| Senthiri |
Oh, is that all? Senthiri waves his hand dismissively. I was able to find out a little more about our "friend," Leon the bard. Though it's not very usefull. We'll swap later. For now, continue. Don't let me interrupt. He waves his hands, as if to say, "go on, go on." Then leans back again to wait for whatever comes next.
Meranna
|
Do not worry too much about me. I should be fine, before they organise for a bigger attack I'll be long gone. Ah, I see your friend has arrived. Let me call upon the power of Ishtar, so our wounds will heal...
As for your questions... I do not know what group these men were part of. If you call them "The Black Sun", know that such a group existed in Tintalas as a heresy against the Godess. I am surprised to see their name and symbol here. Unfortunately I do not know the details about them, but I do remember that they worship some dark being who is supposed to be equal to the Godess. I tought the group to be extinct a long time ago tough... And a Tintalian group? I would like to know what they are up to, but given the cold welcome of some of our brethren I am not surprised.
| Errik |
Hmm... I did not know that The Black Sun had a presense in Tintalas, and you say they worship a dark being? There is obviously more going on here than we realise! Errik yawns thinking about how late it is. He jerks his head to the bandit tied up in the corner. Should we see if we can get some answers from her before we turn in?
| Euchrid |
Euchrid nods to Errik "I will keep watch just outside the room" He pulls a leather bound book and inkpen from his pack and exits the room.
| Errik |
Errik stands up and taking a pitcher of water from their supper table he takes a few steps toward the tied up bandit "Perhaps this will work?" and throws the water into her face.
Female bandit
|
When she gets a pitcher of water in her face, the female bandit awakens. She curses softly when she feels ropes around her and looks up. More bad news.
| Senthiri |
With a wry smile Senthiri says, Nope left mine home. He then settles back and focuses in on the bandit.
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
Sense Motive: 1d20 ⇒ 9
We've got some questions for you. It would be best for you if you answer them.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
I also want to palm a dagger from my pouch.
Sleight of Hand: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
| Errik |
Errik takes a step closer to the woman and crouches down to look at her face to face. "I'm sorry about the water but I had to do it for your own good, you see my friend here was wondering out loud about how much of your skin he could peel off before you woke up!" He indicates Senthiri with his head, behind his back he gives Senthiri and the group a thumbs up hoping they catch on to his idea. "I think you better tell us what you know or he might start anyway!" Errik says trying to put his best worried look on.
Meranna
|
Meranna opens her eyes wide when she sees what is about to happen. She starts to protest rather loud.
You're not gonna torture her, I hope? If what you say is true that she belongs in an organisation, she was acting under orders!
She looked at the men around her, and looked at Hissarion.
You! You are a Knight of the Griffon! Will you tolerate that?
| Varro the Haruspex |
"My dear Meranna given the harshness of her actions towards you and the followers of Ishtar, a poignant interrogation of an uncooperative captive wouldn't be out of order don't you think? Now if given some time to rest properly I have a means to make this poor woman more amenable to our questions. Gentlemen try not to be too rough with her, we wouldn't want to be mistaken for petty thugs."
Diplomacy to calm Meranna, 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Varro tries to make himself comfortable in order to prepare spells in the morning. Bonetapper however fixes his ice blue stare on the bandit across the room, fluttering his wings in agitation.
| Errik |
"Well said my good man." says Errik to Varro. Then seeing the bandits smile "I would not get to comfortable there, I have noted throughout my life that everyone's morals have a point of braking, I begin to feel mine stretch, and I'm sure you were not always so much scum that you would chase down an innocent priestess intent on her death?" he turns his face from the bandit and looks at Hissarion and Merrana while he says the next bit. Winking to let them know he is bluffing and really wouldn't want to harm the bandit. "How long do you think you have before we all agree that the need for answers outways our dislike of harming an unarmed foe? So tell me, why were you trying so hard to end our kind priestesses life?"
| Hissarion Azor |
Hissasrion looks like he agrees with Meranna about the appropriate conduct of followers of Ishtar. He turns to the captive. As an Imperial Knight, know that I would never inflict harm on a lawfully taken prisoner. Unfortunately my companions are only Valesmen and I cannot in any good conscience hold them to the Tintalian standard of behavior...
Bluff:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15 -> It is very possible that we might be needing that Charm Person tomorrow morning.
| Senthiri |
Senthiri sighs and walks casually towards the bandit, his expression thoughtful. Then he leans down, ostensibly to check the ropes. As he does he whispers, Just so you know, I could cause a lot of pain before my companions could stop me.
Then he stands back up, and speaks normally. The way I see it you've got three choices. One, talk tonight, make things easy. Two, chance my friend's spell tomorrow morning, which from what I've seen, you're not too fond of magic.
Senthiri stops, leaving the third option unspoken, and gives the bandit a wink while he fiddles with his dagger.
