Meriui bin Mircea
Yeah, sorry. Went to bed really early last night and have been trying to do things in the real world so far this evening. Not an intentional delay.
As Meriui receives the man's dagger, he goes into a low spin, dropping the man to the ground as payment for the attack.
---
Redirect as an immediate action, 2nd (last) time today.
CMB Improved Trip: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 3 + 2 = 19 I'm assuming success on that. If I'm wrong, reduce my attack rolls by 4 . . ..
---
Frustrated by his own failings, and the man's ability to harm him, Meriui lashes out to return damage for damage. First he goes to drop a knee into the back of the prone figure before him, and then to deliver a palm strike to the spine at the base of the neck., Both blows seem to land where intended, but somehow he fails to actually harm the man in the least.

Flurry of Blows, Unarmed Attack 1: 1d20 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 4 = 8
Flurry of Blows, Unarmed Attack 2: 1d20 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 2 + 4 = 11

Meriui bin Mircea wrote:Actually, if you look at my attack rolls, I added the +4 for a prone opponent. Those dice SUCK!You don't get a bonus to your attack for an opponent being prone.
This is true. Prone is a -4 to AC, not +4 to attack. Now that I have that cleared up, moving on.
Round Three Result
Faruq finishes off yet another person.
Aside from that, only Abal hits another foe.
Two men are left but seeing they are outnumbered and they could die, they surrender.
Barune moves in. Harud has survived and was apprehended. Barune turns to you. "You've done what is best and have earned my respect as useful members of this caravan."
Harud was detained and put on display for all workers to see. Barune approaches the man carrying a Falchion. "The desert is like the ocean. Stealing food is a crime punishable by death. If we are to survive to reach our destination, such order must be kept. This is just an example that I intend to keep order." With that Barune executes the man in front of everyone.
The caravan moves on.
Week Six-
During this trek, is the hardest leg so far. Food sources are scarce. Even the desert itself provides nothing but sand. Not even a single insect can be found. Even the create water spell is taking longer to work than normal.
Then, the unthinkable happens. You wake up one day to find half of the Caravan gone. Half of the men have deserted you. Barune is mad. "Those bastards took the last of the food! They left us to starve!"
Yalandere calmly approaches the man. "we are at the threshold of Aridia my friend. We will make it."
With only half a caravan and no food, you trek on. The next few days were unbareable. Yalandere orders that the wagons be abandoned and the remaining draft animals be eaten. Of course not any of your animal companions.
With that done, the rest of this weary journey is strictly on foot.
The Attack
Yalandere insists the trek is near an end but hunger is hard to battle. All you see before you is sand, miles and miles of sand. Soon, you begin to notice the sand off in the distance beginning to rise. It is heading in your direction.
"Sandstorm!" Barune shouts. As you all begin to take cover, something strange happens. The sand around you is lumping and moving around.
More and more small mounds of sand appear and move towards the party. Suddenly, bursting forth from these piles are savage gnoll-like creatures wearing strange armor and carrying clubs. These must be the Anubites Yalandere spoke of.
The sandstorms closes in fast even as the Anubites themselves attack. There are more than a dozen of them and your group is still tired and hungry.
You resist but they keep coming. Soon, the storm is upon you and it washes over you. Now blinded by the storm, the fight has become even more difficult. What's worse, the Anubites don't seem bothered at all. If their advantage wasn't great before, it is now.
Try as you may, you are no match for these creatures. Soon, one by one, you are all subdued and the world goes black around you.

You are all unconscious, the people whose names are in the spoiler are the only ones awake. If you are awaken you may read the spoiler.
You wince as you begin to wake. You wince and cannot tell what hurts more, your head, or you empty stomach. As you start to come fully too, you realize your hands and feet are tied to a ten foot pole and not only that but your are completely bare skin naked.
As you look around you see the rest of the five of you also tied up a to poles and stripped clean. There is no sign of Yalandere or Barune or anyone else from the caravan, just you five.
You notice you are in a shallow cave. The sun shining brightly through the entrance. Just a few feet off you see two of those Anubite monsters. They stand their staring out of the cave. Because of the angle you cannot see what lies beyond the cave entrance.
Suddenly you hear shouting and battle cries from outside the cave. The two Anubites seems anxious but do not abandon their posts. Instead they stand there looking out at whatever is happening on the outside.
You definitely hear the sounds of battle going on outside. Something must be attacking your captors, or so you hope. Now is as good a time as any to escape.
The ropes you are bound with are weak and feel a bit brittle. Also, the knots are not very well tied and may be a bit loose.
You have three tries to break free. You can attempt to wake the others, but that will also take a round by itself.
The checks you may chose from are
Strength Check to break the ropes DC 10
Escape Artist to unravel the knots. DC 10
Meriui bin Mircea
After grasping enough of the situation to make a choice, Meriui begins trying to slip free of his bonds. It takes him a little time to accomplish, but he manages to work out of the knots. Once free, he begins waking the others . . ..
