Tre'duinne Braeguldae
Tre will take the time to use the university library to study the making of golems to discover what they can about the flesh golem, its weaknesses and strengths. Using any information gleaned he will see if any magics he knows might help them. He seeks out a place to buy scrolls, before they journey on.

Tre, if you want to go to the library, you won't be able to look at the Chymic Works tonight. Remember that the trial will be continuing irrespective of what you lot get up to...
The urchin doesn't know of any other entrance, but says that it's rather strange - the people going in and coming out don't match. As in, you see someone of a distinctive appearance enter and they never come out again, but someone else leaves that certainly never went in. Odd, isn't it?

Yep, I picked one up. Should be a DC 5 climb with a knotted rope now...though still a problem for Sorin :)
After a couple of false starts, Sorin manages to scramble to the top of the wall and brushes the glass off to create room for the others to perch. He moves off to the side and looks down into the courtyard.
Climb: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (4) - 4 = 0 No progress
Climb: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (1) - 4 = -3 No progress
Climb: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (16) - 4 = 12 7 feet up
Climb: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (20) - 4 = 16 15 feet up
Climb: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (16) - 4 = 12 15 feet up
Of course now I remember I could have just Taken 10!

With varying amounts of effort, you all manage to scramble up... and find that the wall is topped with nasty shards of broken glass.
You'd all better make a DC16 Reflex save to avoid getting skewered!
Below you can see an iron-wheeled cart at one side and a bizarre creature, seemingly made of scraps, sniffing around and looking up at you baring a mouth-full of ill-assorted teeth.

...and licking up our drops of blood...
"I could summon a small creature to attack it so we can see how it fights...or I can make Barret even stronger than he already is if we want to send him over into danger."
Summon monster I or bull's strength. Ultimately, I can do both and bless too, but it might go warn someone too.
Dillan Surestep
HP: 24/29
The rogue follows Barret down from the wall and once his larger friend engages the beast he slips around the back side to gain a flanking position...
Initiative: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 Yes I will delay to go after Barret
Not sure if i'll be able to reach a flanking position or not this round; I am trying to avoid any possible AOO.
Sword: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Sneak Attack: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 2) = 7
Possible Crit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Round 1
A flurry of activity begins. Sorin mutters away casting bless. Tre'duinne gets out a shortbow and opens fire, hitting the flesh-golem-dog-thing on the snout.
The effect is quite dramatic, although Tre' is sure he didn't do much, if any, damage. The poor mutt wimpers, its tail goes between its legs and it scampers off into its kennel where it lies shivering.
Dillan and Barret jump down into the yard. The mutt stays in its kennel. Do the pair of you want to go and beat it up?
Tre'duinne Braeguldae
"Let's not go in the main doors, the side door (north) would be easier to sneak in, don't you think. I'm sure Dillan can deal with the door, as he's done before." Tre says looking back at the kennels and the dog, he loads another bolt in the crossbow, just in case.

The door is locked but soon opens under Dillan's skilled hands, revealing a large chamber beyond. This chamber occupies a whole side of the building, from the cellar level below up to the roof high above. Seven iron vats, each ten feet across, occupy the majority of the room. Furnaces fuel the vats at cellar level, while at the ground floor level a series of planks have been laid across the vats to allow passage to a ladder that leads to an iron walkway on the level above. Two ladders also allow access from the planks to the floor below. The air in the chamber is cloying and acidic.
You're on a narrow stone platform 15 feet above the floor level. There are eight man-like creatures working in here, all wearing cloth breathing masks.
Dillan Surestep
Dillan closes the door, slowly, as to not alert those occupants within. "I have no clue what this is." The rogue looks back to the door, "I also think it best to assume those cloaked men are not going to be friendly to our intrusion."
Were those men all working at the lower level or along the planks?

Were those men all working at the lower level or along the planks?
"Then we make them friendly."
Sorin Szekely
Sorin laughs at Barret's straightforward suggestion. "Might not be a bad idea. We want to figure out what's going on in here don't we? Should we just go ask and deal with the consequences if they are unfriendly? Or would you rather try another door."
