Avora Teremocles
Avora stabs at her again, angered by the sudden healing.
Avora vs. Mierul: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23 (+2 if Sven is flanking (not sure))
Damage (spear): 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Sven Bjornson
The flame blade doesn't hit touch?
Sven cries out as the fiery blade passes through his armor and sears the flesh beneath. He briefly touches the wound before working in tandem with his druidic lover to assault the blue-skinned woman.
LoH: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Flank: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 10 + 2 = 15
Damage: 1d8 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
Bugsby Featherfoot
Hard to tell from the map, but based on the posts I think Bugsby can stand without AoO.
Bugsby scrambles to his feet, grasping at the chairs and table next to him with bloodied fingers. Finally regaining his feet he looks at the heal Mierul and spits out some blood, "Veryneattricksyougot!" he calls out with jealous honesty, and throws a protoplasm at the blue skinned lady.
Protoplasm (Ranged Touch) & # of rounds: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 151d3 ⇒ 3
HP 3/22, AC 17. Protoplasm 4/6 used.
Ankih Tohep
As Bugsby scrambles to his feet, Ankih again attempts to restore his health.
" May Sarenrae's light burn away your pain..."
Protect from evil burned for CLW: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
He then slips the vial of ink, unused, into his belt pouch.
So are all the little fae dead?
GM Mezegis
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 91d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Gilganis rushes forward and takes a swing at the forllaren, but misses badly. Looking around, and seeing her fae companions defeated and the odds stacked against her, Mierul tosses up her hands and dismissing the flaming sword, "I yield, you have bested me."
Sven Bjornson
Sven grinds his teeth in frustration, wanting more than anything in that moment to bury his axe in the woman’s neck, but knowing such an act would dishonor his father’s memory. It’s the hardest times that define a man…
He slips his weapon into its harness and retrieves a length of rope from his pack. He quickly, and roughly, begins to bind her hands.
”You’re going to tell us everything you know about this tower and what you’ve shared with your masters about us”, the hulking ulfen growls. ”We need to know what other guardians there are and how to reach the witch at this place’s heart. Speak a single false word and your surrender is forfeit, do you understand me?”
Intimidate: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Sense Motive whatever replies she gives: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19
Wow.
Bugsby Featherfoot
Bugsby limps over to her and searches her for hidden weapons, as gentlemanly as possible while still being thorough... Sooooo bluuuuuue.... he thinks before realizing he's staring, and gives his face a little slap, not trusting himself to speak to the lovely and dangerous Mierul.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9 Gurp...
He also detects magic on her person once more, remembering the aura's earlier, and removes anything he finds. That done he'll scan down the hallway and through the doors while standing in front of them, senses alert.
Avora Teremocles
Avora slows lowers her spear, but does not relax. She keeps a tight grip on the weapon as Mierul is searched. If the blue woman so much as twitches, the spear is lowered into attack position again.
GM Mezegis
"Could you please be more specific on what you mean by guardians? There are the guards of course, and the ravens, and the ravens handler, but there is also the cook, who gets fairly ornery if you disturb him. would you count Radosek's familiar as a guardian? Or what about Lady Argentea? She would surely defend herself if you barge into her chambers." responds Mierul meekly.
Sven Bjornson
"What else is in this tower that is going to get in between us and Radosek? And don't be coy. I am short on patience right now."
"Lady Argentea? She's here? This had better not be another trick", Sven growls. "Why would she be here?"
GM Mezegis
"That depends on the path you take. If you go directly to Radosek, nothing more than what I have said. If you check every room between us and he, then everyone will defend themselves. As far as Lady Argentea, she was here when I arrived after our little chase. Based on what the guards have been remarking, she has been here for a couple weeks." answers the forllaren, watching where Bugsby's hands go as he searches. His hands actually pass through some of the cloth, revealing that her dress is nothing more than a magical illusion, and she's been in her normal cloths the entire time.
She is being truthful, and I will provide a list of items you pluck from her person when I get home.
Bugsby Featherfoot
Bugsby pales a little as he realizes some of the clothes are illusion, and is extra careful to be as polite as possible during the frisking. Hearing the conversation about Lady Argentea, he snorts loudly, "By'chambers'ofcourseyoumen'Dungeon'! Right?!"
GM Mezegis
"Actually no. She is here seemingly of her own free will. I haven't seen her often, she likes to stay in her rooms mostly, but she can move about freely." says Mierul.
