Zeljka nodded in greeting. "I'm glad we were able to free you. How long have you been here and why did they imprison you? Did they require something of you? I assume it was the mjusi calling himself the Swamp Speaker who lured you here? Do you know where the rest of the lizardfolk are?"
Fafrail seemed almost ashamed, "I-- he, a lizardfolk called Daruthek lured me here with the aid of an elemental lord and then imprisoned me here and used by innate abilities to fuel some contraption of his."
She added, "He uses things he calls stormseeds to create a massive hurricane. The evil elemental lords lend their aid to him."
"Have you destroyed the other seeds?"

She turned to Min and handed her a gem, "Here; it will call forth an elemental being from my plane of existence who will help you for a few minutes."

Nsizi nodded his head. "We have destroyed three of the seeds, and seek the final one. Do you know where it is? I expected it to be here, in this cavern, but I do not see it."

He bowed to the woman, after she handed Min the gem. "Our thanks. If I may ask, do you have healing abilities? My ability to ask the spirits for aid is used for the day, and I do not think we dare wait long enough to rest and recover. However, our warriors are sorely wounded, and can not fight again without help."

Nsizi nodded his head. "We have destroyed three of the seeds, and seek the final one. Do you know where it is? I expected it to be here, in this cavern, but I do not see it."
The djinni shook her head, "There is no fourth seed. That seed never existed or was destroyed which was why I was tricked to come here. He was using me as a conduit to fuel his contraption."
She added, "Even with the seeds destroyed, he could probably fuel his contraption in other ways unless he's stopped."

The djinni thought for a moment, "I'm afraid not. Have you checked the clerics?"

"I have a few potions still if anyone needs them," Min told Nsizi. "Though I wonder ... without the seeds in place, the storm might be weakening. Perhaps we might risk returning to the surface to ask the lizardfolk for healing, or perhaps even to rest, before going on to face this Daruthek, if time isn't quite so much of the essence?"

Zeljka wasn't happy to hear that they had destroyed all the storm seeds yet things hadn't ended. "Sounds like we need to destroy this contraption and kill the Swamp Speaker before this is all over."
Action 2:
The half-orc collected two potions from the bodies of the cleric. She passed one to Achahut and kept one herself. "These should heal many of Achahut's and my wounds but it may be best to rest before confronting the Swamp Speaker, as Min suggested."
| Nsizi |
Is the scroll divine or arcane? That will determine who gets it. I think Zeljka should have the cloak, as Min already has +2 ring that won't stack with it.
Nsizi felt very weary. As much as he hated to admit it, he wasn't up for another fight just yet. "I fear we must rest before we continue. If we are afforded the opportunity, that is. I think that when we return to our floating boat, we will find that the maelstrom in the centre of the chamber will have abated, and there we will find our foes. We may not have the luxury of time."
All for heading back up, if we're able.
| Zeljka Greenfoot |
Zeljka grunted, "This room is secure enough. We can rest here for the night. It's no different than camping."
Did anyone ever identify the royal jelly? Doesn't that also aid in healing? Although that may also raise another question, what happened to the bees? Maybe we shouldn't stay here :)

The middle part of the map was 'whited out' because there was the wall of fog/lightning that prevented you from seeing what's inside. You don't know if the whole thing is open and you can just walk off the plinth or if there is an entrance.
You'll see as soon as you try and get out though.

"That royal jelly we found might help as well," Min went on. "It provides enough nourishment to account for a full day's meals, makes a person more resistant to disease, and makes a full night's rest more rejuvenating -- if we take the chance of a full night's rest."

To the djinni, Nsizi said, "If we were to rest here for a few hours, would you be able to keep watch? It would help if we didn't need to rotate a guard; we could spend less time resting before we were ready to continue."

Is the scroll divine or arcane? That will determine who gets it.
Spiritual weapon is divine only, so Nsizi is the only one who can use the scroll.
Min quickly casts a spell of protection on herself. "I wish Evalina were here," she murmurs, looking up at the levitating lizardfolk.

