Can we Take 20?
No need.
You strain to push the heavy doors, a foot thick stone each. Leaning heavily, suddenly the doors are yanked open from within. Just like that, you are facing two...no three angry trolls!
Everyone who rolled has to give me a DC 12 Reflex save or fall prone at the troll's feet. Go and roll and post what you do pass or fail, or what you do to react. ONE ACTION!

Not sure what I was waiting for...
Rhianni's spell blinds the two trolls in the front, normal ones for their kind. The one on the right barely has time to adjust to his new handicap before he is hacked, burned, and melted to death. The one on the left eats an arrow from Praxim, and he lashes out with his claws. His blindness defeats him, however, and he catches nothing but air.
The larger troll in the back is one of a different sort. Somewhat larger, and armed with a wicked-looking trident, it stabs at Thordak. Two quick strikes hit the dwarf, one in the leg (-18 hp Thordak) and one straight through the chest! (-37 hp, Thordak; Crit!)
This cold, damp room features a large pool in the floor, the edges of which are caked with pale yellow slime and fungus. The surface of the pool bears a similar film. Additional carvings of skulls decorate the walls here. To the south, an impressive mound of skulls—mostly from humanoids—lies heaped against the wall, where they partially block a large stone double door.
Will get a map up tonite.

Because it does more damage and I can wield it. That's it. Nothing fancy behind it. I'm not sold on it in any way though. Being magical does help its cause. If it wasn't I'd be going with my longaxe as often as I could but I like to use that one for reach mainly. Of course, if I find an even bigger weapon than the hook, odds are I'll probably switch to that one. But if it's non-magical then that would make it a somewhat tougher decision. Maybe not though. Heck, it's all a crapshoot really. :)
