Stealth: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (15) - 3 = 12
Stowing his weapon Victor moves up to the 2 ratfolk to see if their dead or just unconscious. He then checks their bodies for loot.
"Vardyr, please check the door and make certain we haven't been found out. We should also check these supplies to see if they have anything we can use."
Vardyr
Stowing his blowgun in his pack and lifting his bow.
Be right there
Stealth roll 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
He walks to the door and checks to see if it is locked or trapped
Perception check 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
I'm going to go ahead and roll for if neither of those things are true. If they are, then disregard this next part
He silently opens the door
Stealth check 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
He then checks for good or bad news
Perception check 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Neerwyn Coppertail
Neerwyn lowers his crossbow and nods in approval of the group's combat performance. "Not bad, not bad at all" he says to no one in particular. Still moving carefully, Neerwyn notices the handaxes that the ratmen carried. Those things look like they hurt.. perhaps I should take some more precautions, there's bound to be more of them. Neerwyn utters a few strange words and gestures with one of his hands before moving on.
Stealth: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Cast Mage Armor, AC is now 18
Porter Clayborne
Similar to Neerwyn, Porter was rather impressed by their showing do far. He gives an approving nod, and following a comment from Vardyr, asks: "I do see your point about ranged weapons which are silent. If the rest of you are OK, I will take one pair of these?" - he points to one of the shortbows with a quiver of arrows, as well as one of the handaxes.
Next he turns in general direction where the elf went, and awaits to ee their further course of action.
If the rest of you are OK with it, Porter will take shortbow + 20 arrows and a handaxe

Initiative Rolls need to be included in your next post. The ratfolk and Vardyr act in the surprise round, then everyone enters on their initiative count.
Vardyr
His eyes open up wide. He waves at the guards. Only exposing his right hand and his face. While reaching for the ready blowgun at his belt.
Hoping for concealment
Hey you! he spoke with a hint of conspiratorical whisper
What the hell am I doing?!
Yeah you, we need your help over here. Your boss says he wants us to outfit you guys with some better armor and weapons. We were wondering if you could check the supplies in here and see what you want.
Roll for bluff1d20 - 2 ⇒ (4) - 2 = 2
Roll for initiative in case of retaliation 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Edit: Roll for sleight of hand 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Neerwyn Coppertail
Alarmed by Vardyr's conversation out loud? Neerwyn hears the Elf make up a very bad sounding lie. Not all have the habit of deception in their blood Neerwyn smirks slightly as the realization of more combat dawns on him.
Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Vardyr
Just in case the others haven't caught on yet, Vardyr motions for the others to come to the door.
We also have so many cookies in here and were wondering if you wanted some?
Roll for bluff if it applies 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (4) - 2 = 2
Dragon Battalion GM
The ratfolk are obviously not impressed.
One bolts up a winding staircase to the floor above while the other two take a defensive stance and ready their weapons.
Everyone should have their initiative count and can begin posting their actions. Once all actions are decided, I'll wrap up round 1 and we'll continue to round 2. All ratfolk are 40 ft. from the doorway leading down. There are no places to take cover. The staircase is at the far end of the room, 80 ft. from the doorway.
Vardyr
My current initiative is 6
Reaches and pulls out the short bow instead, nocks an arrow and fires.
Roll for attack on ratfolk on the left1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Damage1d6 - 2 ⇒ (3) - 2 = 1
Pulls back behind the wall. Looks back at the group distraught.
Sorry guys, I thought it would save us time, and possibly be humorous...
Neerwyn Coppertail
ah yes range, such a trivial thing
:D
I'll start walking
Neerwyn hurries to the next room and once he sees the two alarmed ratfolk he aims his crossbow at the one farthest away and fires a bolt at him.
Attack with crossbow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 2
Move action to move into room, not too far though!
Porter Clayborne
If possible, Porter would aim for the ratfolk (ratperson?!) running up the stairs. I am aware that gunshot would still probably alarm the others, but I'd rather have them alarmed by gunshot and not knowing what is happening, then fully informed on our disposition.
Additionally, my musket range increment is 40', which I could extend to 50' through the use of one of my greet deeds, but I guess that fleeing ratfolk is at more than 50', even with my movement? So I will post a shoot at him with -2 (2nd range increment, 40-80' away)
Seeing that enemy is alarmed, Porter moves forward, towards the ratfolk, aligning for a shot.
Musket attack 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 6 - 2 = 22
Potential damage 1d12 ⇒ 6
Porter Clayborne
As said above - if possible, Porter would like to try and shoot the ratfolk running for/up the stairs (I even took -2 penalty for range). If not, then he would shoot the left one.
Doctor Ruby Redhat wrote:Ruby will wait as he thinks the sound shot will give the game awayI think that went out the window when Porter took his shot.
Victor, do you believe it was a wrong call on my part to shoot? My understanding was that we already have a "runner" who would inform others of us, so my reasoning was - better if we shoot him, even if that raises alarm, than to have "the runaway" reporting back on us with all the details. Is that OK or you believe we had better options at our disposal?
Vardyr
Either way, we were screwed on that aspect. For one we have someone to inform them to come prepared, or we have a gun to let them know "oh s+%& they have a wizard! Or something that goes boom at the very least" If you killed the rat, our odds were the same. Which sucks... Because I couldn't have done a thing about it now that I think about it... unless I held my action til one moved... but then someone would have escaped... Bags!