---
Escape Artist Check, DC 10: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 Really? The last 3 d20 rolls TOTAL 8. Ah, well.
Escape Artist Check, DC 10: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11 Huzzah!
Ghersh ibn Nader
Strength check to burst the ropes DC 10: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23 I'm afraid you're the yin to my yang, Meriui.
Ghersh merely flexes his wrist muscles and the worn cheap rope splits. He quietly moves to his nearest unconscious companion and shakes them awake. Glancing back, he sees Meriui slip from his bonds and head to another person. Ghersh returns to the post to pull it out of the ground.
Shanosuke
You are both free, Ghersh you have two rounds to wake the others or free them.
Meriui you have one round to do this.
You can also make the poles you were tied to into clubs with a -1 penalty to hit and damage.
The ropes you can make into slings and there are stones on the ground. The slings have the same -1 penalty.
Meriui bin Mircea
Meriui spends the one ruond attempting to wake others. Since you basically asked me to repeat this, I assume that you want me to state who he tries to wake.
1d3 ⇒ 1
In the order they are listed on the Characters page, that is 'Abal al Naheed.
'Abal al Naheed
‘Abal feels herself being shaken awake she starts, the sudden jerk bringing fresh pain to her throbbing head. Between the headache and the discomfort of having nothing but a dream feast to exist off of for so long, she barely noticed the other assorted aches that radiated throughout her body.
As awareness floods into her she notices the myriad of sensations permeating her body, the bright light coming from an opening some distance away, the thirst in her throat, and the hot desert air on her skin. As she fully opens her eyes, she is able to properly assess her situation. She was tied to a pole. And she was completely naked.
Never one to care much for conventions like modesty she was still uniquely aware that she was the only woman amongst her male companions, all of whom were also stripped of everything. It appeared that Ghersh and Meriui were able to break free, and were in the process of waking everyone else.
Strength 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Strength 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14
Feeling the fragility of the ropes she pulls, at first finding little success. She breathes deep, willing the blood to flow through her raised arms as she focuses, pulling her arms in opposite directions until she is rewarded with the snap of the weak, dry ropes.
”Thanks” She says looking at the strange little warrior. Ignoring the urge to cover herself, she instead massages her wrists and shakes out her arms to get the circulation restored. Getting out of this situation alive was far more important than nakedness and the natural reactions her companions might have.
”How long have we been captive” she whispers.
Meriui bin Mircea
Given that Shanosuke said we had 3 rounds of actions, and waking you was round 3, I'm thinking something else may be going on while you're trying to break free. Otherwise I would respond IC.
Shanosuke
By round 3 the two guards will attack you.
I am going to assume Ghersh rouses the other two and yes it takes an full turn to wake someone because they aren't simply sleeping.
So everyone is awake at this point. Both Faruq and Wyldyrn(sp?) are still tied to ropes.
Only simple weapons can be fashioned from the poles and only a sling can be fashioned from the ropes.
I will allow a pole to be used as a longspear in this regard but no better.
By this point the guards notice you breaking free and combat has begun.
Added Actions
Free someone - Standard Action
Fashion a weapon -Standard action
Retrieve stones - Move
Attempt to free yourself - Standard + Check
Round One Begin
You have the initiative. Your turns.
Wyldyrn Cor'amnis
Wyldyrn awakes with a start; his last waking memory was the attack. The pounding of his head increases as his keen ears pick up the sounds of fighting nearby. He sees Ghersh standing before him, and two of the strange creatures that had attacked them; however, they were currently looking outside the small cave.
Wyldyrn didn't have much time to reflect much on the fact he and his companions were completely naked; he spots the guards turning towards them and prepare to rush! "They've spotted us!" he cries out. The nimble elf realizes the looseness of the ropes and begins to squirm about, trying to work his way out... but is unsuccessful.
Escape Artist: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Meriui bin Mircea
With Ghersh in position to try to hold the guards off and 'Abal casting, Meriui will take the time to try to wake Faruq. That doesn't mean he's not trying to keep an eye on where the guards are!
Faruq al-Rashid
Faruq started awake. The first thing he processed were the sounds of battle. He opened his eyes and saw his companions, naked and fighting the Anubites. He was also naked, but there was time to figure that out later. He started struggling against his bonds.
Strength Check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Your turns.
'Abal al Naheed
As 'Abal completes her spell the sandy ground shifts as massive centipede crawls up out of the ground to attack the Anubite facing Gersh fron behind Poviding a flank
The creature attempts to bite the jackal headed man on the leg as it crawls up him.
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
1d6 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3
Poison: Fort save DC 13 or 1d3 ⇒ 2 Dex damage; 6 rounds
Without waiting to see the result 'Abal dashes over to Wyldyrn working to free the elf.
