Ugh! It's no use!
Harmini puts away her wand and sighs. She rests her hand gently on his shoulder and speaks softly.
Teos, I.. I think we need to get you to the temple. I'm afraid you have contracted what's known as Mummy Rot. It equally pains me to say this: it's an affliction beyond my skills to remedy. The Grand Mausoleum is not far from here. Do you think you can make it?

Teos of An |

Ok, ignore the healing stuff..lol
"my sister...An-Cleos...Temple of Anubis...I can walk!"
Pushing off the wall the warrior stumbles before catching himself and steadying himself. He takes a few shaky steps but is able to move under his own power.
"Come on! no time to waste!"

Nimaethep |

Nimaethep walks next to Teos. "Lean on me if you need a moment to steady yourself. Are you certain that you want to make the trip to The Hall? The Grand Mausoleum is closer."
She waited for Teos to answer.
"OK, lets go then"
Nimaethep helps Teos if he needs it as they head to his preferred destination.

Talalmackk Chirronna |

Teos is weak but can stumble along as Nimaethep and Malera lead the way. Harmini stays by his side, ready to lend a hand if he seems to get any weaker. For the time being though, his strength seems to be holding.
The streets of Wati seem to caught once again in madness. What should be a calm night has turned into a darkness filled with screams and howls. The occasional running footstep can be heard, but for the most part few people can be seen, even on the main streets. At one point a group of guards runs by, quickly noticing the condition of the group and deciding they have more important matters to deal with. One guard shouts as they go by.
"Seek shelter where you can. The Grand Mausoleum has dispatched the Voices to find the cause of the troubles."
A minute later and the party is passing the Grand Mausoleum itself. Several acolytes run from inside and begin to help the injured as they approach. A now familiar voice can be heard over the crowd, though Sebti the Crocodile is not in view. She seems to be issuing commands to those nearby.
Another ten minutes and the party approaches the Hall of Blessed Rebirth. A crowd of people have gathered outside the main entrance, several of them unable to even stand from their injuries. A few healers work their way through this crowd, trying to help where they can. One makes note of Nimaethep and Malera approaching.
"You seem unharmed." she says. "What is the nature of your injuries? We need to see where..." She trails off as Harmini and Teos come out of the darkness and she wards herself unconsciously.
"Sit him down here." she says. "What has happened to him?"
Sorry for the delay. Wanted to do this earlier this week but the work load continues. I will post as much as I can though. I have reached out to Malera but I know she is having some busy issues as well. We will move on and she can post as she finds time.

![]() |

Harmini looks around the crowd to assess the severity of their injuries before responding to the inquisitive healer in a grave tone.
"Something far worse than what I can see out here, I assure you. He will need the urgent attention of your most experienced healer. We should bring him inside."

Nimaethep |

Nimaethep looked at the crowd of wounded and scared that sat about the Hall. She had worked in this shrine for a few years now, preparing those dwindling few that still had faith in the old gods for their burials. In all her time here she had never seen so many people in attendance.
"Our friend was cursed by a mummy. We have tried healing him but it is beyond our means. Is there anything that you can do?" She looked about the hall "Do you know what is going on? Is there anything we can do to assist?"

The healer seems about to respond sternly to Harmini but eases off as Nimaethep speaks up. The healer motions for the party to follow her and heads into the building's front entrance.
"I've read up on the afflictions of mummy's." she says as she leads the party. "The wounds are not infectious, so he should not be a danger to others. Please bring him in, I will see who may be able to help."
The healer leads the party into a small room with some other wounded people and continues to answer the group's questions.
"As for what has happened, I have heard many ideas but nothing clear. Several people seem to be irrationally saying that the Madness has returned. Whatever it is, it seems to be bringing the dead back to life. Now please wait here for a moment."
The healer heads off quickly. A minute passes and Teos seems weak but no worse than before. A young voice calls out from nearby.
"Teos!"a young boy shouts as he approaches. "Your sister will be glad... Oh no, what has happened you you?"