@Porter: No, shooting wasn't a bad choice at all. I simply meant that since you were going to shoot, Ruby may as well shoot too. It would either be shoot him and have the shot alert them or he would escape and tell them anyway. Rock>(US)<Hardplace

Going with no changes then.
I'll update the combat tonight as I need to think out more than just this floor.
As well, this is just a general warning I'm making in all my PbP. My schedule is going to be wonky for the next week or so as I'm staying with my dad. Don't be afraid if I miss a day or two. I'll let you all know when I'm back at home. Cheers.

Sure, go right on ahead. But in the meantime...
The barrage of bullets and attacks coming from your group catches the ratfolk viciously.
Ratfolk (Left): 7
Ratfolk (Right): 2
You can tell that the leftmost ratfolk is severely wounded while the other one is still quite fine.
Both fire their shortbows, both at Vardyr (who was the first one they spotted, and the closest)
Attack 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Attack 2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Confirming Crit: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Damage 1: 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
Damage 2: 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3
Crit Damage if confirmed: 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
Vardyr: 3 damage taken (really lucky there)
The last ratfolk has already vanished upstairs.
Round 2 begins
Neerwyn Coppertail
With satisfaction, Neerwyn sees his bolt hit the ratfolk. With obvious effort he reloads his crossbow and sends another bolt flying towards the ratfolk.
Attack right Ratfolk with crossbow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Crit confirmation: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 1
crit damage: 1d8 ⇒ 3

Round 2
Initiative 11
Seeing that left creature is still standing, even though wounded, makes Porter curse loudly. Moving a bit closer, he takes careful aim and shoots at the left ratfolk again.
Musket attack 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27*Pointblank range (vs. touch armor)
Potential damage 1d12 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
EDIT: Wooohooo, a crit...not that I need it
Crit confirm 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13*Pointblank range (vs. touch armor)
Potential damage 1d12 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Potential damage 1d12 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
Potential damage 1d12 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Vardyr
[/ooc] Initiative of 6[/dice]
He feels a twang of pain and looks down at his left shoulder.
Ahahahaha, They got me!
He looks down again in horror, pulls out his next arrow, nocks, pulls out from the wall and moves in to within 25 feet of the right ratfolk and fires.
Attack roll with short bow 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Damage if hit 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3
Dragon Battalion GM
The next volley of attacks takes the ratfolks completely down. By bullet and arrow the enemies are taken care of quite completely.
With that critical I decided to allow you to finish off the other ratfolk, that was beautiful.
You hear the sounds of clamoring and armor coming from upstairs. The ratfolk are most likely alerted to your presence now. Nevertheless, there isn't that much noise so you might stand a chance to take them down.
