Tolvan
Tolvan casts Undeath Ward as planned and advances to include Anna in the spell's protection. He uses a dimensional hop to move the distance.
School abjuration; Level cleric 5, inquisitor 4, sorcerer/wizard 6, witch 6
CASTING
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S, M/DF (powdered silver)
EFFECT
Range 10 ft.
Area 10-ft.-radius emanation, centered on you
Duration 1 minute/level (D)
Saving Throw none or Will negates (see text); Spell Resistance yes
DESCRIPTION
You create a pale silver barrier that repels undead.
Mindless undead and intelligent undead with fewer Hit Dice than your caster level cannot enter the area or penetrate the barrier. Undead of Hit Dice equal to or greater than your caster level can pass through this barrier by making a successful Will save against the spell, but as they do so, they take 3d6 points of damage. Once an undead creature makes its save against this spell and takes this damage, it can come and go without further penalty. This spell may only be used defensively, not aggressively. Forcing an undeath ward against creatures that the spell keeps at bay collapses the barrier.

Tolvan was in the hall and could see into the room and hear as well. So there is a chance he can identify the spell cast on Anna.
Knowledge (Arcana): 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (4) + 20 = 24
Anna Dunsany
Wait, wait. Time out. Anna would NOT have opened the door while Andjela and Sonny were still 30 or 40 feet up the hallway.
She can be reckless at times but she's not suicidal. Can they not have been way in the back so they can get an action this round?
Tolvan
I wondered about that. Tolvan was only able to get into position and cast because of his Teleport subschool. Also, I sent a PM to Rannik about the spell Anna was hit by. My read is that Anna gets an initial will save to avoid. Waiting to see if our GM agrees. It was differently worded but a careful parse has me believing it was not intended to auto work the first round.
Anna Dunsany
Tolvan
Yes. Undead below 11 hd cannot enter the sphere. Will save 22 to enter for those 11 hit dice or more and if they make the save they still take 3d6 damage
Danica Quinn
"Let me through." Danica bypasses everyone until she can get to Anna.
Danica cast Bane (undead) on her Temple Sword. Swift action
Danica calls on the power of the Bright Lady and makes the power of the sun shoot from her hand hitting Anna's foe.
Casting Searing Light.: 9d8 ⇒ (4, 6, 8, 8, 7, 4, 3, 4, 6) = 50
Searing Light
Range medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)
Effect ray
Duration instantaneous
Saving Throw none; Spell Resistance yes
An undead creature takes 1d6 points of damage per caster level (maximum 10d6), and an undead creature particularly vulnerable to bright light takes 1d8 points of damage per caster level (maximum 10d8).

Danica, I believe this is a Ray and as such you need to both pick a target and roll to hit vs a touch attack. Maybe pick a target that has not acted yet and is wounded?
Anna Dunsany
Will: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
"Oh, gods! It's the vilkacis!" Anna shrieks in abject terror. In a blur her mithral dagger is in her hand and she slashes desperately at the spectral undead hallucination, hoping desperately to keep it at bay before it possesses her again and turns her into a ravening beast.
Anna Dunsany
Ooh, I just had a thought. Does any of the vampires look familiar?
Tolvan
You got an initial saving through and then another at the end of your round. So save again. :)
Anna Dunsany
Oh, yeah. Thanks for the reminder (that I needed just after you compliment me for my memory! Thanks, though!)
Will save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Anna suddenly recognizes the apparition as something out of her nightmares. She glares daggers at the vampire spellcaster. "Oh, I will KILL you for that!"
Rannik
Lot's of thing to anwser here. So here we go.
@Danica, need an attack roll for that spell. Ranged touch.
@Anna, nope, doesn't look like her.
@Tolvan, good memory or bookmarked? ;)
The group makes quite the entrance, assaulting with blades and spells. The vampire with the shield cast a spell and vanish from sight. Both the vampire on the raised section manage to dodge partially out of Sonny's spell. The one in the back of the raised area also cast a spell aimed at Tolvan. Ice start forming around the elf, trying to encase him in it.

Isn't Red the one who cast invisibility? Can you add an indicator that he is invisible, or even remove him from the map?
As a spell is targeted at Tolvan but before it strikes his contingency spell is triggered and 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 mirror images appear to flock about his person. I believe the caster must roll a d7 to try to target Tolvan.