Talalmackk Chirronna |

The young boy seems hesitant to approach further as Teos explains his condition. Still, he remains focused on what he may be able to do to help.
"Cleos is here," Donkkir says. "she is well, though busy right now. I will go get her."
The boy goes to leave but then notices one of the other healers leading Cleos over to Teos. He turns back to Teos with a weary smile.
"Looks like she's already coming. I need to get on with finding more bandages. As always she will take care of you."
A tired looking woman approaches the group with a look of concern. She is accompanied by the healer who lead the party in, but the two speak briefly and the healer heads back towards the front entrance. The tired woman smiles slightly as she joins the group.
"Teos, what have you gotten into?" she says. "I thought you were just going to an auction. My friend tells me you ran into a mummy, is this true?"
The woman notes the other members of the party nearby but seems to feel that they do not need attention in the same vein as Teos. She then returns her gaze to Teos, awaiting an answer to her questions.

Teos of An |

Sketching a shallow bow, Teos speaks to his sister.
"An-Cleos, it is good to see you once again. The dead have once again arisen and are threatening the town. My friends and I helped to stave off the onslaught at the auction, but then we encountered a mummy. We were able to defeat it, but alas I was infected. Can you help me? I have to get back to check on Father and the rest of the family!"

Nimaethep |

Nimaethep gave a respectful bow and greeted the priestess "May your wards eternally rest undisturbed"
She smiled "It is good to see you again Cleo. Your brother not only lived up to but exceeded the tales that you have told me about him."

Talalmackk Chirronna |

Cleos seems concerned but not shocked when Teos tells her about the undead rising.
"So the rumors we have been hearing are true." she says. "The Voices have been calling all able holy forces to arms. We've heard that they are offering anyone who comes to the city's defense free healing and recovery at the Mausoleum."
As Nimaethep greets her, Cleos smiles warmly.
"Thank you for looking after the lug, Nim. Now Teos, sit still for me. I'm not sure I can handle such a problem, but as we are kind of spent for other resources today, I'm all you got here. Nim, please help him get comfortable while I see what I can find on how best to treat this."
Cleos turns, leaving Nimaethep and Harmini to see to Teos.

![]() |

Harmini looks over to Nima skeptically once Cleos is out of earshot. She leans in and whispers.
Oh dear... This does not look good for Teos.
"How well do you know Cleos? Are you sure she can handle this? I think we should've gone to the Grand Mausoleum instead of passing by. At least the Pharasmin clerics there are more... reputable."

Nimaethep |

Nimaethep's tail twitched slightly at the implication that the priests here were not reputable, but she held her tongue on the matter. "I have known Cleo for a while. With respect to her character, she is trustworthy. She sincerely cares for her brother and won't do anything to harm him. I believe that his safety is of utmost importance to her."
She pauses for a moment to consider her next words "As for her talents, she would not have been ordained a full priestess if she did not have absolute faith in Anubis, however she has just recently been promoted and I remain concerned that she does not yet have the skill to treat an affliction of this severity. If she is unable to find the means to treat Theo I have the utmost confidence that she will do the right thing and recommend that he be seen by those with more experience or resources."
As well, Nimaethep considered that while it was a testament to Cleo's devotion that she could receive the God's blessings, they had long ago withdrawn from mortal affairs leaving the fate of Osrion to the new deities. The influence of the old pantheon was limited compared to the active involvement in the community of gods such as Pharasma and Sarenrae.

Teos of An |

Teos stares coldly at the witch. He is about to say something when Nimaethep starts to speak. He nods in agreement with the catfolk's words and once she is finished he adds his own remonstration for Harmini.
"My sister AN-Cleos holds a position of respect in this temple and I will not have you calling her abilities into question. We may follow the old gods, but that is no reason to call into doubt her or my devotion to them. I know we have only recently met, and perhaps you did not realize this was my sister, so I am willing to overlook this incident for an error in judgement and concern for my safety, which I appreciate, but please do not judge my sister or our faith."
He gives a slight smile to help take the sting out of his words. He realizes she is not of this land and as such might not understand their ways.

