Lebris |

Okay, we'll try for non-lethal, but what are we going to do with it,
once we get it down?
short bow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
sneak attack damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Lebris will take a step back

DM RyckyRych |

Dave, do you have a 10' reach or did you just not move on the map?
Also, in 5e you can simply choose to incapacitate a foe rather than killing one. If you reduce him to 0 HP you can choose to knock him out instead of slaying him. See page 198 of the PH to see what I mean.
While Dave misses the target, both cleric and rogue manage to strike the creature in hopes of subduing the angry beast!
Feyce is up!
Calcryx (-16)
Dave, Lebris, Morgran and Feyce

Feyce Mellitur |

Feyce casts Chromatic Orb at the dragon and chooses fire damage, hoping to incapacitate the creature:
Chromatic Orb: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24 for Fire Damage: 3d8 ⇒ (7, 7, 3) = 17

DM RyckyRych |

With a potent spell Feyce kills the wyrmling! Unless I see something elsewhere it is only with melee attacks that you can choose to incapacitate the enemy, not ranged/spells.
Checking on Meepo you learn that the poor kobold is indeed dead. The goblin captives, seeing an opportunity, try to make their way down the hallway to the west! Since Lebris needed two hands for the bow I assume he dropped the leach. Feyce can take an AoO on one of the goblins if he wants.

DM RyckyRych |

Any reaction to the goblins trying to scurry away? Do you ignore them and search the room instead?

DM RyckyRych |

OK, we'll see what Feyce does. However, are you going to kill them or merely try to stop them, and how?

Feyce Mellitur |

AoO: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 for Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 Splendid.
Okay, so we're all in agreement on this: Meepo killed the dragon. Right?

Feyce Mellitur |

Rick, can I take the Green Flame Blade cantrip? It's in the SCAG: Green Flame Blade

Lebris |

I saw the dragon go crazy from the punishment and torture of the goblins. It attacked Meepo, and he killed it before succumbing to his wounds. WE couldn't save him.
Dammit, the goblins are trying to run away. Should we just kill them?

DM RyckyRych |

Sure, that's fine Feyce.
Feyce makes a poor attempt to strike the fleeing goblin. The party then decides that dead goblins don't really mean much and kill them. We can handwave any combat.
Going back into the room where the battle with the wyrmling took place, you notice that the wyrmling had scoured the room and gathered all items of worth into a nest she made behind the table. The valuables include a dragon-shaped, jade figurine (worth 20 gp), a crystal goblet (5 gp), and twenty-four pieces of fine silverware (1 gp each).
Of particular note is a sealed scroll case carved of bone, carrying an inscription. Runes in the Dwarvish alphabet spell out the word “Khundrukar.” An old parchment is within the case. Age and water damage have destroyed most of it, but a short message in Dwarvish remains: “… the remaining few. By order of Durgeddin the Black, we have created a secret dwarven redoubt. None shall find us; however, …” Perhaps it could be worth something if sold to the right dwarf.
Where to next? Also, the XP and Treasure tabs should be updated now.

Feyce Mellitur |

Well perceived.
I assume we will pick up the loot.
Morgran, does the word "Khundrukar," or the name "Durgeddin the Black," mean anything to you?

DM RyckyRych |

Morgran doesn't seem to have any knowledge of the names. He suspects that the items may be of value to a dwarven scholar however. No mention of any significance in the module, at least not that I've read so far.
Lebris moves to the next door and barely notices that it is closed.

DM RyckyRych |

I realize now that you can't use the Dodge action out of combat, though your caution is noted, Morgran.
Morgran boldly enters one of the doors to the north and finds an ordinary hallway. The hallway continues to the north and then west as well as back to the east, presumably toward the other door in the hallway.
So, continue in the new hallway or try another door in the original one?

DM RyckyRych |

Lebris scouts ahead. Seeing no danger, he waves the rest of the party forward to a hallway that continues to the west. Two doors are visible further down the hallway.
Another decision. Where to now?

DM RyckyRych |

I've moved everyone up. Do you investigate either of these doors or do you go back to the other hallway?

DM RyckyRych |

As Lebris approaches the door he can hear the voices of several goblins coming from the other side.

Lebris |

Lebris will indicate that to the group so that we can be prepared.
Lebris will then move to the other door and listen there.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

DM RyckyRych |

Lebris does not sense anything unusual at this door, however he can still hear the occasional voice or noise coming from the other door on occasion.
So, what do you guys plan on doing next?

Lebris |

Lebris will go back to the group.
Guys, I can hear goblins in the room to the south, but I can't hear anything from the door in front of us. Do we want to try the door to the south and figure out a game plan when we see what we are up against?