I will point out, it has only been about a week, maybe a smidge longer since you last saw her. Tricks with time gets kinda odd in PBP's.
Bugsby Featherfoot
Bugsby shakes his head disbelievingly, "Thatseemsimpossible! Isawthesceneofhercapture, itwasabloodbath! Whywouldshebemovingaboutfreely?...." and suddenly he recalls Mieruls own 'introduction' to the group, her pretend status as an innocent traveler. His eyes widen and he looks suddenly at Sven, "Sven! Youdon'tsupposeArgenteawasinleaguewiththewitches!?"
Sven Bjornson
The big man grows quiet as he struggles to process the information. After a moment he grunts and shakes his head.
”No, Argentea was upset, furious even. If she was in league with the witches all along, they wouldn’t have let Rohkar do what he did to her…”
Sven glances at the blue-skinned woman intently. ”It’s another trick, just like her trolls”, he concludes.
"What about this raven-keeper. Who is he? We need to separate him from his flock."
GM Mezegis
"Hardly another trick of mine." response Mierul with a bit of huff. When Avora takes objection to her tone, pressing the spear point against her icy blue flesh, she quickly adds, "She's right down the outer hall way to the south, ask her yourself. Though, I'd avoid the double doors to the south, unless you want to face Hestrig. No one has wanted to face Hestrig. Jairess is a cleric of Gozreh who has collected the local ravens and turned them into deadly flocks. Radosek even formed the aerie on the third floor for her to keep her pets close at hand. He fancies her you see, and chases after her when Nazhena is away."
Sven Bjornson
Sven’s heart aches again at the mention of Hestrig’s blade. Kalt always favored weapons like the two-handed blade…
”If she’s in league with the witches her days are numbered”, the big man growls. ”Greatsword or not.”
Kalt Ìsson
Yeah, my heart ached a bit at hearing about it too.
Says a ghostly voice.
Ankih Tohep
Listening in on the questioning, Ankih eventually just shrugs.
" I'll follow your expertise on this Sven. Raiding castles has never been a strong point for me."
Looking around he will motion everyone closer to Bugsby, and approach when they comply.
" Milady aid us in our pain, grant us the succor of your burning light."
channel: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 6) = 7
" Ah. Just a bit more..."
channel: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 6) = 7
Everyone but Bugsby should be at max health, and he should be close. 1 channel left, plus a one 1st level spell, and a scroll of CLW
Sven Bjornson
Sven nods in thanks and looks to Gilganis. "Keep an eye on her", he says with a gesture toward the bound fey woman.
"Let's meet this Hestrig", Sven adds as he tucks his own axe into its place at his hip and pulls Kalt's great two-handed blade off his back. He heads south for the mentioned double doors.
GM Mezegis
Floor to ceiling bookshelves line the walls of this sprawling chamber. An Ornate wooden table, covered with open texts and lit candles, and six chairs sit in the middle of the room. A massive mirror hangs on the western wall. You are greeted by fearsome looking warrior woman that clearly carries a northern heritage. "Bout time you got here, I could here you yapping in the other room." she says as she says a few words, growing in size and strength, and sending the table careening off the far wall with a mighty kick.
Ankih: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Avora: 1d20 ⇒ 16
Bugsby: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Sven: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
Hestrig: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Bugsby is up! Reusing Nadya image, it's not really her :D
Bugsby Featherfoot
Bugsby suddenly feels very small, as the warrior grows in size. He thinks quickly, moves behind Sven to see into the room better and then casts a greasy spell right at her feet, the ground beneath her suddenly slick and messy.
Cast grease under Hestrig, I assume the table by her on the map is the one which has been kicked away?
17/22 HP, AC 17. 4/5 1st level spells used.
GM Mezegis
Yes it is
Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
The ground beneath Hestrig grow slick, and although usually stable on ice, the massive woman falls on her rump. Grumbling over the predicament, she uses her increased reach to push herself off from the wall, sliding off the grease before standing upright.
PC's are up
Ankih Tohep
Ankih quickly moves into the corner to see into the room.
Gasping at the sheer size of the woman he fires off a bolt of flame.
" Dawnflower Starburst."
ranged touch attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
fire damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
And cringes as it hits the books behind her..
PAffttt. Sizzle.
