Moreover, we're going to play this at the highest subtier (10-11), which is why I would like the run to go as smoothly as possible. This means that I'd like as little retcons as possible, and a fluid gameplay. In order to achieve that, please let me know if your character has any special mechanics he's likely to use, so that I can familiarize with them before we start.

Additionally, I insist on players announcing their possible absence beforehand if possible, so that we can keep the pace of the game. If you'd like to specify a type of behavior/action to use when you're away from the board, I'd greatly appreciate you doing that so that we can bot you as decently as humanly possible.

Looking forward to this great game!

As for special mechanics, I use the mesmerist stare a lot. I am a Fae sorcerer so I am heavily invested in Enchantment magic. Also I just bought the Staff of Edasseril's Scorn off the chronicle for #7-04, so it might be useful to familiarize yourself with that!

Grand Lodge

Welcome Imbroglio, and thanks for the heads-up. I've been considering buying that staff for my very own sorcerer, so I do know it. Looking forward to this game!

Hey! As a note, this will be a GM * Replay for me. Right now I've got a scan of my paper sheet linked in my profile but at some point I may slowly convert that to an actual test character sheet. This character is currently being used in a game that will certainly wrap up by the time this starts. I'll probably make a better sheet for him as soon as those updates get applied.

This character is still level 9, he will be level 10 after the 13th of this month. Will make the dayjob roll then and I will have an updated character sheet on my bio by game start.

He is a swashbuckler, so a lot of fancy stuff. but my main shtick is parry and riposte.

if he is attacked by a medium or smaller, he will parry. On the first parry, he will as an immediate action, riposte. He will continue to parry, up to five times due to combat reflexes. Making sure to have at least one panache point remaining. I usually spoiler these rolls. I do up to five at a time, less if my panache/grit is low..

But I will make sure to keep you updated on my tactics.

Side note, I am running this tier for this special in Core mode, and I have GMd this before. I will try not and spoil anything

Grand Lodge

Thanks for specifying when you'll parry/riposte, this is exactly what I was talking about. Much appreciated!

Feel free to head to the gameplay thread to introduce your character, and dot the thread in the process.

Sorry for delaying my post so long. I feel silly saying this, but this will be a GM Star Replay for me as well.

If you are fine with it, I would also like to retrain some of my character before the game begins. Retraining my familiar into an arcane bond ring and the Tenacious Transmutation feat into Lunge.

My character is an arcane caster with full plate and uses an armiger's panoply to magically switch from heavy armor to minimal armor he can cast in without chance of failure and back again a few times per day.

There are a few spells I can cast while armored that do not have somatic components. I'll make a note in my prepared spells when I set them up on which ones I can cast while fully armored.

Out of turn I will be able to cast liberating command if anyone else is grappled or feather fall if anyone in the group starts falling.

One of my armor sets does have spell storing on it, when I take my turn I'll note if I'll plan be using that turn. If I don't mention it, then I won't be activating it that turn.

Grand Lodge

Welcome Sielan! No worries about that, we still have time before we start.

No problem with retraining, as long as you list it here for me to include it on your chronicle sheet at the end of the scenario. If you're a Hellknight then you'll blend in perfectly with Svetlana (who has yet to report).

I just finished up my scenario and have some level up choices to make. I'm now level 11! I make heavy use of Saving Finale, Liberating Command, Timely Inspiration, and Gallant Inspiration, so I'll periodically put out of turn tactics up as well as a list of buffs I'm providing to the party.

I have the ability to implant one of the following tricks in myself or a comrade. Would anyone particularly enjoy one?

Astounding Avoidance: The subject can avoid damage from magical and unusual attacks. The mesmerist can trigger this trick when the subject attempts a saving throw against an attack or spell that normally deals half damage on a successful save, before the subject rolls the save. If the subject succeeds at her save, she takes no damage. If the mesmerist is 12th level or higher, the subject takes only half damage if she fails her save. The benefits of this trick don’t stack with those of the evasion or stalwart class features.

Slip Bonds: While implanted with this trick, the subject gains a +2 circumstance bonus on Escape Artist checks. If the subject becomes grappled, pinned, shackled, or otherwise personally restrained, the mesmerist can trigger the trick and cause the subject to become incorporeal just long enough to slip her bonds (unless they can otherwise restrain an incorporeal creature). This effect doesn’t last long enough for the subject to move through walls or other barriers. If the mesmerist is 12th level, the subject remains incorporeal until the beginning of the mesmerist’s next turn.

Perfect, although I'm more on the freedom fighting side of things. Still have all the pleasure in world fight alongside another Hellknight and share in what we have common. Heavy armor and battling demons.

Imbroglio, I don't think I would be able to utilize Astounding Avoidance, but Slip Bonds does sound like I could find that useful if you don't need tricks for others.

Hey Gang,

Here's a heads up. GM Lithrac had to drop for real life reasons. I have asked my VA Michael Hallet if he can take you through the first week, while I find a replacement GM for all of you.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but we'll make sure that you guys take off on your high tier asteroid trip!

Hugs

I can try, but when my original table didn't make I ended up recruiting for two other scenarios.

We'll see how the first week goes to see if I feel like I can keep up.

Grand Lodge

Thanks for your understanding, everyone. I'm sorry I had to bow out of this one, but it's for the best. My life's really hectic right now, and I wouldn't make that scenario justice in my opinion.

Also, thank you Michael for picking it up!

I created a GM profile that has several links you'll want to refer to.

Slides: The maps we'll be using in game.

Monster Knowledge: Categories of things you can ask for your monster knowledge checks. I will put the base DC and base info in a spoiler for each creature you encounter. For every 5 you exceed the base DC by you get to ask about one category of information as outlined on this sheet.

Buffs: Use this to keep track of your buffs. I'll try to put a minute marker on each post out of combat to help keep track.

In addition, if I am able, I would like to handle some spellbook maintenance handled prior to the start of the adventure. Heroism, greater magic weapon, and overland flight. I could roll for the Spellcraft checks to copy the spells into the spell book, but would be happy to able to take 10 on the check if allowed.

GM:
So I'm unfortunately rather familiar with clay golems from a previous scenario but I'm rather curious... Can Greater Skald's vigor heal the wounds from a clay golem with a caster check? If so is it one check per round or one check period? Same question for Path of Glory, particularly combined with Lesser Celestial Totem

Dark Archive

Solomon:
"Except where noted here, fast healing is just like natural healing."

Since Cursed Wound resists natural healing, fast healing won't work at all.

As for the spell, you check once per casting of the spell. Since the totem is in addition to the spell, if the spell works, the totem adds to it. If the spell doesn't work, neither does the totem."

I doubt it would have made much of a difference in this case, GM, but if you were rolling SR for Avelina's spell, she has spell penetration and greater spell penetration, so she's at +15 to get through SR, higher if the target has the chaotic and/or evil subtypes

Dark Archive

In this case, it didn't make a difference, it has more than 16 SR.

In the future, feel free to roll your own SR checks for these creatures.

Sounds good. If it's okay then, I will also roll SR checks preemptively when we don't know if creatures have SR, in case they are needed. Hopefully, that should help streamline things.

Dark Archive

That's fine. I try not to roll for players, but in this case with the outages, who knows how long we'd be waiting if I had to wait for another post for an SR check.

If you are comfortable with it, I'm happy to have you roll and SR check even if you aren't sure they have SR or not.

I have enough experience with PbPs by this point to know that they can get bogged down over the slightest thing, and also that the easier that I make things on the GM logistically, the more fun everyone has
