Tribim thinks for a moment, as they prepare to leave. "Now we just need to figure out what part of town he was from so we know where to bury him."
Tribim can't for the life of him recall where slaves of the proper age would have been buried. It might be something he could find out from Zummabu.
Tribim
Samnell, I assume a quick narration is ok, if not please interrupt :-)
As they are leaving Zummabu's house, Tribim asks the gardener if they can borrow a few shovels. Once they get the shovels he leads the team to the location of the burial ground. After the bones are placed in the fresh hole, he asks. "Does anyone want to say a few words?"
Amarekashu the Bronze
"Your who were a servitor in life. You who gave your life for that duty. You who were left in the dark. Go now to the realm of the Gods, for the greatest of rewards and a taste of eternal paradise. You have earned it." If any deserved such a thing it was this child, Amarekashu felt.
Tribim
'If not for Zummabu I could have ended like this.' Tribim nods his head in silent agreement with Amerakashu's eulogy and Regin Ald's simple rites.
'It seems impolite to talk business a the grave side.' When they are finished he walks away from the grave waiting until they reach the road to speak. "Seems like were on our way to deal with the elementals. We will pass through the market on our way out of town, if anyone needs to purchase anything." As promised he leads the party through a large market on the way out of town and then back to the hidden tomb.
I assume if anyone needs to purchase anything they may have forgotten they can. Otherwise can we head back to the tomb and the elementals? Or is there another scene?
Samnell
The place where Eluti and his family labored was long a ruin, sand blown in drifts against the walls of a large house that must have been fine in its day. Whatever hovels the slaves had were buried or fallen away. It took a few minutes to pick out where Zummabu believed the burial ground likely was. Only a few stelae still marked it, most long since fallen, shattered, or carried off for other uses. The work was made harder still by the several large pits and piles of loose sand that had just begun to slide back into them as the wind drove it. A few abandoned shovels lay nearby, not yet buried.

'Did someone come looking for whoever used him as canon-fodder?' Assisting Regin in looking around, Tribim asks, "I wonder what they were looking for."
aid another: perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
is there anything left of the building itself?

Yes. :)
Regin's close look about the holes shows him sand, more sand, shovels, and a place where one pile of sand has an odd shift in its angle that the wind couldn't likely account for. It looks as though something large was dragged or pushed by, in the general direction of Dalath.
Tribim, looking toward the walls of the master's house, spotted some sort of motion within the heavy walls. Something large.
Tribim
'well that's either very good or very bad.' Tribim moves closer to Namtar, "Hey Namtar, did you see anything moving inside the building?"
Then moving closer to Regin, nodding slightly toward the house he asks the others. "Once were done out here, maybe we should ask about what happened from whoever is moving around in the house."

Did he see anything inside the buildign?
[ooc]That is a great question.. let's have him do that now.

Regin stands from inspecting the nearly-erased groove in the sand and slowly starts approaching the building.
Tribim shrugs and begins to follow Regin Ald. Keeping a keen eye out as he goes.

Amarekashu the Bronze
Amarekashu shot the others a did he just say bear? look and didn't approach. Few things were bigger and stronger than Amarekashu without magic or alchemy, and a bear was one of them.
Tribim
Having a gift for stating the obvious, "Hey guys, that looks like a bear. Can any of you speak with animals?"
Arundel
Arundel shakes his head. "I cannot. I have an illusion spell prepared - perhaps we could lead it away somehow?"
Wondering if using Silent Image with a deer or something could lead the bear far enough away so that we could safely continue exploring?
Tribim
Namtar saw the hindquarters of a large bear, facing away from him and nuzzling something on the ground. As it shifted about, it made a low sound halfway between a hoot and a growl.
is this in the house or outside the house? If it is in the house are we looking in a door or a window?
"Hmmmm, I've never seen a bear this close to town before. Actually, I've never seen a bear before at all!" Looking over to Arundel, "If we can distract it, maybe a little lightning or wind would chase it away."
Tribim
Tribim scratches his head, "I don't doubt that you could easily kill it Namtar. But, I'd rather scare it of than kill it. Maybe if we throw a rock at it and yell real loud. If it forces us to fight it we could, but I would want that to be a last resort."
Picking up a rock he turns to the others and asks, "What else could we do just to scare it off?"

Sorry everyone. Brief illness coincided with sleep deprivation and my mother having eye surgery done.
The bear is within. You're looking in through a smallish gap in the wall that may once have been a window. If the bear sees the deer and feels hungry, it might go for a silent image luring it away. Only one way to find out. May not be a good idea to cast where it's likely to hear the casting, though.

It's cool Samnell, hope you and your mother are doing better.
Not sure what to do here. I am going to say that having Tribim strip down, smear his body with honey and run through the building is OUT.
Tribim looks nervously from the bear to the others...

She's better than before, actually. They cut into her eye and now she doesn't need glasses in that one. Next is next Monday.
Also anything involving slathering things on nude halflings is likely to work in one of my games...
Arundel
"Hold yourselves ready, in case this doesn't work." Arundel whispers to the others. Then he backs up, trying to get enough distance between him and the bear so as to keep it from hearing the casting, before performing a quick chant and making a few quick gestures. Then a deer appears, just outside the building in front of an opening. If the bear takes notice, he'll make it move away from the bear, drawing it away.
Not sure of the layout here, but assuming you can fill in the blanks. Silent Image has a good range on it, so I should be able to get far enough away. Assuming there is some sort of opening for the bear to have gotten in. Trying to lead it away from us, preferably in the direction of uninhabited areas.

Arundel's illusory deer appears. The bear continues with whatever it was doing for a moment, then sights the deer and launches itself toward the animal and away from the group.
Tribim
'Good, no honey needed.' Smiling and winking at Arundel, Tribim watches the bear leave.
"Well that worked well. Let's see what we can find, err I mean learn."Once the bear is well past the door, he goes to the entrance and carefully looks in.
Tribim will go to the door the bear exited. If no one is in a hurry he will take 20 (28) looking around for traps and other goodies.

'I wonder how long the arm has been...unattached.' Tribim looks at the arm, then turning away, "Ew, do you think the bear lives here? How else could the arm have gotten here?"
heal: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Does it look like the bear lived here? Or that the bear brought the arm in? I assume were going to roll a 'knowledge: Nature for that info...
Amarekashu the Bronze
"I suppose he dug up a recent grave." Meat was meat, and whoever used to own the arm seemed done with it now. One way or another.
Amarekashu took a look back into the graveyard, to see if there were a hole. "We may wish to report this. This graveyard obvious isn't meant to be used now."

You found a hole earlier.
Tribim found some droppings, but nothing that looked to him much like a den. The arm looked like it might have lain outside for a few days -it was a bit dry, where the bear hadn't gnawed- but not for longer than that. Amid the rot, Tribim marked a tattoo. It looked to be a personal seal of some sort.
Tribim
I was wondering if the arm was 'fresh' or not. Or if it could be from the grave. That may let us guess at how 'fresh' the grave may have been.
Tribim points to the 'personal seal' tattooed on the arm, "Hey guys, do any of you recognize that? Should we draw a picture of it and see if we can find out more?"
Nodding toward the dug up grave back outside, "Do we want to see if it goes back in the grave outside? Or is there anything else we need to investigate?"