![]() |

Why is it always about the gods? Old or new, doesn't matter. None of them care for the struggles of mortals it seems.
Harmini listens closely to Nima but retreats suddenly at hearing Teos' sharp words. She smiles back timidly and replies in a shaky voice.
You misunderstand me, my dear. I don't mean to question your family's devotion to your faith only your...
She pauses mid-sentence and begins rifling through her bag for some something. She pulls out a scroll.
Ah! There it is! Perhaps I better go see if your sister could use some assistance.
Scroll of Remove Curse.
Harmini turns to go find Cleos cautiously.
The dead rise from their graves and we march into The Embalmer's Guild lair. I shudder to think what else that old crone, Bahjut might have mummified in here... disgusting. The sooner we heal Teos and leave this place, the better.

Talalmackk Chirronna |

After a minute Cleos comes running back, Donkkir at her heals carrying a book as well as two rolled papyrus scrolls.
"Sorry for the delay brother." Cleos says. "I found the right source on how to handle the mummy's affliction, and we have the resources to handle it. The bad news is, the blessings I get from Anubis may not be enough and I had not prepared to handle a curse today. We have one scroll capable of handling it, so say the prayers along with me brother and perhaps Anubis will spare you more anguish."
Cleos takes the scroll from Donkkir and unrolls it. She motions for everyone to stand back so she can work and she pauses briefly as if in thought.
"I must work quickly, so please try not to interrupt. The two incantations must be completed in short order or the affliction will return quickly."
Cleos begins reading from the scroll and shortly Teos is bathed in a yellow light. The magic clashes against the curse in a visual display. After a few second the yellow light subsides as it settles into Teos, cleansing him of the curse.
Cleos lets out a sigh as she drops the papyrus scroll. She then takes the jackel-headed symbol around her neck and begins a soft prayer to Anubis. Again the yellow glow washes over Teos, this time battling against a green light that seems to draw out of him. After a few more second the yellow light begins to dim as the green light overcomes it.
"Donkkir, the other scroll!" Cleos shouts as she slumps a little.
Donkkir hands her the scroll and she begins to read from it bringing forth the yellow light again. The yellow and green begins swirling again as the magic works over Teos. This time the green light fades and the yellow subsides like the first incantation.
Cleos slumps to the floor and breaths deep. "That was close." she says relieved. "Teos, how do you feel?"
The spells worked, the cursed disease is lifted but Teos still feels weak from the damage he took.

Nimaethep |

Nimathep bows her head and holding her own symbol whispers prayers along with An-Cleos. She had never seen the type of miracles being performed today. Being more concerned with the preparation and internment of the deceased, there was little need for such divine interventions.
She was relieved when Theo was finally declared free from his afflictions, though he still looked weak from the ordeal his wounds should now mend with time.
"Thank you Tomb Keeper" she said using the formal title as it seemed appropriate considering the display of divine power she had just witnessed. "With Theo's curse lifted, we can pursue Anubis' will and place the dead back to rest where they shall do the living no more harm"

Teos of An |

"Thank you sister, and praise be Anubis. I should go and check on the family, unless you have heard anything from them?"
The warrior gets up and takes a deep breath of air...feeling the constriction in his chest disappear and his strength slowly returning.

![]() |

Harmini observes the unfolding of events closely.
Oh... Well that's a pleasant and unexpected surprise. We could use a little good fortune for a change.
"Most impressive. This was no easy task and we are indebted to you, good Cleos."
She offers the scroll in her hand to the priestess as well as a small pouch of coins.
Scroll of Remove Curse and 37p 5g to replace the Scroll of Remove Disease consumed.
"Payment for your services, my dear. I'm confident that you will put it to good use."

Nimaethep |

"We should go. The dead have broken the divine pact and risen again from their graves to harry the living and that cannot stand. As I interred them when they passed from life to death, so shall I inter them as they pass from undeath back to death."
She knelt before An-Cleo "Before we go, may I have your blessing."
She spoke an ancient prayer to Anubis
" I will wear your jewelry to mourn
those I love as priests have worn your
masks.
Protect me from danger that lies
ahead as you have protected others
in the realm of the dead.
Guard me as I sleep as you have
guarded the dead.
As a lost soul, guide me in this
life as you have guided others in the
afterlife.
I will stay truthful at the weighing
of the heart, therefore, you are guardian
of the scales.
For you are the keeper of divine
justice, I will stand for those who cannot
stand for themselves.
Anubis hear my prayer. Comfort me when
I feel lost and alone. Give me strength when
I feel weak. I will respect the dead as much
As I respect the living. I will stand by you as
You will guard me in life and death. "
She then lowered the jackal mask that she head just recently purchased over her face. "It is time to go."
Prayer by RoseMoon27

