"Drink?" says the miniscule dragon as he dances tipsily around the table. "I drink I'll have a think."
Perform dance: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31
He suddenly realizes that he can't see the barmaid anymore (having spun around to face the other way. He'll fall backwards, at which point he can see the barmaid again and everything is wonderful. "Bring me something sweet and colorful. Sweet and colorful just like you!
diplomacy: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (20) + 16 = 36
Obviously, I'm getting off to a good start!

Eglian, fiddling with some clay, looks up. "Sure. Anything that's good. Nothing too expensive, though." He gives the barmaid a smile, then returns to fiddling with his clay, which he places on the counter, cutting the tip of his finger and letting some very thick, very viscous blood drip onto it, which instantly starts walking around.
Full pouch+Homunculus clay to gain a Homunculus for 1 hour.

The barmaid disappears for a moment, then appears right back, carrying a normal ale, which she gives to Eglian. She looks at Eglian and says "That will be 5 gold."
She also carries out a large meal, containing a massive turkey leg, a loaf of bread, and a bubbling red alcohol. The meal looks to be at least 100 gp. She says to IxivixI "Free of charge."

Eglian says nothing, but raises an eyebrow. For some reason, nearly the entire multivese sold ale at a 4 cp a mug. The small dragon-like creature on his shoulder leaps off, retrieving a small purse from Eglian's belongings. Eglian reaches inside the bag, and pulls out five golden-colored discs.
"Here you go. Five gold pieces."
Bluff: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30
Updated profile, removed five copper pieces. They'll stay gold for an hour thanks to magic, and she'll believe that they're gold for at least a minute- longer, if she isn't staring at them. I love Power of Suggestion. Second most overpowered trait in the game. For a DC 20 Bluff check, I can convince someone I'm paying in gold, not copper. Combine with prestidigitation for bonus fun. He always prestidigitation going, by the way, so he didn't cast any spells this round.

"Awww... how nice!" He'll flutter up to kiss the barmaid's cheek.
After she leaves, he'll offer to share the food. "This is way too much for me. The food weighs more than I do! Feel free to share." He'll tear off a bit of the food for himself.

IxivixI |

"I'm IxivixI, which means I'm a palindrome." As the new person sits down, he'll bend his head around to look under the hood. He'll address the newcomer, "By the way it's not raining in here."

IxivixI |

He cocks his head at the newcomer. "Oh, I'm classified as a Fashion Accessory, Miscellaneous, Harmonized Tariff Schedule 7117.90.9000."
Perception: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (19) + 18 = 37 Darkvision, Low Light, and True Seeing

IxivixI |

Ixy looks around confused at the description, but when he sees Egalian smirk, he just nods along and tries to play it cool. Since the "Human" seems to know about negotiating, he lets him continue.

IxivixI |

"Who would be the wrong hands and who would be the right hands?" he asks with a pointed finger. As he does so, he keeps a close watch on the figure to see what their reaction is.
sense motive: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15
...and yet he seems distracted as he realized he pointed with the wrong hand and points again, with his right hand.

Eglian raises a quizzical eyebrow at the man's response, "I wasn't aware we had a job at the moment. I thought we were still deciding whether or not to accept your job offer, and I must say that your response doesn't exactly inspire confidence. Do we really want to work for you?"
Not trying to ignore the plot hook, just responding IC.

IxivixI |

Egalian, Verinstal, and Schrodinger's Minotaur will all hear a telepathic voice in their heads, *You know, once we have the artifacts, we would then have leverage to determine whose hands he thinks are right.*

Eglian 代 |

True, true. Eglian thinks, his voice echoing in the telepathic link, Also, you're a telepath? My, you're full of surprises, aren't you?
"Very well, mister... I'm sorry, I don't think I caught your name. I'm Eglian. I accept your offer, on one condition. You tell us what the artifacts you retrieve are going to be used for and how you hope to keep them from 'falling into the wrong hands,' as you put it."

Eglian 代 |

Eglian continues to fidget with something hidden in his trailing sleeves. Those looking see him passing a ball of clay between his hands, dividing it into two pieces of the same size of the first ball. He keeps doing this every few seconds, putting the clay into a pouch on his belt.
So, let's see.... A homunculus clay, created twice every round via full pouch and Dual Initiative, for even a minute is 20 homunculus clays, and at a value of 2,250 gp each... I think we need to take a quick shopping trip to the City of Brass before our first mission.
Like I said, wreck WBL.

IxivixI |

Ixi holds his breath as the newcomer sits silently without responding to the question. (Of course, he didn't need to breathe, but it was a habit. Very useful for gasping and showing that you are waiting in suspense) After waiting for what seemed like a week, he asks, "Are you okay Mister?"
Since the robe seemed to prevent even enchanted eyes from seeing past it, he flies up, ready to peek his head in to see if there was anybody in there.

IxivixI |

"No, they tried a pitiful line, but marketing killed it off early. I'm bubbly!" There doesn't seem to be any offense taken. And since he's not the dragon being referred to, he doesn't move back.
"hmm... The strange delays and forgetting things after a few moments... Were you revived after falling through the ice?" but he shakes his head, "But we should get back to Egalian's question." His voice changes to match Egalian's, "You tell us what the artifacts you retrieve are going to be used for and how you hope to keep them from 'falling into the wrong hands,' as you put it."

IxivixI |

In his mind, he'll tell the disguised undead, the less cute dragon, and the quantum minotaur, **He's lying. I say we play along and then figure out what to do with the artifacts once we've got them. After all, if they were as tough as us they wouldn't need to hire us.**

Eglian 代 |

Agreed. Besides, the artifacts themselves might prove useful in that regard as well. I have significant arcane power myself, I'm fairly certain that I can keep anything short of a deity hidden and safe. However, could we stop by the plane of fire on the way? I need to buy some things in the City of Brass to prepare for a group adventure.

Eglian 代 |

"Very well. What is our first target?"
Eglian seems distracted as he says this, and those interested notice channels of energy coursing through his body.
Well, no point in delaying it. +5 inherent bonus to all ability scores over the next minute. Still think the two of us aren't powerful enough? *evil grin*