Did the two bruisers already take those two potions? If not, take them now, and then Nsizi will use CLW on Achahut and Zeljka until they are within a few points of healthy. No point going in damaged.
Nsizi had slept poorly, knowing that there was a fight ahead, and that any moment their foe could come for them. However, it was enough to refresh his spirit, and he was able to draw power from the strange spirits of this place once again.
Seeing that the half-orc and mjusi were still hurt, he called upon those spirits to heal their wounds, that they might be ready to fight again. "Better to do it now, I am not always able to get to you in battle."
After they had broken their fast with a cold breakfast, he made sure they were ready to go. "I believe that we will find the Swamp Speaker in the middle. I will ask the spirits to guide us, and help us resist what he might throw at us. Bufi, I will also ask the spirits to lend you their strength, that your blows will land harder."

Action 2
for spiritual weapon, can I use Nsizi's Cha modifier instead of Wis, as that's his spell-related ability?
Nsizi looked at the floating mjusi and knew it was likely going to be the warriors that took care of him. Perhaps he could distract one of the clerics long enough for them to get the Swamp Speaker down to the ground, so they could fight him.
Reading the words on the scroll in his hand, Nsizi summoned a spiritual iwisa. The weapon, made of spiritual force, flew straight towards the southern-most cleric and began to strike at him.

Achahut allowed himself to be fussed over and spelled, but he was focusing his mind on the fight ahead. The Swamp Speaker communed with evil spirits and devils - it was likely that Achahut would die today, and not well. But if it took the sacrifice of his soul to save his people, he would do it.
Action 2
As the plinth delivered them to battle, Achahut saw the small bodies on the alters. For a moment, he stood frozen in horror. "Children?" he said, his rough voice temporarily soft. "You have killed our children? Lesha, Bechat, little Uusho? And to think, I was worried for my soul."
Channelling his anger into a cold, pure strength, he said, "Wizard. Bring him down." Not looking to see if, or how, the wizard would comply, he moved towards the nearest foe and attacked.

Gasping as the electricity crackled in her hair, Min extracted a length of licorice root from her spell component pouch and emitted quick syllables that seemed to stir the blood and excite the senses of her allies. "Achahut, behind you!" she warned the lizardfolk against the new entrants to the melee.

Did Zeljka's arrow not actually do the damage to Daruthek? She passed his AC with her attack but he's still listed as healthy.
Zeljka saw the other two clerics emerge and she decided to focus on helping Achahut rather than shooting arrows at the Swamp Speaker. She heard Min speak strange words before feeling like everything was sped up. Moving forward she engaged the cleric nearest to her with her trusty falchion and augmented strength. Her blade cut deep and practically gutted the cleric before he knew what hit him.

I think I calculated the bonus to damage with power attack because Zeljka's BAB is over 4 and she's using the weapon with both hands.
I'm counting all lizardfolk under the same studied target. If Daruthek and the clerics need to be separated as studied targets, let me know. Even if Zeljka takes that away from her attack, she'd still hit with a 18.

Nsizi's spiritual iwisa continued its attack against the cleric. This time, the mjusi was able to anticipate and dodge to unheld weapon, and it hit nothing but air.

Knowing that he needed to do something to hamper the Swamp Speaker, Nsizi pulled out a second scroll. Reciting the strange words, he implored the spirits to send them an ally in this fight.

The subject of Nsizi's summoning began to appear - strands of strange, translucent yet iridescent material swirled around each other in an eerie, undulating fashion. The creature appeared just in front of Daruthek, and for a moment it wasn't clear if the elemental was a creature, or a spell.
Nuts, got stuck here. Is this a one HD creature? I wanted to throw Daruthek, but I think he's too heavy. The children on the altars - are they attached, or just lying there? Any other throwable objects in the room?
Meanwhile, Nsizi was wondering what the wysps were up to. They didn't seem to be attacking - were they helping fuel the Swamp Speaker's spells? The Bas'o moved to the east until he had both wysps in line, then he held up a hand and beseeched, "Spirits, blow your breath into this room, bring the wind gusting to me."
A gust of fast-moving air streamed from Nsizi straight at the wysps, blowing them tumbling backwards to the edge of the room.
