Kitoro will try to use her wand of IH again on Lyan
UMD: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
That'll do!
I know we have a potion, but I don't mind the charge
While she's playing with wands...
"Ouch. Dang it Kane. It couldn't have been that bad."
Well, maybe I did deserve that, I could feel his emotions and he was pretty sick when I swung him like a sword.
... she also pulls out a wand of heightened awareness and gives herself a 10 minute bonus to perception and knowledge skills and a +4 to her initiative if needed in the next 10 minutes.
"It was for ART!"

☤Medic’s Report ☤ Lyan -2/38 ; Jirelle -14 hp

Antonella gives Lyan the CMW potion to drink.

Antonella then heals Jirelle using the swashbuckler’s wand she left with the priestess for safe keeping.

CLW on Jirelle: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

The paladin then lifts both eyebrows and wand above Lyan, silently seeking permission from Jirelle to use her wand to heal Lyan.

Antonella's hand lashes out like a cobra to grab Kitoro's wrist, while the bard is distracted by her pet's insurrection.
Without hurting the bard, Antonella rotates her wrist gently as she examines the wand. "Hmm ... thought so."
The paladin releases Kitoro, her expression as blank as a slab of stone. "I'm not one to tell others how to live, Kit. I'll just say if the occasion arises, I beseech you to let me expire before using that instrument on me."

Peribras breathes a sigh of relief as the statue grinds to a halt. He moves to check his fallen comrade's wounds, but quickly realizes the others are more capable than himself.

Killia ensures his weapons have not been mangled by the constructs demise and wipes and splinters and residue from them before searching the room for anything that may prove useful in their endeavour.
perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
"At least this thing was not as deadly as the constructs of the technic league." he muses as he searches. "Now, have we any methods for what to do next, the Venture Captain did suggest trying to recruit him as an ally, seems he may be above petty vengence. So, shall we try to recruit him? Return the captured Wizards to the Thakur and leave? Or are we more bloodthirsty than I anticipated?"

![]() |

After being winded then healed Jirelle gasps and nodds to Killa's suggestion. Taking a few more second to get her breath back she joins the conversation.
"Yeah, getting him to join is the plan. More of a, forget the Aspis, join the Pathfinders. But who's going to listen to someone when they say. Give up everything you have now, forget about the Aspis even though they let you do what you want, and join us where there are rules a plenty and likely, less pay. I don't see it working, so everyone be ready."
She reloads her crossbow and holds if in her buckler hand before taking a few steps toward the giants construct. "Should we take some of these pieces out so they can't reactivate it? There may be more monks outside still, if they come down and fix this up by the time we're done with Zamir then there's a high possibility that we're screwed."

![]() |

Lyan achingly gets on his feet after being seen to by his comrades.
"Ungh... That went well, don't you think?"
At the mention of whether or not the group should capture the Aspis agent, Lyan rubs his sore shoulder.
"I believe that I have proven myself to Ragathiel enough for today... I say we try and reason with the guy."

"I'm not one to tell others how to live, Kit. I'll just say if the occasion arises, I beseech you to let me expire before using that instrument on me."
"Ouch! Dang it, between you and Kane I've only got two limbs left! What is it with you paladin types? You would THINK that that using the blood from a dead demon to heal would be apropos, ironic even! Certainly not evil! Just because of a temporary aura flux that hardly anyone can see! And spare me the mental gymnastics necessary to support 'Infernal Healing is EVIIIILLLL'..."
With that she strikes a mocking pose hands splayed accross her eyes in horror.
"...because I'm not buying." she sniffs noisily, then adds,
"But don't worry. Though I do NOT understand why you think that way, I do, kind of, respect your wishes and will not use the wand on you... or anyone else that feels the same way and lets me know."
Well maybe not so much respect the insanity, but the fists, or grip, behind it.

