Cain'
"Mop, check. Bucket...bucket. Nope, no bucket. Who's got a finger I can shove in that open artery?" Cain says as between his palms an immaterial hand forms. "Wait, I think I have a spare hand with five available fingers. Those should do." Cain steps up behind Acalon and says. "Now Acalon, severed mite fingers don't stick in open arteries well, so try not get them bashed out huh?" Cain winks at Red as he places the glowing immaterial hand on Acalon's shoulder where the blood is pouring from. The hand seems to grasp the woulds, sealing them off.
Heal: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Adriana
Adriana curses softly to herself as she turns away from the mite that advanced on her, earning herself a slice across the arm for her trouble. Moving past another mite, her invisible armor saving her from another stab, she hurries to the opposite wall, next to Acalon. Shifting further down the scroll she cast from last, she mutters a few words aloud and her hand glows with a soft light. Placing her hand to Acalon's back it seems to knit flesh together much as Cain's did.
Cure Light: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Cael - 42
Go Acalon!!! if tick is still ticken will shoot it otherwise will shoot the mite Adriana left hanging in the wind since it the only one not in melee with someone.
With a wild wordless yell he lets loose yet another bow shot.
Hit:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21 +2 if human +1 if inside of 30 ft range
Dmg:1d8 ⇒ 2 +2 if human +1 if inside of 30 ft range
I really hate my damage.. do masterwork arrows add damage? if so gonna be buying some! *sigh* gotta get to level 8 before i can get first level of arcane archer..... How the heck do archer rangers do anything in battles?
Red the Horse Boy
"Woot! Keep the steel wall standing!" Red then looks down at the mite that just cut him, looks at his staff, looks back at the mite, "I'll get you this time my ugly, and your little Tick too.."
staff1:1d20 ⇒ 13 staff2:1d20 ⇒ 9 Red swings wildly at the tick in front of him. staff1:1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 staff2:1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 "Die you cursed thing, DIE! @#%%^@#$"
The Eagle continues after its prey, charging the mite that got away (Adriana's mite I think): beak: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14 beak:1d4 ⇒ 4
Atapax
Acalon's blow nearly shatters one of the tick's legs, and Cael's arrow scores another hit on its side. Still, the beast comes on, scrabbling forward once again to attack.
Tick has taken 27.
Unfortunately, Red's blows fall just shy of the mite attacking him, the ceiling getting in the way yet again. But fortunately, the eagle has better luck, diving in to rip strips of flesh from the mite left by Adriana, bringing him down in another tumble of feathers.
Mite down.
Cain up.
Cain'
With numerous small cuts abounding and their attackers down in number, Cain murmurs something about where a certain Kobold might be before pointing at the tick and saying. "You have been weighed in the scales and found wanting." With that, light emanates from him and washes over those around him, but noticeably missing the tick and the other mite.
channel: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Cael - 42
no str bonus so will be looking for those magic bows.... guess masterwork arrows couldn't hurt... eewww that would be 120 gp for a quiver of 20 arrows. hmmm wonder what else i can do to make them even more expensive. rofl
Atapax
Adriana, feeling Cain's burst of healing energy and seeing it's effects, just keeps a tight grip on her scroll while she jabs her spear at the tick, trying to keep him off of Acalon.
Aid another:1d20 - 1 ⇒ (11) - 1 = 10- Acalon +2 to AC.
The kobold meanwhile, forgotten in the press of the battle, seems to have snuck his way around to the other side, snagged one of the fallen mite's weapons, and is now attacking them from behind.
Though his attack doesn't score a hit, it is managing to distract the mite a bit as he now has Cael in front of him, and the kobold behind.
The giant tick seems determined to bite Acalon's armored head off, however, and keeps coming despite Adriana's spear. However the combination of its wounds and the interposing weapons make his attack easily avoided.
Acalon, Cael, and Red are up.
Cael - 42
Noticing the mite and remembering the pain of their little daggers he turns on the mite beside him and tries shooting him in the face.
Hit:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 +2 if human +1 if inside of 30 ft range
Dmg:1d8 ⇒ 7 +2 if human +1 if inside of 30 ft range
baa this is laughable cant roll damage on a hit and can roll to hit on damage.......
Red the Horse Boy
Sorry guys, didn't mean to take so long to post
Woohoo flanking the Mite
After his previous whiff, plus Cael and Kobold's misses, he muses to himself, "Oh why not, just swing at the untouchable little abomination..."
1:1d20 ⇒ 1 2:1d20 ⇒ 9 1:1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 2:1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Wholly freak cow... and Red knocks himself out with his own staff
The Eagle, it's latest victim over and done, looks around and finds the big ugly thing, and goes after the tick, (it should end up flanking it opposite Acalon)
beak:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12, 1d4 ⇒ 3
Atapax
Just to clarify, the kobold is flanking with Cael, not with Red. Also, the eagle can't give a flanking bonus because you need to have a threatened area to do so. With a 0 reach, he cannot threaten. It can, however, recieve a flanking bonus from Acalon.
