Glad Mia put up some more light he rejoins the others looking down the path while whispering to them, "That throne is relatively new. So whatever built it is probably occupying this place and is at least humanoid shaped. No mere animal or monster."
Lacking any special vision to see in the dark, he relies on the others to spot anything down the passage.

Challenged with the limitations of the environmental lighting, Fundir adapts to the situation by morphing into a form that provides a better field of vision in the dark. (Fundir now has 60’ dark vision and can see comfortably in the dark. That being said, in his current location he can only make out part of the corridor beyond the gate.)
Ederen moves up and peers down the hall with his genetically inherited dark vision. Where others struggle in the pitch blackness, Ederen finds the environment comfortable. (Ederen can see the full length of the corridor and most of the room beyond.)
Back at the entrance, Mia conjures four glowing globes that begin whirling about and increasing in brightness as they head over to the gated west corridor. From her vantage point she can see the light of her spell glinting off the distant wall of the corridor and the bones littered throughout the area. (I created (4) light globs on the map. You are welcome to move them at will , or on your turn in combat. They are yours to control.)
Serge finds the addition of the newly added magical light comforting as his very limited vision finally comes back into focus. As the light from Mia’s spell lights the room, Serge finds the bone pile at his feet to be larger than it appeared in the dim light.
Felli finds the corridor more visually accommodating as the floating globes of light reach the gated area. Soon he is able to clearly see a second set of gates about 30’ from his current position. (Felli will be able to make out the room beyond the second set of gates, but the room is considered dimly lit until the orbs move further down the hall.)
The corridor extends twenty five foot beyond the first set of iron gates were it meets a second set of iron gates. Both gates look to be slightly open, but rusted. Skeletal corpses thinly wrapped in decaying burial linen rest in niches cut into the stone of the wide hallway, which is intersected by numerous narrow fissures. Many of the niches have collapsed, with bony remains jutting out of the rocks and dark earth. The hallway opens into a larger room, where a stone altar is surrounded by cracked walls decorated with intricate reliefs of religious figures and prominent Davians whose tombs lie beyond.
About two thirds of the way down the hall, a skeletons crushed in one of the alcoves begins clutching at the air with its only free appendage. It was obviously animated at one time, but is now locked within the collapse earth.
The hall opens into a room filled with relief-covered walls surrounding a large stone altar. The reliefs depict scenes of Aroden on Golarion, performing a lesser miracle at Westcrown where he transformed and revitalized a garden of roses.
Above the altar, a large troll hangs upside down from a thick chain dangling from the ceiling. The troll’s only remaining arm is chained to its side by the same thick chain that holds it upside down. Lying on the altar, next to the troll, sits a blood covered cleaver that has obviously been used to hack the troll apart. The beast’s entire left arm has been removed, leaving a gaping wound where its arm use to be. In addition, the troll’s midsection has been split open, causing its entrails to spill out and dangle down onto the floor. Large amounts of the troll’s blood covers the altar and parts of the floor causing a red glass like shimmer as the light from the magical orbs reflect off the area . Dangling from its chain, the beast wail’s in agony as it’s natural ability to heal barely keeps it alive.

"You need to see this" - Ederen whispers to the others, before conjuring a simple spell.
Casting Detect Magic and continuing to scan the tunnel for auras.
The casting is almost casual, as if second nature to the bulky half-orc - such an easy spell rolls off his tongue almost as if he was simply making a comment, or as an afterthought.
Once he is done, the MAgus describes the scene to those who cannot see it - "Nasty business..." - he comments.
Damn, that description was creepy Nightfiend - my hat is off to you for that SIR! And finally some gloom in an adventure. I like it a lot! ;)

DUDE!!!! That's just messed up.. even for some of the darker scenarios! Wow.. Good job with the narration, but damn I did not see that one coming!

He peers down the hall for any more surprises and waits for the group before advancing.

He stiffens his hand on the hilt of his sword.

Not liking the idea of whatever could've done that to the large troll coming after them, he sheaths his sword and draws his bow, thinking ranged combat might be a good choice for this encounter.
"Ugh... a horrible sight. Won't be able to get this scene out of my dreams for awhile. I agree about putting the troll out of it's misery but first we should handle whatever did that to the troll. Also, I fear some more of those skeletons might start to move."
| GM Nightfiend |
(Ya a bit dark.. But an interesting twist on things.)
Ederen utters a few words of magic and begins examining the hallway and the room for auras of magic. Surprisingly, nether show any sign of magic.
Fundir moves closer and begins to carefully examine the area for anything that would spark his interest. Between the troll’s cry's for deleverance, Fundir manages to catch the faint sound of movement within the room beyond the second gate. The sound is soft and difficult to detect, but it is enough to alert the hunter that something is carefully moving about in the distant room. (Fundir can now see what was described in the previous description of the room and hallway.)