Talalmackk Chirronna |

Cleos accepts the gifts from Harmini and then bows her head along with the others and nods as the prayer is finished. She addresses the group.
"It does seem like the city is once again being overrun by the undead." she says. "While I have not heard much beyond those I see coming in hear, it sounds like you have see much more. Perhaps it would be best if you were to see what you can do to help the city. After you check on Father, of course. I won't be able to make it home tonight so please make sure the family does not worry for me."
She embraces Teos quickly as other patients are brought in. She grasps Nimaethep's hand in thanks as well and nods to Harmini.
"Now be safe out there! I must go." With that said she turns to leave.
First off, great job Nim!
From here I think we can wrap things up. We can either gloss over the rest of the night, with the party checking on Teos' family (the are fine, shaken up but not hurt) and then resting for the night. You can then decide what actions to take next day. This part is more open to what you wish to do. The one hook so far is to check in with the church of Pharasma to see how you can help. Or you can patrol yourself.
So, what's next?

Nimaethep |

Despite the earlier troubles at the auction house, the absence of any further undead was a welcome relief. The trip to Teos' family being uneventful put Nimaethep somewhat at ease.
"The night seems quieter now, perhaps the worst is over. We should still visit Sebti in the morning though. Her faithful were responsible for guarding the walls of the necropolis and they might have a better understanding of what just happened."
She pondered whether she should head out and check on her brothers. They worked in the fields and quarry on the far side of town, away from the dead city. They should be safe for the time being and it would be better if she stayed close to the others in case there was another outbreak within the city proper.
"It might be best if we stay together tonight. If something else happens it would be best if we were all able to face it together."

Teos of An |

"I would agree Nim. Talking to Sebti might shed some light on what has happened. Where do you suggest we stay? You are welcome to stay at my families home if you wish."
Teos feels much better knowing his family is safe.

Nimaethep |

"It is kind of you to offer, if Harmini and Marlera are fine with it then it is agreed. We will stay here and set off first thing in the morning."
That evening, Nimaethep is plagued with worry over the condition of her brothers. After a fitful night, she rises early to conduct a simply little ritual to the old faith and Anubis in particular before having a light breakfast and setting out to the Grand Mausoleum to meet with Pharasma's faithful.

Talalmackk Chirronna |

The night goes by without any real issue, though it is not quiet. No danger shows up at the door but there are screams in the night periodically. Some of those screams are cut short. The rest is difficult and interrupted but you still awake more refreshed than you were the night before.
In the morning, Teos' family is shaken but they try to push through and provide a small meal for the heroes. They are thankful that Teos and his new friends were able to make it home, and even to help others. Cleos does not return home, as expected, but they know she would work through the night if needed.
After the small meal, the group heads out to the Grans Mausoleum. The streets are empty in most places, though the distant screams continue as they did in the night. Occasionally you spot a darting form down an alley but except for quick glimpses of someone trying to make their way as unnoticed as possible for fear of attracting the worse kind of attention, the only life you see are vermin in the streets.
As you walk along a row of shops, you hear some shouting coming from ahead. Suddenly a man come tumbling out of a door frame that appears to have been broken in. The man comes to rest on his back and he quickly raises his hands as if warding off an attack.
"Please!" he shouts in fear. "Please, I have so little."
Quickly behind the man come a group of thugs that seem to have been the cause for his fear. The begin kicking at him as he lays there, shouting at him.
"You should be grateful, old man!" one screams. "We spend our night keeping the dead from crashing into your home, and you can't even show us how thankful you are!"
This situation unfolds about one hundred feet ahead of you. What would you like to do? We aren't in rounds (yet).