DM RyckyRych |

No, both of these doors open in toward the space beyond them.

DM RyckyRych |

OK then, who does what and who is standing where, and all that?

Dave the Bellicose |

Hoping to take the murmuring goblins by surprise, Dave kicks open the door Athletics: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 and strikes the first one he sees!
ATTACK!: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Damage: 1d6 + 1d6 + 1d6 + 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + (1) + (1) + (6) + 3 = 12
Re-roll Ones: 1d6 + 1d6 + 1d6 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + (1) + (3) + 6 + 3 = 15
As the first is brutally DECAPITATED, Dave turns and narrows his gaze at the second!

DM RyckyRych |

This oughta be good. Once Dave does this (most likely earning a surprise round) I'll give you a description of the room and such. It'll have to wait until I get to the hotel tonight.

DM RyckyRych |

Dave bursts through the door to the sounds of shrieks of terror! What might once have been a cathedral is now a goblin lair, thick with the filth of years of goblin life. Scores of wall- and floor-mounted sconces filled with violet-glowing fungi provide illumination. Dozens of goblins had been going about their daily business, which involves a lot of rudeness and violence. Along the southern wall is a heaping pile of assorted items, including wagon wheels, broken armor and rusted arms, chests, small statues, antique furniture, and artwork.
As the goblin's head rolls across the floor, others rise up to take arms while the noncombatants try to either take cover or flee through the other doors leading from the chamber!
Feyce, Lebris and Morgran may act in the surprise round!
Only those goblins that are willing/able to fight are depicted by tokens. You can assume the others will scurry out of the room by the time the surprise round ends.

Lebris |

Lebris will go to the door. Seeing different types of goblins (guessing from different icons) in the room, he will try and determine who's who, then shoot the one nearest Dave.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
short bow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
sneak attack damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2

DM RyckyRych |

Lebris isn't quite sure if there is any real difference in the goblins, however he quickly learns that the one nearest Dave when down easily to his arrow! Feyce tries to strike one of the others with a spell but that goblin seemed to be a bit more fleet of foot and dodges the arcane magic!
Morgran is now to act! Somebody wake him up.

DM RyckyRych |

Dex!: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Morgran targets the same agile goblin, who again avoids harm! The goblins try to regain their composure but some of the party members are too quick!
Dave: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (17) + 0 = 17
Feyce: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Lebris: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

Re-Roll 1's: 1d6 + 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + (4) + 3 = 11
Overcome with bloodlust, Dave splits another goblin top-down, cleanly in two!

Lebris |

Lebris will attack the goblin to Dave's sw; if thats the one that Dave might have just killed, debris will attack the one in green that Morgran attacked w/o the sneak damage
short bow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
sneak attack damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5

DM RyckyRych |

Lebris fires an arrow at the goblin but his agility proves to be too great for the rogue! The goblins then attempt to fend of the nasty invaders!
Commoner vs Dave: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Commoner vs Dave: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Commoner vs Morgran: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Commoner vs Morgran: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Commoner vs Morgran: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Commoner vs Morgran: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14
The commoners' woeful attacks go nearly unnoticed by the heavily armored heroes! Two of the commoners run out of the room, one through each of the closed doors in the western walls of the room.
Meanwhile, the armored goblins wielding scimitars decide to gang up on the fighter!
Scimitar: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Scimitar: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22 for Slashing: 1d6 + 2 - 3 ⇒ (1) + 2 - 3 = 0
Scimitar: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
One of the goblins lands an attacks but fails to score any damage! Suddenly, three more goblin warriors appear out of one of the doors, obviously alerted to the danger by a commoner. They aim bows at the cleric!
Short Bow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23 for Arrow: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Short Bow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Short Bow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
One arrow penetrates Morgran's defenses!
Party up!
Feyce, Morgran (-5), Lebris and Dave
Goblins

DM RyckyRych |

Lebris takes out the poor, filthy common goblin! He lived a good life by goblin standards, his runts will miss him...
Feyce, Morgran (-5), Lebris and Dave

Dave the Bellicose |

LOOK UNDER YOUR SEATS! YOU get a greatsword, and YOU get a greatsword, and YOU get a greatsword!!!"
ATTACK!: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Damage: 1d6 + 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + (5) + 3 = 12
A whirlwind of death, Dave chops a third goblin asunder at the waist before it can reach the thief!

DM RyckyRych |

As you may have noticed the website has been troublesome. I can't reach Roll20 at the moment either. Once Dave gives me an idea as to which seat goblin he attacked I'll try to give an update.