The combat continues with little damage being done by either side. Acalon's blow skips off of armor, Cael's arrow sails wide, and Red's staff... well... it misses. Badly. Even the eagle has little luck against the giant tick, the plates of it's armor just too much for it to penetrate.
Thankfully the lack of any luck continues with the mites, their knives going well wide of any mark.
Misses all round. Cain's up.
Adriana
Reaching the same conclusion as Cain, Adriana shifts her tactic slightly, using her spear on the tick in an effort to create an opening that Acalon can exploit.
Aid Another: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1
Unfortunately, her efforts do little to help anyone, except maybe the tick.
Atapax
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
Whether because of Adriana's failed effort, or just by good fortune, the tick lunges forward and this time Acalon's shield is just too slow to block the assault. The beast's teeth sink in yet again, drawing yet another stream of blood from the knight.
8 Points damage to Acalon.
The kobold, meanwhile, manages to connect with his dagger this time, but the blow just doesn't seem to have the power to get through the mite's thick skin.
Atapax
The glob of acid strikes true, splattering over the side of the ticks body and burning through armor, just in time for Cael's arrow to zip through the same spot, burring itself inside. The tick gives one last spasm towards Acalon, then crashes to the floor, sending the mite on its back sliding off.
Meanwhile, the eagle finds purchase on the nearly surrounded mite and tears into him beak and talon, taking him down to join the others on the floor.
Giant tick is down, but the rider is still alive. Prone but probably not for long. Only one other mite left.
The lone regular mite left has a moment of panic as the tick falls, but seeing his chieftain still alive gives him hope and he lays into Acalon once again. Yet to no avail.
Cain up.
Adriana
Seeing that Cain has the healing well in hand, Adriana focuses on the downed mite, pointing a finger at him as she focuses her eye upon his own.
The chieftain quails beneath that gaze, his manner becoming even more uncertain as the certainty of his defeat fills him.
Chief is -2 to AC, to hit, checks, and saves for 8 rounds.
Atapax
The chief slides off of his mount with some grace, clutching a spear in his hand. Despite Adriana's effect on his emotions, he sees little options and flings himself at Acalon with reckless abandon.
Unfortunately for him his power is not quite what his tick's was, and the blow is easily turned.
Back to Cael, Acalon, and Red.
Red the Horse Boy
Red, figuring he's not going to accomplish much in the remainder of this fight, leaves the Eagle to finish up, and turns his attention towards the table. Walks up close to the table. Looking at the strange little statuette, he tries to see if it is magical (detect magic, and will hold it for one more round).
The Eagle, steps over the fallen tick and continues its assault on its rider (and if that one is dead by its turn it will turn to the last one standing):
beak:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
talon1:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
talon2:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
beak:1d4 ⇒ 4
talon1:1d4 ⇒ 3
talon2:1d4 ⇒ 3
Cael - 42
"And lets pin this one back too!" raises his bow and shoots the last regular mite that is still standing.
Hit:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 +2 if human +1 if inside of 30 ft range
Dmg:1d8 ⇒ 7 +2 if human +1 if inside of 30 ft range
roflmao here we go again bad to hit great damage :( very frustrating.
Cael - 42
"Lets pin that one to the wall" Cael exclaims as he shoots at the last reaming normal mite.
Hit:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14 +2 if human +1 if inside of 30 ft range
Dmg:1d8 ⇒ 6 +2 if human +1 if inside of 30 ft range
Atapax
While Acalon's blow goes wide, perhaps because of Cael's arrow flicking right in front of him to clatter against the wall, the eagle continues it's assault on the mite, clawing and even getting a bite in on the tough beast. Wounds that would have brought down a normal person just don't have the same effect on this thing.
Chief has taken 4.
The last remaining mite stabs once again at Acalon, scoring a minor wound along his arm.
Acalon takes 1
Cael - 42
Congratulations!
Baa I don't have time to play games on the computer let a lone on 360... sad state of affairs i know. Common now guys lets kill of these last two and get us a level! then we can see what we can do about the kobolds.
Cael - 42
curses as his shot again goes wide he takes a couple steps to the south to get a better angle and shoots at the dang mite again.
Hit:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 +2 if human +1 if inside of 30 ft range
Dmg:1d8 ⇒ 7 +2 if human +1 if inside of 30 ft range
"Gattcha!"
Red the Horse Boy
It was between the PS3 w/Move and the Xbox w/Kinect. In just fun factor the Kinect wins hands down. I hate both companies equally, so that balanced itself out. It was tough passing up the Blu-ray though.
Any indication of magic around the table oh GM? If so Red will keep focusing on it for another round to see how many objects there are, and if not Red will turn towards the chief with his detect magic, just to see if there is any magic loot on him.
If Acalon doesn't finish off the Chief, then the Eagle might:
beak:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
talon1:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
talon2:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
beak:1d4 ⇒ 3
talon1:1d4 ⇒ 2
talon2:1d4 ⇒ 3