Standard action to free Wyldyrn
Meriui bin Mircea
As the Anubite attempts to hit Meriui with a club, the desert warrior shifts his trailing foot behind him , but towards the Anubite, and uses the Anubite's momentum to place him on the ground at Meriui's feet.
---
Redirection: Trip: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 3 + 2 = 21
First of 2 Redirection attempts for the day. I'm going to assume that works, but as per the previous discussion, I will not add the 20% success to my atacks.
---
With the Anubite literally at his feet, Meriui tries the combination of a quick, low snap kick at the Anubite's head, followed with a heel stomp into the creature's back.
---
Unarmed Flurry 1, lethal: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Unarmed Flurry 2, lethal: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Damage 1: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Damage 2: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Well, THAT looks to have been a pretty good round fo combat for Meriui!
Wyldyrn Cor'amnis
Wyldyrn nods his thanks to Abal for the assistance and then moves around behind the Anubite attacking Ghersh flanking. His fingers shimmer for a moment before white flames burst to life around his hands! Wyldyrn reaches out towards the strange creature...
Touch of Flame: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
ToF damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Ghersh ibn Nader
As the anubite closes with Ghersh, the cavalier's readied attack goes off.
Readied longspear melee attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Grunting from the impact of the club, Ghersh steps back to be able to attack again with the longspear.
Flanking longspear melee attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Also, Ghersh is medium sized, so I don't know how a summoned creature and a party member are both using me for a flank.
Shanosuke
Round Two Results
Meriui knocks down the Anubite then proceeds to pummel the beast.
Faruq finally breaks free.
Abal's centipede attacks but misses.
Wyldyrn moves to flank with Meriui and severely burns the Anubite on the ground.
Ghersh thrusts at the Anubite but misses, he then steps back and thrusts again scoring a solid hit this time.
Both Anubites are hurting badly but seem very persistent in continuing to fight.
The ground anubite attacks Meriui with his club but misses.
The second Anubite moves up to swing at Ghersh and also misses.
Round Three Begin!
The one Anubite is still on the floor.
Both are horribly injure, you could easily take them out this round so long as at least one hit is scored on each.
Your Turns.
Meriui bin Mircea
The young man picks up the foot he just smashed into the Anubite's back, and spins around and down into a Dragon stance. As the Anubite swings the club at him, Meriui leans over the club, transferring his weight onto his hands where the club had already passed while lifting his legs up off the floor and out of the path of the club.
Then he twists slightly, trying to bring his knees down across the torso of the Anubite, "bouncing" into a horse stance after making that contact.
---
Unarmed Flurry 1, lethal w/ Flank: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 2 = 10 Not very promising, that.
Unarmed Flurry 2, lethal w/ Flank: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 + 2 = 19
Damage 1: 1d6 ⇒ 3 Probably irrelevant.
Damage 2: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Shanosuke
I agree. I was expecting this to be casual but not this slow. I will take Abal's and Wyldyrn's turns and move this along.
between the remainder of your attacks the two Anubites fall.
The cave is now clear off foes and Abal's centipede disappears.
You can all hear the sounds of battle coming from outside the cave.
The scene that appears before you. Just outside the cave is a battle. You see Anubites battling against human men and women wearing trousers and armored straps. They are wielding falchions and scimitars and seem to be doing well.
With your perception, about 50 feet from you is your gear. Neatly wrapped up and sitting next to draft animals.
Again, the humans are doing...well, not great but well enough were they will barely well. And you do now?
Meriui bin Mircea
Less concerned about gear than the others, Meriui attempts to take stock of the situation outside.
"Our gear is close, but a force of humans are attacking the Anubite camp. The enemy of our enemy is busy."
Wyldyrn Cor'amnis
Sorry, I hadn't posted, because I assumed Meriui took out the anubite he and I were attacking. I was simply waiting for the others to finish off their enemy. Being completely naked and without any gear limits one's actions.....
Wyldyrn joins Meriui near the mouth of the cave. He cannot see nearly as far as the monk, nor can he spot the nearby gear. "I say we make for our weapons and armor, allow the battle to cover some of our movements. We will not last in the desert without clothing and shelter. I cannot see our equipment, so I must follow one of you."
Shanosuke
Being without gear at the moment and the battle is in the opposite direction, no one either sees you or takes notice. None stop you from retrieving your gear.
The battle appears to be going in the favor of the humans and will likely end with their victory. They have mounts, numbers, and stronger weapons.
Do you wish to don all of your gear or simply draw a weapon and join the fray? If you chose to put on your gear the battle will end by the time you finish getting everything on.
Meriui bin Mircea
Seeing the others race out after their weapons, Meriui moves out and interposes himself between them and the ongoing fight, trying to defend them while their attention is diverted from the dangers.
