Hello. I do believe this is going to be an interesting group. :-P
Libris Mortis
I believe so too =^^=

Libris, it just occurred to me...I'm going have an interesting time healing you and channeling positive energy. :-P
Sir Lizard, we do technically have a human barbarian.
Rixa Glasso
Don't forget- his Lay on Hands will actually harm himself as he tries to heal.
Mizzug
Don't forget- his Lay on Hands will actually harm himself as he tries to heal.
That's awesome!
Oh, I can reduce his AC and do 1d3 damage to him 5 times a day.
Libris Mortis
He is an PE skeleton. almost like a favoured soul ;) so heal away. unless the GM and I talked past each other. either way, it will be fun. will be interesting too when its revealed what he is
Rixa Glasso
So, apparently, we're either going to have a skeleton or a blue-haired Aasimar as our face, while the giant half-ogre, kobold, goblin, and human stand off to the side.
"No, really! We're not monsters! We're the good gu- Mr. Biggs! What did I say about setting things on fire while in town! But yes, we're the good guys"
Also, are we treating the recruitment thread RP as having actually happened?
Libris Mortis
I dunno about last part, i usually don't. but Mr Biggs could have showed some fireworks to the locals pre-festival
Hey, the skeleton will be quite polite and pleasant, and he has to take off his gear and helm to actually see he isn't skin and bones as he appear, but just bones ;)
Rixa Glasso
I'm foreseeing something of a "Why do you wear armor in the presence of the king? Remove it immediately and show your face!" scenario.

I too would love that sort of encounter. as mentioned, he often forgets that he is not a fleshy anymore
I am hoping for a channel positive to harm undead
BE GONE SPAWN OF EVIL! *holds symbol and channels*
*looks around gripping his sword and shield
"Where?! Come out so i can smite you!"
*looks at arms, then rubs his head*
"Oh, right... im the spawn of evil. my bad"
Mizzug
**Casts detect undead**
'Guys...somethings here!'
Wait...Libris? I swear you were alive just a few minutes ago...
Rixa Glasso
How does that work, though? I thought the Oath Against Undead required you to destroy all undead?
Libris Mortis
Well, one of a few things will happen, according to him
he needs to wipe out all undead, he will be the last to remain. so either
1. when that happens, he will get his peace
2. he becomes human again
3. in the end, he turns his blade on himself
Libris can cast detect undead too, instead of detect evil... luckily he doesnt include himself in the "scan" :P
Rixa Glasso
Fair enough. So.... What's going to happen when we get to a level high enough for a resurrection? Will he take it to live again?
Libris Mortis
Maybe, but i have this idea that resurrection you call a soul back to the body. but in his case, his soul is already there. He doesn't know if it will work or not
Libris Mortis
Well, can you blame a paladin for revering his deity? :P
Rixa Glasso
So, who are we still waiting on to check in? Drakoo and Grattfaulk?
Libris Mortis
Greetings Drakroo

Welcome sir Kobold! Just need the angry human to join our cause now.
Rixa Glasso
We are going to have so much fun if we ever need to go undercover.

1 person marked this as a favorite.
Agreed! Hmm...I think I'll go disguised as a gnome...
Rixa Glasso
Just to clarify, Rixa and Nightspear weren't shouting at each other. It's entirely possible they were overheard, though. Keep in mind "able to speak Celestial" does not mean the sparrow can yell as loud as a human. He still is as loud as a regular sparrow (that is to say, not terribly loud). But maybe I'm just nitpecking. Just soemthing to keep in mind. Then again, physics is broken so often in Golarion, what's one more way in between all of the flying, telekinetic wizards blatantly ignoring literally every law of existence?
Rixa Glasso
I mean, no pressure or anything, but remember that this will be the IC first impression any of our characters have of you...
Rixa Glasso
Rixa has a few tricks up her sleeve. Nothing harmful, mind you, but something fun. Hopefully she has the chance to use them.
Libris Mortis
Libris' main trick is well, being undead Paladin animated by positive energy :P
Though i think i should change spellcraft for sense motive

Grattfaulk still MIA it seems.
I'll toss a gold on the goblin winning the arm wrestle. :-P
DM waz up?
|
Id like to mention now, i will bebgoing for a more serious and darker tone at times when things matter, so be prepared for those times when the goblins get pretty evil.
So, let it be known that your enemies Will be vile and will not hold back.
Also, I plan on making some additional characters in the story, minor caracters for side drama and even some romantic intrests. You may just see Leroy again ^-^

Oh, I love Words of Power so much. The real trick is to not skim the Word descriptions. Lift? It emulates mage hand, but it doesn't require pointing at the object to be lifted, doesn't specify the objects need to be unattended, and can lift multiple objects at the same time. Actually, by a strict reading, it takes a standard action to concentrate on mage hand, and a move action if you actually want to move anything. Lift just requires a standard to move a theoretically infinite number of things.
On the "uses" of Lift:
I could bury our enemies in a 20 foot pile of pebbles! So long as each rock weighs 5 pounds or less. But I won't push it. I mean, there's already a way to destroy Golarion with a handful of rocks, and the general consensus was simply, "don't abuse it." Or, "this should be banned/houseruled away," but that happens any time somebody gets a new toy.
Or I could disarm people! Move those 5 pound swords, daggers, bows, and what have you. I move the weapon 15 feet a round. In that case, one of two things would happen by RAW. 1: The sword moves 15 feet. The creature holding it goes along for the ride, giving early access to pseudo-flight. 2: the sword moves 15 feet. The creature doesn't go along. Instant, no-save, no-check disarm, on everyone within 25 feet of me!
Or I could ready an action to catch projectiles headed towards me! Army of elven archers? No problem. Once the arrows come close enough, I simply catch them in my awesome telekinetic powers! Hmm… How much does a fireball weigh? Oh wait, that would be considered a "magical" object. How about a vial of alchemist's fire, though? Or acid? Bullets?
Or, depending on how loose we qualify something as an 'object,' droplets of water! Or air molecules! I can control air, water, pebbles, torches… I am the avatar! With a 0-level Word! Or go even smaller! Atoms! I can shape the world around me in a 25-foot radius, making rock flow like water, or turning things to a pile of dust! Protons and Neutrons! Atomic bombs at will! Transmute the fundamental substance of the universe! Electrons! I can create lightning at will!
Or, on the other end of the spectrum, how much does Golarion weigh? By one definition, almost nothing, as any 'weight' is a self-imposed construct, and isn't actually that heavy from an external reference frame. The only trick would be moving that much mass, in the real world. However, since Lift doesn't care about mass, only weight, I can move the entire planet! What about freefall? By definition, anything in freefall is weightless, so while falling, I can telekinesis myself! At least until I try to exert a force counter to my direction of movement, in which case I would gain weight again, and the Word would fail. But I could push myself 15 feet per round perpendicular to the direction of my falling! Or, in a 0-gravity setting (maybe we should schedule a trip to the Plane of Air!), I can move anything, anywhere! (So long as it isn't alive or magical, and is within 25 feet + 5/2 levels of me)
I'm joking, by the way. I won't break the game too hard with Words of Power. Though, I must say, it's not hard to do so. For example, the Word equivalent of raise dead has no expensive material cost. Think about that for a second.

Welcome to the club! Glad you could join us.

Of course, the human barbarian is the closest to normal that we have...
Libris Mortis
Not just that. ONLY human.
Aasimar. Half giant. Goblin. Kobold. Skeleton. And a human :P
Like the start of a really bad joke. Or a really good one
