You're all sitting within the inter-dimensional tavern, a sprawling dimension that holds all manner of people, all in one massive tavern.

You 3 are sitting at a bar, where a barmaid walks up.

"Can I get you something to drink?"

AC 68/47/52 (20% concealment); Saves F7 R23 W19; Init +35/+15; Perc +34 (True Seeing, blindsight 60, aura sight, arcane sight, speechreader's sight, greensight') HP 60/60; Temp HP 31/31; SP 60/65

"Drink?" says the miniscule dragon as he dances tipsily around the table. "I drink I'll have a think."

Perform dance: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31

He suddenly realizes that he can't see the barmaid anymore (having spun around to face the other way. He'll fall backwards, at which point he can see the barmaid again and everything is wonderful. "Bring me something sweet and colorful. Sweet and colorful just like you!

diplomacy: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (20) + 16 = 36

Obviously, I'm getting off to a good start!

Eglian, fiddling with some clay, looks up. "Sure. Anything that's good. Nothing too expensive, though." He gives the barmaid a smile, then returns to fiddling with his clay, which he places on the counter, cutting the tip of his finger and letting some very thick, very viscous blood drip onto it, which instantly starts walking around.

Full pouch+Homunculus clay to gain a Homunculus for 1 hour.

The barmaid disappears for a moment, then appears right back, carrying a normal ale, which she gives to Eglian. She looks at Eglian and says "That will be 5 gold."

She also carries out a large meal, containing a massive turkey leg, a loaf of bread, and a bubbling red alcohol. The meal looks to be at least 100 gp. She says to IxivixI "Free of charge."

Eglian says nothing, but raises an eyebrow. For some reason, nearly the entire multivese sold ale at a 4 cp a mug. The small dragon-like creature on his shoulder leaps off, retrieving a small purse from Eglian's belongings. Eglian reaches inside the bag, and pulls out five golden-colored discs.
"Here you go. Five gold pieces."
Bluff: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30

Updated profile, removed five copper pieces. They'll stay gold for an hour thanks to magic, and she'll believe that they're gold for at least a minute- longer, if she isn't staring at them. I love Power of Suggestion. Second most overpowered trait in the game. For a DC 20 Bluff check, I can convince someone I'm paying in gold, not copper. Combine with prestidigitation for bonus fun. He always prestidigitation going, by the way, so he didn't cast any spells this round.

She puts the copper pieces in a small pouch mark with runes, but the pouch doesn't appear to get any heavier.

"Thank you."

AC 68/47/52 (20% concealment); Saves F7 R23 W19; Init +35/+15; Perc +34 (True Seeing, blindsight 60, aura sight, arcane sight, speechreader's sight, greensight') HP 60/60; Temp HP 31/31; SP 60/65

"Awww... how nice!" He'll flutter up to kiss the barmaid's cheek.

After she leaves, he'll offer to share the food. "This is way too much for me. The food weighs more than I do! Feel free to share." He'll tear off a bit of the food for himself.

Eglian smiles at the tiny dragon, and takes a small piece of meat.

"Thank you, friend, though I do not require much sustenance to survive. I'm Eglian. What's your name?"

Where does the food that a construct eats go, anyway?

wherever the food whatever you're send it.

After a few minutes of eating, a hooded figure approachs the bar and sits down.

AC 68/47/52 (20% concealment); Saves F7 R23 W19; Init +35/+15; Perc +34 (True Seeing, blindsight 60, aura sight, arcane sight, speechreader's sight, greensight') HP 60/60; Temp HP 31/31; SP 60/65

"I'm IxivixI, which means I'm a palindrome." As the new person sits down, he'll bend his head around to look under the hood. He'll address the newcomer, "By the way it's not raining in here."

Eglian gives the newcomer a quick nod in greeting.
Anything else we notice about the new guy? Race, age, general appearance, weapons, gear?Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

You can barely see anything about this man, but he quickly turns towards you 3.

"Who are you three? Adventurers?"

