that cursed gem and unable to touch it and it would be a dam shame to not have it in my hands after such an ordeal, even if its only a few pieces of it.--
Midioto then casts detect Magic/psionics and keeps walking around the room, sepperating the Magical weapons from the non-magical ones.
To everyone: --Hey guys, can some of you carry some of these Magical weapons? I'm sure we could sell some of them when we get back to civilization. Hey, umm... Is that king, XXX, still in charge since I've been gone? I kinda, uhh, got run out.--
Next Octavian came stumbling into the room and Midioto thinks to everyone (minus Octavian) --Hey, whos the new guy?--
--Heh, I thought of something funny. Watch this ^-^--
Midioto then casts Attraction on Octavian. (DC 15 Will negates. 1pp)
If it succeeds then Midioto will whisper into his mind, --You know that stone pillar to the side? The third one on the right. You really wanna get close to it... It calls to you... It wants to be your friend, and its talking to you.--
Bluff: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (7) + 21 = 28
Octavian Lucarin
Octavian pushes the door open more and moves into the next room. He stopped to lean on his spear while looking around the room with a smile. Faint images stirred through his mind as he gazed at each of his companions, memories from...
Will Save 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Suddenly a pillar to his right caught Octavian's attention. Something about the way the striations of the granite swirled and whirled in hypnotic patterns that were almost beautiful.
Sense Motive 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
My last three rolls, in order, have been 1, 2 and 3. The. Dice. Hate. Me.
"Something about this pillar..." the wizard mused while running his hand gently along the smooth stone. He incanted a minor spell and his eyes began to glow as he scanned the pillar with magical sight.
Perception1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Midiotoziggeroto
Midioto chimes in as Octavian touches the pillar, and so that all can hear --Ooohh!! That feels goooooodddd. keep rubbing it in there buddy!--
--Say, buddy. Whats your name? Mines Grannite. You know, I wouldnt say this to anyone, but I think we might have been made for each other!--
Of course the pillar registers as non-magical XD
Midioto is trying hard not to laugh while this is going on, and instead he talks to everyone except Octavian
--Ahhahahh! Dont anyone let on! Lets see what he does!--
Tsakua Chain-Breaker
Tsakua stepped forward to greet Octavian when he heard Midio. Confused, Midioto's joke dawned on him as he saw Octavian focus in on the pillar. Shrugging, he mutters "If ye must, Midget, if ye must." Turning, he goes back to studying the blue portions of the floor in the newly discovered treasure room.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Knowledge(Engineering): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
I guess that'll be a perception check to see if I noticed anything new compared to the previous check?
Midiotoziggeroto
Midioto was too excited to hold it in for even a fraction of a moment and ended up being the one to spill his own joke almost immediately.
--Bwahaha! Sorry buddy, that was me! The yellow guy to your right.--
Midioto waves to Octavian.
--Just playing a joke, hope you wont think to lowly of me! Names Midioto by the way, whats yours?--
Lets just pretend that the spell had this line from the Compelling voice power (which I thought it did):
"The suggested course of activity can continue for the entire duration. If the suggested activity can be completed in a shorter time, the power ends when the subject finishes what it was asked to do."
I asked you to get close to it, you touched it. Power ends.
Octavian Lucarin
Like a heavy blanket being lifted off of him Octavian suddenly realized he was acting like a fool. He heard the voice in his head and knew that that creature had been in his head. Controlled him.
Taken away his free will.
Gripping the spear so tightly the wood of the haft creaked the tall wizard stepped over to the yellow skinned humanoid. "You get this warning once and only once. I don't care why you did it. Do it again and I will kill you. The most precious and fragile gift given between us is trust. Violate that and you become the enemy." he said in a voice just one step away from a growl.
Octavian held Midioto's gaze for several seconds to let him know the depths of the wizard's anger. Then with a visible tremble of his muscles the wizard stepped away and mastered his anger. "I am Octavian Lucarin. So what happened after I drowned in my own blood?"
Vinsomner
Six Pillars crawling with dragons.
Six walls each with a different stage of the moral.
Six dragons pointing towards the gem in the center.
