Hey hey, think I'm good to go. Sveinki has lots of modifiers that could come into play on the class/levels line depending on the circumstance. Especially once he makes a Spellcraft check. I'll typically update those in a status update if that's ok.

Dariamus is much the same, his offensive and defensive values often change from round-to-round.

That said, his posted AC assumes he has Mage Armor up. Not usually an issue with an 8 hour duration & a pearl of power.

Was a bit busy and want to read through it again before starting.
It´s possible that due to job search i wont be able to post daily sometimes, but usualy i will.

As a GM, i´m trying my best to provide you with a good experience, good roleplaying and leave you some freedom. I´ll describe everything to my best and try to communicate all hints in text. Only when i feel you´re totally on the wrong way or not moving along, i´ll guide you more directly and maybe even usher you a bit forward.
(Except when you people have some good roleplaying fun, because that´s one of the advancements of PbP in my eyes and should totally be enjoyed^^)

Please provide any questions and remarks here in the discussion thread, instead of gameplay. Keeps immersion up a bit better.
Don´t hesitate to ask anything or say if something´s bothering you.
I´m open to reasonable critics and not the person to take things personaly.

Also please note that i´m europe based and my posting times might be different.

I recommend you reading the NEW faction descriptions and goals again and remembering them throughout the scenario. Might be important^^
Especially for Libery´s Edge and Silver Crusade.

I may be spotty in posting over the next few days. Since this is just getting going, I'll try to give it extra attention so we don't lose momentum, but I have a full day of business travel tomorrow and a heavy GMing schedule at a Con that runs Fri-Sat-Sun.

Have you ever tried the wayfinder app? It is a couple dollars but I have found it to be incredibly helpful for times like that.

A little word.

Whenever the story seems to drag a bit, or has some lengths that you wonder about, there is a reason to it normaly.
Often the scenarios offer or mention some ways for interaction.
I know some GM´s who like to push along the scenario to the next action, but those parts get lost then normaly.
For me, that´s a little sad, because i like a balance between rolplaying and roll playing. Also, quite often, those little things are important for faction mission or secondary success conditions, but sometimes they are just little episodes that make for a more lively scenario experience.
Either way, because in PbP communication works a bit different often, i slow down at those spots, try to give you some not too obvious hints and the chance to do something or at least think about it.
Of course with pregens it´s more difficult, but a little roleplaying now and then isn´t wrong for sure^^

Also there were several downtimes, partially eating up my posts.
Epecially frustrating since i have to redo parts of the map i prepared but didnt save somehow :(

I have always found Google Draw easier to work with than Ditzie.

At the very least, it saves changes as they are made.

Seems to be a bit dull at the moment, since that encounter (and others here) speak only ancient osiriani.
For ease of play, let´s assume Dariamus auto-translates everything, so everyone can understand it and say something in return.
That includes making rolls for bluff, diplomacy and sense motive.
I´ll leave the spoilers away from now on.

While languages are important, sometimes it gets in the way and i feel that is the case here.

If you feel lost in the scenario, don´t hesitate to ask off-comment here!

It´s a bit trickling, but this is also kind of a tricky passage i think.
Both for players and GM´s.

Essentially, this is a decision point. You either have to side with Badru or not.

I just can't figure out any clues on which side to take... it just seems like his word against the other creature's. Anyone have any ideas?

I'll admit I'm a bit lost, and I have read the spoilers. A bit of gm or player suggestion might be good.

Additionally I'm trying to rp olochs general ignorance in this.

I think we go meet the other party and then decide.

Alright, i´ll give you a hint.
There are situations, where things don´t matter that much or in the direction you think.
Review what you already know (what i communicated at least indirectly through NPC´s):
-there´s a sealed archive.
-the diamond sage opens it and sends you in.
-you gotta rescue old stuff (PFS mechanics apply, has likely something to do with skill checks etc^^)
-you meet two creatures that battle each other, both seem to be sealed in since a long time. One tells you the amethyst sage "created" both, both were his followers before.
-keleshite (qadirans) attacked the archive, what led the amethyst sage to transform his followers and seal himself up in the library.
-there´s some kind of device with which you can open the library.
-someone/something else seems to be there somewhere
-relics vanish.

Your main job is to to explore the area, inventory the contents, and report your findings to the diamond sage while saving as much delicate, irreplaceable cultural treasures and writings as possible.
Especially the written history of the order and a crystalline artifact
attuned to the sage jewels.

And sometimes talking with two sides in a conflict that heavily mistrust each other doesn´t lead to better negotiations.

In that case, we should just go with our current guide.

I think I'll be able to post most days. We're headed to Disney for part of the stretch, but my kids are older and I doubt we'll be dawn to dusk.

I'll be posting less frequently than usual next week, but I will do my best to post once per day anyway.

Sorry for absence over the weekend, was on a gameday gming and then had a little bit more action than anticipated on sunday. Today i´ll be going to my hometown and need to get my baggage and some presents.

I have unexpectedly very bad internet access here. On mobile as well as on any PC, didn´t bring my own laptop, bad mistake. GM posts are unlikely before i´m back at home unfortunately.

Would you like me to speed this up and guide you along the way considerably more firm in order to end in time for the PbP gameday or do you want to take your time? I would fast forward through some exploration then, but also need more active posting from you.
The exploration in this scenario is a bit different due to the fog. It´s also a bit experimental from my side, since it heavily involves the map, what might not be the best feature like that.

I'm honestly fine with however you want to run it, I can uaually post more than once per day if we speed things up, but I don't want to leave someone behind either.

I pretty much summarized the first floor. You already encountered the two major things, the rest is (potentially very atmospherical) dungeon exploring with some opportunities. I recommend you at least trying those opportunities. You have a mission, besides fighting down there^^

Well, I just had an atrocious run of rolling. Hopefully the rest of you will attempt the rolls. Even the pre-gens have some of the necessary skills.

Yes, using every skill possible and when possible aiding another is always the best strategy^^

Good point. A little harder to pull off in PbP sometimes, but you're totally right about that.

I´m flexible enough to make some exceptions for that in PbP.

Don´t forget you can also take 10 or 20 with some skills. You do have the time ingame right now!

Odds are, somebody is going to have to eat the trap. Jumping on a stairwell could be difficulty and I don't think anyone can disarm magical traps.

I'm probably the one to eat the trap, but could try to dispel it if we don't mind having me eat a 3rd level spell. Let's see if we can figure out what it is. Sveinki is set up to have ridiculous saves against spells, but there is a 1 on every die!