Sven Bjornson
Sven grunts in approval of Bugsby’s well-timed spell. He narrows his gaze on the giant woman and sniffs the air, searching for the familiar stink of corruption.
Move action to detect evil. If she’s evil, smite.
He steps into the library, slipping under the woman’s enormous reach, and holds Kalt’s in a defensive position.
Total defense.
Avora Teremocles
Avora moves into the doorway and begins intoning the words to a spell.
Swapping communal endure elements for summon nature's ally II. Summoning a small fire elemental, but the spell takes one round to cast.
Sven Bjornson
Ah, well then I'll need to redo my turn entirely. Sven didn't have enough actions to detect evil, move, and attack.
Changed to total defense instead but no AoO damage taken.
Sven Bjornson
Yeah. Detect evil, smite, step forward, and then total defense.
I would have Sven stand in the doorway to further punish her for being large but our only good ranged damage left is Gilganis. Are you okay with us using his NPC resources fully?
Sven Bjornson
Sven stays in the hallway where the woman’s enlarging spell will only hinder her.
”Gilganis, change of plans. We could use some of those explosives up here. Hestrig used magic to increase her size and is trapped inside now.”
Updated the map accordingly. Sven's actions are otherwise the same. There's a nice little spot for Gilganis and everything!
Bugsby Featherfoot
After Gil...
Bugsby waits until his friends have made their attack attempts and throws the last of his more powerful spells, a greasy glob of glowing magic plopping into existence at the giant womans feat once more. "Shecan'tstayhugeforever!" he calls out to the others.
Ready Action - If Hestrig moves closer or starts to attack, cast grease. The nw corner of the 10' square is 2 squares south and 1 west of Bugsby's current position.
GM Mezegis
Gil Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 182d6 + 7 ⇒ (5, 1) + 7 = 13
Gilganis hears Sven's call and hustles down to the corner of the hallway, his tail again working on creating his alchemical explosive while he moves. A deep sigh of lamentation can be heard when he sees his target and the number of books surrounding it, but he does as asked, launching the concoction onto the magically sized woman and seriously burning her in the resulting explosion.
Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Acro to stand: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
Attack: 1d20 + 10 - 1 - 4 ⇒ (19) + 10 - 1 - 4 = 243d6 + 10 ⇒ (6, 1, 3) + 10 = 20
Confirm?: 1d20 + 10 - 1 - 4 ⇒ (7) + 10 - 1 - 4 = 123d6 + 10 ⇒ (3, 1, 3) + 10 = 17
Hestrig twitches, and Bugsby lets loose with his spell, again causing her to fall on her rump with a groan. With no where else to slide to, she cautiously stands and then swings with all her might at the cautious Sven. Sven does his best to deflect the strike, but the combination of weilding a two handed sword and his buckler doesn't aide in his defense and the blade crashes into his shoulder, dispite his best efforts at defense.
PC's are up! Sven takes 20
Bugsby Featherfoot
Bugsby winces at the blow Sven took, "SMOKINLaundry! Lookout! Svenclosethedoors! Makehercometouse!" That said, the gnome readies his Daze spell, again timing it to unleash as soon as Hestrig attacks or moves aggressively towards them.
Avora Teremocles
Avora finishes her spell, bringing a small fire elemental into existence before the giant woman. Almost as soon as it appears, the elemental strikes at the enlarged foe.
Elemental vs. Hestrig: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4+ burn (DC 11)
The save against the burn is a Reflex save. If it fails, she catches fire and takes 1d4 fire damage per turn. She can get a new save if she takes a full-round action to do so. The save is at +4 if she rolls about on the ground.
Sven Bjornson
Edit: That should miss. Sven's AC is 19 + 2 (smite) + 4 (total defense). The buckler's AC works until Sven makes an attack even if he is wielding a two-handed weapon.
Sven Bjornson
Heh. I had to edit my post. Moving the grease actually made me realize I was the one miscounting the squares. Regardless, that should miss.
Sven Bjornson
Benefit: You can also use your shield arm to wield a weapon (whether you are using an off-hand weapon or using your off hand to help wield a two-handed weapon), but you take a –1 penalty on attack rolls while doing so. This penalty stacks with those that may apply for fighting with your off hand and for fighting with two weapons. In any case, if you use a weapon in your off hand, you lose the buckler's Armor Class bonus until your next turn.
Sven hasn't actually used that hand for his weapon yet.