Six dragons holding the gem above them in their molded fire.
Six segments painted out on the floor, wide sections all meeting in the center where the gem was suspended.
The common color was consistent, blue, white and gold.
Ishak
Ishak felt the connection and tentatively accepted it, his reptilian eyes glancing over to Midioto for a brief moment. His eyes narrowed slightly as he was looking at him when he felt the voice inside his mind. He was silent before a sharp reply came.
--On the contrary I am a quite capable sorcerer of the mighty Queen. You may take some if you wish, I am collecting the pieces in case something else comes up. They may be useful. And yes, the tyrannical king is still in power. The rest of the group are recently freed slaves. I came from the Queen.--
Ishak had a much easier time sub-vocalizing his words into a well crafted thought-speech. It was hard to speak basic when you had a snout and a longer tongue and no lips.
Breewyn
Breewyn cocked her head, the obvious prank sailing right over her head. She watched as Octavian became rather entranced by the pillar and she waited patiently for him to finish. After quite a while and becoming impatient, as well as a bit fidgety, she cleared her throat loudly. "Glad you have returned to us Octavian." She smiled warmly.
When she saw Octavian menace Midioto, was when a more malevolent part of her mind cackled gleefully and made her right eye subconsciously twitch. Her smile slipped, for only a moment, barely noticed by any not directly paying attention to her at the time.
Iraldia the Huntress
Iraldia smiled at the blue man and clasped his shoulder, "I'm glad we were able to bring you back around. The world would have been less colorful." she let a smirk play across her lips as she joked.
The kitsune, her fur colored as a feral red fox, peered at the little yellow creature for a moment, "Being in my head is not a nice place to be. But it is nice to meet you. This is Gommie, my faithful pal."
Tsakua Chain-Breaker
"Ishak, could ye come here?" Tsakua asks. The room was beautiful in its design, and was clearly built to show off the wealth and power of whatever civilization had been here before. Taking his longspear, Tsakua reached out and tapped one of the blue-colored pieces of the floor.
Ishak
Ishak scurried over to Tsakua when he called him over, the little kobold peering into the room. He let out an audible gasp as he saw all the dragon depictions! He was almost frozen stiff in awe and wonderment. "Beautiful! Queen must know!" he said almost out of reflex before snapping out of it with a shake of his head.
"Yes bigun? What you need help with?"
Tsakua Chain-Breaker
"Do ye know what this dragon stuff is?" Tsakua asked. Tapping the floor hadn't seemed to set of any trap, so he stepped forward, moving closer to the gem to see if it would respond. As he did so, he examined the dragons holding the gem, to see if there was anything mechanical on them.
Knowledge(Engineering): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Feeling like he was being a little paranoid, Tsakua looked again at the murals, searching for a clue into their symbolism. Six... he thinks, It's important, but why?
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Octavian Lucarin
Octavian moved over to closely examine the murals on the wall and even ran a finger along one line. His brow furrowed as he followed the progression of each mural and tried to draw up any references.
K. History 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21.
Vinsomner
The inspection of the dragon sculptures revealed no mechanical designs or mechanisms.
Upon study on the murals you have a better idea of what they depict.
From left to right the six walls were painted with the morals that seem to hold some important. The first depiction shows the people bowing to a single dragon, its wings fanned out, encircling a moon behind.
The second showed another dragon, holding out a scroll as if it was reading the contents. The people in the depiction were standing with heads bowed and arms together.
The third was again, another dragon, though this one seemed to be in a pose that resembled praising. The people this time encircled the dragon, kneeling with their heads raised to the sky.
The fourth, depicted a tree bearing fruit. The people were eating from the tree and the dragon was encircled around it, its head facing towards the largest fruit on the tree.
The fifth showed the people seeming to being formed into a group. All with scrolls in hands as they follow a dragon that was leading them, itself holding a scroll, though the placement of the scroll was on its head.
The sixth and final depiction showed a throng of people, all experiencing a different things. One was crying, another cheered, while two seemed to be arguing. There plenty of others experiencing and doing many other things.
