The party gathers with Cooper (after handling Flash of course) who invites you up to farmhouse to meet his lovely wife Deanne and his young ones, Carlson and Frederick (barely more than tots themselves) who are quite shy in such company, much to Cooper’s entertainment, as they comically huddle behind their parent’s legs upon being introduced . He informs his spouse of the grim business that you’ll be tending to of looking for the lost Jeleneth in the forest with an early start, as she readily sets extra places for the whole group. The ranger asks Dreadan to help him carry a barrel of his home-brewed ale in from one of the smaller outbuildings, which houses a modest distillery, to provide drink for all of his guests. He imbibes little himself, wanting himself alert with the sun breaks the horizon in several hours time. Deeanne serves a lovely meal and excuses herself after dining and chatting to set up extra cots for any who are interested in bunking inside for the evening.
Before sunrise the following morning , Cooper is up and saddling Feyleaf, and lightly packing for a potential day or two in the woodlands. He has a few spare mounts and offers to share them with any capable riders, though mentions that while tracking he will be moving slow enough that those uncomfortable with riding shouldn’t have any troubles keeping up. He pulls on some light armor as well, noting that there are goblins, gnolls, and even lizardmen that sometimes find their way into the surrounding area, however rare, and straps on a sword belt with a gleaming longsword and not one, but to, alchemical silver short swords.
Telsyn thanks him for the fine hospitality, and, since we won't be going very fast, offers to lead Flash along.
If we do find a sign of my old classmate, we may not be able to come back for the old gal. C'mon, Flash, lets see what's what!
Iriesys entertains the children through the use of prestidigitation, creating small, crude figures, changing the taste of bread, coloring hats, shoes and the like, and other such acts of tomfoolery.
In the morning, Iriesys nods, ready to get going and (hopefully) find Jelenith.
Completely relaxed in the company of the friendly ranger and his family, Bogorin ibibes more than he had been allowing himself of late and so ends up in a fine drunk, roaring his laughter right along with that of the children to Iriesys' simple tricks and jokes. He challenges Dreadan and Nodin to arm wrestling matches and, if accepted, gives a better account of himself than mightbe expected for one his age. But he loses good naturedly, clapping the victors on the shoulders.
At one point he suddenly stands and yells "That's right! I remember! I must go now and..." and then instantly topples to a hard landing on the floor, completely passed out and very quickly snoring fit to wake the dead. He is impossible to wake up.
The next morning he finally wakes, obviously incredibly hung over. Refusing to speak to anyone at first, he stumbles of to do his morning toilet. While there he can be heard mumbling something to himself. by the time he comes back he seems to have recovered and improved dramatically. Eyes bright and clear, he straps on his gear and says "Right! Let's get on wit it then, wasted enuff time already we did." and follows the lead of the ranger taking them to the place they are to continue looking for the lost enchanter.
Dreadan spends the night playing with the children then telling Cooper of his adventures so far. The half orc actualy smiles at times around the children and even laughs. Later during the night, he even has a drink and a smoke with the ranger before heading off to bed in the barn.
The next morning Dreadan hugs the children promising to bring them gifts from the far away lands he is bound to travel, and heads out infront besides Cooper as they begin the search for tracks.
