Here are some issues that were brought to my attention. I appreciate it as I am new to this edition and things might slip past me.

Rai Zon has added more Foci Force than he's allowed by character gen and his choices. The Limit is Magic * 2 and he currently has 5 Force bonded to him right now. He also needs to specify what his licenses are and spend his free Contact points and spend the rest of his nuyen down to at least 5,000 or he will lose any money over that (which currently sits at 279,300 out of 325,000).

Greywolf also hasn't spent anywhere near the amount of nuyen he needs to. He's currently sitting at 127,800 out of 210,000 He's also under spent his free karma by 2 points. He might have decided to do that intentionally but it would be good to bring it up.

The issue with Nuyen is from this part of the Character creation for reference. pg 94-"The character needs to spend the vast majority
of nuyen they have; by the end of this step, they may
choose to hold onto 5,000 nuyen or less and add it to
their starting nuyen (p. 95)"
If you are having trouble coming up with something to buy let me know, sometimes having a vehicle is not a bad choice if you have the skill.

What about all the cyberware i have? That money is spent. Also my magic with the power foci goes up allowing for more bonded, right?

Afraid not Rai Zon, the rules for Foci bonding specifically call out the Magic attribute, not your total Magic Rating. That's on page 318 and says:

"You can’t bond more foci than your Magic attribute, and the maximum Force of all your bonded foci can’t exceed your Magic x 5. Regardless of the number of bonded foci you have, only one focus may add its Force to a dice pool for any given test."

The specific restriction of Magic * 2 is on page 98 of the rulebook and only counts for character generation.

@Raven, you need to put in your Adept powers, including Astral Perception so that you can use the Skill Assensing. I also do not see contacts. One of your qualities is not something I have access too, but I might allow it if you can tell me what it isAgile Defender?

I have the astral perception, completely forgot contacts and add my power( it all on my papersheet at home).

Agile defender is from run and gun, it cost 3 karma and allows the use of agility instead of willpower during full defense.

(My phone or paizo is making hard to post right now, keep getting some security error)

I had planned on just leaving my comments to private messages as I don't wish to seem like I am usurping the GM's authority but as this is obviously a learning experience for a lot of people, I've decided to make this more public. Raven, for you, there's a lot of... math that is not optimal, and while that is technically "ok" it might be something you want to change. I've already given all of this to GM-Gathrix and I'm not sure what he might have told you but to go through it: You have 1 more free Knowledge/Language point to spend. Your Black Arms Dealer has too many points put into him. You cannot go over 7 points put into any Contact at Character Creation, split between Loyalty and Connections. So you have 3 more points to spend there with that fix. Then... you don't need to spend 15 Karma to raise LOG to 3 when you can spend just 10 Karma to raise Reaction to 2, giving you the point you need to put LOG at 3. For your skills, you are spending 12 Karma points to raise Assensing and Arcana each to 3, when you could use your Skill Points for that, and instead spend 8 Karma to buy your 1st point in 4 other skills. With those changes, you would currently be sitting at 16/35 Karma spent. Finally, your Nuyen, as far as I can tell is currently sitting at 90,720/100,000 which means you need to spend 4,280 more to be at the 5,000 minimum.

Greywolf, you are mostly ok. You are still underspent on Karma per your intention with 32/35 but I would mention that you can spend 2 Karma to add a 1 point skill or spend all 3 on a 2/1 Contact, just food for thought. Oh nice! I did not know you were using herolab also. Well you already did a lot of my work for me thanks.


As far as little things from other books, I am not too picky. The main thing is if you take things with rules I don't know or have access too it might make it difficult to make rulings on.

As far as optimization goes, this is going to be new player friendly. That is the kind of thing that experience teaches, but I appreciate Siren taking the time to help out with this.

Thanks Siren. I know I still had a few points left in Karma, but I did not think they would be worth spending...maybe a contact...but I was just going to roll them over. I must have some extra addons for my herolab..thought I had checked them all off...as to money...i was at 202175/210000...(still have a few thousand to spend I guess..lol) are you sure you have my most recent character?? I can send the .por as well if you want!

I checked this out the other day. I think there's only one 'path' per class that's covered under the srd :(

I made Bet-Axe with Herolab. Actually I can't imagine character creation without it.

You can download the demo of Herolab and use it to make the character and then fill out a sheet. You just can't save/create a pdf with the demo.

Well, anything I say that isn't something about breaking the rules of character gen are just polite suggestions. :)

I've gone over your equipment list again Greywolf and I am pretty sure I have everything down from what's in your profile. That's all I've built these print outs off of so far. If you've spent more in your herolab .por and didn't update your profile here on Paizo then that might be where this is coming from?

As for D&D 5... I'm afraid I've come to the conclusion that 5e isn't for me as a gamer, so I had not heard but I am glad they decided to bring back the OGL process.

@Siren,thx for the tips and I thought I remembered there was a max limit 7 for contacts but couldn´t find it in the book. Guess it should be more like this with extra 3 points.

Skill wise I would put my last knowledge skillpoint into Corperate security so its 4.

Not sure how much karma is left then but if there are 12 left i could use five skill points to bumb up other and get the R1 skill back for that.

Oh, one last thing I forgot for you Raven, your Contacts (gear) are illegal in character gen, the highest Availability we have as Prime Runners is 15, and your Contacts with their modification are at Availability 18.

For you Rai Zon, I don't see on your Profile where you've spent your 12 Contact Points... however, even putting all your current cyberware at Alpha only puts you at 295,500/325,000. I'm not comfortable spending your nuyen for you as its your character not mine.

However, if you want some suggestions, a better Commlink is always a good idea. A Fairlight Caliban is 8000 nuyen, which would raise your total by 7000 nuyen. Then, if you really can't think of anything else, you'd have 23K left over which you could put to buying another identity with say a safe house location? It's a good idea for a shadowrunner to have multiple locations to fall back to.