Ishak
Ishak shook his head slowly as he entered the room tentatively. "No... I do not know. This new, I've never seen something like this, but the dragons. Very important. My Queen say all began with dragon. Everything here because dragons. Though many left, gone or hiding, without dragon nothing would exist." It was a bit sketchy to ask a kobold if he really believed it, but with how their kind generally goes, it was almost a rule of thumb that they believed what ever their dragon said.
He wandered near the gem, watching it in awe as it light pulsed like a heart. He seemed a little transfixed with the whole situation as he explored the room.
Tsakua Chain-Breaker
Tsakua nodded at Ishak's words, internalizing the murals, willing them to stay in his mind. Something about this dragon... he thinks.
Struck with awe for the amazing architecture around him, Tsakua felt oddly at peace. The glow from the gem grew and pulsed as Tsakua and Ishak stepped forward, until finally Tsakua could restrain his curiousity no more. "What makes this gem so special..." he wonders aloud, as he reaches out and wraps a meaty fist around it, pulling it out from the six dragons that were supporting it.
Vinsomner
Okay so I should've clarified, the gem is bigger then what you can grab with on hand. Think of it the size of your head.
When Tsakua grabbed the gem, it stopped pulsing, suddenly filling the room with the deep purple glow. Surprisingly the levitating gem didn't budge not an inch. It was completely and utterly immobile. The floor came alive with swirling dragon paintings. The paintings acted as if they were sentient and alive. The segment that Tsakua stood in the dragon curled around his feet, the same with Ishak. The empty segments the dragons seemed to just fly aimlessly in circles.
The gem began to hum softly and a pulse of warmth ran though tsakua from touching the gem. It was... comforting warmth. The gem felt... alive.
Octavian Lucarin
When the light changed and paintings moved Octavian shifted his attention to the center of the room. Ideas began to race through his head as he knelt down near the closest floor dragon and, with his arcane sight still running, attempted to view the arcane threads binding the paintings with the gem. If he could understand that then maybe he could gain a glimmer of the purpose of it.
Spellcraft with Detect magic 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
Vinsomner
The threads mingled and twined, oh so intricately then you've ever seen before. It was if you were looking at a weaving of a grand master, magic so delicate, so ancient yet so durable. Though the thread from the dragons seemed to tie into the entire room, not just the gem. It was a myriad that you just were unable to fathom of how it all really worked. But everything in the room tied right back to the gem, its focus, its center. The magical thread throbbed with every pulse of the gem.
The dragon below Octavian was watching it, coiled beneath him as it tilted his head, observing him almost. It kept flicking it glance from Octavian to the gem that Tsakua was touching.
Tsakua Chain-Breaker
"More?" Tsakua thinks aloud "What more is there to give?" he mutters. Dropping his spear, Tsakua reaches up, placing his other and on the gem, to see if anything changes. Looking around, he sees the swirling dragons and calls out to the group, "Get in here!" Glancing between Octavian and Ishak, he asks. "What's happ'n'n here?!"
Octavian Lucarin
Years of training and research sprang forward in the wizard's mind as he deconstructed the marvelous weave of magic that surrounded them. He began to mutter to himself as he spotted each thread and imagined it as an individual entity and how it would interact in certain situations.
K. Arcane 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
Ishak
Ishak was watching the events unfold with wonder. It took Tsakua's call to snap him out of his trance once more as he hurried up to the pedestal, in one segment. He attempted to reach the gem, though was having a bit of difficulty. The dragon below him almost looked like it was... laughing.
"Me can't reach..." He pouted before looking to Tsakua. "I don't know but I want to touch gem..." He blinked and grinned as he moved over to Tsakua and began climbing up him, making sure not to accidentally scratch him with his claws. Once he was perched on Tsakua he would lean over and place his hands on the gem as well which only caused it to hum even more.
Vinsomner
Octavian Lucarin
Octavian rubbed his chin in concentration as his glowing eyes darted back and forth tracking objects only visible to his enhanced sight. He muttered in a strange language as he sat back on his heels to look over the entire room with a frustrated expression. "I would advise against touching the gem until we investigate further."
