I usually do fine with rules but I don't get upset when someone points out that I've made a mistake. I'm also human enough to admit that I make plenty when I'm in a hurry.
My brain is so filled with Pharmacology right now that everything else is leaking out. 8(

The following rules are intended to simulate the Gold
Goblin’s profits and debts. For most of this adventure, Saul
Vancaskerkin remains the primary beneficiary of the game
hall’s profits and the one responsible for paying its debts,
but once the PCs take over, those responsibilities and benefits could well fall to them. Note that these rules aren’t
intended to be a realistic simulation of how a business
operates, merely a fast way to determine the profits and
losses of the Gold Goblin itself on a week-to-week basis.
The Gold Goblin’s profitability is ranked on a scale of
–4 to 4, with –4 indicating failure, 0 indicating breakeven,
and 4 indicating success. Currently, the Gold
Goblin’s Profit Rank is at –1; in order to raise it to 5 or
above, the PCs must accomplish weekly tasks to shore up
the business. In addition, certain key events that occur
during the adventure can give the Gold Goblin’s Profit
Rank a bonus or penalty as well. Every Sunday, Saul, applying the Gold Goblin’s current profitability
as a modifier to the roll. He also applies any modifiers
earned by the PCs during that week to the roll as well. It’s
a DC 20 check to increase the Gold Goblin’s Profit Rating
by 1, but if the check fails by 5 or more, the Gold Goblin’s
Profit Rating drops by 1.
The following skill checks can influence the Gold
Goblin’s Profit Rating. A character must accomplish that
particular skill’s requirement at some point during the
week, and at the end of that week he makes the appropriate
skill check. Granting Saul a +1 bonus on his Profession
check requires a different DC for success depending on
the skill in question, but if a PC fails this skill check by 5
or more, he actually imparts a –1 penalty on Saul’s weekly
Profession check.
Bluff (DC ): Spend 2 hours a day cajoling citizens and
tricking them into visiting the Gold Goblin. If this roll
is failed three times, the character’s spreading reputation
makes further Bluff checks automatically fail unless he
successfully Disguises himself.
Craft (DC ): Spend 2 hours a day and 10 gp to create
eye-catching advertisements.
Diplomacy (DC ): Spend 2 hours a day managing the
help and greeting customers at the Gold Goblin.
Diplomacy (DC ): Spend 4 hours a day convincing
citizens to stop by the Gold Goblin.
Intimidate (DC ): Spend 2 hours a day working as a
bouncer at the Gold Goblin.
Intimidate (DC ): Spend 2 hours a day threatening
customers of competing game halls that if they don’t
check out the Gold Goblin, something bad will happen.
Perform (DC ): Spend 2 hours a day performing for
customers at the Gold Goblin.
Profession (gambler) (DC ): Spend 2 hours a day
working as a croupier or dealer at the Gold Goblin.
Perception (DC ): Spend 2 hours a day looking for cheaters at
the Gold Goblin.
Finally, a character can give Saul a bonus to his
profitability check by donating gold to the cause. Every 50
gp donated grants Saul a +1 bonus for that week’s check, up
to a maximum of +5 for 250 gp.

Ok, so if I get this straight, let's say Anežka spends 2 hours a day managing the help and greeting customers at the Gold Goblin (since she is charming and easygoing! ^_^), for the next week, then makes a Diplomacy check. If she beats the DC, then at the end of the week when Saul rolls Profession he gets a +1 bonus on the roll, otherwise he gets nothing, BUT if Anežka fails by 5 or more, Saul actually gets a -1 to his weekly roll.
Ok! If it's like that, I say the Goblin has a new greeter for the next week, and let the dice roll! (If nobody has any objection of course!)
Diplomacy (Job: Greeter): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

OK guys, so I do not know what you all celebrate, but I, personally, celebrate Christmas. And in the spirit of the season I would like you all to post 3 things that you would like for your character.
They can be items, traits, feats, spells, whatever you want. You might get all or none, depending on what you ask for but put them at the bottom of your profile for me so I can have easy access to them.
Biggs Longshaft
I made a list for Santa in my profile ;p came up with a couple holiday inspired items. Take a look and let me know what ya think I can change them if you prefer.
Biggs Longshaft
During the week, Biggs will offer his services as a bouncer at the Gold Goblin.
Intimidate Check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18

Ah! I'd love some gifts for little Anežka! I'm still thinking about it, gimme just a bit more time and I'll post my list. ^_^

I just finished the first of my finals and I'm wiped out with a splitting headache. I was up all night studying and so I'm going to sleep now. I will catch up and post later tonight or in the morning.
Sorry to fall behind. I'll catch up asap.
PS: Pretty sure I passed that one. One more on Thursday and then it's back to the States for Clinical Rotations!