AC 68/47/52 (20% concealment); Saves F7 R23 W19; Init +35/+15; Perc +34 (True Seeing, blindsight 60, aura sight, arcane sight, speechreader's sight, greensight') HP 60/60; Temp HP 31/31; SP 60/65

He cocks his head at the newcomer. "Oh, I'm classified as a Fashion Accessory, Miscellaneous, Harmonized Tariff Schedule 7117.90.9000."

Perception: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (19) + 18 = 37 Darkvision, Low Light, and True Seeing

Eglian shrugs, "Just a wanderer far, far away from home. Planar anomaly, being out of time, planetouched, whatever you want to call me."

Male Taninim (Magma) Draconic Exemplar 5

A dragon, about the size of a human, sits down at the bar after the strange man. He looks at everybody, shrugs, and buys a fire ale.

The man looks around, and says:

"You look like tough enough folk. Would you be open to a job offer?"

Male Taninim (Magma) Draconic Exemplar 5

Looking at the man, the dragon says:

"Sure, depending on the job."

"Why not? What's the job, though? " Eglian shrugs.

"I have some artifacts that need hunting, and 2 dragons and a man look good enough to do it."

Eglian smirks when he's referred to as a human, but nods nonetheless.
"Sounds interesting enough. What's in it for us, though, and how likely is it our actions will bring around the apocalypse? Also, what's your interest in these?"

AC 68/47/52 (20% concealment); Saves F7 R23 W19; Init +35/+15; Perc +34 (True Seeing, blindsight 60, aura sight, arcane sight, speechreader's sight, greensight') HP 60/60; Temp HP 31/31; SP 60/65

Ixy looks around confused at the description, but when he sees Egalian smirk, he just nods along and tries to play it cool. Since the "Human" seems to know about negotiating, he lets him continue.

"Smart people won't bring about the apocalypse. And I'm just a collector, historian, and here to prevent these artifacts from falling into the wrong hands."

AC 68/47/52 (20% concealment); Saves F7 R23 W19; Init +35/+15; Perc +34 (True Seeing, blindsight 60, aura sight, arcane sight, speechreader's sight, greensight') HP 60/60; Temp HP 31/31; SP 60/65

"Who would be the wrong hands and who would be the right hands?" he asks with a pointed finger. As he does so, he keeps a close watch on the figure to see what their reaction is.

sense motive: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15

...and yet he seems distracted as he realized he pointed with the wrong hand and points again, with his right hand.

"Ah, the apocalypse isn't too bad. But I must agree with the pocket dragon. How do we know that you're the right hands?"

Sorry for the lack of posting. Life's been hectic this last week.

"Is it your job to ask, or to work? It's none of your business who's the right hands, just that I'll get them to the the right hands."

Eglian raises a quizzical eyebrow at the man's response, "I wasn't aware we had a job at the moment. I thought we were still deciding whether or not to accept your job offer, and I must say that your response doesn't exactly inspire confidence. Do we really want to work for you?"
Not trying to ignore the plot hook, just responding IC.

Don't worry. Not really a plot hook.

AC 68/47/52 (20% concealment); Saves F7 R23 W19; Init +35/+15; Perc +34 (True Seeing, blindsight 60, aura sight, arcane sight, speechreader's sight, greensight') HP 60/60; Temp HP 31/31; SP 60/65

Egalian, Verinstal, and Schrodinger's Minotaur will all hear a telepathic voice in their heads, *You know, once we have the artifacts, we would then have leverage to determine whose hands he thinks are right.*

True, true. Eglian thinks, his voice echoing in the telepathic link, Also, you're a telepath? My, you're full of surprises, aren't you?

"Very well, mister... I'm sorry, I don't think I caught your name. I'm Eglian. I accept your offer, on one condition. You tell us what the artifacts you retrieve are going to be used for and how you hope to keep them from 'falling into the wrong hands,' as you put it."

Eglian continues to fidget with something hidden in his trailing sleeves. Those looking see him passing a ball of clay between his hands, dividing it into two pieces of the same size of the first ball. He keeps doing this every few seconds, putting the clay into a pouch on his belt.