Jietin
Jietin walks in and takes a confused look around. "What the blood hell are you doing? What is that?" He frowns at the item, running a hand along his new greatsword edge. "Aye, for once I agree with the mage. Let's learn a little more."
Vinsomner
The image was the group, holding a higher purpose, together as stood before an army, their army. You felt powerful, oh so powerful.
Then the image was gone and then replaced with a city burning, screaming and children crying. The city was in the desert, blue blood mixed with red. It was a massacre. A thundering boom snapped you back to reality. You would feel a little bead of sweat drip from your forehead.
Now looking upon the gem the magic was clear to you now. There were several auras that were particular strong in the room. Every dragon held an aura of Conjuration, while the gem was Methodical and Enchantment. The walls were imbued with Divination and the floor with Evocation and Divination. The strongest aura was coming from the gem, seconded by the dragons in the floor. All of it, was could only be created by a powerful being, possibly a god as you can't fathom any mortal creating something this immaculate and these immense auras.
The dragon in Octavians segment seemed to be studying him now as the blue male was trying to decipher the room.
Jietin are you standing in the room or by the door?
Tsakua Chain-Breaker
Looking back at Octavian and Jietin, Tsakua laughs, remembering Midioto's prank. "Ye'd best not touch it then lad, the shiny rock may just be jealous and tryin' t'seduce ye like yon pillar o' stone!"
Standing there, hands outstretched, Tskua tries to organize his thoughts. How could he describe it? Were there even words? Feeling Ishak shift his weight in his shoulders, Tsakua felt a surge of new thoughts and ideas flow through his mind. Remembered the feeling of the first time lightning crackled from his...claws? Were those his? No, not his, but different...new...foreign, but familiar...
Octavian Lucarin
To anyone looking at the wizard all of the muscles in his body went rigid as he probed deeper into the threads of magic permeating the room. He fell forward and kept himself from falling with a hand slammed onto the ground. He breathed heavily for several seconds as the glow died from his eyes and he screwed them shut against the horror he had witnessed.
His city. His home. Fire and blood. Death. No this would not be allowed to happen. Now he began to gain a faint glimmer of understanding of the connection between this gem and the human god-king's desire for it. Of the God-king himself.
K. History to remember stories about the very beginning of the human aggression. 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19
Vinsomner
They thought this ships were for military conquests but it was far from the truth. Everyone suspects he had unearth an ancient civilization and gained access to the inner chambers of the city, specifically a very heavily guarded one with ancient beings. It was so important he himself had gone with a handful of his top advisers and military generals. They were gone a week before they returned to the kingdom, and they were changed.
The day he returned to the city of Kings Landing was the mark of the beginning of the end for all those who were non-human. The humans become tyrannical, quickly accepting the god king and his believes and visions. In one night they purged all their lands from non-humans. Every city, town or holding they took by force, all the humans quickly fell in line and joined the cause which were the root of many of the downfalls of great cities.
The day before the attacks many humans were beginning to turn, abandoned their loyalties and pledge to the new God King. Betraying those who they fought alongside for years.
The God Kings influence was becoming infectious for the humans and only the humans alone. But it wasn't only the King, but those picked to go with him changed as well.
Octavian Lucarin
"Touch the gem Jietin. Everyone, step forward and touch the gem." Octavian said suddenly. He filled his lungs to capacity before expelling a great breath that contained his doubts and fears and standing up. His face was serene and a small, ironic smile pulled at the corner of his mouth. "This is how he did it. This is how they all did it."
Logic chains began to snap into place as he compared what happened to the humans to what was happening to them right now. Finding a ruin. Entering a guarded sanctum and finding an object of pervasive power with the ability to make them More. He remembered the few scraps about the Lithurgarian's in his head and began to make connections with the few stories he remembered.
An ancient kingdom brought low by a war of epic proportions. An ancient civilization with ruins both on land and at the bottom of the ocean which would indicate drastic alteration of the shape of the continent due to an external stimuli, namely magic on an enormous scale. And now they faced a gem that would alter them, make them more.