As you take a moment to catch your breath, the venture-captain's words come back to you on the wings of memory...
"Zamir is an arrogant man whose loyalties lie with whoever can make him famous to the people of Jalmeray. Right now he believes the Aspis Consortium is the answer. You will either convince him that the Society is the answer — as he could be a very powerful ally in the region — or you’ll end his operations for good."
With your wounds healed and your plan refreshed in your minds, you make ready to carry out your mission. Given the racket made by your battle with the construct, stealth seems laughable at this point. With a steadying breath, you open the door to see what awaits you in the next chamber.
The room is nicely decorated and comfortably furnished, unlike the rest of the complex. Cushioned chairs create a comfortable sitting area, and a large tapestry depicting a battle of dozens of dervishes in a bright yellow sandy desert adds color to the room. The air is scented with cinnamon and trophy heads and animal skins decorate the floor and remaining walls.
A fairly handsome man stands at the back of the room near the tapestry with a smug look on his face. He holds a familiar scepter in his hand and has it pointed at you in a threatening posture. A young tiger lounges on a sofa beside him and opens his jaws to voice a rattling feline growl at your approach.
"Easy Jumra. We don't want to be impolite to our guests. Let me guess, you are the intrepid Pathfinders, here to take back your precious artifact... Well, I'm afraid we can't accommodate your needs today. You'd best run along now, and be sure to give your new venture-captain my regards!" He gives a throaty chuckle, amused by his own joke.
Feel free to move into the room in whatever order you prefer. Zamir is not friendly but he is not outright hostile either. You suspect he will hear what you have to say.

"Anyone care to use a charge from my wand of heightened awareness? Make use of it while you can."
Anyone who wants to can post a UMD roll (or rolls if more than one is needed) or just post that they use if it it is on their class spell list and I'll deduct a charge. It's a personal spell so you will have to be the one to cast it.

![]() |

the competence bonus to perception won't help since Falcon's Aim already gives +3, but Peribras will cast it via his spell list since the +4 initiative may be handy

Like a mummer getting ready to perform, Killia plasters a smile on his face as he steps i to the final chamber, he looks at the tiger appraisingly, as if wishing he had such a magnificent beast of his own. He waits patiently as Zamir bored them with his obvious threats, keeping the smile fixed.
"Keep the Sceptwr." he begins amiably, hoping to throw Zamir off guard, "Think of it as a gift from the Society, one which we hope will cement a mutually beneficial relationship between yourself and out vast organisation. You are a man of resource and a great mind, traits the Society find admirable and applaud. You wish to be recognised for your greatness and the Society would like to offer you aid in such a purpose, we did not come her for unwarranted violence, out only actions have been to defend ourselves from silent monks, who were healed by our own, and against the construct guard you placed, everyone else is unharmed for it would not do to ruin the operation of a potential friend."
Killia takes a breath, allowing his allies to chime in and for a initial reaction from Zamir.

""Don't give up! Try again!"
That won't do it unless it is on your class spell list in which case you do not need to roll. The way it works is that you get to keep trying until you either roll a 20 (in which case it worked) or a nat 1 (in which case you may not attempt to activate the item for 24 hours). So keep rolling until you get one of the two results.

Jirelle takes a stand next to Killa while he makes his speech and attempts tonadd to the diplomacy.
"In all fairness, Zamir. Look what you've accomplished. But then look at what the society accomplishes. Vast wealth, mysterious and wonderful items. Adventure and fame in every corner of the world. You could make it further than so many Adventurers out there today. Rather than having a name scorned with infamy, you would have roars as cheers, shouting out your name like a hero. With all the added benefits."

"Frankly, I think the best reason is that the society treats you fairly. No 'allies' lurking in the corners ready to pry it from your dead hands . No 'allies' trying to off you just so they can get a bigger share. I lived like that for a while. This is MUCH better. Just consider for a moment how we got so close to you in spite of being surrounded by dozens of 'allies'. So the REAL question is how long do you want to enjoy your successes, even provided you take care of us."
Each time she says 'allies' it is with a mocking tone.

Zamir cocks a dubious eyebrow when Killia begins speaking like a silver-tongued devil rather than reaching for his blades. "So I have impressed the Society enough that they want to recruit me now... interesting. But you seem to missing something. Look around you. Here I am the master of my own fortune. My men answer to me. Why would I deign to bow and scrape and do some venture-captain's bidding? Infamy may not be the highest form of renown, but at least I am my own man. What can the Society offer me that is worth more than that?"
Things are going well, you clearly have his attention. I'll go ahead and explain that you need to move his disposition three steps to succeed in bringing him into the fold. Step one is accomplished. If you should make a well reasoned argument but only a lack-luster roll, I may grant bonuses to get you over the hump.

"That's just the question. Which of us said you had to stay as a pathfinder. What's stopping you from being the captain and giving the orders? Picking and choosing. You will still have men to command, and you won't ever have to look over your own shoulder. What could you possibly lose?"

“Some druids preach the tiger is disappearing from parts of Vudra where he hunts alone, Nawab.” (Lord or Governor)
Antonella bows respectfully. “Although mighty in his own lair, he is stronger to expand his territory and terrorize his enemies with a compatible ally.”
“Why the Society?” The priestess ticks the reasons off on her fingers. “We are neutral with respect to local politics and you would have a free hand to run your operation day-to-day as you see fit.”
“If you appreciate magical artefacts, the Ten have arguably the greatest collection on Golarion.”
“Finally, if you are having difficulties with a particular party – say a treacherous nest of snakes … If you ally with the Society, your enemy will become OUR enemy.”

