Current map

Details left by Selmius Foster indicate the location of Arkath’s burial site is a plot of land in Eastgate. A fence surrounds the necropolis grounds, but the gates have been left open.

You are outside the gate, but do see a person roaming around.

Knowledge (religion) DC 13:
It appears to be a priestess of Pharasma patrolling the grounds.

Knowledge (religion) DC 18:
Followers of Pharasma detest the undead, as they seem them as a perversion of all they believe in.

"A priestess of Pharasma! Bah! I do not think I should take my new pet, temporary though its services will be, into the mausoleum. You shall stay outside," he tells the creature.

I'm sure this makes these documents worth quite a lot for the society, despite their somewhat shady hints of corruption.

"Greetings, priestess. My name is Aeleth. My friends and I are agents of the Pathfinder Society. We have every intention of being quiet and respectful here, and would hence appreciate your help, if you would be so kind. You see, our society has very recently uncovered that the late stonemason Arkath came upon some information that belonged to our society, but that information was withheld. In fact, he took it to his grave in a very literal sense, having had a clue about that information buried with himself. We do not want to disturb any of the other buried dead, and indeed, we defer to your instruction as to the proper way to respectfully open his mausoleum and retrieve the item with as little disturbance or disrespect to his remains as possible."

Marked by a streak of white in her otherwise dark hair, this somber woman always gives the appearance of disinterest in her charge of guarding the necropolis.

"I see..." she says.

She motions for you to follow, and she leads you to the mausoleum. She allows you to open the doors and enter, but she follows you in.

"Pay your respects and look if you must, but I insist that you don't remove anything."

You nod and open the doors, and easily find the lone sarcophagus. You look to the priestess, and she nods that you may open it, but she keeps a watchful eye.

The interior of Arkath’s sarcophagus looks empty save for the stonemason’s long-dead skeleton.

Realising that their motley group had not the foggiest idea what they were doing, Aeleth decides that they needed to engage the assistance of one of the more experienced and helpful agents they met earlier.

GM Fuzzfoot wrote:

"Another Pathfinder! Wonderful!" Janira tells a few more tales, and then says "Please feel free to call on me if you need pointers. I am usually here or at the Grand Lodge, unless I am on an assignment. In fact, I might even be helping with a few confirmations coming up here soon."

At this time, she has nothing really left to offer, but seems sincerely ready to help in the future if you have some need.

Aeleth turns to the priestess and gives her his brightest and most charming smile.

"Thank you for allowing us to have a look in here. I believe this coin to be what we are looking for, but I will need to take it to one of our seniors at the society to be sure. Would you allow me to borrow it for a few hours? I promise I will return it when we have finished our investigations. In fact...what time do you get off duty here? Perhaps I could return just before you finish up here, and after we put the coin back, maybe you and I could head over to the Wounded Wisp and have a few rounds? You can tell me all about Pharasma... My knowledge of her is surely lacking, as I did not realise her portfolio required her to recruit only the prettiest and most winsome young ladies to her cause."

Several minutes later.

"Do you know what you have here?" Janira asks, and motions for everyone to sit down.

"This is a Pathfinder's coin. These are used to record a spoken message, as a way to secretly pass instructions to Pathfinders. Do you have a Wayfinder? The way it works is, you hold it over a Wayfinder, and it will replay it's message. But be ready! It only works once, and then the message is gone. Of course, you can reuse it."

"Where did you find this? I wonder if it still has a message in it."

Does anyone have a Wayfinder? If not, you see that Janira has one and will let you borrow it.

When you try it out:

When placed atop a wayfinder, the Pathfinder’s coin rises an inch into the air and slowly spin in place. As it does so, you hear a voice say "The path and chamber are complete, hidden behind the nameplate of the requested aspirant and guarded by the word you requested. Fimbrik will add more."

Although no one has really said it, it sounds to me like you are headed to the gnome's home...

You are able to locate the Arcanamirium, Absalom’s largest and oldest magical institution, and find the address in the notes.

A brick step leads to Fimbrik’s front entrance. The home itself is an impressive stone dwelling reminiscent of what one might expect from an eccentric wizard’s home. Numerous stacks of newspapers—roughly 2 years’ worth of monthly copies—are piled around the door and crammed into a thin slot at its base. Each rounded corner of the building has a large window.
