Lilly smiles as she sees her companion start to smile as he moves through the darkness. As Varos flies off Lilly will turn to her companion and speak in the usual tongue she addresses him in. The companion nods and moves off after Varos, moving stealthfully.

"Go up ahead and see whats going on"

You see the same grizzly scene as Varos. Gnolls, Orcs and Goblinkind on pikes, one Gnoll barley alive asking to be released and given some healing.

The companion will try to sense motive on the Gnoll that wants to be released.

Does the companion see that Varos is still having a conversation with the one Gnoll? If so he will then just stealth back to the party and will let everyone know whats happening.

DM:

Breaking out of the Wind Walk concentrating for the needed time and soon helping the Gnoll out of the pike and treating its wounds.

After treating its wounds Varos will wait for others to arrive

Gallus moves forward at the others' beckoning. Seeing the gnoll, he raise an eyebrow in question. Any particular reason why we halted for this person? We have a task to accomplish and we can't waste any more time than we must.

Your companion sees the conversation yes, I mentioned previously you see the same thing Varos sees.

Varos:
You clumsily remove the pike and fail at doing anything benefical to the gnoll whom is just crying out in pain

You all hear a fient sound of something crying in pain.

Hearing the crying lilly rushes forward and find finds her companion. She see's the gnoll standing there crying and asks her companion what happened. They have a short conversation before Lilly steps forward and approaches the gnoll. "Here let me help" she says in common as she strikes out with her hand at the scared hurt gnoll.

Deaths Kiss Touch attack:1d20 + 22 ⇒ (3) + 22 = 25 VS Touch AC

If death's kiss hits then she will immediately channel negative energy to heal the gnoll.

Channel Negative Energy:10d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 2, 5, 5, 4, 5, 4, 1, 6) = 40


Spitting up blood the Gnoll sits up Thank you kind lady, the Daughters sent the Giants against us because we swore alliegence to Nex.Please help heal survivors and burn the dead before the Daughters of Urgathoa arrive, they will enslave us.

Allumbris follows after Lilly at the sounds, taking in the sight with well practised calm; though a slight tightening of his eyes does reveal a certain concern over the gnoll's plight.

"Common decency, for one thing," the knight replies to Gallus' comment, "but if simple compassion is insufficient to move you, then there remains the promise of whatever information the poor fellow might have regarding our enemies."

"Compassion will get more people killed if we tarry to long." The fused Havandrier grins. "But you may be right about the information." Havndrier follows behind, his attention devoted to possible ambush.

But I agree to Gnoll. Even though Daughters are our primary target we can´t really forget all other people. All these allies of Nex used as undead against Nex and the citizens is just too cruel. And to note, even if we were to attack only Daughters there is no stopping them from commanding their hordes to help us but... I would say we can be fast and get all survivors up and going? At least we will provide some more men to our ranks

She looks at the Gnoll and frowns slightly. Unfortunatly I don't have the ability to heal everyone here. I have very limited healing abilities. You said that the Daughters sent Giants upon you, how long ago was the attack? Do you suspect the Daughters are close?"

The Giants followed a Large Calikang who lead them north east from here, I have been on the pike for a least a few hours, but I passed out a couple of times. Our scouts reported the Daughters were marching at a steady pace and should reach us by nightfall. Then the shadow came, and I do not know what time of day it is.

We don't have much time before the Daughters are within striking distance. We should look to finding a place where we may ambush them.

Survival check to determine how much time till nightfall based on the last time I saw the sun before flying into the shadow.

You have a pretty good Idea that it is about 4pm, putting the Daughters of Ugaotha about 3 hours from here.

"It should not serve to alert them if we choose a location for our attack further towards them, before they would gain sight of this place... do any of you know of a likely spot?"

"It would also behove us to hunt down these giants, once the Sisters are dispatched; we must show that those who choose to align themselves with our enemies will be punished."

Agreed about the giants. As to where to hide, I don't know of a specific place but we should be able to find something that will suit us. I'd guess we have about 3 hours till they arrive.

DM, do you want a roll or anything to find/determine a location or can we just tell you the type of terrain we want to set up in?


There is a ridge just a few hundred feet south that overlooks a valley that winds around to this spot.Other than that we have our strong hold to the east, but it is likly ransacked by now. The Gnoll says regaining his strength. If you want a differant location can try Knowledge Geography/Local. Possibly nature/survival/dungeoneering depending on what you are lookign for.

Varos thinks for a while and asks more specific questions about the surroundings which could be used as natural ambushes and hiding their presence for the last moment

Between you and the Gnoll you come up with some immediate areas that might serve as decent hiding spots. The Gnoll still begs that you save his people and burn the dead.

Havandrier will dismiss his fused form. "I shall summon a Ghaele to assist your people while we prepare." Invoking the incantations, he calls forth the Azata to the world. "Ghaele, while I can command you to do my bidding, I shall instead implore you to aid these creatures, lest they become creatures of undeath in servants to another."