Ok you are back in but you have to let me know if you are going to be gone. It is rude to the other players and holds up the game. If you don't. If you cannot keep up that is fine but I don't do disappearing acts. If it happens a second time then you will be removed and not let back in.
Nothing personal but that was how I recruited and that is the expectation.
Mariwen Haelinde
Ah, I did not realize I had been removed from the game. I literally missed one day.
I'm finding the pressure to keep up with the the constant updates of the game to be more than I'm comfortable with so I'll take this opportunity to back out of the game.
When a faster pace was mentioned, I didn't realize that this meant posting every three hours to avoid being DM-PCd. I'm sure there are many other players that will just love this, so I think I should give them a chance to play.
Best of luck with your game!

Hey guys. I am getting on a plane at 7:15pmCalifornia time and will be flying to the other side of the world. I will update from the airport in CA, then again on my long layover from the airport in London. I will then post a couple times away from the Middle East, but of course I will be on a weird time zone. So If I am a player in your game then please bot as necessary. If I am your GM, my apologies for any slow down that we have for the coming few weeks. However since there is a holiday coming I suspect there will be a slow down in any event.
Anežka Tzvana
but i have a good two hours to make some posts!! I just sat down in the lounge got a drink and am ready to watch you guys make a terrible mistake
Are you suggesting my plan to stand up in the arena and shout "We are under attack! Everybody panic! RAMPAAAAGE!" was less than wise? Preposterous! xD
Also, have a nice flight! :)
Anežka Tzvana
thats a nasty eagle, you almost killed him on the first round!
They are my babies! Wait 'till I can summon a whole ARMY of them... xD
Anežka Tzvana
Well done Vexus! I hope Anezka starts to treat him right now! some extra large snacks are in order.
No, no! Don't encourage him, or he'll never stop bragging about it! (How can he brag if he can't talk, you ask? Pincers! Always waving them about to signal he's better than you! xD).
Also, I'd say let's grab everything and bail! The sooner we get back to the Goblin the better. I have to get offline now, but this was a fun night, thanks guys! :)
Anežka Tzvana
Hey people!
So, I was trying to keep tabs for our loot... Er... Righteous acquisitions. We had to pay 100 gp for the information (Saul chipped in for 50 gp), and Biggs anticipated them all for Anežka (don't trust her Biggs! When it comes down to money, she loses her mind! xD). Then we got back 6400 silvers, and as per the deal, we get one third each, 213 gp and around 3 silvers. So, 263 gp for Biggs and 163 gp for Anežka.
Then we got several scrolls: Anežka would definitely like to keep at least 1 Shield and 1 Burning Hands, to put in her spellbook. All the others she'll gladly let Biggs keep, to use or sell.
The wand and the armor we could sell I suppose.
Pity we couldn't pick the two thieves clean too! Oh well, there is always next time! ;)
Now it's time to tell Saul about the prize chest, then celebrate with the strongest drinks we can find!
Biggs Longshaft
Loot list looks good to me! I don't have any UMD yet so any non-divine scrolls and wands are useless to me ;p So we can sell anything else you don't want.
Biggs Longshaft
So, I don't actually have any points in craft, but I don't think it is trained only? If possible, I would like to spend 50gp and buy a masterwork tool... if this fails miserably I'll wait to try again at level 3 ;p
Anyways, a throwing axe is 8g, so it would be 80 silver and be DC 15, with the masterwork component being DC 20.
Craft: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
MW component: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Craft: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
MW component: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Craft: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
MW component: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11

I will spend this week walking the floor and checking for cheaters, to hopefully catch a glimpse of Clegg or any other enemies... also will help with bouncing if needed.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Intimidate: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
Anežka Tzvana
Can I do what I did the previous week, or do I need to choose something else?
If she can, Anežka will keep being a greeter.
Diplomacy (Job: Greeter): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