@After reading the spell more closely, mirror image doesn't hepl it this case, since there is no attack roll on the spell.
Whenever you are attacked or are the target of a spell that requires an attack roll, there is a possibility that the attack targets one of your images instead.
Danica and Andjela attack the well dressed vampire, given him some freash wounds. Quinley rushes into the room and join Andjela in the fight. The vampire dressed in green cast a spell and a whirlwind of burning hot air appears and start pushing people around.
Everyone in the area take 4d6 + 11 ⇒ (5, 4, 1, 3) + 11 = 24 damage. Fort save DC 21 to take half damage and not being knocked down. Those that take damage also become fatigued.
The rich looking wampire takes a step back and summon a layer of grease that coats the floor under Quinley. The Damphir almost slips for a second but manages to stay up.

Sonny Wright
Sonny sees the spells going off and Anna fall. He then calls out to his goddess for a blessing for his friends.
Casting Blessing of Fervor. Choose 1 each round.
Increase your speed by 30 feet.
Stand up as a swift action without provoking an attack of pportunity.
Make one extra attack as part of a full attack action, using its highest base attack bonus.
Gain a +2 bonus on attack rolls and a +2 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves.
Cast a single spell of 2nd level or lower as if it were an enlarged, extended, silent, or still spell.
Should effect Danica, Anna and Andjela if the map is correct. No two can be more than 30' apart.
Tolvan
So, you threw me by saying "Aimed at Tolvan" earlier. No issue there though. I do not think the contingency even triggers as it should not be obvious Tolvan was attacked. Agree? The refelx save seems to infer dodging too which is strange.
Tolvan tries to dodge the spell but fails miserably. A block of ice nearly a foot thick forms around him. Reflex: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
I am stuck in the ice for the fight and will die of cold damage in a minute or so less someone breaks me out. Spell says I am helpless. But I wonder if I can shift out since it is a mental teleport thing with no componnents?
Rannik
@Tolvan. Wizards, always making me read and reread the rules with their universe breaking spells and abilities. ;) Icy prison says that you can do a strength check to break out. So you are still conscious of your surrounding compare to someone unconscious. So, I would say that you can use dimensional steps abitily but not the shift. Also, while you were safe from the heat blast that affect the rest of the group, the ice did get thinner.
@Anna. Yes, you are now exhausted.
Tolvan
So Tolvan will take cold damage = the caster's level. His Dimensional Step ability is a Standard Action so when he steps out he will be out of actions.
Feeling the cold bite at him Tolvan using his dimensional Step ability to shift into the room trying to give Andjela some protection from the vampires. I do not know what you are all doing here. We came to attack the vampire traitors aligned with the Whispering Way. Are we not on the same side?
Anna Dunsany
Anna wheezes, suddenly thoroughly exhausted. Her muscles feeling like jelly, she doesn't feel up to wading into the thick of combat. She decides to be sneaky instead and activates her ring to go invisible. She scoops up her heavy crossbow as she rises to her unsteady feet.
Rannik
No actions Andjela?
Sonny buffs the group just as Tolvan escape the ice spell. Anna disapears from sight. The vampire in the blue dress turns to Tolvan. "So you are the fools that are disrupting our plans. I don't see what was so dangerous about you. How did you ever managed to make Radvir decide to pack up shop, I'll never know. They will reward me greatly when I bring your heads." She points a hand at the elf as she cast another spell. Two bolts of dark energy fly toward Tolvan, triggering his contingency spell. The two bolts hits only the images.
Quinley moves into melee and takes a stab at the vampire. The dhampir's blade plunges deep in the vampire's flesh. Leaving a burnt hole as it slide out. "Positive energy is a b!~#~, isn't it?"

And if we are to have a chance we better be focusing on taking one of these guys down at a time... A;lso, I am not sure how many smites you have a day but now might be a good time to be using them. Do not mean to tell you how to play your character - more just worried about this fight. lol
Andjela Daywalker
I thought that might be Quinly... LOL. But, yes I could flank. I just used a Smite on Red, but he vanished. Actually, he should have gotten another +8 damage as he's Undead (+18 total, had miscalculation). If DM permits, I could attack Quinley's instead and get another +2. Hitting AC 22. With Smite hits AC 25. I have 3 smites per day, this seems like a "boss" fight, good call.