"There issss ssssomething elsssse about.. I hear ssssomething moving in the next room.." Fundir alerts his companions before also drawing his bow. He takes a few moments, and casts a complicated spell while holding his bow in both hands. GM: Before it becomes an issue, what is your take on casting "Entangle" within an underground dungeon? I have had it go both ways, where it was and was not allowed, normally dependent upon the construction of the dungeon itself.
Being underground wouldn't be an issue assuming you had the primary component, which is some sort of plant to entangle the area with. In this particular case, there are no plants around, so the spell would have no affect. This would be different if the spell stated that it sprouted the growth of plants, which entangled the area.

That's the interpretation I have been going with, but I never know how the GM is going to interpret the "behind the scenes" info they have.. if its a rough dirt wall where roots can get in for example. Thank you!

Mia's not completely undisturbed by the scene of the troll's situation.
She holds a had before her mouth at the sight of it.
"Give...hold on...." (slow breathing)
"That's vile, even towards barbaric creatures like trolls..
Does anybody have some fire or acid, to end this troll's suffering?
A torch could even do the job."

Serge draws his greatsword at Fundir's warning and nods at Mia. "No creature deserves such a fate. Whatever this troll has done throughout its life, it deserves proper judgment at the Boneyard."
He moves closer to the troll as he attempts to better examine the room, hefting his sword on his side in preparation of any threats that may be nearby.

He moves closer to the troll as he attempts to better examine the room, hefting his sword on his side in preparation of any threats that may be nearby.
Currently I show serge’s Icon still over at the throne. I am assuming you are unable to access the map, or unable to move the icon. If you give me an indication on how close to the troll you intend to move, I can move your icon for you. For now, I am going to assume that you moved halfway down the corridor.
Mia's not completely undisturbed by the scene of the troll's situation.
Similar to Serge’s situation. Based on this statement, I am assuming Mia has moved from the stairs, where her icon currently is, to a point where she can see the troll. For the most part, keeping up with the group, but staying a little behind the frontline. I will move Mia closer to the west corridor. If this is not your intent, let me know and I will relocate Mia back to the stairs.
Mia moves closer to the corridor and then moves the floating globes of light a little further down the hall. The lack of ambient light is quickly illuminated by the presence of the magical orbs. Shadows flicker off the skeletal remains of what once was some sort of burial chamber. Aside from the one skeletal arm hanging from a collapsed alcove and the occasional shudder from the troll, there is no visible movement in the corridor or the room beyond.
With the welcome addition of the magical orbs, Serge begins moving down the corridor where he witnesses multiple alcoves cut into the walls. Many of the alcoves have collapsed do to years of neglect. Some, still intact alcoves, display vastly old human remains wrapped in burial linens. Soon Serge locks eyes with the troll, who seems overwhelmed by the paladin’s presence. At the sight of Serge and the group beyond the first gate, the troll begins to trash about in a useless attempt to struggle against the chains that bind him.
Fundir continues to monitor the hall and the room beyond the second gate. The scuffling he heard earlier has stopped, leaving the room silent, with the exception of the troll’s agonizing cry.

Serge moves forward into the room as he considers helping the troll. "I do not speak troll... But I find myself faced with inner turmoil. I am not going to slaughter you, helpless creature, but even with one arm, trolls are formidable foes." Serge looks around the room for anything that may be used to lower the troll down gently.
| GM Nightfiend |
Once Serge enters the room, he finds the floor to be somewhat slick do to the excessive blood in the area. In addition to the blood soaked floor and altar, a blood covered cleaver sits within reach of the paladin, on the altar. Unable to understand Serge's comment, the troll hangs quietly from the chain and stairs at the paladin.
I need a perception roll from Serge.

