It seems the devils had merely taken the opportunity to torment some mortals. As you proceed outside only Marten and Ferocia notice a shadow through a window letting them gather their wits before another devil strikes. A pair of frozen, multifaceted eyes coldly judge all before this towering, insectile monstrosity through the window as it lands and prepares to attack.

Spellcraft DC23:

t is said that each ice devil—known as gelugons among the ranks of devilkind—bears within its chest a stolen, frozen mortal heart, which allows it to make decisions free of all emotion. Born on the icy layer of Cocytus, Hell’s seventh layer, most ice devils migrate to Caina, the eighth layer, where they plot world-damning machinations from courts of freezing steel. Although they are perhaps the most alien and monstrous in appearance of all devils, few breeds are accorded greater respect.

In combat, a gelugon prefers to let its minions engage foes in melee so that it can hang back and appraise the foe’s tactics, strengths, and weaknesses. The ice devil supports its minions with its spell-like abilities, always taking care to avoid impacting its minions in the area of effect of its spells—this not from any sense of camaraderie, only a cold and logical truth that its allies can survive longer in a fight if they are not exposed to friendly fire.

Only blessed weapons can overcome their resilience.

The devils calculating compound eyes asses you before drawing upon the freezing cold of Hell's seventh layer. Snow and sleet rain down hard on all of our heroes.
3d6 Cold. 2d6 Bludgeoning: 3d6 + 2d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 4) + (1, 6) = 19
This damage only occurs once, when the spell is cast. For the remaining duration of the spell, heavy snow and sleet rains down in the area. Creatures inside this area take a -4 penalty on Perception skill checks and the entire area is treated as difficult terrain.

Dang, if I'd thought ahead, I could have made the case to counterspell his ice storm with Marten's volcanic storm.

As far as the Hold Person spell, I don't think he has resolved round one yet, since the rest of us hadn't posted actions (only three people made the surprise round). He just resolved those surprise round actions only, I think, so you are a round ahead.

Azalia doesn't have anything holy to fight with, so she tries her trusty magical bow, hoping that is enough magic that some damage will get through.

Ah, that makes sense. I've been come and go between U.S. holiday events this weekend, so I guess I haven't been paying close enough attention. If it's possible to switch the order around, Marten would have tried to dispel the sleet storm before the Hold Person scroll.

Drazh bumps off the wall as he attempts to move left, disoriented by all this snow before he starts to move right. Since Marten had somehow gotten rid of all the ice Drazh was even able to swing his hammer at the devil.

Three very pointy projectiles flew towards the demon. It wasn’t the most effective attack in the world, but it would have to do.

Anneka stifles a cry as the ice storm strikes her with particular force, both directly and indirectly through her magical Drazh and Ferocia. She channels a pulse of positive energy through herself, returning the feeling to her ice-numbed appendages.

Creydon winces as he is slammed by yet more cold. He moves to Drazh and taps him on the back. "Throw Drazh, and break its damn legs!"

The devil flies a little away from the building before unleashing another torrent of ice and freezing cold. Though badly injured the devil seems confident with a few adjustments it's current tactic will prevail and it can wear down your magical defences.

Then she narrows her eyes up at the devil and takes a few steps back, making it look as if she's going to attempt to run and jump at the devil...

I can transform into an owl next turn and attack with shifter's rush, but she needs to get out of bear form first and take a running start. Can't be an owl until next turn.

Exactly that for the prior turn. I find moving tokens on this phone a hellish prospect, as it rarely works for me. So despite having me having wanted the character moving twice, I haven't been able to reflect that. Now on a PC so I've moved Creydon.

In case people missed it, Creydon cast haste in the previous turn! To be clear, I believe that's all of ye since it's 11 targets within 80ft.

Then she starts casting the spell, delaying releasing it until Drazh steps into reach. (If he does.)

Only had enough movement to get close, but not all the way. Sounded like Drazh wanted to fly, but if he ends up refusing, she'll cast it on herself so she might be able to survive the pounding she is about to get by moving into the path of the icy death.

Creydon, we all have protection from energy (cold). You shouldn't be taking damage from the cold, yet.

But that reminds me that I didn't do the Reflex save from the devil's last two blasts.