EDIT: Summoning is by Summon Monster IX SLA, lasts 20 minutes.

You have trouble summoning the Azata here, but are able to do it. Once here the Ghaele shows their discomfort being in this Shadow, but does as you command. You recall that the Daughters and their undead are exceedingly capable of various detections and that if you were to attempt an ambush you may need some magical assistance to block that detection.

This bit of info was dependant on both skills really so Havandrier will have to share it with you.

"For the discomfort, I shall offer an apology. If your assistance was not needed, I would not have asked though." Havandrier turns to the others.

"It can be difficult to think beyond bloodlust while so bound, but it reminded me of something. The Daughters are quite capable in their divinations. If we are to be successful, we must be sure to block such magics. I'm afraid I won't be of much use in that regards."

I am able to do something about that. I will just need time to prepare necessary items for the spells Varos assure other nex members as he helps gnolls out of the pikes.

Going through his possession soon after helping out some gnolls out of pikes and taking care of them Varos turns to others. I have spell just for these kind of situations. Just like before with Wind Walk spell all of you gather around me and touch my shoulder. I will cast Mindblank on all of us which will null all information gathering against us. This will last for couple of hours and will wear off just when we will strike against the Daughters and undeads.

Directing his words to gnolls and their leader supposing the first one we saved You are now in charge of your survivors. Take them with you and advance after the giants but do not engage them. We will come later behind to help you so information gathering is essential for now turning to others before casting the spell Anyone of you gentlemen have something to add I might have missed?

Lilly reaches out and touches Varos. After his spell is on the party she will add "If we're truly worried about there casting potential I have a spell that will help. It provides immunity to certain spells so if there are spells we're specifically worried about let me know and I'll make us immune."

Spell-immunity, communal is the spell she has. So if there are any 4th level spells or lower that people are worried about then let me know and she can protect the party from them.

Gallus stepped back after the spell was cast, trusting in his companion's ability to shield them.

The human of nex says we are to track the giants, but just watch them. They will kill them with us! Follow me!

Anything else you want to do befor you engage the daughters? So far my understanding is you are going to cast mindblank on the party and set up an ambush in this area.

The being that Havandrier summoned took care of the wounded and the dead. There is nothing dead left of the Gnoll/Goblin types.

Before the battle Lilly will bring a few more friends to the party. "I'm going to be creating some friends to help, please don't be alarmed when they show up and please don't attack or destroy them." she warns the party before stepping a little ways off from them.

A few minutes after she walks off you here her shout "CRAP! Guys a little help! Uncontrolled Mohrg on the loose!"

DM:

She casts:Create Undead and Create Greater undead to summon a Mohrg and a devourer respectively.

She will then take some of the figures off her robe of bones and summon a plague ogre zombie, a tough human zombie, and a fast goblin zombie.

She will then channel negative energy to control them.

Control undead will saves(DC 20):

Mohrg will save:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
Devourer will save:1d20 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17
plague ogre zombie will save:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
tough human zombie will save:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
fast goblin zombie will save:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

Since the stupid description of the robe didn't link the zobies to their stat blocks I'm not quite sure what there saves would be so I am going to assume regular zombie saves until told otherwise. If you want I can reroll once we can find stat blocks for those creatures.

So what happens when I can't control the undead I summon? Do I have to engage them in battle?

You creat the creatures with incredible ease. They are all 1 hit dice larger than they should be. You feel another pressence fighting you for controll of the undead. You channle negative energy, and it produces a result you had not anticpated. It is twice the radius it should be and very potent, affecting your allies.

Everyone give me a will save DC 30. Lilly roll damage for your Channle negative energy then multiply it by 1.5. Successful saves take half, failed take full. Then everyone roll initative to have fun with the Mohrg.

She then looks at the undead she has just called forth and tells them to stay back. She looks at her companion and nods her approval for his involvement in the battle. He gets a wide smile on his face and draws a dagger and a starknife "Yes mistress" he says.

DM for right now the rest of my summoned creatures are just going to sit tight and not participate. Figure with the party+my companion we can make quick work of this thing.

Looks like everyone made there saves so take 16 damage from the negative energy as it washes over the party...oops

Sorry guys...not only do I summon undead creatures, but I also channel negative engergy on you and loose control of one of my monsters...thankfully its only a CR7 so it will be an easy battle for us...unless the DM powered it up lol.

Just made an alias for my companion...figured it would be easier.

The companion will move to the other side of Lilly setting up a flank with her and then will attack with his Sparkwave Starknife.

Attack:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
Damage:1d4 + 1d8 + 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (1) + (2) + (2) + 5 = 10

+1 from bonus strength for being in the black void. +1d8 from sneak attack(knife master archetype) + 1d6 shocking from the starknife.

Oh come on...all those dice and I roll a 1 and 2 2's...that sucks