With jarring clarity the dream from days ago slammed into Octavian's mind and he felt a curious sensation seep into hid mind as streams of images flowed in from the ether irrespective of time or reality. The wizard leaned back and began to laugh as he finally understood the mad king's motivations and seemingly endless power. To protect his people he would need power, more power then even his not quite mortal frame would allow.
The same power that made a human into the God-King.
The wizard stepped forward and placed both of his hands on the gem, touching Tsakua's and Ishak's hands in the process. "Everyone step forward and claim your destiny. This gem will infuse us with power that will...I'm not sure. It WILL make us stronger. This is what the human god-king and his advisers did. They found another ruin like this and another gem like this and claimed it's power. A power we must now claim if we want any hope of beating the humans."
Jietin
Jietin jerks as the wizard falls, frowning and looking around for the head-mage to see if he was the one responsible. But then the blue-mage stands back up. Then he makes the claims to power for the gem and he looks at it with new suspicion. At what cost, I wonder? Still, it cannot be denied that they are desperate and in need of strength. With a resigned growl, the steps forward to put his hand on the gem. "If this kills me, I'm going to kill you mage."
Vinsomner
When Octavian placed his hands upon the gem it began to hum even louder then before. Octavian immediately felt warmth flood his body and could feel the magical threads spread throughout his body and very core, sprouting down to the floor beneath him. The dragon seemed to smile and curled around his feet, much like the one under Tsakua. It spouted little flames as well.
When Jietin moved into the room and into his own segment the dragon seemed to change colors, flashing a bright and vibrant red as it followed him up to the point he placed his hands on the floating gem. The hum was now audible and Jietin would feel the warmth shoot through him. He unlike the others felt a tinge of power leaking into him already. A taste of what it really could be. He felt the pull to the crystal, much like everyone else who had placed their hands upon it.
The humm was a soft and warming one. It filled the air with a strange melody almost as the noise echoed off the walls. The dragon's eyes who were below the gem that formed the pedestal began to glow slightly with the purplish light.
--Worthy... More...--
Breewyn
Breewyn had been lost in her thoughts for quite some time, picking through piles of treasure. When she finally snapped back to her senses she was looking around. "Guys?"
The room was mostly vacant, only a couple where still standing there. She looked around and saw a different doorway from the one that they had come from. She quietly crept over to that one and was entranced, all the colors, the motions. It stirred a childlike glee in her that she had not felt in some time. Even the darker part of her shied away from the intense myriad of colors and lights. It gave her a feeling of peace.
She crept inside, watching the swirling patterns of tiny paint dragons flying under her feet. She skipped some around them, watching them act as if they were reacting to her presence. She tried to touch them, only to have them flit away and her palm meet stone. She giggled and then looked up and saw the enormous gem. It was huge! Tsakua, Octavian, Jietin, even Ishak had found some way to touch the gem. As she got closer she reached up to touch it as well, her arm...stopping short of being able to reach it.
She stood on her toes. Nope still out of reach. She tried to jump and touch it. Nope still out of reach. Finally she was becoming a little frustrated and looked around. "Is there- is there like a box or something around here?" She said, huffing as she started to search around the room for something to stand on so she could join them in touching the gem as well.
Vinsomner
It would almost seem like their would be no way for Breewyn to find a way to touch the gem, except that if she looked before the dragon that was a part of the pedestal had its tail coiled out before it. You swear it wasn't like that before but it provided a step stool of sorts that you could use to step up and place your hands upon the gem.
You would feel the warmth invade your body much like how it did to everyone else. Except you could feel the darker side of you revel in the touch, much how it brought that part of you forward, it also gave you a sense of peace. You could feel the raw potent energies course through you.
Breewyn
As she was busy looking around, she looked back to see the dragon statue's tail had moved to form a kind of a step. Breewyn blinked at the change in the dragon statues posture. Did it just? She shook her head some, but she was determined to touch the gem. She stepped upon the tail and placed her hands on the gem.
Power overwhelming and all encompassing flowed through and around her. It was a font of raw power and it almost scared her a bit, especially when the darker half started to desire more of what the gem was offering, becoming greedy.
Midiotoziggeroto
When Octavian chastes Midioto for his prank, Midiotos eyes go large and his mouth goes small, the exact look of a deer caught in the headlights.