Teos of An |

Teos quickly moves towards the thugs and stands between them and the man in the street.
"See here now gentlemen, that is no way to treat someone. With all the death and destruction around us, we need to come together...not fight each other!"
While he speaks calmly, he none the less has his hand on his sword and is trying to look as imposing as possible.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20

Nimaethep |

Nimaethep frowned and clenched her fists, ready to subdue these ruffians and haul them in to the authorities. Though she had trained long in managing the anger of her younger years, her sense of justice and fairness had grown in that time and a injustice such as this sometimes brought her ire back to the surface.
Her tail twitched as her eyes narrowed. Under other circumstances ruffians setting up a protection racket would have been bad enough, but with everything going on at the moment it was intolerable.
Still, she held her tongue. It appeared that Teos intended to simply send the thugs packing and though she did not agree with that course of action she was not about to undermine his attempts at the moment.
She moved up to help the fallen man stand, ready to protect him if the miscreants became violent... though a part of her hoped that they would.

Talalmackk Chirronna |

As Teos calls out to the thugs, they pause and note the group approaching. Most back away a step, leaving the one standing over the fallen man. A second later even he seems to reconsider his actions. A few of those that first stepped away begin to look at each other, then they step forward again and begin helping the man up. Two go over to the battered in door and start to do what they can to fix it.
The apparent leader of the thugs looks down as Nimaethep comes up to them.
"We were out here all night." he begins to explain. "The fear and the anger at what was happening must have driven us into the darkness. Please forgive us. And, whatever we can do to assist you, please ask. We will see that this man's shop is cared for immediately."

Nimaethep |

Nimaethep glared at the one talking. She was not adept at reading others, spending most of her time preparing the dead for their journey or else studying books.
sense motive: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
She did not know what to make of the man's claim, still she did not trust his words.
She carefully positioned herself between the ruffian and the man "What do you have to say about what happened here?" she asked, turning her head towards the victim but never taking her eyes from the bandit.

Teos of An |

Teos give a tight smile and claps the speaker on the shoulder.
"Fear I understand quite well, but we all need to pull together now. There is no place for bullies in a time like this. Once done here you could head to the temple of Anubis...ask for An-Cleos and tell her Teos sent you to help. I am sure she will have work for you to do to work off your penance. Agreed?"

Talalmackk Chirronna |

As Nimaethep approaches the thugs, now helping their once victim to his feet, they seem unsure of her intentions. The victim brushes himself off though and looks unharmed.
"Thank you!" he says. "It has been a trying night for sure, but to demand tribute to avoid further harm is almost as evil as the dead themselves. Still, they seem to have come around now and perhaps it is as they said. Feat can make men do wrong even if they think it is right."
While the victim talks to Nimaethep, the lead thug continues to look at the ground before him. When Teos mentions working off penance, get looks up, seeming to understand Gus life is not ending now.
"We will make it right" he says. "I do not know if Anubis will forgive us but will try to correct what ha was done."
He then joins his companions and works to set it right

Talalmackk Chirronna |

The shopkeep approaches Teos with Nimaethep in tow. He motions towards the two of them and wrings his hands together.
"Thank you all again!" the man says. "It seems you put the fear of meeting Pharasma in these lot, perhaps if more people could talk sense into these types, the city wouldn't be tearing itself apart again. Ah, unfortunately as these thugs found, I have little in way of rewarding your heroism but I do have something I would like to offer you as true heroes. Wait here."
The man heads into his shop, past the sign reading "Sun-ripened Teas" and the thugs finishing up what repairs they can do immediately. As the thugs head off towards the Hall of Blessed Rebirth, the man returns with a small bundle tied together with twine.
"Here, please take this." he says as he hands Nimaethep the bundle. "I came across this years ago, but no one around here had need of it. This is seer's tea, highly valuable to those seeking the direction from the gods. Perhaps you could find a use for it."
The man smiles at the heroes and nods in thanks again.
Inside the bundle are two doses of Seer's teas in individual packets. The thugs have wandered off now, leaving the party alone with the shopkeep.

![]() |

After great lengths of silent observation, Harmini approaches her two companions with soft applause.
"Bravo, my dears. A splendid display of gallantry indeed. Lesser individuals may not have been so kind toward such brash opportunists.
We were clearly outnumbered. That could've gone poorly were Teos not so... persuasive with the commoners. Nonetheless impressive, even if it was a bit impulsive. Worse dangers may yet lie ahead.
Harmini glances over to Nima and then back to Teos as if inspecting them.
"Speaking of boldness, I must also present to you several gifts for your previous heroic deeds. They will most certainly be of use to you in our upcoming endeavors. I had intended to give these to you after the mummy was destroyed but there were more pressing matters at hand."
She smiles as she removes a magical amulet and ring, offering them earnestly to Teos.
Giving Teos an Amulet of Natural Armor +1 & a Ring of Protection +1. In fact, Harmini bought these at the auction for Teos. She just wanted to try them on first.