Senthiri smiles, So, which one will you choose? I'd choose to answer Errik's question were I in your position.
Female bandit
|
Jessica spits some blood on the floor and gives a hatefull look at Senthiri.
Tortur, hvis du har lyst, vil jeg dø, hvis jeg taler, og jeg vil dø, hvis mine sår få bugt med mig. Den sorte har lidt for aldre, vil min giver ikke behager ham.
| Errik |
Kn Religion untrained 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Hoping to know something about 'the Black One'
Sense Motive 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
"Ech, yul få gudser pesay vê decør hošte!"
Female bandit
|
Jeg bryder mig ikke om resten af dette liv, dum. Jeg bryder mig om mit efterliv.
| Errik |
"Then may the Black One speed you on your way!" Errik bursts in Vulgar, losing his patience. " Damned religious fanatics..." he mutters under his breath hoping that no one really hears but his frustration seems to need voiceing.
| Euchrid |
Euchrid remains outside the room keeping watch ... and starts to feel the first signs of fatigue. His busy-work has devolved from working formulas to finding words that rhyme with numbers ... "Hmm what time is it? Lost track of time must be getting sleepy" he barely can make out raised voices briefly from the room "Should not have taken first watch."
Innkeeper Stoogie
|
Loud knocks on the door wake Stoogie up. Again. Slightly irritated he mumbles something about never peace for a poor innkeeper. The knocking repeated, this time accompanied with a male voice.
In the name of the Doge, open up!
Quickly he jumps to his feet. Now? At this hour? He grabs the keys and runs to the door to open it.
| Euchrid |
Euchrid sneaks as quickly as he can to a window, out of sight of the front door... opens the window and hurls his last bomb as far as he can in an attempt to lure the watch away... long enough to escape hopefully ... he waits for a moment listening to the reaction from the watch before regrouping with the others.
Innkeeper Stoogie
|
Nervous, Stoogie takes some time while opening the door. Clumsier as usual, he finally opens it and looks straight into the face of a soldier. The soldier starts speaking:
We're sorry to disturb, but we have received orders to - ...
The soldier is interrupted by a loud explosion. Immediately, he turns around and gives orders to the two soldiers behind him.
Where did that come from! Quickly, we must get to the bottom of this. Soldier! Guard the door and see no one leaves the building, we'll make our arrest later. You, follow me, we can't allow the city being under attack!
Stoogie watches them all, shaking his head in confusion.
Making an arrest?
| Senthiri |
Senthiri curses quietly as he listens to the conversation downstairs. He looks around for some inspiration. When his gaze touches the window, his face lights up. He walks quietly over to the door to their room, where he ruffles his hair to make it look as if he were just sleeping and twists his armor to make it look as if it were donned hastily. As he makes a few more changes, he whispers to Liam and Hissarion, I am going to go try to find out what they're here for. Be ready to back me up. Then he opens their door and closes it rather loudly as he begins to hustle down the hall and stairs to the lobby.
What's going on is the city under attack, I've heard tales of terrible invaders, but they'll have to go through--
Senthiri cuts off as he sees the soldier in the front door. My, that was a quick response. You came because the invaders are here? Senthiri's voice trails up making it more of a question than statement.
First, Stealth:1d20 ⇒ 10
Disguise to look like I was sleeping:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Bluff:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
And Diplomacy:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
Innkeeper Stoogie
|
I'm loving your actions. Throwing out a bomb out of the window to distract possible opponents followed by this manoeuvre of Senthiri. Good job!
Stoogie doesn't know what's happening anymore. An attack? He runs to the bar and takes out the crossbow he kept there for difficult situations. Then he joins Senthiri next to the soldier. "Good job and good to see you're ready! We'll teach them a lesson!"
The soldier starts to get nervous because of armed men close to him and his comrades further away."Please, go back in sirs! We don't know what is happening and we have orders to arrest a dangerous person!"
| Errik |
"Ha, I don't think I'd have much luck there. Didn't you hear that explosion? I'm trying to find out what's happening from Liam." Errik gets up and gags the prisoner. He locks the door and then opens the window a crack and looks outside
Meranna
|
Meranna starts to worry.
What is happening? I'm getting nervous, and the look of that woman is... ah! I hate it!
| Errik |
"Hmm Probably not best to leave though the window..."
Errik turns around to look at Meranna as she speaks
Then he looks at the prisoner to see what is so off putting about her to Meranna.
| Euchrid |
Euchrid waits and listens ... frozen with anxiety and indecision. He hears Senthiri and thinks this might be a chance to get away...but then he remembers all of his gear still in the room, and his stomach quails a bit. He notices his hand grasping his mutagen flask ... the tension of his fight or flight system was starting to wear him down "This should help me focus" .. he chugs his mutagen and takes a deep breath...he feels his skin harden and appendages ping with heightened clarity and control.. his next action hangs on the city guard's response to Senthiri...
