As it looks like the decisions about both Argentea and Penny have been made, Kishai moves into action. "While you get Penny tied up, I'm going to scout a bit." She starts creeping up the stairs carefully, watching for creaking boards. At the top of the stairs she will scan the room carefully. If there is a door, she will instead listen carefully before attempting to open it.

Kishai makes her way up the stairs quietly and finds a door. You don't hear anything beyond the door and it appears to be locked.

Kishai heads back downstairs to brief the group. "Locked door upstairs. Can't hear anything behind it. I'll try and unlock it if we're ready to go up." I assume by now you've tied Penny up?

Unless the group tells her to pause, she tries to unlock the door.
If successful she will not open it until the group is upstairs and ready.

Oops. I thought we'd decided to do upstairs first then search the place. I'm happy to sit by this now (probably, with a 25) unlocked door and wait until you guys are ready. I'd retcon it and come back down but I don't want to waste a nat 20 :D

With the basement and ground floor secure, Gavinia climbs the stairs as stealthily as she can.

He tightens his grip on his flail and gets ready to cast a spell at a moments notice.

Petal rustles around quietly in anticipation and creeps over to sit on top of his backpack.

GM POST:
Mordred opens the door he's next to. It appears that none of the bandits have claimed this room for their own. It remains dark and silent. The wardrobe contains linens, a washboard, and nothing else of interest.

Kishai disables the lock and when read she opens it.

An L-shaped table with many chairs takes up most of the floor space in this loft. A second smaller table sits near the entrance, and several windows look over the snowy grounds of the lodge. In the southwest corner, a large map hangs on the wall, opposite another door in the northeast wall.

The pile of bones suddenly stirs, rising up to take on a human shape and bursts into white-blue flame. Its long, bony fingers reach out to claw at the living, burning with an unending ice.

Enhanced by her mutagen, Kishai takes a step through the doorway, lunging past the skeleton to her right to clear the doorway and slices at it with her claws.
Yay for good initiative roll. No chance of AoO AND sneak attack damage cuz flatfooted!

I am aware some of you have resistances. But I am still going to do all my rolls as the situations still occur.

Kishai moves in then attacks with a natural attack. She hits but when she does, ice leaps out and stings her with bitter cold and she takes 1d6 ⇒ 3 cold damage no save. The damage was enough to kill it but when it falls to the ground it explodes in a burst of cold dealing an additional 1d6 ⇒ 4 cold damage; Reflex DC 11 to half.

Feeling the cold effects as a passing chill, Kishai shakes them off.
"Watch out, they have some kind of cold magic. I'm good with cold if you want to leave this other one to me"

Somehow in years of gaming I've never had a PC with natural energy resistances so I'm just putting this here in case it needs to be corrected.
Kishai has cold resistance 5, so:
1st ice aura for 3 dam is resisted
burst on death for 4 dam is resisted (not gonna bother rolling for half)
additional cold w/ claw for 4 damage is resisted
claw - 5 damage DOES affect me

So I should be just taking the 5 damage from the claw attack. If I'm wrong on that one please let me know.

Did I have to make a reflex vs explody skeleton?

Petal, being stung by the cold, retreats into the safety of Garrasay's backpack.

"Grrr, what vileness is this! rRrrR" Garrasay growled out as he swung his mighty flail at the white skeleton.

flail: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10


Yes Kishai you resisted all the cold damage and only took 5 dmg from the melee claw. Oh um no Garrasay that was from a different skeleton and there's a wall. This aura is from the one in the door.

Garrasay hits the last skeleton and it falls dead but also explodes in a burst of ice hitting Kishai & Garrasay 1d6 ⇒ 5 cold damage; Reflex DC 11 to half.

After drinking it, she calls down the stairs "Rokhar isn't up here! There's no obvious threat left. I'll search up here, some of you check downstairs. He either snuck past us or is hiding somehow. Maybe Penny knows something." She then begins scanning the upstairs room carefully.

Now that we're out of combat I can't accurately track the duration of my mutagen. Please tell me when 10 min are up, or how much time is left if we start combat again

"Do either of you require healing?" she asks Kishai and Garrasay.

Quickly scanning the room, she walks to the unopened door, mimes opening it and then stabbing with her dagger.

"If he is not here, he may have escaped out the window. Do any appear to have been opened recently?"

With the last foe down, Petal cautiously crept out of the backpack and started to brush the frost from Garrasay's fur.

"gRrRrrrr. I am a little hurt, but not seriously so."
He peers about the empty room "Could there be a secret passage that would have let him slip out another way? RrrRrr"


Gavinia tries to open the door but it seems to be locked.

Ten-Penny Tacey asks, "What's going on?" She has her eyes looking up to the area of the second floor.

With a sudden movement, Gavinia tugs on the handle and completely fails to open the door.

"Ah. It also appears to be locked." she remarks with a tinge of embarrassment. "Could you also attempt to open this one?" she asks Kishai.

Moving back out to the top of the steps, she calls down "What is behind the second door up here? Is it Rhokar's quarters?"

Looking back, it seems like we had a 1 round combat, a 1 round lockpicking, and a room search since I drank the 10 minute mutagen. I'll guess the room search took between a minute or two so I'm gonna head into this combat assuming 8 minutes remaining on the mutagen.

"Well, we know where Rhomar has been." Gavinia notes impassively as she descends the stairs to confront the new foes. "And it sounds like more trouble coming that way." she adds, glancing over to the clattering noise.

I was at top of stairs to talk to Penny, so should be able to reach zombies with a double move. Do the zombies look like the dead bandits?

Seeing the zombies, Garrasay growls out "RrrRRrr! We need to put an end to this vile necromancer! GrrrRrRrgg"

He takes a step forward and casts a warding spell around himself. A blue disc of arcane energy shimmers momentarily before fading away. Although it could not be seen, a shield of force now protected him.

Suddenly, the loud noise at the door caught his attention "ArrRrR. If you are a bandit, this is your chance to flee! If you are not a bandit, this place is overrun with undead, this would still be a good time to flee! RrRrggrgR!"

Appalled that they seem to have let Rokhar past them, Kishai runs over to the zombie in front of Gavinia and swipes at it with her claws.