--Right. Sorry.--
Next be bounds into the next room after Tsakua, putting some distance between him and the mage.
--Whatchya doing? What's this?--
Midioto then casts detect Magic/psionics and studies the room a bit.
...
then a bit of time passes, people do stuff, and I miss some stuff
...
Midioto looks apathetically at the others while they gather around the gem and connect to it.
--I dunno guys. The last time I touched the big glowy gem I got frozen for an eternity. I mean, it wasn't all bad, except, you know. everyone else died...--
Midioto fidgets for a bit, pauses, then bounds forward, his curiosity getting the better of him. Again.
--Screw it. Im in.--
--This is a bad idea...--
while this is happening Midioto will also attempt to mind link with the gem, or rather the will behind the gem :) no idea if this is a bad idea, or will work, but here goes :)
--H-Hello?--
Iraldia the Huntress
Iraldia hesitated. She saw the wizard's strange reactions and jerking. She glanced down at Midio, "I-I don't know what to do...The humans have taken everything from me time and time again...and to have the power to destroy them is tempting...But...will it change me...will it consume me?" Even as she spoke, she stepped toward the gem. Her entire being vibrated with its pulsing. The vixen's form shifted back and forth from human to fox the closer she moved to it. Her hand held close to her heart as she felt this fateful step washing over her. She couldn't speak and tears flushed down her face as she tried to grasp a choice that she knew she had made but didn't know why or what it would cost her. She looked to her companions, "We're in this together..." Her hand extended out to the gem and pressed firmly to its jagged yet smooth exterior. The fox braced for the reaction.
Vinsomner
When Midioto joined in and placed his hands upon the gem he would suddenly sense a tingling sensation course through him. The dragon below him was spiraling around him, spinning and spouting flames, much like the others.
The feeling though was addictive, the sense of warmth yet something underlining the whole sensation that almost made it... addictive. When he felt out with his thoughts on the gem, he suddenly froze, his muscles locking and an overwhelming presence surged through him.
Unlike a whisper to the others, this was loud and almost deafening, --MORE!--
The paintings on the walls began to come to life, movement being depicted in each and every one, related to the scene they were portraying.
The hum was louder, it almost felt like the gem itself was beginning to vibrate.
--Worthy ones. Worthy ones. Worthy ones.-- it repeated in a very quiet whisper in everyone's minds. Midioto would heard this to an akin of a yell in his head.
When Iraldia entered the room and took her place in the segment, the dragon below her was a different color then the others as well. The deepest green, much like an emerald, swirled to live along the dragons scales. It wrapped tightly below her feet.
As soon as her fingers touched the gem she immediately felt reassurance, warmth, and more of all, satisfaction. Momentarily she saw a flash of her mother before her, smiling.
When she fully laid her hand upon the gem, the door to the chamber snapped shut, the light of the gem snapped out of existence, and for just a moment everyone was suspended in perpetual darkness. It would only for a moment as the gem flared to life, a living flame finally being seen at the center of it. The purple glow illuminated the room, highlighting the walls around them. The eyes of all the dragon sculptures in the room begin to glow a blue hue. All the dragons upon the pillars began to move.
Everyone's bodies were locked into their positions, they could move their feet from the floor or remove their hands from the gems. The dragon sculptures slithered down from the pillars and moved to stand behind everyone, their warm snouts pressing against the nape of their necks.
"Worthy Ones..." A voice echoed in the chambers. It was female and brought a very shiver down your spine. It almost sounded familiar. "So you are the ones who are destined to bring about the God King's end? Surprising it is to see the chosen ones assembled before me." the voice was almost oppressive.
"I have no need to ask to why your presence in my sanctum, I see the resolution you all have made in your souls. I've been watching you ever since that fateful day where you took your very own fate within your hands." It almost felt like the voice was smiling, though for good intentions or not, you could not tell. "Where many would've bowed to their fate and accepted death."
"Let us see if you are capable of understanding what is before you, what is within your grasp of what I may give you... A new life? Or death?"
The gem pulsed with light as hummed softly now.