Serge glances around but finds nothing outside of the cleaver to brake the chains with. Although the chain seem thick, the paladin notices that the section of the chain that binds the beast’s arm is rusted to the point that it could easily be broken with a few good hits. While investigating the troll’s dilemma, Serge catches something out of the corner of his eye. From one of the crevices to his left, he spots a medium sized creature (Green) as it moves out of a breach in the south wall. Realizing that he has been spotted, the creature begins to move towards the paladin with hunger and ferocity in its eyes.
Ederen barley catches sight of the creature (Green) as it moves up towards Serge.
Felli is heavily focused on the situation with the troll and is caught off guard.
Fundir hears the creature (Green) before it emerges from the crevice in the wall, alerting him of the danger before the creature comes into view.
Gale becomes agitated as the small bird starts repeating a warning over and over in Mia’s ear. “Something is coming! I can see something coming on Serge’s left! Something is coming! I can see something coming on his left!”
Mia Notices the creature (Green) just about the same time as Gale start shouting a warning.
Ghouls are undead that haunt graveyards and eat corpses. Legends hold that the first ghouls were either cannibalistic humans whose unnatural hunger dragged them back from death or humans who in life fed on the rotting remains of their kin and died (and were reborn) from the foul disease—the true source of these undead scavengers is unclear.
Ghouls lurk on the edges of civilization (in or near cemeteries or in city sewers) where they can find ample supplies of their favorite food. Though they prefer rotting bodies and often bury their victims for a while to improve their taste, they eat fresh kills if they are hungry enough. Though most surface ghouls live primitively, rumors speak of ghoul cities deep underground led by priests who worship ancient cruel gods or strange demon lords of hunger. These "civilized" ghouls are no less horrific in their eating habits, and in fact the concept of a well-laid ghoul banquet table is perhaps even more horrifying than the concept of taking a meal fresh from the coffin.

Fundir fires an arrow at the creature (Green) as it emerges from a crave in the South wall. The shot whizzes by Serge and strikes the Iron Gate just before it clanks to the the floor. (Miss)
Creature (Red) emerges out of the shadows, next to the unaware paladin. Writhing with an uncontrollable hunger, the creature is obviously focused on one thing, and one thing alone.
Mia’s eyes begin to glow with a purplish hue as she begins concentrating on the creature (Red) to Serge’s right. Soon her eyes begin to fade with no obvious effect, outside the purple glow. (Evil eye had no effect on the creature.)
Creature (Green) moves up to Serge’s left, providing a flank for creature (Red).
Ederen Hesitates to see what happens. (Delayed, if no response by round (1), I will bot Ederen.)
Serge takes a heavy handed swing at the creature (Red) to his right. (Hit -9 slashing damage.) The blade comes down with a heavy impact, cutting a large gash across the creature’s (Red) right shoulder. After delivering a mighty blow, the paladin makes a tactical adjustment back. (I will require another perception roll from Serge.)

I will require a perception roll from Felli and Fundir. Also, seeing we are now fighting somewhat through the second iron gate, I wanted to clarify how I intend to run cover. The iron gate, which is made of thick bars, will provide partial cover (+2 AC), where as firing a ranged weapon from directly behind a friend or foe will provide soft cover (+4 AC). From Felli's current position he is looking at a combination of partial cover from Serge and partial cover from the gate, which combined will create soft cover (+4 AC). Normally firing through Serge would have provided soft cover (+4 AC), but because Felli decided to move off to one side of Serge, the paladin now only provides partial cover (+2 AC).As it stands, Felli's modifiers would be (+4 AC) for target and (-4 attack) to Felli for firing into melee. Note that melee attacks through the iron gate will also provide (+2 AC) partial cover.

Oh well, it was worth a shot. I wasn't sure they'd be evil eye immune with the mind effects being summed up between ( ).
This was an interesting topic. Ghoul and specter both have had their undead traits omitted from the monster profile, which there hasn't been any indication of this being a typo. Being an undead type, most believe the trait is automatic and doesn't need to be included as an additional quality, yet other undead have it specifically called out in their special quality (Undead traits). Personally, I believe it to be a typo. Subject was interesting to read about tho.

Creature (Red) takes a frenzied multi-attack through the iron bars and misses Serge completely. The bars seem to be providing enough restraint to keep the creature at bay. After realizing it failed to make contact, the creature side steps to its left. Full attack on Serge, missed.)
Mia begins a complex spell, which requires long and intricate arcane hand gestures. (Full round cast.)
Creature (Green) moves up and unleashes a series of clawed attacks, followed by a nasty bite that glances off Serge’s armor. (Full attack on Serge, missed.)

Serge uses the added defense provided by the heavy iron bars of the gate to his tactical advantage. In retaliation of the numerous attacks sent his way, the paladin brings his large great-sword to bear on the creature (Green) to his left. The blade slices down between the gate’s bars and dives deep into the left side of the creature’s skull.