Killia is glad to have taken the man aback, it is true the many of Society have a reputation for unwarranted violence, though it was ironic that many of them are alike to the killers a thieves they profess to take down in the name of 'justice' or another such warped notion.
"What my allies say rings true, whilst there is structure within the Society, Agents are left to be free to pursue their own goals, tasks are offered but by no means are you forced to take them. Our newest Venture Captain would like to consider you an ally and wash the bad blood away between you. What say you?"

Zamir's expression becomes more thoughtful as the smug look drains from his features. He looks around at his finery and suddenly seems to see his close quarters for what they really are, a cell. A gilded cage for an exceptional and treacherous creature... but a cage all the same. His eyes drop and he strokes the young tiger's fur as he begins to reply, slowly... hesitantly. "If I turn my back on the Consortium... I... We will need stalwart allies, indeed. I can see now that is what you are. I had loyal friends of my own once. But the Aspis just kept pushing us... demanding more and more raids. They fell one after another. Soon I had pay for replacements and when the money ran low, I had to force them into service. I grew bitter and angry at the Pathfinders for slaying my men... we only wanted the cargo, I couldn't understand why they fought so fiercely. Soon I wanted to best the Society any way that I could. I see now that I was rash. Do you really think it is possible I might be forgiven my crimes and become a respected member of your organization? I have heard that you chronicle your deeds and record them for posterity... is that true?"
His spirits lift as he sees more and more potential advantages of allying with the Pathfinder Society. He retrieves a box of assorted components and riches along with the key to the captive wizards chains. "Here, take this with my gratitude and carry the wizards with you back to their homes. Lesser men... and women," he corrects himself, ducking his head to the ladies in the party. "Lesser folk would have carried my head back in revenge for the things I have wrought. I hope that if we should meet again, it will be on better terms to begin. I will disband this place and come to meet with your Venture-Captain when it is done. You may know this already as you seem to have found us easily, but Waman, the porter, is an Aspis spy. It was he who killed the late VC, he thought she suspected him and I told him to take care of it before we lost our advantage. For that I am truly sorry now." He seems sincere in his change of heart and his regret for his misdeeds, your fair words having shown him the error of his ways.
That's it, folks! You did it! Feel free to wrap up in character and I will get us reported and your chronicles emailed as soon as I can. If you use the faction journal cards, I think a few conditions are met here. Freeing captives, making new friends, turning an enemy to your cause... I forget what all is on the various ones. Good game, group! It's been a pleasure to run for you! ^_~
I even learned something...

Antonella stands motionless in Tāḍāsana or Mountain Pose throughout Zamir’s emotive response.
Kitoro feels a *nudge* in her back. But if she turns around, the monk is staring forward imperiously, seemingly not having moved.
“Redemption, Kit. It droppeth as the gentle rain from Axis.”
Antonella raises a fascinated eyebrow. “Why if a tiger can change his stripes, perhaps a fo… bard can change her tune?”

Killia gives the man another smile and bows his head slightly now that business is concluded. Moving cautiously he takes the belongings and the key from their new ally.
"You truly have made a wise decision I hope, the Society has great influence over many things and the return of the Wizards should help cool the Thakur's ire. Farewell, let us meet again in a relaxed atmosphere and you could tell us of your less controversial exploits."
Killia then turns on his heel and makes his way back to the Wizard sweat shop to free them.
Cheers guys! Brilliant game and nice to see things go less violently for a change! ^^

Antonella raises a fascinated eyebrow. “Why if a tiger can change his stripes, perhaps a fo… bard can change her tune?”
Kit deliberately misinterprets the advice and puts on her best innocent look, then says
"What sort of tune would you like? I know a number of bawdy pirate songs! Do they sing in ??? Oh, what was that bar you told me about? Martinis, Margaritas? Matins? Something like that!"

Jirelle nodds and begins to take herself outside. "I'll prepare the cart for our return. I imagine the captain will expect it back." Before she makes her exit she turns back to Zamir and reassures him of his decision. "The Aspis are a mockery. We and the rest of society shallnot exploit you like they did. We will stand with you." With that she makes her exit.
Diplomacy for the win, well played everyone. Also thank you so much Bluedove, I really enjoyed this :)
Also, what did you learn? Just curiosity.