So, let's see.... A homunculus clay, created twice every round via full pouch and Dual Initiative, for even a minute is 20 homunculus clays, and at a value of 2,250 gp each... I think we need to take a quick shopping trip to the City of Brass before our first mission.
Like I said, wreck WBL.

AC 68/47/52 (20% concealment); Saves F7 R23 W19; Init +35/+15; Perc +34 (True Seeing, blindsight 60, aura sight, arcane sight, speechreader's sight, greensight') HP 60/60; Temp HP 31/31; SP 60/65

Ixi holds his breath as the newcomer sits silently without responding to the question. (Of course, he didn't need to breathe, but it was a habit. Very useful for gasping and showing that you are waiting in suspense) After waiting for what seemed like a week, he asks, "Are you okay Mister?"

Since the robe seemed to prevent even enchanted eyes from seeing past it, he flies up, ready to peek his head in to see if there was anybody in there.

The man looks at IxivixI and says: "Shoo. Out of my face pitiful dragon."

"Oh, so you're still alive? Good. Do you recall our conversation at all? Also, it may prove useful to show some respect for those you're trying to hire for a job."

AC 68/47/52 (20% concealment); Saves F7 R23 W19; Init +35/+15; Perc +34 (True Seeing, blindsight 60, aura sight, arcane sight, speechreader's sight, greensight') HP 60/60; Temp HP 31/31; SP 60/65

"No, they tried a pitiful line, but marketing killed it off early. I'm bubbly!" There doesn't seem to be any offense taken. And since he's not the dragon being referred to, he doesn't move back.

"hmm... The strange delays and forgetting things after a few moments... Were you revived after falling through the ice?" but he shakes his head, "But we should get back to Egalian's question." His voice changes to match Egalian's, "You tell us what the artifacts you retrieve are going to be used for and how you hope to keep them from 'falling into the wrong hands,' as you put it."

The artifacts will be promptly sent to a group of angels for protection. Sound good?

"I will accept that. What compensation will we gain for our efforts?"

AC 68/47/52 (20% concealment); Saves F7 R23 W19; Init +35/+15; Perc +34 (True Seeing, blindsight 60, aura sight, arcane sight, speechreader's sight, greensight') HP 60/60; Temp HP 31/31; SP 60/65

sense motive: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27

"Absolutely. You will be paid handsomely, depending on how many artifacts you retrieve."

IxivixI: You see him refuse to maintain looking at someone for any amount of time. You can tell he is lying.

AC 68/47/52 (20% concealment); Saves F7 R23 W19; Init +35/+15; Perc +34 (True Seeing, blindsight 60, aura sight, arcane sight, speechreader's sight, greensight') HP 60/60; Temp HP 31/31; SP 60/65

In his mind, he'll tell the disguised undead, the less cute dragon, and the quantum minotaur, **He's lying. I say we play along and then figure out what to do with the artifacts once we've got them. After all, if they were as tough as us they wouldn't need to hire us.**

Agreed. Besides, the artifacts themselves might prove useful in that regard as well. I have significant arcane power myself, I'm fairly certain that I can keep anything short of a deity hidden and safe. However, could we stop by the plane of fire on the way? I need to buy some things in the City of Brass to prepare for a group adventure.

AC 68/47/52 (20% concealment); Saves F7 R23 W19; Init +35/+15; Perc +34 (True Seeing, blindsight 60, aura sight, arcane sight, speechreader's sight, greensight') HP 60/60; Temp HP 31/31; SP 60/65

**Ooh, travelling! A quick little jaunt would be fun.**

"Very well. What is our first target?"
Eglian seems distracted as he says this, and those interested notice channels of energy coursing through his body.

Well, no point in delaying it. +5 inherent bonus to all ability scores over the next minute. Still think the two of us aren't powerful enough? *evil grin*

Eglian narrows his eyes, studying his new employer carefully.