Nimaethep |

"Thank you, though there is no need for payment." Nimaethep says as the shopkeep presents the tea. She pauses for a moment to give him the opportunity to keep his reward if he so chooses.
As the shopkeep returns to his store she looks contemplative as Harmini speaks of gallantry "I would not have let those men go so easily. A proper court and prescribed penance is the fate that I would have chosen for them. Leniency in the sentencing due to circumstances perhaps, but the crime should still be addressed."
She shrugged as she turned her attention back to the matters at hand
"Perhaps it is for the best though, there are more pressing issues and dealing with these thugs was a distraction. It seems to have worked out in the end."
She turns the packet over in her hands, examining the bundle of tea. "I enjoy a nice cup in the evening, but I have never heard of Seer tea before. Do either of you know what it is?"

Teos of An |

Teos shakes his head in response to Nim's question about the tea. He is ready to move on when Harmini presents him with the amulet and ring.
"I..Idont know what to say. This is most unexpected. I cannot accept such a gift, but perhaps a loan...? Could you make do with either of these items Nim? Maybe we can share them...the ring for you and the amulet for me?"
The big man is at a loss how to show his gratitude and he finally walks up to Harmini and gives her a gentle hug.
"Thank you!"

Nimaethep |

Nimaethep raises an eyebrow at Teos' offer and she glances at Harmini before turning her attention back to Teos "It would be improper for me to accept a gift that was offered to you."
She smiled "However I do appreciate your concern. I will be fine."

![]() |

OH!
Harmini accepts the hug from Teos with a bit of surprise and reluctance. It is clear that she is not accustomed to physical contact but does not resist. She smiles at him politely.
"You are most welcome, Teos!"
After regaining her composure, she looks to Nimaethep. Her gloved hands sofly glow with magic.
"Now let's see what this "Seer's Tea" is all about, shall we?"
"Ah yes! Magical indeed. This special tea has the ability to simulate divination spells. Do you mind if I keep one of these packets? I'd be happy to offer something more useful to you in return. It is the proper thing to do after all."
Harmini produces a couple of neatly labeled vials from her sleeve and offers them to Nima in exchange for the tea.
Potion of Cure Moderate Wounds and a Potion of Hide from Undead.

Talalmackk Chirronna |

Pushing things along...
The shopkeep is thankful to the group.
"Thank you again." he says as he returns to his shop. "Please come back when you have a chance, Bahtep's Sun-Ripened Teas are the best, and we always take care of our friends!"
The party continues as on as they discuss things, but soon return to moving in relative silence. The streets are mostly empty so the rest of the journey to the Grand Mausoleum is uneventful. As the party comes around the south side of the Pharasmin temple, a squad of Voices push by as they head out to patrol.
Once around the front of the Grans Mausoleum, the group can see that the place is fortified as if for war. A full patrol of Voices stand wearily at the steps, keeping control of the crowd shouting to get in, shouting for protection. The Voices seem to be guarding a group of healers and priests who are trying to take care of as many as they can, keeping things as civil as they can.
It will take a few minutes to get through that crowd, but perhaps approaching one of the Voices instead would allow you to avoid the delay.

Nimaethep |

As they waited, Nimaethep worriedly scanned the wounded that she could see for any signs of her brothers.
She tried to catch the attention of one of the Voices "We would like to offer our help dealing with the current crisis. Can we talk with one of your superiors?"

