Elfire Lightfoot

Elfire shugs "wateva, lets just get cracking"
Elfire then places his hand on each of the party's shoulders "Pharasma, give us guidance"
Elfire casts guidance on the while party....+1 to the next skill check of your choice. I know it technically only lasts a minute but basically if a minute passes I recast just before the appropriate skill check

"I cant cut or carry logs but i can sure tie them together!" Gaylin begins looking for vines so the party doesnt have to unite Kalkamedes.

"I'm really not sure how this will work, since he'll just--Oh, never mind. If we spend all night doing this, then he'll wake up, and at least he'll be alive."
Sammi assists with the raft building.

After disembarking their makeshift raft, Elfire reattaches one of the reigns to his belt and ealks slightly ahead of Kalamedes to keep an eye out for any futher hazards.
"wonder how far he's gonna take us?"

Elfire quickly hands his end of the rope attached to Kalamedes to Sammi. "'ere...hold him in place for a minute. I have a plan..."
He then reaches into one of Ironwing's saddlebags, grabs another rope and his grappling arrow.
"Wot if we lower him down the ravine, then use this", holding out the grappling arrow and rope, "to climb to the other side and drag him up the cliff?"
Eoran Olyrnn
|
Is Kalkamedes by any chance an unchained rogue with a reversed danger sense?
Eoran pulls off his backpack and digs out a length of rope and another grappling hook, just in case Elfire needs more for his plan.
Elfire Lightfoot
|
"let me show you" Elfire says taking the second rope from Eoran.
Elfire then ties to two ropes together and his grappling arrow to the end of one. He then draws his longbow and shoots the grapplong arrow across the ravine to an appropriate target (sorry wasnt sure what was on the other side....either a rocky outcropping or tree).
Take 10 on Grappling arrow: 10 + 5 = 15
Once the hook is in place, elfire takes the other end of the now 100ish foot rope over to tbe restrained kalamedes.
"now we tie this to Kalamedes, lower him down and then we all climb down after him then up the other side. Then we drag his arse up the cliff.....any questions?"

"If We have the rope on both side why dont we just pull him across the rope I stead of going down and back up? One of us goes first then we tie him up and pull him across."
the shortest distance between two point is a straight line.

Elfire Lightfoot
|
"I suppose tha'll work aswell. So Eoran, Gaylin and I will go to the other side and Sammi, moonchaser and Iantha stay on this side?".
your correct about the shortest distance, but he still wont go in a straight line. He will drop into the ravine as soon as he leaves the edge and have u ever tries to keep a line taught with 100ish KG hanging in it.

I was thinking more of a pulpy type system and pull him across the rope that way. But use rope tied around him unsteady of a pulpy. If that makes any sense at all.

Sammi Lightfoot

"Well, getting down with be easier," Sammi says as he gets to work knotting his rope. He secures the grapple on a sturdy crevice and scurries down to the bottom of the canyon.
Re-reading, I might have misunderstood. How deep in the canyon? I can't imagine it's that deep if it's only 30 ft wide.

Gaylin works to help the party the best he can, lowering Kalkamedes down the revine.

"I remember my old teacher throwing puzzles like this at me, but they usually involved husbandry and food, or seranreans and cannibals, not pathfinders and a suicidal sleepwalker."
Eoran ponders their situation for a moment before suggesting. "Could we all climb down, fire a grappling hook up on the other side, climb up and pull our sleepwalker up behind us?
Elfire Lightfoot
|
that was my original idea. And right now the 100ft rope is attached at one end to kalamedes, and the other end is attached to a tree or rock outcropping on the far side. Since the ravine is 30ft wide there is enough to lower him down and us still have hold of the middleish part.
"so as planned, now we all climb down... then up the other side using the rope. Then we drag Kalamedes up"

Iantha
|
"One can only hope he will stay still down there long enough to prevent the climb down from being any more precarious than necessary."
Iantha says this to herself as much as to any of the others, peering over the ravine edge. She seems to kind of steel herself, nodding once before beginning the climb down.

After Iantha climbs down, Eoran starts on his way down. Bracing himself against the cliff wall, he slowly tries to climb.

Once he reaches the bottom, Elfire then immediately uses the rope that is attached to the far side to carfully climb back up.
Take 10 to climb: 10 + 1 = 11
Isn't climbing a wall while bracing against a wall a dc 5 or something?
Yes, under the climb skill in the CRB there is a table that says 'A rope with a wall to brace against, or a knotted rope' is a DC 5.

Ok with all this you manage to secure the rope and Kalkamedes will get the other side up, same as you. And he continues his journey.
After a short while you find a game trail.
Great bands o f stars sweep across the cloudless night sky, illuminating a series of game trails that chase through the mountain shrubs and berry bushes.