"From a single soul to an entire kingdom
I determine who kneels and who stands
Bringing both slavery and freedom
From cities to even the meadow-lands
Being wielded from one to many
Even smuggled with just a song of words
Presence in just a single silver penny
I am what moves the world."
Tsakua Chain-Breaker
Tsakua was dumbfounded for a moment. Something seemed so familiar about this situation, and the words rang true to his soul, though he wasn't quite sure what they meant. "Are ye willpower?" he asked aloud, finding his voice. "The will of a...dragon?" he asked, remembering the murals on the walls, the dragons behind them.
"And if it be yer will t' bring down th' God King, will ye join it with ours?" He asks, a twinge of bravery in his voice.
Breewyn
Breewyn was quite overwhelmed with all the knowledge and prophecy that was washing over her. Chosen ones? Us? It made her heart swell a little with pride, but also gave rise to her anxieties. What if they failed? What if they weren't enough? Doubt started to gnaw once more at her and she felt quite small in comparison to the monumental task they were being given.
She chewed her lip softly, thinking, not sure what to make of all of the plans that seemed to be aligning. She was familiar with celestial alignments and how the stars and other heavenly bodies would indicate events of import based on how they aligned. Could this be one of those very same instances? She couldn't be sure, but it definitely gave her something to puzzle about for the moment.
Midiotoziggeroto
--Oww..-- Midioto grimaces as the voice resounds in his mind. He was much more in tune to the workings of the mind then the others and therefore more greatly affected. Either that or it was because he tried to do something foolish, like directly connect to it...
Next came the theatrics. The door closed, the lights went out, and the purple gem glowed more purple. Oh ya, and everyone froze. (I assume that the "everyone can move" was supposed to be "can't")
--Oh. Great. I TOLD you guys that this would happen... Now you all will die, like the last group--
--Or not--
Midioto puzzles over what the dragon says for a bit, then pipes up.
--Let me get this straight. The Mad King found you, and you gave him that power to rule, but only for a time. Now you will use us to bring that king down. Then, I assume, when you deem it the right time you will also lead someone else to bring about our end.--
--Which is fine, mind you. Everyone has an end. Just know that I have a long lifespan, and I intend to live it.--
Midiotos " voice" starts off inquisitive, but not disrespectful yet by the end of it is almost divisive, and a bit bold.
--And as for the riddle, I am thinking; you are Power? Authority? You are definitely intangible. I like your idea there Tsakua, Willpower is a good idea.--
So Iraldia got a green dragon, I call the yellow dragon XD
Iraldia the Huntress
Iraldia's normally violet eyes flashed green as the dragon circled below her. Her head tilted to the side as her young mind set to the task of grasping the riddle that held her enraptured. Her form continued to shift erratically, but she barely seemed to notice.
"Faith..." Ira dissented, "Faith in an ideal or purpose can be held by one or more. Faith enslaves and frees, is found in all walks of life, wielded by individuals and armies alike to push their cause, is sung in temple and passed through word and song, and the giving of a penny in charity or taking of in the name of faith..."
Breewyn
Breewyn thinks for a moment, before offering her own answer in response. "I can't argue with Iraldia's answer. Faith does strongly reflect in every part of the riddle." She continued to think for she liked to try and keep her mind occupied. She was thinking about all the other things and ideas that really fit the riddle and none of them felt good enough for her. Wealth could do some but not others, so could power, so could courage and will. Hope was another good thought that she liked but hope generally does not bring slavery...
She frowned inwardly, her smile on the outside never faltering as he mind continued to race from the riddle.
Octavian Lucarin
Remaining silent as the other's voiced their answers, Octavian spent that time looking around at the dancing murals. He looked as the figures bowed to dragons, prayed with dragons, followed dragons, learned from dragons and ate peacefully as a dragon protected them. He recognized the voice and thought back to the event that had ultimately freed the slaves from their captors. The immense storm that had surrounded the behemoth and responded to the slightest shift of her emotions. Something about that scene didn't quite sit right with the wizard and he focuses on those few minutes in his mind.
K. Arcane to figure out what kind of dragon that had been. 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