Talalmackk Chirronna |

The member of the Voices turns to Nimaethep. He looks weary but strong.
"You look able enough!" he says then turns to a small group of young men and women. "Acolyte! Take these four upstairs to speak with Nakht."
As he calls out a young woman comes forward, her eyes puffy. The man smiles slightly at her and puts his hand on her shoulder in a gesture of support then turns back to Nimaethep.
"Nakht Shepses will be able to give you more information." With that said, he steps aside and lets the four heroes through. The young woman then leads the group into the Temple and soon to a set of small back offices. As the group approaches one office, raised voices can be heard coming from behind the door.
"Nakht," says a familiar woman's voice. "your impulses won't help us right now. You have no idea what calling on their aid will do and I forbid it!"
The door rattles slightly as it creeps open a bit. Sebti the Crocodile can be seen and a stern man stands across the room from her. The man shouts in return as Sebti begins to leave.
"Sebti! The defense of this city is my responsibility and I will do what I feel appropriate in that job!"
The man then notes the acolyte and the heroes, and he takes a moment to compose himself before he continues.
"Thank you Acolyte." he says in a forced-calm voice. He motions for the group to come forward as he continues. "Please come in. I assume the acolyte brought you here because he wish to help in the cities defense. It is a trying time out there, are you sure you would be up for this?"
Nakht Shepses takes a seat behind a simple desk. His arm scrapes the chair a little as he does so, but he doesn't seem to pay it any attention. He rests a hand on the well made sword resting on the desk, though it seems to be a gesture of comfort on his part.

Teos of An |

"It is our wish to help the people of the city. m'lord. I feel that we can be of assistance. We did help divert the dead once already, including a mummy."
While Teos attempts to tell the story without boasting or elaborations, he does stand taller and unconsciously flexes his muscles as he tells their tale.

Nimaethep |

As the acolyte guides the group through the temple, Nimaethep quietly asks "Do your recall if any catfolk were brought in with the other wounded?". Still concerned about her brothers she hoped that they remained safe on the other side of town, away from the troubles.
In the presence of Nakht, Nimaethep waits for Teos before adding "We were part of the Lottery and have experience with the dangers that lay beyond the walls. As those dangers have spilled into the city of the living, we would like to offer our skills and experience to set things right. Do you know what happened to trigger the outbreak of troubles?"

Talalmackk Chirronna |

"I will check with the healers about your brother."
Nahkt listens intently as Teos explains the troubles faced the previous night. When he describes the encounter with the mummy, he visibly grows worried with his brow furrowing and becoming slightly pale. He nods though as Nimaethep goes on to explain the the group's experience with the Necropolis. When she finishes, he takes a roll of papyrus from under the desk and rolls our a map of Wati.
"I thank you for your services so far." he says. "And I thank you again for offering to aid us further. We do not know what has caused the dead to rise again as we have spent most of our time and resources to contain them. That is our priority right now."
He motions to the map and points to the area to the north of the Mausoleum. "Most of the problem are in the northern sections of Wati, between here and the gates of the Necropolis. If you were inclined to help, I would ask you to see what can be done to make the streets safer in that area. Specifically, I have been informed that their are some troubling signs around the old courthouses in the Precinct of Left Eyes."
"If you do find any troubles, dead or living, please do your best to contain them. Remember though, some people are panicked and may not intend to cause harm. Please try to serve justice, if possible."
Nahkt stands and bows his head slightly in respect, then awaits an answer or questions.

Seems to be some disagreement between the head of the church and the Voices. We need to find out what's really going on here.
Harmini follows the high priestess out of the room and catches up to Sebti in the hallway. She calls out to her calmly.
Hello again, my dear Sebti. You're just the person I've come here to see. What seems to be the problem? Perhaps I can be of some assistance?

Sebti stops as Harmini greets her. She attempts to appear calm but the frustration still shows on her face.
"Hello Miss Wakestep." she says. "It is good to see you again, healthy considering all the recent trouble. New allies as well I see."
She glances after Teos, Nimaethep, and Malera. She pauses on Nimaethep for a second, seeming to be a little confused.
"Cats seem to be attracted to such a sacred one. Who knew?" She smiles at her own little joke but continues. "The problem is that Nahkt thinks he can control the wilds of Boneyard, but such things are not easily tamed."
Sebti's smile turns as she speaks of Nahkt plan and fear flashes in her eyes as she seems to be thinking of what forces may be involved.
"Still, I have forbidden him to call on such beings. He may feel he is right, but I am the authority when it comes to our connection to the Mistress and her realm. He will think better than to cross me in this when he calms down. Enough of this though. What bring you here?"
